Do people realise that the Sun and Moon Show is a passion project?

Because I've seen people act like Reed and Davis are proffessional story writers, and getting way too angry over TSAMS, instead of enjoying it for what it is:

silly, goofy Celestial shenanigans. On YouTube.

Like this show has brought me so much joy, and I've been enjoying the ride, even if it's not something all that serious. It's goofy, that's kinda the point! :D

And all the serious lore on this channel is just the spice to the silly roleplay happening. I don't think TSAMS would be as fun as it is, if it was 100% serious, and not originated as a gameplay/reaction channel. Like the first VRChat "lore" stuff was haha funny Monty scams Sun :), but then the "actual" lore came from the side, and seized us like a bear trap.

Like suddenly, Evil Dorito Man, and I've fallen in love, because the silliness was broken up a bit, but never forgotten. Like it was so fun, when Eclipse, an actual threat, appeared, and then it was more shenanigans! But those shenanigans included Mr. Big Evil Nacho Chip! And the overdramatic silliness continued! :D

The villains have always been overdramatic little (well, "little" in KC's case, lol) bitches! Remember in the first October Takeover, when Eclipse didn't allow Lunar to curse, but he also cursed? Or when KC did all his dramatic entrances, he was so dramatic even Monty had to tell him to stop being dramatic! Or Bloodmoon's dramatic pose on top of the tower before fighting Eclipse (did anyone actually animate the whole fight?), or any of his little baby tantrums? Or the entirety of Ruin (that one is a certified theatre kid, says so himself in the podcast)

TSAMS is such a fun thing, and it's so nice that they post so often (cuz I would be dying if they only posted once a week... imagine the cliffhangers), and we are lucky that they share their roleplay, cuz a lot of people don't, and there are probably other talents hiding in private roleplays, which never see the light of day. So many things we could be missing!

TSAMS is fun. It's goofy fanfic basically, with a serious side that came out of left field. And there are so many angry people on here, like what happened? Did I miss something?

How I feel about this character

i am less insane abt him than i am about vitalasy & zam but this is a low bar. i care a lot about him. i think a lot about how fucking lonely he is, and how .. fundamentally all he wants in s4 is to live happily with his friends and for them to not hate each other. and instead everything falls apart. and he doesn't know how to fix it but he figures it must be his fault and he kills himself about it and this ... looks like it might fix it, for a bit, but that. really does not fix it either. he makes me sad :( in other seasons he . exists i guess. sorry im not a subzguy (void chara voice Some crimes can never be forgiven (not true void would never say this bc theyre too polite))

My unpopular opinion about this character

this is going to be a bit of a reiteration of several of my other unpopular opinions abt other characters I WANT TO READ HIM BEING MORE ABLEISTTTTTT IN FIC like i dont think it's unpopular per se to go "i think that subz is ableist". i think this is an extremely popular opinion. but the general outlook on this is that when fans write him they write a version of subz that isnt ableist. which is like. fair. not everyone wants to write the amount of ableist that subz is, especially because the thing with subz is that c!subz is only ableist bc cc!subz is irl ableist and gets defensive about overly triggered snowflakes when people call him on it. no one should. like. feel obligated to write characters being ableist if they dont want to lol. but also. c!subz is ableist! i want fic that is in character & that includes wanting portrayal of subz being ableist, and as a crazy person i like fic that is willing to explore ableism. i also understand that some ppl probably dont want to write it if they ~cant reclaim~ it but as a certified schizo i am giving everyone who reads this post permission to write subz calling people schizo esp if you're writing canon/non-au. he does that! in canon! a lot! and tbh i feel weirder abt ppl erasing subz's ableism than i do abt ppl writing fictional characters who use the word schizo lol

💛 Her hair grows exponentially faster than most Equestrians’, which she takes advantage of by frequently cutting down her mane and tail to show only the blue-colored base. Celestia actually prefers it this way, but had been told at a young age by Starswirl the Bearded (her mentor/guardian and certified musty old man) that it was necessary she keep her flowing locks as a signifier of her royal status.

💛 She’s a total dork—the most fun-loving, daredevil extraordinaire, prankster, theater kid in all of Equestria. She designed most of the traps/security measures in the Castle of the Two Sisters not only for safety reasons, but also for the fun of watching her clueless sister trip over a concealed booby trap and get sent barreling down a slippery slide into a ball pit. When not tending to her duties as a princess, Celestia can usually be found watching live buckball games and annoying Luna with cheesy puns.

💛 Good friends with the current captain of the royal guard, Flash Sentry. Seeing as his job is to keep a close eye on her at all times—and that his husband is literally her nephew—it was only natural that the two became close pals fairly quickly. At first, Flash was a tad nervous with her sneaking out of the castle to attend midnight movie screenings a few days a week, but it wasn’t long before he actually started enjoying tagging along as her personal bodyguard.

💛 She’d actually been in a committed relationship with Discord long before his accession to the power. I'm guessing, the celestial family doesn't actually remember their birthdays, considering we've never seen anyone celebrate.

It's unlikely for anyone to remember. Neither Sun nor Moon were in the right headspace to really pay attention to it. Not to forget, they wouldn't discover them for a while, so they logically have no idea of the exact date! Lunar themself, on the other hand, has a complicated relationship with time in general, ever since their death!

Earth wouldn't know either, if no one told her.

What if Eclipse remembered? Not the exact event, per say, just this…itch,in the back of his mind, that something happened today? Something important?

starting off this blog with a zenos analysis instead of a pinned lol (i'll get to that later)

i saw a post about an analysis of zenos's rather snarky question-- “Would you be happier if I had a ‘good’ reason? If my motivation met with your approval, would you no longer resent the outcome?”

And I saw a post arguing, yes, it would be better if he had a justified reason, because Endwalker is about making your own reasons to live. But to me, the question is less about Endwalker's main themes and more about foiling the actions of the Ancients.

I think most of us can agree that Emet Selch, Venat, and to a lesser extent, Hermes actions were justified in some way or another. But despite their reasons, it did not stop us, the WoL, from fighting against Emet Selch's plan to unsunder the shards, it didn't stop us from answering Hermes's question, it didn't stop us from going against Venat to save The Source instead of evacuating. We can understand entirely, and put our shoes in these characters and make the same choices they did, but it doesn't stop Emet and Hermes from being antagonists with plans we needed to stop.

So why would Zenos ask such a question of us, why would it matter if he had a justified reason to do what he did from Stormblood on? To me, a certified Zenos liker, I don't think it's about Zenos being justified, or Zenos choosing his own reason to do things. To me, the question serves as a lampshade to how Zenos as a character is, contrasting him with the other, more "justified" villains in FFXIV.

I'd actually argue that it would not be better if he had a justified reason, because Zenos isn't *supposed* to be justified. He's not supposed to be reasonable and selfless. He's a hedonistic sadomasochist and he does things for himself and no one else. If Zenos had a justified reason, it would not make sense and make Zenos feel weaker. He never needed any reason but his own desires to do what he did and he never hid it either.

For Zenos to hide behind the idea of selflessness would diminish his character and his own image-- it would be entirely out of character. Yet he asks us this question, knowing it'll never happen-- he's not really asking us about whether or not he has a selfless bone in his body, he's calling attention to how quickly we sympathize with Emet and Hermes, despite their evils vastly eclipsing his own. He's calling you out, not asking you to imagine him as a selfless hero.

It doesn't matter if he's justified or not, because Zenos isn't that kind of person. Will you still dance with him and play his game, regardless? Will you enjoy your last tryst?
