Sneaky peak of the Power Ranger OC art? 👀

Honestly nothing has been fully done nor permanently set in stone just yet, but I’ve been thinking about ideas and playing around with concepts!

These are our main team of rangers (I will be picking this up again for painting/rendering once I’m on break for summer), but there are roughly three or four more to be added

The theme is fantasy with knights and stained glass as a design motif for the suits!

I almost certainly won't ever finish this, but I love to joke around about my oc, Josh, traveling the multiverse. Meeting my faves. Him meeting Jon is one of my favorites because he just. They get along so great, yet so bad. Local teenage boy "bullies" archivist. (He's actually very sympathetic towards this poor man's plight)

HELLO!!!

josh likes sort of... punk and goth fashion styles but she feels like shes too Meek to pull it off so she usually just sticks to kind of "jeans and a nice shirt" type of clothes. but recently shes been trying out accessorizing a bit more with sublte things like chains and rings and such

dainsleif likes all kinds of swords but i think her favourite would be... shortswords. shes torn a bit between "its best to be practical and easy to use" and "if it looks cool as hell then thats what matters most" so in theory she likes big fuckoff greatswords but shes like (shakes head so everyone knows she thinks theres a time and a place for it). but she also thinks fencing is just kind of stupid in general and the rapiers are unimpressive, but if she ever got the chance to look up close at the ... hilt? guard? of a particularily pretty one, she could study it for hours

Okay so this was gonna be a quick fun one but I wrote a small essay whoops

Shaun’s a shut in, almost never leaves the house due to how dangerous it is for him. He’s afraid of getting hurt, other people are afraid of ghosts, so he kinda stays put, catching glimpses of the outside world over the TV and just kinda feeling left out, because of circumstances he can’t control. Even though I’m not a fan of the movie myself, I think he’d be a fan of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Also honorable mention to Wreck it Ralph, he is exactly the type of nerd that movie was made for, but the themes of Hunchback probably resonate more with him. Plus Hunchback would’ve released before he died, while Ralph wouldn’t.

Mikey would probably also like Hunchback, but for different reasons. It wouldn’t be his favorite Disney movie, but Frollo would probably be his favorite Disney villain. Mikey’s been moved around a lot, since he was something of a ‘problem child’, and since he can’t live with his parents, he’d bounce from foster home to foster home, family to family, never really belonging anywhere, never really understanding why. Always being told what to do, not wanting to do it, acting out and getting punished. I’d say he’d probably be a fan of Alice in Wonderland.

The first movie that comes to mind for Anastasia would probably be Oliver and Company, and she probably liked it when she was younger, but present day Annie faces a lot of pressure. Outside of her foster family she’s constantly bullied, put down, belittled, told everything she likes and stands for is stupid and she should feel ashamed of liking it, and she often gives up. Broods by herself, wonders about letting it all go and just giving in, and acting how everyone wants her to. She misses her family, and feels abandoned by life itself. She clings to hope but the doubt still exists in her mind, and she needs to keep moving forward in spite of it. The parallels are a bit loose, but I’d say she’d like Toy Story 2. Particularly Jessie’s storyline.

Josh is a massive theater kid so obviously he’s preferential to the musicals, but surprisingly the movies with stage adaptations don’t seem to really fit him very well. Josh’s main conflict is a sort of imposter syndrome. He’s worked hard to get the lead role in the show, yes, but it’s his first time ever playing a lead, and everyone else seems so much more qualified, and all this supernatural stuff keeps happening around him and yet Unit 624 are treating him like he’s some kind of human macguffin that needs to be protected at all costs. He doesn’t understand why or how he’s so important, but he needs to work past the doubt to fix everything. I think he’d be a big fan of Moana.

Romeo got dealt a pretty bad hand. He had a very rough family life, to put it lightly, and ran away when he was very young. He was taken in by the Monster Hunting Foundation out of pity, since they didn’t really expect him to amount to much, given his limited mobility, and that his main ability requires him to hurt himself. He ended up making a pretty big name for himself, now often touted as the most powerful member. He worked hard for everything and isn’t going to let anything take it from him. Also a side note about being betrayed by someone he loved later on. I think he’d enjoy Hercules.

I can’t go into as much detail about Jack’s past without going into hard spoilers, but he was very sheltered, and had a tense relationship with adults. He was being used mainly for his abilities, in order for other people to profit. He was gaslit and intimidated into submission. When he tried to go against it, he was locked up, and had to escape behind everyone’s backs. He is also an artsy and creative person at heart, willing to think outside the box and talk his way out of conflict before fighting. He’d very much love Tangled. He’d also really dislike Peter Pan.

Emrys had communication problems growing up, and still does. His family never talked to him, never told him how to do anything, and still got mad that he didn’t live up to their ludicrous expectations for him. They would demand he accomplish physically impossible tasks, and when he couldn’t, they’d berate and shame him. He ended up escaping his situation only by embracing his biggest imperfection, and now uses it as his greatest strength. He’d probably like Encanto. Also honorable mention to Zootopia, since he is an avid animal lover, and Princess and the Frog, since frogs are his favorite.
