She’s been away five days and will be away two more.

He sneezes again, curses under his breath about it and gazes out the window for an uncertain time. It’s raining still, and bitterly cold. The flowers she’d left on the sill are starting to fade. Wintry sleet falls steadily, constantly, and he has a thousand things he’s supposed to do and he’s not doing a damn one of them, his focus both scattered and singular as he claims a tissue from the box by the flowers.

He wipes his nose firmly and recalls her placing the bouquet just so, fresh and vibrant, smiling at him so pleased with her arrangement of it all, her arms around him in soft devoted embrace. The ghost of her touch caresses him in memory; the image brings a suffusing warmth, and he loses himself to its comforting spectre.

For a moment, at least.

He sniffles, chilled despite the hearthfire’s radiant heat, and an ominous shiver runs through him. A catch in his throat follows, barbed and wicked. He frowns at it, shakes his head in an irritated, unspoken refutation of what it might imply. Any further acknowledgement of coming down with something is pushed as firmly from his thoughts as he can; he can’t be sick. It’s not going to…

Hh-HH…

It’s not… *snf!* Not going to happen. He won’t allow it. He won’t… *SNF!* It’s not…

His breath sharpcatches and all thoughts crumble capitulated to urgent, desperate sensation.

“HHTSSCH-uu! Hh-TSSSCH-uu! Ah, gods.” With a wetly insistent series of sniffles, he takes yet another tissue and, after a moment of consideration, another for good measure. Another.

He sighs.

And he misses her, and he misses her.

Interesting fact from the Solo leveling Arise!

When Cerberus was born he was the weakest cub, so he was abounded be his parents and picked up by some noble demon who later died and Cerberus got into hands of Demon King aka Baran monarch of the white flame.

They were best buddies and Baran didn’t disagree when someone said that Cerberus was his favorite soldier.

… and then in the picture comes Jinwoo revives Cerberus and gives him a new name “Cerbie” and kills (Ashborn basically already did the job before) Baran. Cerbie must have been so sad seeing his previous master dying from the hands of his new master

I told my 9 yr old sister and 11 yr old sister about Cerbie and the 9 yr old is now dedicated to watching the full first 7 episodes with us on Saturday. My girl, I feel you, so strongly 🤣 we r dog lovers at heart

You know what would be really funny

if Wriothesley found like. This weird ass stray dog one day. Looks really skinny, so of course he feeds it something.

When he has to unfortunately leave for the fortress it??? Somehow follows him??? Not like follows him into the elevator or through any actual plausible entrance it’s just??? There??? How???

Anyway the pup won’t leave him alone and after a while Wrio just. Accepts it. he’s always wanted a dog anyway and as much as he thinks this a terrible environment for one he can’t get it to leave/stay out. It just. Appears back in the fortress.

It seems like the lack of the sun doesn’t affect the dog much, in fact it seems to like the underworld like environment of the Fortress, so 🤷

He can’t get the pup to Sigewinne, and it doesn’t seem to like them or Neuvilette, but no where like attack them or anything; just. Leaves to somewhere. (Aka Neuvi & Sige don’t learn of the dog until like a month or a few down the line).

The prisoners notice the odd hound following their Duke, and it eventually earns the general name of the Hound of the Fortress/Meropide Hound. They’re uncreative and it gets the point across quick 🤷

At some point there’s an intense increase of fur and eventually Wrio realizes also weird growths on the dog’s neck. He can’t get the dog to any vet for the life of him, and it disappears for an entire day (of which he can’t focus for shit on anything).

Next morning/the night of, at like still-dark-outside ass o clock the dog… wolf appears in his quarters. With. Two extra heads on the side of their neck????? Around this time is when he properly adopts the pup

Point is, I’m giving Wrio a dog and said dog may or may not be Cerberus; he deserves it frfr

(the dog is an abnormal rifthound/wolf that thinks Wrio is a weird hound <3)

I like to think down the line items able to get bigger and smaller; like it’s able to get to Riftking/Wolflord size if it wants

Cerberus searched their mentor’s face for signs of the terror and agony they had once felt: the bubbling tears that threatened to overflow; the silent, wide-eyed pleading; the screams and sobs clenched behind gritted teeth.  Instead, though, the bastard looked up at them and grinned.

“Fucking finally.  There’s my goddamn successor.”

“Shut up,” Cerberus growled. “All I want to hear are your pleas for fucking mercy.”  They twisted the knife embedded in their mentor’s shoulder.  The older assassin merely threw back his head—baring his throat in arrogant nonchalance, despite his immobility—and laughed.

“Oh, but Cerberus, my boy; don’t you see?  This is everything I’ve ever wanted,” he crooned. “Look at you.  You’re vicious.  Merciless.  Brutal.  Heartless.”  A deranged, fiendish flame blazed in those cold grey eyes.  He raised his arm up through the knife that pinned it. The blade and handle passed through his flesh like butter, but he did not so much as wince.  His blood-soaked hand came to rest on Cerberus’s scarred cheek. “I’m so proud of you.”

If you tame Cerberus, you gain the title of the "Ruler of Underworld" right? Since MC is from a different timeline, what if upon an encounter with the fearsome beast, Cerberus is more calm and quite and not even that hostile towards MC since they still have that faint scent lingering on them that no one can feel but Carberus so....

It's odd, and very unusual. Cerberus is known as the most hostile creature that lives in the Devildom. Cerberus is so violent that its ferociousness has taken the form of a rumor. So were the rumors false? or was it your presence that changed the whole trajectory of the rumors. The brothers got into positions incase you were harmed since Cerberus was no talk. He circled around you a few times and leaped on you. With joy. The spectators were alerted yet they were frozen with shock by the scenes that were unfolding infront of them. Should they feel scared of Cerberus' presence or should they question the way he licked you with familiarity and happiness as if it was a little puppy.

Aside from you, no one knows, not even the Lucifer from the timeline from where you have come. You used to feed Cerberus meat jerky from time to time since it seemed lonely having to guard the underground tomb.

Cerberus smelled that you were no harm and you had that scent of love and care emiting from you so he licked your face and tackled you with joy and playfulness. "Oh my Cerbie! th—that tickles, oh!" you scratched his chin and petted him aggressively since that's how he likes it.

"Barbatos...is this...supposed to happen?" Lucifer asks quite clulessly to an equally clueless Barbatos who watches you behave with Cerberus as if you've known him for many, many years.

Meanwhile, the other 6 brothers watch you with jawdropped. "Hahah! now this isn't something you get to see everyday!" "Diavolo shouldn't you be concerned?" Solomon asks sweating profusely.

Looks like you earned yourself a new found fame and an easy access to be able to rule beside Diavolo as his significant other. Its a win-win !

You cannot tell me that cerberus does not hang out in Hades's throne room.. in fact I would even say that he purposefully made it big enough for Cerby, imagine he sits in that cute little sofa and across is a sleeping Cerberus.

Lucifer:

Cerberus, a tri-headed Chow. Similar in appearance to a Human World ChowChow save for his three heads, Cerberus weighs in around 10,000 kg (11 tons), and is larger than an adult African elephant. Though aggressive and cold towards strangers, Cerberus has nothing but love towards it owner, enjoying a relaxed walk, or rest along side Lucifer. Despite their good guarding skill, Cerbie is rather aloof and calm when not working.

Fire spouts from his ears eyes and mouth when in combat or when excited.

Only the main head of Cerberus is Sentient. The other two being controlled by the main head, thus Cerberus is referred to as a him rather then with they/them pronouns. The main head is primarily used for eating and drinking, with the other two heads functioning as intimidation and also used for attacking prey.

Gets along with: Lucifer, Satan, Luke.

Dislikes: Mammon

Yes I know canonically Cerberus is some Doberman/bully breed, but I thought I’d lean more in to the comedy aspects of OM! By making Cerbie a ChowChow, something far more fluffy, goofy and over all adorable. I still imagine them to be able to be quite intimidating, I mean even a chihuahua the size of an elephant would be scary, but I just wanted them to be a more regal yet cute dog. Plus I’m not for the framing of Bully Breeds and Doberman as “scary dogs” and so I wanted to break the stereotype of them always being intimidating hellhounds.
