afraid of love
Tumblr media
Exhausted from the intensity of the night before, you sank into the comforting embrace of your fluffy bed. But even in the tranquility of your room, your mind raced with memories of Eun Woo.
Did he make it to Seoul already?
Images of last night flooded your consciousness like a vivid, intoxicating dream.
Heated kisses on every inch of your body ignited a fire within you, each touch sending shivers down your spine and leaving you breathless with desire. Eun Woo's lips, soft and insistent, traced a path of passion across your skin.
His dark, brown eyes seemed to peer into the depths of your soul, stripping away all pretense and laying bare the raw, unfiltered emotions that lay hidden within. In those moments, it felt as though you were the only two people in the world, lost in a shared intimacy that transcended words.
Your bodies intertwined for hours, moving together in a dance of ecstasy and longing. Every touch was a symphony of pleasure that left you both gasping for breath.
Dirty promises were whispered into your ear, each word sending a jolt of electricity coursing through your veins. In the darkness of the night, with only the sound of your ragged breaths to fill the silence, you reveled in the shared intimacy of your whispered confessions, each promise a testament to the passion that burned between you.
As the night wore on, you both became a canvas for each other's desires, covering each other in colorful marks that served as a physical reminder of the passion that had ignited between you.
And as sleep finally claimed you both, you drifted off in his strong embrace, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat lulling you into a peaceful slumber. In that moment, wrapped in each other's arms, you knew that you had found something special, a connection that transcended the physical and reached deep into the depths of your soul.
Adrenaline flooded your system as you thought off all the things you did last night.
Or three nights prior to that. You matched on a random Sunday, after being abstinent from dating for a long time. Eun Woo was in town only for a couple of days for a video shoot but that didn’t stop him from having a good time.
He had been single for years after having his heart shattered by his first love. Ever since, he toyed with women as he pleased.
The first date was spent in his apartment, eating, and talking, cuddling, and fucking.
He was a passionate lover, even though he was starving for love and affection. The second date was a spontaneous invitation late at night, after all his mandatory meetings had been dealt with.
You repeated the first date’s actions but this time it felt more familiar, already knowing what you liked and needed. Eun Woo gave you his all, adoring you in every way he could.
Until he had to leave.
You remembered the sound of his alarm clock this morning, way too early and too sudden. He shifted in his sleep, groaning as he did not want to leave you.
Kisses on your neck were accompanied by his fingers entering you, sighing in appreciation. “God, you feel so fucking good, y/n.”
Minutes after he was gone, catching his plane back to Seoul. You put your fingers on your lips, looking for the traces he had left. The sudden vibration of your phone brought you back into the present moment.
I landed. Tired as fuck though. How are you?
Missing you.
You didn’t want to get your hopes up – after all he didn’t even live in the same country. This was nothing but a repeated one-night stand, right? You thought back to the conversation you had before falling asleep.
“Do you think there is a future for us?”
He caught you off guard with this question, making you panic to find the right words.
“That depends on how well you treat me, Eun Woo”, you mocked jokingly.
He broke into laughter, loving your sassy side.
“I will love the ground you walk on, my queen. How about that?”
You joined in on his laughter and turned to face him, staring into his beautiful eyes.
“Do you mean it?”
He nodded.
Did you really mean it, though?
Oh, good! Seoul has you back then 😉 Lying in bed and cuddling my plushie since you’re gone…
Did that sound stupid?
Your insecurities churned within you, suddenly you were hyper-aware of everything you said and did.
Haha
That’s it?
You felt sick to your stomach as you took that as confirmation. After all, you were right about him. He only used you for some fun during his trip. And now he’s back in his real life, in which you had no place in.
This was nothing but fun to him. Nothing but a repeated one-night stand.
Brrrr.
Brrrr.
Brrrrr.
What the fuck?
Barely awake you searched for your phone on your nightstand.
3:33 AM.
Who the fuck texts me at this hour?
You were instantly awake as you realized who it was.
Eun Woo.
I have no idea if you’re awake. You’re probably asleep. And I shouldn’t blow up your phone. But I can’t help myself.
Anxiety formed in your stomach.
What was that supposed to mean?
Are you okay?
It took him seconds to answer.
You’re awake? Did I wake you? I’m sorry.
You sat up in bed, anxiously typing your reply.
It’s alright. Why are you up? Everything okay?
You saw him type his reply for minutes, driving you crazy in your heightened state.
No. Nothing is okay. I can’t stop thinking about you.
You swore your heart skipped a beat.
Did I read that right?
I can’t stop thinking about you and it drives me crazy.
You gasped, trying to think of a reply.
You make it sound like it’s a bad thing…
Countless messages followed.
It is. Because you are not here with me. And I’m not there with you. I… I didn’t want to leave you this morning. I wanted to stay. With you, y/n. I really wanted to stay.
You pinched yourself, unsure if this was real.
Ouch.
Definitely real.
I know I sound crazy. Maybe I am. But I have fallen for you. HARD. The last hours I’ve thought about how I can manage to come back to your city. Or how I could persuade you to come visit me in Seoul. I almost popped a blood vessel thinking of ways. What did you do to me?
You chuckled. Relief washed over you, since he felt the same way you did.
I keep replaying last night over and over. How mesmerizing it felt to look into your beautiful eyes. How amazing it felt to kiss you. How mind-blowing it felt to be inside you. Oh god and speaking of blowing. The way your juicy lips wrapped around my cock? I’m losing my mind here, y/n. I’ve jerked off twice and still I couldn’t fall asleep. Or stop thinking about you. I’m a simp now, aren’t I? Look what you turned me into.
You were in shock.
Hours ago, you thought he would abandon you and go on with his life but here he was, confessing his desire for you. Making it obvious that he wants to continue this and get to know you better.
Now is the time to get my hopes up, right?
Do you want me to fly over?
You felt brave asking, believing in your chance at love for once.
Already checking flights, babe.
A broad smile formed on your lips.
I can’t believe this.
He is serious, isn’t he?
I can’t wait to be with you, y/n. I really fucking mean it. And that scares me the most.
You understood him perfectly, especially since the connection between you was so strong. This was nothing like you had ever encountered before. It scared you just as much, but you were willing to try.
Hey, uhm… Wanna be scared together?

you were doing some vocal practice and warm ups with seungmin and jeongin, for the next leg of your dominATE tour in japan, when you got the message from your staff.
“y/n, you will be accompanying seungmin and jeongin to paris for the chaumet party. it’s happening during the paris fashion week,” our manager notified us, walking into the room.
you and seungmin groaned at the same time, harmonising like you usually did on stage. you rolled your eyes at him, and he stuck his tongue out at you.
“why me?” you groaned in a low voice.
“because you’re one of the global brand ambassadors for chaumet?” minho said, waltzing into the room.
“the only one, other than song hye-ko and the cha eun-woo,” jisung pointed out, following minho into the room.
“why are you two here?” you narrowed your eyes at them.
“to watch you writhe in pain as you realise you will be spending a few days with your mortal enemy,” minho replied. he flopped down onto the bean bag. your bean bag.
“get the fuck up! that’s mine!” you said, falling on him and trying to wrestle him to the ground. “you just came here because the air conditioning works really well, you liar.”
“tch, have some respect for your elders—”
“you’re only two years older, that’s barely anything.”
you left home yesterday, on the 4th of march, and arrived today. the event was the next day, so you had a day to yourselves. the three of you coordinated outfits (as per jeongin’s begging) and decided to spend the day roaming through the streets of paris and hoping not to get recognised.
[ seungmin’s outfit . jeongin’s outfit . y/n’s outfit ]
jeongin and you stopped a lot to take pictures in places you dubbed ‘cool’, and seungmin was your photographer when you wanted duo pictures with jeongin.
“yah! I didn’t know you were such a good photographer, min,” you said, the nickname slipping out of habit from your school years.
he turned pink and looked away quickly, but you caught the heat rushing to his face and smirked.
“can we stop for food?” you asked, a little while later. you were all walking with your hands in your pockets as your steps synced with each other’s like second nature. they nodded. “I know your orders, i’ll get them.” you said, pointing to a cafe’s ‘bienvenue’ sign.
seungmin looked at you hesitantly, but didn’t say what he was clearly thinking: stay safe.
“share your live location in our group chat,” jeongin said, and you quickly did.
“there. now don’t worry, and go ahead to the park, i’ll be there in a few minutes.” you assured them, as they walked away.
you step into the cozy cafe, wishing you could live close to a place like that.
“bonjour! je veux un iced americano avec syrup, un iced chocolate ou glacé, et un peach ice tea, s’il vous plaît,” you smiled warmly at the cashier. you studied french for years during high school, so you were proud you still remembered the basics.
the cashier smiled back at you, and gave you your order in a small bag within a few minutes, since the cafe was quite empty.
you walked out, and suddenly two men came in your way. they looked around your age, maybe even a little younger.
“hey, are you y/n? from stray kids?”
“it’s you, isn’t it!”
“I think you’ve got the wrong person,” you murmured, pulling your cap lower on your face and attempting to walk past them.
as you tried to shove your way through the gap between their broad shoulders, they pushed closer, cornering you into a wall.
“just give us one picture and we won’t tell anyone we saw you here,” one of them threatened, lowering his voice. the other’s palm rested against the wall beside your head, towering over you.
you looked down at your feet and your breath came in quick pants, as you started to panic.
one of their hands came to rest on your upper arm and you tensed, curling your shoulders inward into yourself. the heat from his palm radiated directly on your skin through the button-up you were wearing, in a bad way.
before you could say anything, seungmin and jeongin were there and were pulling off the two men by their collars.
words were exchanged between them, and seungmin seemed to get angrier by the second. their voices began to rise, and out of the corner of your eye, you saw jeongin grabbing one of the guys’ collar harshly and pulling him close. he whispered something in a low voice, which you couldn’t hear.
the men’s eyes widened as they glanced at you, and they scrambled off quickly as seungmin rushed to you. jeongin was still glaring into the back of their heads as they ran away.
seungmin didn’t say anything yet. he gave you a once-over with his angry gaze. you knew that his anger wasn’t directed at you, though. he continued to look at you as you still clutched the cafe’s bag tightly, knuckles going white. your breath still wavered as you tried to inhale and exhale.
saying nothing, he put his hands around you, and pulled you closer by your waist. one of his hands moved to rest against the back of your head, which he gently pushed against his chest. his chin rested on your head.
“listen to my heartbeat. feel my breath. try to match your breathing with mine. slowly.” he guided you. “you’re okay now, n/n. i’m sorry we let that happen.” he whispered.
“‘s not your fault,” you mumbled into his shirt.
he said nothing, but his hand tightened around your waist as he pulled you even closer, placing a soft kiss on the top of your head. your eyes were rimmed with tears at the soft moment.
jeongin rushed over, and he enveloped seungmin and you with both his arms. “did anything happen to you, noona?”
your eyes watered even more because of jeongin’s sweetness.
“you guys came before anything could have happened,” you told him, nodding gratefully, slowly. “i’m fine now.”
jeongin let you go. seungmin moved a little further away but his hand stayed linked with yours, rubbing straight lines down the back of your hand.
the three of you walked to the park, and soon you forgot about the interaction with those fans.
“noona! can you take some good pictures of me for my insta?” jeongin pleaded with his exaggerated large doe eyes and a pout.
“i’d do it even without the whole puppy face package, innie,” you laughed. you took out your phone and started directing jeongin like how a director might have done to an actor.
seungmin took a seat on the bench and plugged in his wired earphones. he said he liked the ‘feel’ of the wire, but you’re sure he’s just covering up the fact that he keeps losing his wireless earphones because he’s clumsy.
you had finished taking pictures for jeongin, and gotten the best ones approved by him too. and then, you switched positions so he could take your outfit’s pictures.
“y/n-nie! a little more grunge please,” he directed. you sputtered out a laugh, throwing your head back.
meanwhile, seungmin’s earphones played ‘blue’ by yung kai. it felt like the world had stopped for a while, as he watched you. it was almost as if the universe timed everything perfectly.
the birds stopped chirping and the wind stopped blowing. the earth stopped rotating.
unfiltered sunlight shone on your features. your glowing brown eyes. the curve of your nose. the pink of your lips. the blush on your cheeks from laughing for too long. the way your eyes literally sparkled as you laughed at the maknae.
it all felt like a fever dream to him. in that moment, all he wanted to do was pull you close and kiss you. shout out to the world that you were his, and he was yours.
“seung, what are you thinking so hard about? more ways to get minho-hyung to put hyunjin in the air fryer?” you asked, turning to him. jeongin started laughing, clutching his stomach tightly.
“remember when minho-hyung found out it was seungmin that stuck those pink stickers all over the back of his stage outfit and not hyunjin? he totally lost it!” jeongin wheezed.
seungmin rolled his eyes dramatically and sighed, wondering how he managed to get stuck taking care of two little brats at the same time.
that night, you all fell asleep in a cuddle pile in the huge bed in your hotel room.
the next morning, you were awoken to jeongin’s foot under your nose and seungmin’s arm around your waist as his breath tickled your neck. you let your heart beat faster for a second, and then shove both of them off you, successfully waking them up as well.
“ass-crack of dawn,” seungmin groaned.
“the world hates us,” jeongin cried.
“drama queens,” you muttered as you put on your fuzzy slippers and got down the bed. you stood at the foot of the bed, aggressively pulling the covers off of them.
“good morning, love,” seungmin said, yawning and rubbing his eyes while sitting up on the bed. he stretched his arms out and his nightshirt rode up, exposing his waist.
in your oh-so-victorian-era-man fashion, you slightly gasped at the sliver of exposed skin.
“you look your best in the mornings. when you don’t speak much.” you said quickly.
he looked up, unbeknownst to what you just witnessed, “but I just woke up.”
“I know what I said.”
jeongin shuffled around and sat up, as seungmin made his way to get ready.
you think they both look really cute in the morning, in a way that you would love to bite them out of cuteness aggression (as a joke, obviously).
“let’s go get ready fast, innie, the stylists would be waiting for us.”
in a few hours, the three of you sat in three identical swivel chairs beside each other, facing the large mirror. the staff’s first mistake was giving you swivel chairs. the second was letting you sit next to each other.
you got our cameras out and started a chaumet-racha vlog (a temporary, but obviously cool racha name).
the three of you moved around a lot for food, and kept getting distracted by one of the stylists’ baby. she said she couldn’t find a babysitter, so she got her baby here at the last minute.
instead of letting her apologise, you thanked her for it, and asked for her permission to pick up the baby.
“oh my god, you’re so cute! what’s your name, little munchkin? oh my god, you’re terribly adorable,” you kept cooing at the baby, moving her around in your arms while your hair was getting styled.
“can she be a part of our vlog? please?”  jeongin asked the baby’s mother, and she happily approved, swayed by not-jeongin’s-charm.
you turned on the camera as it faced the baby and you.
“hi again STAY! look who we have here today,” you smiled, lightly nuzzling my forehead with the baby’s. “you’re the cutest baby in the whole world!”
seungmin was watching you with sparkling eyes, as you took care of the baby, who surprisingly didn’t cry even once since you had picked her up.
“have you held babies before, or something?” he asked you.
“…no, seungmin. I have not held babies before.”
“why isn’t she crying?”
“do you want her to?”
“no.”
“then?”
“whatever, you look nice when you’re with children.”
you looked up from the baby and stared at him with wide-eyes. he didn’t look away. you didn’t, either. you could hear the sound of your heart bea—
“oh parents, my parents. please save thy love for a later time.” jeongin said, swooping into the space between us, and stealing the baby away from your hands.
seungmin and you broke eye contact, and the stylists began working again.
jeongin finished his makeup quicker, so he got out of his chair to play with baby. he sat her down on his swivel chair and held her securely before slowly spinning her around.
“does that make you dizzy? or do you not know how dizziness feels since you don’t know the word?” jeongin furrowed his eyebrows, talking to the baby.
seungmin and you were sitting on a nearby couch after you were done, looking at jeongin.
seungmin’s hand was splayed across the back of the couch, close to touching your shoulder.
he dropped his arm to curl around your neck gently.
“it feels like watching our child playing with his younger sister,” he sighed.
“PARENTS! no public display of affection!” jeongin yelled from afar, covering the baby’s eyes. “do not show my shayla all of this!”
“his shayla?” seungmin asked, cocking his eyebrow.
“it’s a tiktok thing. you wouldn’t know.”
he huffed, wrapping his arm tighter around you. more secure. more safe.
“bt the way… you look really pretty already. the dress is going to look even better on you than on that mannequin,” he said quietly, laying his head on your shoulder.
“thanks. the vest is going to have STAY going crazy too.”
“what about you?”
“huh?”
“would you go crazy too?”
“…yeah.”
the company let you rent a limousine for the event.
as you made your way through the roads, the driver passed the aux back to you.
you played one of your playlists on shuffle, and it landed on ‘birds of a feather’ by billie eilish. you had planned to start a karaoke session on the way to the event, so you pointed at seungmin to start with this song.
his angelic voice harmonised with billie’s. the shadows on his face highlighted his cheekbones perfectly. pairing his voice and looks, it felt like he was angel who fell on earth.
you zoned out, staring at him. you could only hear him, nothing else. he stared right back at you as he continued singing.
“birds of a feather,
we should stick together, I know,
till the day that I die.”
the next song was ‘I wanna be yours’ by arctic monkeys, which you called dibs on.
seungmin watched as you sang along to the song with your entire heart in it. it was almost as if you were singing the song with someone in mind.
“secrets I have held in my heart,
are harder to hide than I thought.
maybe I just wanna be yours.
I wanna be yours.”
he looked at you with deep devotion, as if you were the one who hung up the moon and stars. in his eyes, you were a goddess sent to earth.
the songs continued one after the other, and the three of you took turns singing all sorts of songs (though you skipped all of your own songs): ‘take me to church’ by hozier, ‘I wanna be your slave’ by maneskin, ‘bouncy’ by ateez, ‘moonstruck’ by enhypen, and so many more.
you decided on the last song together, for all three of you to sing together for your vlog: ‘blue’ by yung kai.
your voices blended in harmony, creating an almost-ethereal music.
you propped up your camera with the help of the opposite seat as you all sang.
“i’ll imagine we fell in love,
i’ll nap under moonlight skies with you.
I think i’ll picture us, you with the waves,
the ocean’s colours on your face.
i’ll leave my heart with your air,
so let me fly with you.
will you be forever with me?”
you ended the recording a little early because you were nearing the event venue and the stylists had some last minute touch-ups to finish in the vehicle.
you could see the flashing cameras and the red carpet through the tinted window.
seungmin laid his hand gently over yours, and intertwined your fingers.
“all three of us will be together today. don’t worry, and enjoy your time today,” he reassured you.
you nodded as your heart slowed down slightly. “where’d the teasing go, mr. minnie?” you smirked at him.
he groaned, throwing a hand over his face.
“don’t go around saying stuff like that,” he comlains as you laugh.
“yeah? why not?”
“it makes me feel… things.”
“mm? good things? or bad?” you raised your eyebrows smugly.
“very good things.” he smiled slightly.
“shut up.” your heart raced.
“whatever you say.” he nodded, still holding your hand tightly as the vehicle stopped.
jeongin cleared his throat loudly. “i’m not staying with you guys tonight. you’re far too old and disgustingly in love.”
neither of you denied the statement, and your gaze slid to where you held each other.
you took a deep breath, and the door opened. flashes sounded, and fans screamed. it was like stepping into a new world, away from the comforts of your boys.
but one thing remained the same: kim seungmin.
jeongin stepped out before you. reporters started screaming, asking him to look at them.
“sir! how does it feel to be called the 4th gen fashion star, jeongin?”
“jeongin! look here!”
“jeongin-ah, you look stunning, as always! please smile this way!”
you smiled to yourself.
next, seungmin stepped out. the reporters roared again.
“seungmin! can you tell us about any collaborations?”
“mr. kim! please look this way! do you have a girlfriend?”
“how do you think this event will go, seungmin?”
you chuckled loudly this time.
seungmin stepped a little to the side of the door, and extended his arm to help you out.
as soon as you stepped outside, you couldn’t see anything except white flashes and seungmin’s face.
fans screamed from the sides, who you couldn’t see or hear before. you smiled at them and bowed your head a little, thanking them for coming.
“miss y/n! how does it feel being the only girl in an otherwise all-boys group?”
“y/n! what’s your next comeback? could you give us a little spoiler?”
“this way! here! y/n!”
you locked eyes with seungmin, did your secret handshake that you had prepared for the next comeback’s choreography, and started laughing together. the nearby reporters also began to chuckle at you both.
you walked into the venue after waving to some fans. with jeongin lost already (you had his live location), you both decided to stick together for the night, unless you had to interact with someone specifically.
just like you three, sunghoon from enhypen and yeji from itzy were invited as well.
your eyes widened as you made eye contact with sunghoon, your bias from one of your ult groups, one of your old friends.
seungmin followed your gaze, and then rolled his eyes. he leaned down to whisper into your ear in a low voice.
“you look stunning tonight, my love.”
your eyes snapped back to seungmin.
you looked up at him as he slightly towered over you, even if you wore heels.
he leaned down again, and this time you could feel his breath on your ear.
“it’s amazing having a best friend as fine as you. my stargirl.”
this time, a shiver visibly ran down your spine. “if i’m your stargirl, that just means you’ll be my starboy, no?” you whispered.
he smiled to himself and nodded quietly, smiling down at you.
sunghoon was long forgotten, just how seungmin had hoped. he smiled at you, in that evil way of his.
you rolled your eyes. “go grab a drink or something, you scheming minion. i’m going to go talk to yeji there.” you pointed.
he nodded, still smirking, and sauntered away as you walked to yeji.
“my favourite hyunjin’s-best-friend!” she rejoiced.
“my favourite hwang sibling!” you screamed.
you hugged each other quickly. another idol slipped yeji a glass of something to drink, and seungmin did the same for you. as he passed the glass to you, your hands brushed and his gaze lingered for a second too long on you.
yeji and you were pulled away for an interview with someone famous, who was asking you both to talk about what you were wearing today.
yeji went first, describing her all-black outfit, in contrast to your all-white one. you followed suit, reciting all the brands whose products you were wearing.
[ yeji’s outfit . y/n’s outfit ]
you ended your interview with a little bonus for the fans.
“and lastly, I also have something that isn’t of any official brand.” you held up your wrist. seungmin’s thin silver bracelet glinted under the golden light. “one of my members gave me a bracelet they made, before we came to paris, and that’s what I have on my hand right now!”
the interviewer gasped and aw’ed at you.
you felt seungmin staring at the back of your head from a short distance away.
“nice bracelet,” he worded. you read his lips, and smiled.
the interviewer, yeji, and you shared some words and gossips off-record, and then you excused yourself to get to seungmin.
“what’s with the glare?” you asked him.
“that enhypen guy,” he said, clenching his jaw. “he keeps trying to smile and wave at you.”
“you mean sunghoon? my bias? my friend from before my trainee days? that hoon?” you stated, tilting your head slightly.
he peeled his eyes off sunghoon and narrowed them at you. he scoffed, rolling his eyes, going back to typical seungmin behaviour again.
soon, hushed whispers of cha eun-woo’s name floated around the room.
you immediately got excited, ready to meet the other brand ambassador of chaumet himself.
as you made eye contact with him, you began walking towards him. seungmin followed you quietly.
“hi! y/n y/l/n from stray kids, right?” eun-woo asked, bowing a little and holding his hand out to shake yours.
“ah, yes,” you smiled warmly at him, shaking his hand. “I didn’t think i’d meet you already,” you continued nervously.
“what do you mean? you should get used to this! we have so many photo shoots lined up for this year,” he said happily.
seungmin’s eyes widened. you did?
“you have solo shoots with him, pretty?” he whispered in your ear as eun-woo looked away. you turned your neck to met his gaze and narrowed them.
“yes.”
he rolled his eyes. “we don’t get half as many photoshoots with you that other artists collectively do.”
“it’s almost as if i’m famous,” you gasped in mock-surprise, swatting his chest.
at some point in the night, under the red lights and some questionable music, seungmin and you left to a more secluded part of the venue.
you were both slightly drunk, but not enough to not know what was going on around you.
as soon as you reached a discreet corridor, he pulled you against the wall.
“it’s been so hard, just watching you the whole night, being unable to keep my hands off you. you look so beautiful, my sweet girl,” he whispered, his hands on either side of your head caging you between the wall and him.
you inhaled his cologne, and relished the scent that reminded you of home.
“I could say the same about you,” you whispered, leaning dangerously closer to him. “the way you just sassed your way through the interview, and doing nothing when those women were putting their hands all over you.”
“it wasn’t all over me, just my arm,” he teased.
“still counts,” you said in a low voice. “just kept pissing me off—”
“can I kiss you?”
“‘course you can. but I just need one chance to wipe that smirk off her face though—”
he wrapped his fingers around your throat, and his other hand pulled you closer by your waist as he kissed you.
you were reminded of how your first kiss was with seungmin, when you were both 17. you both wanted to try it out, but didn’t have partners. besides, you were just best friends, so it was fine. right?
but now, you weren’t sure if you could call each other just best friends.
“jagi,” he murmured against your mouth, pulling away a little.
you grabbed the collar of his vest, fingers brushing against his neck. “shut up.” you pulled him into another rough kiss.
his hand travelled to the slit in your dress. his warm hand rested on the skin of your thigh. in return, your cold fingers curled through his neat hair, dishevelling it.
“this isn’t a one-time thing. at all,” he said, pulling away.
“I know.”
he kissed you deeply again, but this time it was much softer than before. it was a kiss filled with the promise of love.
“I don’t believe in forever,” he started.
“but just this moment, being with you,” you continued.
“I want to believe in eternity with you,” he whispered, bringing your hand to his mouth, pressing a kiss to each of your knuckles, maintaining eye contact.
“I love you,” you whispered.
“I love you,” he said, face illuminated under the moonlight. “and i’m never letting you go.”
“ever.”
you locked pinkies in the quiet promise of eternal love.
ꗃ﹕ bonus . . .
“everyone get up! let’s run through the dance one last time,” chan called out to the tired members lying on the floor.
everyone gathered in their spots, except for hyunjin and han.
chan stalked over to them, where they were huddled watching something on minho’s phone, giggling like little school children.
chan leaned over them to get a look at the screen.
it was a fan edit of two of his members—seungmin and y/n, to weeknd’s song ‘starboy’ mashed with the ‘stargirl interlude’. the audio synced with y/n saying the word “starboy to seungmin, and him calling her “stargirl”. the clips were fan-taken at the chaumet event, which made chan chuckle as well.
“I guess they finally realised who the other’s life-long crush was,” he muttered to himself, dragging hyunjin and han by their ears to their practice positions.

Lee Dong Min
Cha Eunwoo (ASTRO)
Deck: Mythic Goddess Tarot
Spread: Ideal Partner
Body - XVIII The Moon (Selene - Illusion)
Eunwoo’s significant other shouldn’t be taken at face value. They might seem plain or even invisible but they possess great intuition. They literally flow through life and simply bypass difficulties or obstacles on their way. Their voice might be quiet, deep, and nearly hypnotic. Their eyes are usually veiled as they often introspect. Maybe they don’t talk often but when they do, it turns out to be true. Their intuition is more accurate than other people’s certainty, therefore they are considered to be very wise and perceptive.
Heart - 8 of Swords (Restriction)
While Eunwoo’s ideal partner’s intuition is casting the light on their way, they might feel trapped at heart. They might feel like others simply don’t understand them, and can't keep up with the flow of their thoughts. And it’s possibly true, as this person is likely highly intelligent and probably prefers to observe others and study them then to actually socialise. They might seem to be standing outside all the social circles, watching calmly and staying out of the drama.
Spirit - 5 of Wands (Conflict)
Seemingly calm and untouchable, Eunwoo’s destined lover is likely battling themselves deep inside. They might feel torn between the desire to stay above things and the need to actually share their ideas and thoughts with others. They genuinely believe they could make the world a better place, if only all those people quieted for a little bit and listened to what they had to say. Eunwoo’s ideal partner likes to stick to the facts and prefers to solve issues with a cool head while people around them are loud and easily give in to their emotions, which can feel frustrating and chaotic.
Soul - 3 of Cups (Friendship)
Deep down in their soul, Eunwoo’s special person is a warm and friendly creature. They might not know how exactly to express it, they might feel and act awkward when they try to show affection, but they truly care. They have a kind heart, good sense of humour and they actually love to smile and laugh. Only need someone to find someone who will actually make the effort to approach them and make them chuckle. Once they are close to someone, they become so adorable and playful.
Time - Ace of Cups (Tenderness)
It is possible Eunwoo already knows or met his perfect match. They might have become friends. However, Eunwoo will never consider them anything more until they overcome the natural shyness and show their more tender and loving side to him. It might come as a pleasant shock to Eunwoo to suddenly realise that the person he always considered to be reliable and wise, is also attractive in a different way. Once he makes this discovery, there’s no way back, though. Falling in love is inevitable and fatal.
Place - 6 of Wands (Triumph)
If Eunwoo decides to share a home with his special person, it’s gonna be a success on all fronts. They simply click, they create an inspiring and warm home full of fun, love and laughter. They might even incite a bit of envy in others as Eunwoo and his lover become stronger and more powerful when they are together.

Korean Teacher - Cha Eun-Woo
Summary: Learning Korean with your Korean boyfriend, you might think it'll make it easier, but the reality is something else.
Pairing: Cha Eun Woo x Foreigner reader
Warnings: None
Type: Fluuuff
Words count: 1,1K
..................................................................................
Tumblr media
You had some notions in Korean, since you're dating Eunwoo, it is common for him to teach you some few words if you asked. But you still spoke only English with him, it was a miracle that he was fluent in this language. So you could understand each other easily, but you felt kinda sad to not being able to understand his friends and family, and you couldn't imagine how annoying it could be for your boyfriend to translate everything you're saying to his Hyung, MJ.
You were back in Korea for a few weeks to visit Eunwoo and you had the idea of starting to learn the language with him. What better way to learn Korean than with your Korean boyfriend. It sounded like a good idea but as soon as you open your books, you don't understand a thing.
"Babe... Help !" You shouted across the room. You heard a giggle before he appears behind you, he puts his chin on your head and look at the book describing the whole alphabet. "How on hearth am I supposed to pronounce that ?" You complain as you point to one of the letter (ㄱ). "It's between a G and a K" He explains, but it just makes you even more confused.
"Repeat after me sweetheart" He says before pronouncing the letter slowly, you frown slightly, trying to figure out how to use your mouth to say it. A laugh escape his lips when you try to reproduce the sound he made, you then punch on his arm, making him laugh even more. "Stop making fun of me !" You pouted as you cross your arms on your chest, looking straight to the sheets. "I'm sorry, but I can't help it." He manages to murmur after he finally stopped laughing. "Don't worry babe, it's not that hard I promise." He gently said before placing a soft kiss on your left cheek.
•••
You give your sheet to Eunwoo, hoping that your answers will be correct. He made a little exercise for you. You had to write the letter of each symbol of the Hangul alphabet. You looked at his facial expression while he was reading your work to see if they were any false response.
After a few minutes of torture, he finally sends you a big smile, and you immediately understood. You quickly get up from your chair and jump everywhere in his dorm. Eunwoo was melting at your reaction, he was also so proud of you for making such progress in this small period of time.
You let yourself fall on his lap before putting your legs on each side of his legs, your arms making their way around his neck. His made directly their way around your waist, squeezing you a little closer to his chest. "I'm so proud of you Y/N !" He said in a sweet voice. "Well, thanks to you !" You whisper before putting a soft kiss on his lips. He immediately responded to your gesture, kissing your lips with all his love.
Your heart hurt slightly when he pulls away. As you open your eyes again, you meet his mesmerizing gaze. "Now that you know the alphabet, you should start writing words !" He proposes, and you let out a big sigh, making him giggle as your head fall on his shoulder. "Can we at least take a little break ?" You asked in your cutest voice, knowing he couldn't resist it.
It was his turn to sigh. "Okay, but only for five minutes." He said before lifting you up. Your legs warped tightly around him, he carries you to the couch, so you can cuddle for 5 minutes...
•••
You were laying on him, your head hiding in the crook of his neck. You felt so peaceful as your eyes were shut, but you suddenly jumped when he puts his large hand on your butt in a slight slap. You raise your head and push a sigh while a giggle comes out of Eunwoo's mouth. "Come on, let's get back to work !" You let a death rattle come out of your mouth, indicating him that you had no motivation to continue your studies.
Your boyfriend chuckled. "나는 당신을 너무 사랑해" He said in a murmur. Obviously, you didn't understand a word, and you quickly got up. "May I have the translation ?" You asked in a curious voice. He got up after you. "You'll only know if you learn Korean." He teases you before making his way into the desk table, where your course was still resting.
You growl as you follow him. You sit back on your chair and Eunwoo take a seat next to you. "Let's do an exercise, I'll say some words, and you will try to write them in Hangul." You nod your head as you grab your pen and sheet of paper, and he starts with the first words.
Surprisingly, you were doing pretty good, they were some mistakes of course, but not as much as you expected. You were covered in compliments from your man, who was more than proud. He was walking around the room as he was looking for some words to tell you when an idea crosses his mind. He stood behind me and leans to whisper in your ear "사랑해"
Your heart skips a beat, it was one of the few words in Korean that you already knew. A little smile appear on your lips as you write the symbols exactly like you remembered on your sheet, then you turn your head to the side to meet his gaze. "I love you too." You said in a sweet voice. It's his turn to smile like a child which warms your heart. And before you could say a thing, he cups your face between his hands and crushes his lips on yours into a passionate but soft kiss. Your lips move together into a slow dance as you smile against it. Your hand travel his chest before they reach his neck, your fingers tingled into his hair as you make the kiss a little more heated. You feel his tongue asking for entrance. You slightly open your mouth only to meet his tongue half way.
After long seconds of making out, he finally pulls out. You two are out of breath as he locks his forehead with yours. "I think you deserved another break." He said in a whisper before he lifts you up from your chair, picking you up to the couch again.

Just because pt.2
A/n: if you haven’t read my update, here it is. So this is part 2, yeah hope you enjoy! The next part, things will get heated, but I know some people do not want to read those kinds of things, so I will make two types, one that is family friendly, and the other rated PG 13. But this is it for now! I will work on Work of Art next!
Cha Eun Woo fluff, College AU, friends with benefits
Word count: 3,173
“Eun woo? Where have I heard that name before?” You extend your hand and shook it. “Y/n.” You were smiling through your anger and progressively squeezed his hand harder and harder. Eun woo yanked his hand away and shook it in pain.
“Strong grip.” His eyes moved from his hand to your mischievous smirk, “Thanks, I try!” You said mockingly and scowled at both of them. Eun Woo raised his hands up surrendering and feeling threatened by your actions, “Okay, I get it. You’re mad that we-”
“We? No it was all you bro.” The other guy interrupted. Eun woo slapped him hard on the stomach that he fell on his knees. “Okay- it was my fault too.” He said in a tone of pain. You turned your face away from them and snorted a little. You caught Eun woo’s attention and he gave out a little chuckle as well.
“I guess I should introduce him as well. This is Minhyuk, but we call him Rocky.” He pointed at him on the floor and Minhyuk waved his hand as he was still in great pain. You raised your eyebrow wondering why that was his nickname, “Rocky?”
“Well, it’s because… you know.” the boy pointed down to his crotch. You nodded and cringed when you got the idea, “Ahh, great to know.” You suddenly felt a grab on your wrist and you got yanked away. It was Kayla, “What on earth do you think you’re doing?”
“What do you mean?” you furrowed your eyebrows not knowing what she was going on about, “That’s Cha Eun Woo!” you looked at her confused, “You know, the one I was talking about! With Astro?” The light bulb in your brain immediately turned on, “Ohh I knew I heard that name before.” She grabbed you by the arm and walked away from them, “They are the most popular frat in this whole school. Remember the food chain! You’re going to get eaten by every girl. Everyone has their eye on Eun Woo, no correction, on Astro. You mess with one, you mess with all.” There was silence, “I just don’t want to find you in a deep hole. It’s happened before.” You chuckled, “You’re too dramatic. Anyways, what happened with that senior?” you said to change the topic.
“Oh him? Well, we exchanged numbers. We hit it off pretty fast.” You nudged her in the arm. “Okay! So when are you going to meet again?” She shrugged, “Not sure, maybe tonight.”
“Tonight?! Wow, you sure move fast.” You looked at your phone, it was time for your next lecture. You said your goodbyes and left to go to the room. It was the slowest class you ever had. You didn’t even know why you took this course. You replayed the moments in your head with Eun Woo. You get why so many girls chase after him. He’s tall, he has great cheekbones, the way those eyes twinkle. Wait! Snap out of it! I can’t go for him, I don’t want to end up in a ditch. She could just be exaggerating, but girls can do crazy shit sometimes.
You learned nothing from that lecture besides how to kill time without using your phone. Once you exited the hall, you whipped out your phone and looked at all your notifications. You got a text from Kayla, “Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I have a lecture after yours so I got lunch without you. Don’t hate me too much, see ya later!” You groaned and searched up where to eat. A couple of steps later, you bumped into someone.
“Sorry! I wasn’t look-” You looked up and saw a familiar face.
“Ahh, y/n was it? Remember me?” Eun woo. How could you not? He was just on your mind the whole lecture. You knew you had to get away from him before anyone could see you with him.
“Umm yeah. Okay nice to see you again got to go bye!” you said hurriedly. He grabbed you by the wrist and turned you towards him, “wanna grab lunch together?”
“Uhh, no it’s okay! I don’t have money anyways. Okay bye!” You try to walk away again, but he just pulled you right back.
“Wait!” He looked closer at your face, “You seem nervous.” You turned your face away and he laughed, “It’s okay, I’ll pay.” He dragged you through the halls, ran through the field and across the street to a quaint little cafe. He sat you down and took a seat in the chair across from you. You were still catching your breath.
“Did… we… really… have to… RUN!” You started to fan yourself when you felt beads of sweat forming on your forehead. He let out a soft chuckle and looked at your tomato colored face, “So, what do you want? My treat.”
“For making me run?! Yes you do owe me!” you rolled your eyes. He chuckled making you smile ever so faintly. “Surprise me, as long as you get me something cold to drink.” He looked at the menu and got up, “Okay wait here.”
“It’s not like I have the energy to go anywhere!” You yelled at him. He gave you a thumbs up as he walked up to the counter. A few minutes later, he came back with two blt bagels and one glass of nestea with ice.
“Here you go.” He set down a bagel and the glass in front of you and sat down. His mouth was drooling as he picked up his bagel and took a big bite stuffing his cheeks with food.
“Thanks. Did you not get a drink yourself?” He pointed at the one glass. He shoved his food in his cheeks so he could speak.
“I have one right here.” He continued to chew and take multiple bites from his bagel.
“What? Isn’t this mine?”
“Who said we can’t share? Sharing is caring you know.” He took another bite filling his mouth even more.
“Don’t talk while you chew you pig or else you’ll-” Eun woo started coughing violently, “choke.” He grabbed the glass and chugged down almost a half of the whole drink. You snorted as you saw him struggle, “That’s what you get.” You took a bite out of your bagel as he was still recovering. After a few seconds he stopped coughing and caught his breath.
“So when’s your next lecture?” He asked. You swallowed your food and spoke, “5:00.” He raised up his eyebrow liking the sound of what he heard, “I guess we have some time to get to know each other.” You scoffed and leaned closer to him, “Who said I’ll stay with you until then.” He paused thinking for a moment, “I’ll buy you ice cream.”
“Deal, so…” He laughed at how easy it was to convince you. It was surprisingly fun hanging out with him. You found out a lot about him, and he found out a lot about you. You talked about each others’ childhood, your elementary and high school days, how he never kissed a girl before.
“What? You’ve never kissed a girl before?” He shook his head chuckled, “Nope. Surprising huh? I never told anyone that besides Astro.” You leaned back in your chair and crossed you arms, “Interesting. One of the most popular guys in school never kissed a girl before.”
“Unless you count a kiss in grade 2 from this random girl in my class.” he shrugged. You shook your head, “No, doesn’t count.” You opened your phone to check the time. It was 4:50, “Well, this was fun, but I better get going.” You get up and tuck in your chair.
“Wait, let me get your number, so we hang out again.” You thought for a moment. You don’t even know this guy, and according to Kayla, he’s bad news. But he seems harmless to you, might as well do it, “Umm, sure.” You two exchange numbers. You saw him with a big smile on his face as you typed your number in his phone.
“I’ll see you later!” he exclaimed. You waved good bye and walk to your lecture. You couldn’t help but smile the whole time.
Your class went by in an instant and got back to the dorms. You opened the door and it was empty, no sign of Kayla anywhere. However, you saw a yellow sticky note on your bed and picked it up.
Hey, I’m not going to be coming back tonight. I’ll be with the hot senior guy. Don’t worry! I won’t do anything foolish, and I hope you didn’t either with Eun Woo. Don’t think I didn’t see you. We’ll talk about it later.
Kayla X
You rolled your eyes and threw the paper in the garbage. You rolled your suitcase to your bed and set it. You unpacked everything and it took you a good 2 hours. You then heard your phone vibrate.
Tumblr media
It was Eun Woo. You jumped on your bed and opened your phone.
You: Nothing, just unpacking. I’m done though
Eun Woo: Oh really? Do you mind if I call you?
You: Why do you wanna call me?
Eun Woo: I just feel like it
You: Why don’t you just hang with your frat boy friends?
Eun Woo: They’re out
You: Why aren’t you with them?
Eun Woo: They didn’t wake me up and went without me
You: aww boohoo ;P
Eun Woo: I’m actually going to call you
You: Go ahead
Eun Woo: Really??
You got a phone call from him, but you let it ring and didn’t answer.
Eun Woo: Wow, what a tease -_-
You: I said you can call, I never said I was going to answer ;D
Eun Woo: Fine! I don’t want to talk to you anymore, good night.
You: Now it is :p
You set down your phone on your stomach and counted to three. When you go to three, your phone vibrated again. You let out a soft giggle and looked at your screen.
Tumblr media
You: Fine, since I’m such a nice person, I’ll let you.
You instantly got a call from him and you picked it up.
“So what do you want?”
“Wow, no hello? No how are you doing?”
“Oh I’m sorry, hi. Now what do you want?”
“Can I not call you?”
“Considering we just met, yeah it’s kind of weird.”
“Are we not friends? I mean, you know almost everything about me and I know everything about you.”
“Okay you have a point.”
“Exactly.”
“But seriously, we could’ve just texted, I have minutes.”
“It takes so much effort to text!”
“Please, I actually have minutes!”
“Fine.” He hung up and texted you. You two texted the whole night. There were times where you said to stop at a certain time, but you just exceeded it and kept going. You knew you messed up when your alarm went off. “No, it can’t be 7 already!” It was indeed.
You: WE TEXTED ALL NIGHT!
Eun Woo: What? It’s already morning?? No way
You: Check your clock idiot, I have to get ready! I have my lecture in 10 minutes!!
Eun Woo: Why did you set your alarm that late then?
You: SHUT UP! GOTTA GO
You flung yourself up and rushed to your closet. You took out a giant sweater and your sweats. You grabbed your bag and ran out the door. You went as fast as you can to the hall. Luckily, you made it. Once you sat down and the professor started to talk, you suddenly felt how tired you were. Your eyes were heavy and your head fell on your desk at some point making some of the people around you concerned.
You walked out of that lecture hall all slouched trying not to pass out. You had your hood on and looked down on the floor while you walked through the campus. You then felt a hand on your shoulder. It took so much energy just to turn your body to the person. It took some time to process who it was and what it wanted. Your first focus was the cup of coffee. You snatched it out of the person’s hand and chugged it. A millisecond later you coughed feeling the heat on your tongue and down your throat.
“Not even a thank you?” It was a familiar voice. You looked up, it was Eun Woo. Of course he was here. You stopped feeling the pain and responded, “Thanks.” you said in a monotone.Eun Woo scanned you from head to toe, “You look like a mess.”
“Again, THANKS!” You were grumpy and didn’t want anything to do with him right now.
“I have a lecture in a few minutes. Catch up with you later.” He smiled and patted your head. You groaned and took another sip of your coffee. You kept walking until you jutted forward almost falling. The person took your hood off and turned to face him/her, “What do you think you’re doing (y/n)? Trying to hide?” it was your roommate.
“Oh hi Kayla.” you sounded dead, maybe because you were, dead tired.
“You look like shit, BUT WE HAVE MANY MATTERS TO DISCUSS!” She grabbed you by your bag and walked fast down the hall. Your legs couldn’t keep up that you fell and she was dragging you down the hall. You just enjoyed the ride and sipped on your coffee while everyone just looked at you. You got outside and she dragged you on the cement to the grass and finally stopped. She was panting while you just sat there finishing your cup of joe.
“Did you finally find the treasure?” You snorted.
“Ah, I see you got some energy, but no joking around right now! We are alone and I can talk to you, AND SMACK SOME SENSE INTO YOU!” You turn to face her still sitting on the floor.
“What did I do?” you threw your hands up in the air and she just glared at you, “YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING!”
“Is this about Eun Woo?”
“No… it’s about Santa, OF COURSE IT’S ABOUT EUN WOO!” she sat down next to you. You patted her thigh trying to calm her down, “Maybe you want to lower your voice, there are eun woo fangirls everywhere.” You could see her get red and try not to strangle you at that moment. She took a deep breath in and out.
“Okay, I’m calm. I wouldn’t be bringing this up over and over again  if it wasn’t serious. Girls got injured, there are so many crazy fans. It’s not like they’re real life celebrities, but they are the celebrities of our school. We need to keep the food chain. If the ones at the bottom try to climb up, they will be knocked down by the people in the middle.”
“First of all, Eun Woo and I are just friends! That’s all we are! And second, I don’t give a shit about the crazy girls. If they hurt me, then they will. Just trust me, I will stay safe. I know you’re just looking out for me, and I appreciate that, but I’m an adult now. I can take care of myself okay?” You put your hands on her shoulder and looked her in the eyes.
“Okay, I trust you. But remember, I will be here if something happens and to say I told you so.” She laughed and gave you a hug. Both of you fell on the grass and looked at the clouds.
“How was yesterday with the guy?”
“Let’s just say, we’re seeing each other again tonight.”
“Oh? You do move fast.” both of you chuckle and she nudged your side.
“Nothing happened… yet.”  both of you break into laughter as you playfully hit her in the stomach.
An hour past when you got another text.
Tumblr media
“Who’s that?” she looked at you. You rolled you eyes, “Eun Woo.” you said annoyed.
“What does he want?”
“To meet up in the library.” you sit yourself up and put your phone in your pocket. Kayla sits up as well and smiles, “Go have fun. I have a class anyways right now.” You look at her in awe, “You’re actually not going to hold me back?”
“You’re an adult, and I trust your decisions.” Both of you sat up and hugged each other goodbye.
“Call me or text me the details later.” she yells at you as you walk away.
“I will, have fun with you man tonight.” Both of you part ways. You text him back and meet up with him there. He said to go to the history section and go all the way in the back. You were suspicious about the spot, but when you saw him, he was just on his phone with his bag. He looked up and gestured you to come. You walk down the row and sat next to him.
“Tell me why you chose this spot?” you whispered.
“So no one sees us.” he grinned and winked at you. You pretended to gag and sat down next to him, “Why don’t you want anyone to see us?”
“You want a bunch of girls to bother us?”
“Good point.” You took off your bag and took out your notebook and pencil. But you wondered, “why specifically the history section?”
“You really think anyone would search for history books?”
“Okay true. Let’s work!”
You take out your books while Eun Woo just stayed on his phone, “Are you not going to work?” He looked at you confused, “Umm, no.”
“Then why’d you even bring me to the library?”
“Because it’s a quiet place for me to sleep.” You shook your head.
“And I know you need to get your work done. You probably got no notes down for your lecture.” He rummaged through his back and took out a few sheets of paper with writing on it. You looked at every side of each paper, “What’s this?”
“The notes from that class. Go ahead and copy it.” he gestured to the paper. You turned to face him almost beaming with joy, “How’d you get it?”
“I’m one of the most popular guys in this school, everyone knows me and they give me anything I ask. Especially the girls.” you rolled your eyes and put the papers next to you, “You disgust me.”
“My disgusting self got you these notes. Do you want them or not?” he reached for the pile, but you stopped him, “No, I’ll take them. Thank you.” You took out some lined paper and immediately started to copy it. Even if you were focused on your work, you can still see Eun Woo in your peripheral vision. He was looking at you. You turned your head to him and he moved his attention back to his phone. You ignored it and continued to write. You felt his presence again staring at you.
“You have anymore lectures?”
“No why?”
“Wanna go to the frat house?”

Silence follows that last statement, with Pil-woo needing a few moments to understand what his father means. This whole evening he’s been belittling you, making you feel worthless, and now he’s admitting that you are, in fact, smart.
That’s something Pil-woo has known all along of course; he’d hoped it would be enough (amongst many other wonderful qualities) for his father to like you, and hopefully one day, love you just as Jimin wants, but now he realises what his dad means…
Pil-woo has many words to describe his father, and while he’d like to say they’re mostly good, the only one he can think of right now is manipulative.
“Are you being serious?” Pil-woo stares at his father incredulously. “You knew from the start didn’t you?”
Deok-su doesn’t look at Pil-woo despite the tone his son speaks to him in; he knows he’s been unfair in his treatment of you and of course Pil-woo would be angry. It’s the same reason he tried to keep calm with Jimin. He knows he’s not asking for something small but this is important to him.
“What? That she’s smart or that she’s going to be the one to break your son's heart?”
At the ease with which his father says it, Pil-woo fails to come up with a response, taken aback by his nonchalance.
“Because if you mean the former,” Deok-su continues, “I knew that from the start, and regardless of what Jimin or you or Eun-ae may think, I have respect for Y/N and it’s clear to me that she’s a bright young woman who will undoubtedly go far.”
“W-what? What d’you mean…? What does mom think?” Pil-woo asks, so bewildered by his dad’s ability to be unkind that he fails to process the compliment he just gave you (despite being meaningless in the situation).
He pauses, somewhat stiffening. “Nothing. But as for the latter,” he continues, “I figured that out this evening. Her decision to stay for dinner told me that much. I could see she was uncomfortable and not just because of Bong-cha, but with everything.”
“You did it on purpose,” Pil-woo says, exasperated. “You’ve been using her and Jimin, like pawns!”
“This isn’t a game to me,” Deok-su answers sharply, turning to him. “You’re mistaken if you think that.”
“Then what is it?” Pil-woo snaps loudly, and this time he doesn’t care that he’s talking to his father. He feels as though he’s been too complicit today, idly standing by and watching as his father made a fool of you for whatever reason. Deok-su has always prided himself on being a man of respect, but his actions today have been far from respectful and Pil-woo knows that.
Following his question, Deok-su turns away and silence ensues, and then Pil-woo begins to realise…
Taking a step closer, his voice is quieter as he asks, “This isn’t about Jimin, or Y/N, is it?”
His father meets his gaze, staring at him rather emptily. “I’ve told you this before,” he says, his tone no longer emotionless, but somber. “Love isn’t what it’s made out to be. I’m saving Jimin from learning that the hard way.”
At his father’s words, Pil-woo feels some of his anger dissipate.
“Maybe not to everyone,” Pil-woo responds quietly. “But you’re forgetting one thing… my son isn’t you.”
Tumblr media
The journey back to your apartment is mostly silent. Both Jimin and you have thoughts weighing heavy on your mind and hearts.
You’re feeling thoroughly humiliated but equally guilty because of the thoughts that are filling your head, and it makes you feel selfish:
For years you’ve been subjected to this kind of humiliation by peers and others who thought of you foolish for trying to aim so high with your education and career; you proved them all wrong and succeeded, becoming as successful as your two siblings who went through the same thing. So this isn’t unfamiliar to you, but it’s not welcome. Not when you’re tired of it, and know you deserve more.
Staying with Jimin (if that’s even a choice for him,) will only mean further taunts and reminders that you’re not good enough for him, and you’re not sure if you can go through that again. Not when you’ll also be constantly questioning whether Jimin will ever regret his decision to disobey his granddad’s dying wish.
You can already see how much he’s struggling now; you’re certain that regardless of his love for you, he’ll always feel disappointed he couldn’t please his grandpa. You’ve seen how much he cared for him over the years, and you know this isn’t easy for him.
When he came back into the lounge to ask you if you wanted to leave, you said yes because you had enough of the pitiful smiles from Eun-ae. But you could also see that Jimin himself wanted to leave.
Even now, as he drives, he frequently tightens his fingers around the wheel and bounces his leg anxiously at every light.
When your apartment complex comes into sight, you feel relieved, wanting only to return to the safety of your own home, your own space.
Jimin parks his car in the spot he’d hired out so many months ago now, and he still rushes over to open the car door for you.
It’s something he’s done countless times — including when he slips his fingers between yours and leads you up to your apartment — and it still warms your heart, and now more so than ever given the silent tension that lingers between you.
Jimin never fails to make sure he shows his love for you. It reminds you of the first weekend you spent at his apartment, after you were filled with doubts when his dad showed up  — Jimin was so hopeful then too, so certain that the both of you could make this work, simply because he loves you.
How foolish you’d been. Even when he kissed you in his office, all it took was those words: you’re my lucky star, remember? It was the romance of it all that had you falling right back into his arms, the romance of a perfect love story between you and him, meant to be.
But even then, deep down, you knew something like this would happen, although the reality is so much worse.
You hadn’t expected Jimin’s granddad to have his life slipping past like an hourglass, and at the end of it comes the end of your relationship. But reality is often harsh — you learnt that many times growing up.
You can’t always get what you want, and sometimes you can, you just have to try and fight for it. Your mom told you that many times growing up and you remember what she said to you that day at Gi’s. She promised that if you both loved each other then it would work…
But this is your reality now — Jimin and you both tried and it doesn’t seem to be enough.
Unlocking your door, you step into your apartment with Jimin close behind you. The sound of your heels echo across the wide hall and you come to a slow stop, turning to face Jimin, his features clear to you even in the dim evening light.
He’s looking at you with the same love as he always does, but this time there’s more — he’s thinking the same as you… you can see it in his expression.
A moment passes with you both standing silently, the events of the past few hours playing in your head, and it kills Jimin when he thinks about the last conversation he had with his grandpa, the one you don’t even know about yet. He can’t tell you, he won’t, because he knows that’ll be the final straw for you.
But it’s as though you’re already thinking that, because you look away to the floor, fiddling with the purse you’re holding. Jimin thinks back to when you chose it just a few hours ago — how worried you were about making the wrong style choices because you so badly wanted to impress his grandparents. He reassured you it would be okay, but right now everything feels far from okay…
Wordlessly, Jimin steps forward and wraps his arms around you. He holds you tighter when you return the hug, and you can hear a voice telling you that this is it, you know what you want to say to him and he knows it too.
But he’s tired, you can feel it. He’s holding onto you as though you’re his lifeline and it makes it so much harder when then the voice in your head gets louder with every moment that passes.
Your eyes press shut as you will your tears away, making sure they don’t stain the crisp material of Jimin’s shirt. You don’t want to cry because you know it’ll only make Jimin feel worse and it won’t help either of you. But neither does standing here in each other’s arms.
“Jimin,” you murmur, trying to move back but Jimin doesn’t let you, and instead he moves his hand to your head to keep you close.
“Please don’t say anything,” he croaks, sighing into your shoulder. “Just let me hold you.”
The sentiment tears your heart apart, especially knowing JImin is barely keeping it together himself. Even without telling you about those final words Deok-su said to him, it already feels like the end of something between you.
“Jimin,” you mutter, forcing yourself back with a firm hand. “We have to.” Your eyes meet his and he shakes his head, already trying to pull you back in.
“It’s fine, just give me some time and I’ll work it all out, okay?” He’s pulling you gently by the arm but you close your hand around his arm to stop him.
A few months ago you would’ve easily fallen back into his arms, reassured by his promise to make things work. You have fallen back into his arms just like that many times before, but now…
You swallow, shaking your head as you speak in a quiet voice, afraid to hurt him. “Jimin, you don’t have time.”
Jimin stills, the words settling into his mind for the first time. He kept ignoring it before, pushing it away and hoping things would work out. Today was supposed to be that day, the day where his grandpa would meet you and realise he was wrong. But it wasn’t. If anything, it made things worse.
Grip loosening on your arm, Jimin lets his hand drop and now he avoids your gaze. Turning away, he walks into the kitchen and pours himself a drink. Your words repeat themselves over in his head and he racks his brain for options, and each time he comes up short.
He stays silent as he drains the glass, and then pours another.
You’ve since followed him into the kitchen and you stand on the other side of the counter. But when he pours the second glass, your concern heightens.
“Jimin…?” you say his name, walking tentatively around the island, but making sure to keep some distance between you because you’re far from immune to Jimin’s touch and right now you need a clear head.
He doesn’t respond when you say his name, instead he tilts his head back and drains the glass again.
“Jimin,” you say more firmly this time.
He puts the glass down and doesn’t refill it, but rests his palms against the counter and exhales quietly, eyes closing.
You know he’s struggling and you wish you could take away all of his problems for him, and you can take away at least some of them. It’s what you’ve been thinking all evening, and you know it’ll be hard for you but you’d do anything to make things easier for Jimin, even if they might not seem like it right now, but it will be.
It takes you a few moments to collect yourself, to figure out what you need to say, and when you do, you make sure to look away from Jimin.
“I really appreciate how you looked after me today,” you say quietly. Jimin stays still, but you know he’s listening. “I know it wasn’t easy for you, none of this has been—”
“It hasn’t been easy for you either,” he interrupts, still looking down at the bottle in front of him.
“No, it hasn’t, but it’s been harder for you. It’s not my…” you pause, choosing not to finish that sentence because Jimin is well aware that it’s not your grandpa who’s dying. Besides, you know he knows what you were going to say. In fact, you know he knows everything you’re going to say, so you don’t beat around the bush, and instead cut to the chase.
“It’s unfair that he’s not giving you much of a choice, and I know you don’t want to say no to him… but he’s not entirely wrong.” From the corner of your eye, you see Jimin lift his head and look at you, but you know you have to say everything so you keep talking.
“That day you tried to pull me off the deal with Tobias, Geun-woo came into my office and asked me what happened between us, and I told him. I didn’t know then, obviously, that we would get together, but I saw things differently then. It was easier to see things from a different perspective when I didn’t have you like I do now,” you admit, steeling yourself to finish what you need to say. “Your grandparents want what’s best for you, Jimin, and they don’t think I’m—”
“Y/N, stop,” Jimin mutters, taking a step towards you but you quickly take one back, still avoiding his gaze, and he stops.
“They’ve raised you to be the amazing man you are today, and they clearly did a good job with that, but they still want more for you. And right now, that’s you getting married to Bong-cha and I have no right to come in and change what they’ve always wanted for you—”
“What about me?” Jimin exclaims. “What about what I want?”
Only now do you look up at him, your heart splitting at the sound of his voice and it shatters when you see the hurt in his expression, no doubt from everything you’re saying. But there’s a part of him that knows there’s truth in it. He knows it as well as you do.
Biting back your tears forcefully, you let yourself voice the fears that settled in from the moment you pulled up in the drive of Jimin’s family home.“You might want this now but what if you realise they’re right, Jimin? What if I can’t be who you want me to be?”
“Y/N, what are you talking about?” Jimin says, much softer this time. “You’re you and that’s perfect for me, you’re perfect to me!”
“No, I mean everything I saw today — the big house, the maids, the butlers, the expensive tea that probably costs an average person’s weekly wage!— that’s your life.”
“What?” Jimin murmurs, confused.
“Your grandpa’s right. I won’t understand how to be a part of all that.”
“Babe, what are you talking about?”
“Look at the house you grew up in, it’s probably fifty times the size of the house I lived in!”
“That means nothing, Y/N.”
“It means everything,” you sigh, feeling your resolve weaken the longer you stand here convincing Jimin. “You’ve grown up with these customs and traditions, everyone in your family has. And I don’t get them. All this time we were together but I only met your mom for the first time today because you’ve kept these two sides of your life separate, because we’re different.”
Jimin hesitates, and you know now that he gets it.
“How are we supposed to have a life together when I don’t understand such a big part of yours?” you ask, your voice breaking off at the end.
Jimin shakes his head. “I don’t care. I’m choosing you, Y/N. I’m choosing you over everything else. I’ve told you before I'll resign as CEO if I have to, I don’t care.”
“You’re not choosing me over your family.”
“I am,” Jimin insists, approaching you.
“You can’t, it’s not as simple as that, Jimin, you—”
“I love you, what’s more simple than that?”
“Choosing Bong-cha.”
Jimin halts, the tenderness in his expression slowly disappearing. He doesn’t say anything and the moment that passes in silence is unbearable for you, the guilt of those last two words settling in.
“You really think that’s easier than this?” he asks, his voice thick with emotions which he doesn’t try to hide. Not from you.
You’re flooded with even more guilt, already distraught from the situation you’re in. “You liked her at one point,” you say weakly, looking away. “You could feel something again—”
“No,” Jimin shakes his head, looking at you in desperation. “I won’t, I fucking love you, Y/N, not her, never her.”
“You say that now but—”
“But what?” Jimin cries. “You really think I can just leave all of this, leave you, and go to her?”
“I don’t want you to,” you reason just as desperately as him, “but what if it’s better?”
“How?! How is it better? In what way will anyone be happy?!”
“Your grandpa already hates me Jimin!” you exclaim, struggling to battle the tension that's arisen between you both now. It feels unfamiliar and you hate it, but you still have more to say.
“He doesn’t hate you, I… I know how he’s treated you, babe, but I promise he doesn’t hate you—”
“Well he loves Bong-cha,” you interrupt, desperate to get to the point. “And she gets your lifestyle, she’s a part of the life you grew up with. Jimin, I completely understand your grandparents, she’s the obvious choice—”
“Fuck, no, Y/N, please stop making things harder for me!”
“I’m not making anything harder, Jimin!” you raise your voice to match his, but you’re not angry, neither of you are. “This is what it is, it’s the truth. I can’t be the one for you and it feels like the whole universe is trying to tell us that we won’t ever work!”
Jimin looks more hurt than you’ve ever seen him before, and the tears that now spill from eyes are like small daggers to your heart made worse by the lengthy silence that follows with the truth ringing in the air, until…
“Please don’t say that,” he whispers.
Your lip quivers and you find it harder to fight back your own emotions, especially when you know everything you’re saying is hurting Jimin, and you would always do anything to remind him how much he means to you. “I still love you,” you manage to get out through the lump in your throat. “More than anything else in the world.”
“Then please don’t leave me,” Jimin whispers again, and this time his words are like a blow to the head because he knows that’s what you were thinking.
Hearing his words in that broken voice, the last of your walls crumble and Jimin is at your side within a second, taking you into his arms and holding onto you like you’re the most fragile thing in this world.
There’s no thinking behind the way your body fits against his, your arms curling around him like completing a piece of a puzzle, and Jimin buries his face in your neck, drawing out heavy breaths as he also tries not to cry, as he tries to be the strong one because he knows you’ve been putting up a front the whole day. And although he hates to see you cry, especially when he knows it’s because of him, if you’re going to fall into anyone’s arms for comfort, he wants it to be him.
He’ll do anything to fix this.
Slowly moving back, he still doesn’t leave much distance between you, forehead resting on yours and his lips only a hairsbreadth from yours as he pleads—
“I know you, baby, I know you wanna do what seems right but we can do this, and I know this isn’t what you deserve but please don’t give up on me.”
You’re barely stifling your sobs and Jimin raises his hands to hold your cheeks, delicately wiping away your tears as he carries on, voice thick. “He just wants me to marry someone, I’ll marry you.”
“Jimin,” you mutter, shaking your head and brushing off the absurd statement as Jimin’s emotions, but he pulls you back, keeping a tender hand on your face and one tight around your frame.
When you meet his gaze, you see nothing but sincerity.
“I’ll marry you,” he repeats desperately. “Y/N, I’ll spend the rest of my life with you, we’ll grow old together, please, we can do it, I’ll do it, I want to, baby, please.”
His voice breaks off at the end, his face crumpling as he drops his forehead to your shoulder, the dampness from his face soaking through the material of your dress, as he croaks out his last words, “Please don’t leave me, Y/N, I love you more than anything.”
And just like that, you’re left feeling even more hopelessly in love with him.
It’s not just the fact that he’s asking you to marry him, or the fact that he loves you so much he would do it… it’s the fact that he’s practically pleading with you for it — he’s standing with you in his arms and tears falling from his eyes as he pleads with you to marry him.
And you would. In a heartbeat.
There wouldn’t need to be any rhyme or reason behind it — you would do it because you love him as much as he loves you, and the proof is in the way he’s stifling his sobs into your neck while it feels like the whole world is taunting you for being fools from the start, but you don’t care about the rest of the world, you only care about him.
That’s why you tilt your chin to brush your lips against his cheek and kiss his skin. Then again and again until he tentatively raises his head, eyes wide and teary eyed as he looks at you. There’s tear marks all over his puffy face and you still think he’s the most beautiful person you’ve ever seen.
“I love you too,” you whisper, placing another kiss on his left cheek. “More than you know.” And another on his right cheek, stroking away any falling tears with tender swipes of your thumbs.
Jimin’s hand cradles your cheek and as soon as he locks eyes with you, you’re leaning in to meet his lips in the most bittersweet kiss you’ve ever tasted.
But you’ll take it. You’ll take anything with Jimin, you’ll take all of him — the good, the bad, the happiness and the heartbreak. All the pain, you’ll take it even if it hurts you more, just so you can try to ease his pain. It’s just like you’re doing now, and Jimin does the same.
Nothing makes you feel more loved than being in Jimin’s arms — the way he lovingly caresses your skin while proving just how much he wants you with the insistence of his kisses. They’re passionate and consuming, and right now is the most desperate you’ve ever felt for him.
Maybe because now you’ve accepted the fact that you can’t have him. That he can’t be yours. That very soon, he won’t be yours.
But as long as Jimin has you like this, you can’t say no.
The kiss is messy, with the saltiness of tears reminding you both every second just how you’ve ended up like this — frantic to feel one another, hold one another, to remind yourselves with and without words that you have one another.
Twenty minutes later there’s a trail of discarded clothes from the kitchen to your bedroom, and Jimin is driving his hips into yours as he takes no heed of your swollen lips, rouging his own even more as he refuses to part from you for even a single second.
If he’s not got his lips on yours, then they’re on your cheek, chin, jaw, neck—anywhere and everywhere. He’s determined with you tonight, not being careful in the slightest when he leaves his love littered all over your skin in purple blooms.
He stays close to you, keeping his body pressed against yours in every way, and it’s so perfect this way. Almost too perfect that it hurts — how can something feel so right when you both know the truth that awaits you?
“I love you,” Jimin breathes dazedly, skin sticking to yours as he thrusts upwards into you. “So much, baby.” He thrusts again, teeth tugging at your ear before kissing it and moving to your cheek. “Only want you.” And he kisses you with another deep thrust, moving to your mouth and drowning out the rest of the world in a blissful haze.
Tumblr media
It’s only a few hours later when you wake up in the early hours of the morning.
You’re surprisingly still in the same position you fell asleep in, cradled into Jimin’s chest with one hand holding yours and his other arm around your frame. He’s still fast asleep, breathing softly as he’s no doubt exerted from earlier—
You hear it again — the muffled quiet ringtone you recognise to be Jimin’s coming from somewhere which is what woke you up from your sleep.
Slowly shifting, you feel an uncomfortable stickiness between your legs; after what can only be described as the most intense love-making you’ve ever had, you found it hard to suppress the emotions bottled up inside of you and so right after you came down from your high, you cried.
So Jimin held you close, whispering endlessly to remind you that he’ll never leave you, saying anything and all he could to comfort you until you eventually fell asleep in his arms. Neither of you cared to clean up or get dressed after sex, it was the least of your concerns, but now as you feel Jimin’s cum, dried and sticky between your legs, you think it wasn’t the best idea.
Although you move as carefully as you can so as not to wake Jimin, he mumbles within seconds, hand rubbing your arm. “What’s wrong?” He blinks a few times, catching sight of you sitting up in bed and he pushes himself up onto his elbows.
Delicately moving the messy hair from his eyes, you smile softly, and then your heart clenches at the sight as the painful memories from yesterday suddenly return. Removing your hand, you nod towards his pants on the floor. “I think your phone is ringing.”
Jimin frowns. “What time is it?”
You check. “3.31.”
Just as Jimin sits up fully, his phone rings for what must be the third time, and you see the sudden concern that sets into his features, and you realise too — it’s half 3 in the morning and someone is calling him endlessly… something’s wrong.
Jimin gets out of bed and grabs a pair of clean boxers from the drawer you have for him in your room. Pulling them on, he takes his phone out of his pants pocket.
Even in the darkness of the room with just his phone screen illuminating his face, you see the way his face falls when reading the contact, and he answers quickly.
“Yeoboseyo,” he answers. You can already tell his breathing has changed, clearly out of nervousness and fear, and even without knowing who it is, you feel panic brewing in your own chest just by seeing Jimin like this. “Dad, is everything okay?” he says immediately after answering.
And just like that, you know just who it’s about and the panic rises to your throat, even with all the resentment you harbour towards him…
Jimin’s chest rises and falls rapidly, and he puts the phone between his ear and shoulder as he grabs his pants and pulls them on, still talking. “Is he okay now?... Text me the hospital address, I’m coming.”
As soon as the call ends, Jimin takes the phone from his ear and you can see his hands shaking.
“Jimin?” you say quietly, grabbing your robe and slipping into this as Jimin looks your way, and his scared expression has you trembling yourself.
“My granddad,” he chokes out. “He’s had a stroke.”
You don’t have any words to comfort Jimin in this moment, so you quickly move to him, steadying yourself from the slight wobble in your knees from earlier.
But right now that’s not on your mind as you immediately pull Jimin into a hug and he practically leans into you, his arms wound around you tight.
“I’m scared,” he whispers, fingers clenching the silk material of your robe.
“I know, baby, but hopefully he’ll be okay. I’ll drive you okay?” Your response comes out automatically and surprises yourself because the thoughts that are running through your head are far from reassuring. Seeing Jimin like this, shaking in fear because his granddad is having a stroke — the man who won’t let the two of you be together — tells you just how much Jimin cares about him.
It dawns on you now, just how broken Jimin will be if Deok-su were to pass away being disappointed in him.
Jimin moves back, nodding while taking a few deep breaths. “Thank you,” he says quietly, waiting for you to look at him.
When you do, he momentarily forgets everything else and wonders how he got so damn lucky with you — even when it comes to Deok-su, you’re still willing to help and look after Jimin.
“It’s okay,” you respond even more quietly.
Jimin nods again, and this time he presses a quick kiss to your lips before pulling back so you can both clean yourselves and get ready as quickly as you can to leave.
Tumblr media
Both of you barely exchange any words as you leave your apartment, but Jimin holds your hand all the way down to your car, only letting go when you need to get into the driver's seat and he takes the passenger seat.
His knee bounces nervously the whole journey there and every time you think of what to say to comfort him, you come up short.
Luckily the hospital is only a fifteen minute drive from yours, so you’re soon pulling up into the mostly empty parking lot (given how late it is), although you do recognise a few of the cars parked close to the hospital — Jimin’s aunt and uncles who work at the company, as well as Geun-woo’s. You park close to his.
Jimin is peering up at the hospital through the windshield and you decide to wait in the car while he goes in. Jimin is a bit hesitant about that, knowing why you wouldn’t want to go in, but he simply nods and rushes inside.
Time feels slow as you wait outside in the car, the lengthy minutes dragging on, but it gives you the time you need to think, or rather the time you need to convince yourself that you know what’s best for Jimin.
You meant every word you said to him earlier — there is a difference between your lives and you’ve hardly seen a fraction of his life and you’re well aware of the things Jimin has gone through and sacrificed because of the lifestyle his type of family lead. They’re upper class, some of the richest people originating from Busan and a formidable family thanks to the hard work and efforts of Jimin’s granddad.
They have their high society traditions and customs, ones which you've grown up hatng because of the type of people who entertain them. Jimin’s family are those people. And sure, most of his family is lovely but they’re still a part of that life, and in all honesty, you wouldn’t be able to keep up with it. It’s true what you said to Jimin — he’s been living two different lives in the past year — one with you, a more relaxed and enjoyable life, and the other with his family, involving the formal dinners and constant socialising with a bunch of pretentious grown-ups boasting in conversation to show off their wealth and status. Sure, JImin isn’t like that, nor are his parents (from what you know), but as the CEO of Park Motors, future chairman of the company and the eldest grandson, Jimin would be expected to entertain that kind of lifestyle for the rest of his life.
However, even with all that said, your love for Jimin really knows no bounds and you would put up with it if it means you could spend the rest of your life with him, but there’s also the other side of things, the side that you apparently have no control over — Jimin’s grandparents don’t seem to like you. And if they don’t like you, you already know there’ll be judgement coming from many others who they know and are a part of their lives.
That’s why you understand Deok-su’s side of things… Bong-cha grew up with all of that, they respect her already, and she seems like a lovely enough girl. She can entertain all the traditions and customs that come with being upper class because she is herself.
As much as it breaks your heart to even think about it, you know she’ll look after Jimin and he would no doubt look after her, even if he doesn’t love her. Although a part of you believes that they could fall in love if you're out of the picture for long enough; Jimin has told you that he never actually fell in love with Bong-cha but you don’t think it would be impossible, especially if they were to start a life together, a family—
The thought hurts like a bitch… biting your lip to stop from crying, you get out of the car to catch some of the early morning air. The sky is no longer as dark as it was an hour ago, but the sun has yet to rise entirely.
“Y/N?”
You turn to see Geun-woo walking towards you, no doubt having just come out of the hospital. He’s dressed in pajama bottoms and a sweater, and he looks tired but he still manages to smile widely when he sees you.
“Hey,” you smile back, feeling some kind of relief upon seeing a kind, familiar face.
He comes and gives you a hug, pulling back and looking at you carefully. “Did you come with Jimin?”
“Mhm,” you nod, face becoming somber once more as you remember the reason you’re here. “He was with me when his dad called… How is he? Your granddad?”
“He’s okay now,” Geun-woo answers, “but they’re running all kinds of tests on him to figure out what caused the stroke. They suspect it was stress that caused a blood clot.”
You don’t say anything, wondering if you and Jimin are the reason he might’ve gotten so stressed, but you decide you don’t need to make yourself feel any worse than you already do, so you push these thoughts away.
“I hope he gets better soon,” is all you say, looking out towards the hospital and wondering what Jimin is doing now, how worried he must be.
Geun-woo looks at you, his expression becoming soft. “You know, I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t care.”
You give him a look, one that shows you almost agree with what he’s said but you don’t verbalise it because it’s not actually true. “I care because Jimin cares,” you say eventually.
“Yeah but still. My granddad’s been a complete ass to you, Y/N,” Geun-woo says, somewhat apologetically.
“I know,” you admit quietly, looking towards the hospital. “But for some reason I do.”
Geun-woo nods, lowering his head as you both stand in silence for a moment before he speaks again. “Are you going to wait here the whole time?”
“Yeah, I told Jimin I would wait.”
“Right, well I need to quickly go home and get dressed but I’ll be back within half an hour. Want me to get you anything?” he asks, smiling.
“No, I’m good.” You pat this shoulder, looking down at his clothes. “Did you get woken up from your sleep too?”
“Yeah,” Geun-woo’s smile disappears as he remembers. “I think it was half 2 when my dad got the call and he woke us all up. I offered to drive ‘cos he seemed pretty shaken up.”
“Jimin too,” you nod understandingly.
“Yeah, I didn’t get time to get dressed though so dad’s sending me back home.”
“I’m surprised that’s what he’s concerned with at a time like this,” you say, raising your brow.
“Yeah, I know,” Geun-woo sighs. “I said pretty much the same thing but he gave me the usual, “we’ve got to represent the family at all times” lecture.”
Nodding, you purse your lips as you find yet another reason the Park family is different from yours. Geun-woo seems to realise and goes quiet, the events of the past day returning to his mind.
“How are you anyway?” he asks quietly.
“I’m fine,” you lie.
“Seriously?” Geun-woo arches a brow. “I mean you don’t need to tell me of course but you can if you want to.”
“I know,” you smile emptily. “I appreciate it, but I don’t really have much to say.”
As you’re talking, you don’t notice the sleek black Range Rover that pulls into the car park close to the entrance, but when the driver gets out, you almost freeze, mind going into overdrive.
Geun-woo notices as you stare behind him, and when he turns and sees, he looks back awkwardly.
Bong-cha gets out of the car, looking like a million dollars even in loungewear and a bare face with her hair in a messy bun.
Suddenly you feel jealous — something you’ve rarely ever felt in your relationship with Jimin because you’ve always been so sure of his love for you, but this is real. It hits hardest where it hurts the most because the possibility of Bong-cha having Jimin is real, of him having her… maybe loving her.
Fresh tears collect at your waterline but you’re well aware that you’re still standing with Geun-woo so you try your hardest not to let them fall.
Except it doesn’t quite work, and Geun-woo turns back to see you hastily wiping the tears from your cheeks.
“Hey,” he says softly, reaching up to hold your shoulders.
“I’m fine,” you say quickly. “I’ll be fine.”
Geun-woo hesitates, knowing that it’s an obvious lie again. Wordlessly, he pulls you into a brief hug, not wanting to make you feel any worse but he still whispers a gentle, “Things will work out for you somehow, I know they will.”
They won’t, is what you want to say. How can they? — Jimin is inside the hospital right now, fearing for his grandpa despite the man’s blatant dislike of you, and you know for sure that it’ll break Jimin’s heart to go against his granddad. And then there’s Bong-cha, practically a part of their family and Jimin’s high school sweetheart who was always supposed to end up with him.
You can’t help bitter thoughts filling your head as you imagine Jimin seeing her rush into the hospital, with the same concern for his grandpa after having years of memories together. You wonder if he might see her now and begin to change his mind, the threat of his grandpa’s health on the line might be what encourages him to go ahead with marrying her.
On top of all of that, there’s you — an outsider, foreign to everything Jimin has known growing up.
The thoughts spiral and you barely acknowledge Geun-woo anymore as he lets go, promising to be back within half an hour with an early breakfast even though you said you didn’t want it.
It’s only when his car drives off and the tears fall for what feels like the hundredth time, that you retreat back to your car and cry.
But only for a moment because you’re well aware that Jimin could walk out any minute, or even one of the other family members and you don’t need anyone to see you crying.
Especially not Jimin. Because then he’ll ask you what’s wrong and he’ll reassure you for the hundredth time while you’ll hate yourself for what you know you need to do.
It takes all the strength you have to sit patiently for Jimin to return, and Geun-woo returns faster than he said he would with breakfast in tow. He parks next to your car again, opening his trunk for you both to sit and eat together.
You’re grateful for his company because he distracts you from everything and helps lighten the weight you’ve been feeling on your shoulders.
But then you see Jimin walking out of the hospital and the weight returns, except this time it’s ten times worse when you see Bong-cha walking beside him.
Tumblr media
Contrary to what you thought Jimin might be thinking, he’s incredibly awkward when he sees Bong-cha rush into the waiting room. It almost pains him to see her, knowing that he could never want her but she’s the one that his grandpa insists on.
He also feels somewhat irritated that she’s here, making her even more perfect in everyone else’s eyes, reminding them of her close relationship to the family and the love and care she has for Deok-su.
It’s like it’s all taunting him as he watches her from the far, secluded corner of the waiting room — she converses with one of Jimin’s aunts, and then his dad approaches her and also updates her before she grabs the attention of one of the nurses.
Jimin remembers now that she’s a doctor. Of course that elevates her status even more and everyone will be fawning over her if she starts talking in medical terms which most of his family don’t understand but they’ll appreciate anything which might help Deok-su, the head of this family.
He continues to watch as Geun-woo’s dad also approaches her, reminding Jimin again just how well acquainted she is with his family.
But so are you, he reminds himself. You’ve worked with the majority of Jimin’s aunts and uncles, and even though you don’t have years of memories with them, they still like and respect you.
However, Jimin knows it’s not the same to anyone epse, considering your upbringings, but he doesn’t care. He loves you, not Bong-cha.
Just as his irritation begins to grow, Bong-cha excuses herself from the small crowd that’s formed around her and walks down the hall with Jimin’s dad, and as she turns away, she catches Jimin eye for the shortest of seconds, and Jimin is quickly reminded with a pang of guilt that none of this is her fault.
It’s unfair of him to feel any semblance of annoyance towards her when she’s just as innocent in this as you. Although Jimin remembers what Deok-su said to him yesterday, that she agreed to the marriage — it baffles him because Jimin knows that Bong-cha knows about you and him.
With a heavy exhale, Jimin closes his eyes and slumps further into his seat. Only a moment passes until he hears footsteps coming closer and someone takes a seat next to him.
Opening his eyes, he looks to his side to see his dad collapsed into the seat just like him. It upsets Jimin to see his dad this worn out.
Pil-woo exhales heavily, turning to look at Jimin. “You good, son?”
“I’m fine,” Jimin answers. “What about you? D’you need anything?”
Pil-woo shakes his head, looking forward again tiredly. “What a day it’s been, huh?” he says quietly.
“Tell me about it,” Jimin mutters, leaning back again.
Father and son sit together quietly for a few moments until Jimin speaks again.
“What was Bong-cha saying about grandpa?”
“She just wanted to know what tests they were running and she’s requested to see the results herself,” Pil-woo answers, glancing sideways at Jimin. “She’s pretty worried about him.”
“We all are,” Jimin replies plainly. “And of course she would, she kinda grew up with him.”
Pil-woo nods and hums, sitting in silence for a moment until he asks, “Where’s Y/N?”
“She’s outside,” Jimin says, pushing himself up. “I should go back to her actually, she’s waiting for me but she should go home and rest, I can call Beom-soo to drop me off.”
Before Jimin can get up, Pil-woo places a hand on Jimin’s arm. “How is she?” he asks softly.
Jimin pauses, remembering everything that happened only a few hours ago. Even with the memory of making love to you so intensely, he can’t shake the conversation that led to it — the one where he knew what you were thinking the whole time. It breaks his heart to even think about it.
“I think she wants to leave me,” Jimin says, voice already thick with emotions. He turns to his dad. “And I don’t blame her.”
Pil-woo sighs sadly, moving his hand to pat Jimin’s back. “Words can’t tell you how sorry I am, Jimin. Neither of you deserve this.”
Jimin looks at his dad with pleading eyes. “Is there really nothing we can do? You know I’ll do anything to be with her.”
Silently, Pil-woo shakes his head. “I would do anything if it would help you, but with your granddad in hospital now, I highly doubt anything will convince him.”
Jimin’s shoulders drop and he finds it more and more difficult to fight the defeated feeling that takes over him.
“I’m going to Y/N, I‘ll be back in a bit,” Jimin mutters, getting up and walking down the hallway to find his grandma. Jimin knows his grandma is a strong woman, having barely shed a tear since they got to the hospital, but he still wants to check she’s doing okay and make sure she doesn’t need anything before he goes down to you.
She’s two floors up where his granddad’s scans are being done, but just as Jimin expected, she keeps a stiff upper lip and insists there’s nothing she needs while she waits for Deok-su.
“You’re sure?” Jimin asks one last time.
“I’m positive,” she says, squeezing his hand. “I’ll let you know if I need anything, but for now I’m okay.”
“Okay,” Jimin answers, giving her a small smile. He’s about to leave but Eun-ae holds his hand and stops him. Jimin looks at her expecting her to have changed her mind but her next words surprise him.
“How is Y/N?” Jimin can see there’s genuine concern on her face.
“Oh, um… she’s not okay.” Jimin pauses, wondering whether he should go on, and when he sees his grandma's frown deepen, he does in the hopes that her concern for you might help things. “She was pretty embarrassed that grandpa invited Bong-cha, especially when he wouldn’t stop taking digs at her all evening… I’ve never seen her this upset.”
“Yes, that was low for your grandpa,” Eun-ae answers, sighing disappointedly. “I didn’t know he was going to invite Bong-cha.”
Jimin looks at her in surprise. “You didn’t?”
“Of course not. Your grandfather knows how to get what he wants though so I’m not surprised he did it.”
“And if you did?” Jimin asks, hope lacing his tone which has Eun-ae looking at him apologetically.
“Jimin, you know your granddad has always worked hard to get what he wants, and he has big dreams for the future, for you.”
“Those are his dreams,” Jimin exclaims, “I don’t share the same stupid traditions as him but you both know I can still carry the company and the family exactly how you want me to, maybe even better with Y/N at my side!”
Eun-ae sighs, taking Jimin’s hand. “I don’t doubt that, Jimin, but Deok-su is stubborn and wilful in his own ways, and especially because he’s older, you have to learn to respect the fact that he…” Eun-ae pauses, looking away distantly for a moment until she eventually says, “He’s experienced things that you haven’t.”
Jimin frowns, not entirely understanding but he moves on with the point that is on his mind — “Like he learnt to respect Y/N?” It comes out almost sarcastically, as it’s meant to.
Eun-ae meets Jimin’s gaze and for a split second he thinks she’s going to agree, but then a doctor knocks on the door to ask her some questions.
“I’m sorry, Jimin,” is what she says, giving him a final, apologetic look before she leaves. “It’s always been Deok-su’s way.”
Jimin sighs, dropping his head in his hands as he sits for a moment to collect himself before he goes out to you. It’s hard to, with so much having happened in the last twelve hours alone, but he doesn’t want to keep you waiting for too long so he straightens up and makes his way out of the hospital.
Getting into the elevator, Jimin catches a glimpse of his tired appearance but turns away, his mind far more occupied with other things.
The elevator dings for the 5th floor where the rest of his family are, but Jimin has already told his dad he’s gone to speak with you so he plans to keep going down, that is until the doors suddenly open again just when they’re halfway closed.
Jimin looks to see Bong-cha entering the elevator, not yet having noticed Jimin in the corner (because she’s texting on her phone) until the doors are shut.
“Oh,” she says, looking up somewhat startled and clearly very awkward. “Sorry, I didn’t know you were in here, I can get out on the next floor.”
Jimin shakes his head, smiling politely. “Don’t worry about it, there’s no need.”
She nods, looking forward awkwardly and Jimin knows she’s clearly uncomfortable and it feels rude on his part to let her feel like that when she’s done nothing wrong. Also, before his grandfather insisted on Jimin marrying her, Jimin was still friendly with her and it feels wrong to stand here with so much tension between them, although Jimin does wonder whether or not Deok-su was lying when he told him that she agreed to the marriage…
“Thanks for helping today,” Jimin says, glancing at her.
“It’s not a problem,” she responds quietly, barely looking at him.
There‘s another beat of silence and then, “Did my granddad talk to you about anything… you know, about us?” Jimin asks, feeling awkward himself now.
Pressing her lips into a thin line, Bong-cha nods. “Yeah.” She gives him a quick glance as she says, “but don’t worry, I didn’t say yes. I know you’re with Y/N.”
“Ah,” Jimin nods, realising Deok-su did lie about Bong-cha agreeing, because he knows Bong-cha wouldn’t lie. “He told me you did.”
“What?” Bong-cha’s head snaps towards Jimin. “I didn’t, I promise I didn’t—“
“It’s okay, I know,” Jimin smiled reassuringly. “I’ve known you all my life and I know you wouldn’t lie like that anyway.”
“Yeah, definitely,” Bong-cha sighs, seemingly relieved as they exit the elevator together on the ground floor. “You’re happy with Y/N, I would never try to come in between that in any way.”
Jimin nods, and when another momentary silence passes between them, it’s Bong-cha who speaks up.
“How is she by the way? Y/N? Uncle wasn’t exactly his usual self yesterday…”
“Yeah, he wasn’t,” Jimin sighs, choosing not to say too much to Bong-cha because he doesn’t want to expose your feelings to the whole world. “We’ll be okay,” he says quietly, giving Bong-cha a small appreciative smile which she returns.
And it’s just as they’re exiting the building that another question occurs to Jimin and he wonders whether or not he should ask, but he wants to know…
“Hey, um, you said you didn’t say yes to him…” he comes to a stop and so does Bong-cha, turning to look at him. “But did you say no?”
Bong-cha’s face tells Jimin the answer, her cheeks going pink and eyes wide as though she’s guilty. “I didn’t say anything,” she says quickly, “I only said I would think about it because he had just told me about his condition and I didn’t want to upset him when he’s already got so much going on—“
“It’s okay,” Jimin quickly interrupts, even though he’s not sure if it’s okay but he also knows how manipulative his granddad has been about this whole situation so he doesn’t exactly blame her. “Forget I asked, it didn’t mean anything.”
Bong-cha nods, now completely avoiding Jimin’s gaze as she hurriedly excuses herself and rushes to her car.
Tumblr media
Your body stiffens as you watch both Jimin and Bong-cha come to a stop, with Jimin turning to her and asking something. You can’t make out what he’s saying but only seconds later, Bong-cha is hurrying off to her car and Jimin looks visibly stressed and somewhat… annoyed, maybe, as he walks over to you.
Placing down your coffee cup, you get up from the back of Geun-woo’s trunk (Geun-woo himself pretends to be super interested in the bagel he’s eating so as to give you two some privacy), meeting Jimin’s gaze as he watches you.
You smile, although your lips barely turn up given the events of the past 12 hours. Jimin is pretty much the same, but he still gives you a tight hug, pressing his lips to your cheek when he pulls away.
“Thanks for waiting for me,” he murmurs. You can see the way his shoulders are slouched and he looks incredibly weary, the sight of it aching your heart even more. What’s worse is the silent tension that still exists between you, with the health of Deok-su seeming like it’s hanging by a thread.
“It’s okay,” you respond quietly. “How is he?”
“They’re still running tests and they’re gonna prescribe him some meds to prevent any more blood clots, but I think he’ll be okay.”
“Good,” you nod, looking down at your hands. In all honesty, you wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to Deok-su. You may not like him or respect him, but you would never wish for anything bad to happen to him, especially because he is Jimin’s granddad.
“I was gonna ask if you wanted breakfast but I see Geun-woo already sorted that,” Jimin smiles, looking in Geun-woo’s direction.
“Oh, yeah, he did, d’you want some?” you ask, trying to ignore the voices in your head. “He bought quite a bit.”
“Um, I actually should get back inside,” Jimin mutters.
“Oh, right… yeah,” you nod. “But take some with you anyway.”
“Sure.” Jimin looks at you again, and he doesn’t say anything for a moment, but simply takes in all of your pretty features.
You don’t say anything either because you can tell he’s thinking something, and also you don’t have anything to say right now. What you do need to say, you don’t want to say here in the parking lot of the hospital.
“I don’t know how long I’m gonna be here,” Jimin says after a moment, taking your hand. “So you can go home, get some rest if you like.”
“Sure,” you nod, curling your fingers around his. “You’ll be okay?”
Jimin nods and gives you a small smile. “I can get Beom-soo to pick me up when I’m done.” He leans forward and places a tender kiss on your lips, and you both say a quiet goodbye before he walks back into the hospital.
As he leaves, you can’t ignore the heavy feeling that lingers around you, spurring the voices on and telling you you know what you need to do.
Tumblr media
It’s many hours later that Jimin finds himself in the back of his chauffeur-driven car, mentally and physically exhausted from the past 24 hours. The sun has yet to set but it’s close enough to the end of the day, and when the car finally stops, Jimin doesn’t step out into the car park of your apartment complex, but the hill that he took you to a year ago now.
He hasn’t been back here since then himself — it’s like he told you, with you in his life, he hasn’t needed to come back here as much. Except now, with everything that's happening, he needs some time alone and fresh air.
Jimin has been thinking about you and his grandfather all day— to everyone else and each other, you’re two opposite ends of the spectrum, but to Jimin, you’re both two important people in his life, and more similar than you think.
You both started off with nothing and worked incredibly hard to get to where you are. You each know your own worth and aren’t afraid to show it, and you’re also both proud in your own ways. Deok-su is proud to a fault. While you’re proud of who you are and won't let anyone make you feel any less for it.
It’s why Jimin knows you can’t put up with the insults that Deok-su has been throwing at you, and Jimin doesn’t think you should either. Jimin knows by staying with him, there’s no guarantee that Deok-su would ever make you feel welcome, but he’s also well aware that Deok-su isn’t the only problem.
Jimin has grown up surrounded by pretentious, snobby adults, and he knows that the rich world he’s grown up in will find it difficult to accept you as his love. He hates the fact that people look down on you because of your family and how you grew up, even when you’re so accomplished now, more than many of those people themselves. He knows that no matter what he says, they will never accept you and will only continue to make you feel like less than them which isn’t what you deserve.
Jimin would never want that for you, but there's no doubt that it would happen if you stayed in his life. So that’s why Jimin doesn’t blame you for wanting to leave him.
A muffled vibration comes from Jimin’s jacket pocket, and he pulls out his phone to see a text from you.
[10:38pm] Y/N ❤️:  hey, I think you should spend some time with your family for the next few days. I’m going to spend the rest of the weekend with Gi so I’ll see you on Monday.
Jimin feels his heart drop to his feet. It’s not only the absence of your usual “love you” at the end of the message, but also the fact that he already feels like you’re distancing yourself from him.
But again, he doesn’t blame you. If you’re choosing to spend the weekend at Gi’s, it’s because you want the time for yourself too, and he won't ask you for anything else. As well as that, he knows he should spend some time with his family; since being in a relationship with you, he’s been seeing his family less and it’s one of the things he felt most guilty about when his granddad told him about his condition.
However that doesn’t mean this sits right with Jimin. He hates the tension that’s been lingering between you both since he told you about Deok-su, and no matter what he’s tried, it doesn’t go away.
Feeling defeated, Jimin sends back a short reply to thank you for today, before getting back into his car and driving away.
But he doesn’t go home. He keeps driving to the other side of town and pulls up in the driveway of Namjoon’s house.
He feels bad coming this late to Namjoon’s, but he really needs to talk to someone that’s not you or his family, and Namjoon has always been a good friend to Jimin. Plus he always knows what to do. He’s always made smart decisions his whole life and a part of the reason Jimin respects him so much is because Namjoon started his own company with only his dad’s help and has established a franchise nearly as successful as Park Motors.
Knocking on the door to his beautiful home, Jimin realises he probably should’ve texted before coming since Namjoon might be busy, especially with Mi-sun and Baek-hyeon getting older.
But a moment later, the door opens and Namjoon stands there in his pajamas with a tea towel over his shoulder, and he looks down at his friend with immediate concern. “Jimin?”
“Hey man,” Jimin sighs. “Can I come in?”
“Yeah, of course.” He steps to the side, letting Jimin in as he lowers his voice. “Just keep the voice down please, I only got Mi-sun to go to sleep ten minutes ago.”
“Sure,” Jimin nods. “Is ___ home?”
“No, she’s got the night shift today. She left a little while ago.” Namjoon still looks Jimin over with concern. “Come, I’ll get you a drink.”
Jimin follows wordlessly, slumping down at the grand dining table while Namjoon gets a drink for them both.
“How is she?” Jimin asks. “And the kids? I’ve missed them,” he says, looking at one of the framed photographs on the mantle.
“They’re good, all of them,” Namjoon nods, smiling before he turns to Jimin again. “But, dude, what’s up with you? I mean, no offence but you look like you’re going through something.”
Jimin sighs, taking a long sip of beer. Then he cuts to the chase: “My granddad’s dying. He’s got cancer and the doctors reckon he’s only got six months left.”
Namjoon’s jaw has dropped,  but Jimin doesn’t even give him time to process it before he carries on.
“And he wants me to leave Y/N and get an arranged marriage to Bong-cha. I tried to talk to him and so did dad, and he called Y/N for dinner yesterday so we went and I thought we would be okay but he practically set Y/N up and invited Bong-cha too. It was the worst feeling ever, Namjoon,” Jimin croaks. “Seeing Y/N so helpless like that because of me. Then I begged her to stay because I know she wants to go and I don’t know what’s gonna happen because now granddad’s had a stroke and he’s in hospital and everything is just so fucked up.”
Jimin lets out a heavy exhale, forcing down the lump in his throat with another long sip of beer. Namjoon is quite literally speechless, processing everything that Jimin has just told him.
Jimin looks at him helplessly. “I don’t know what to do.”
Sighing softly, Namjoon gives Jimin an apologetic frown and pats his shoulder. “I’m not gonna lie to you, that’s pretty fucked up… Honestly, I don’t think there’s any situation here where you can win.”
“I know,” Jimin mutters. “I know. I feel like it’s all my fault.”
“How?”
“When I first got with Y/N,” Jimin says, turning the bottle in his hand. “She was apprehensive. She knew something like this would happen but I kept convincing her we would be okay. I promised her,” Jimin cries. “It happened more than once and I just kept promising her it would be okay because I really thought it would be but I didn’t know hal-abeoji would be so rude to her, I didn’t know he could be like that.”
“I bet he’s giving you the whole respectable family thing, huh?” Namjoon asks, shaking his head.
Jimin nods. “He keeps saying he wants what’s best for me, but that’s so fucking stupid. Y/N is what’s best for me and I swear he knows it too, he’s just being stubborn. All he cares about is stupid reputation and respect.”
Namjoon nods, thinking carefully. “What has Y/N said?”
“She says my granddad’s not entirely wrong.”
“You said you begged her to stay… was that before or after the stroke?”
Jimin’s head drops. “Before.”
Namjoon is quiet for a moment, until he asks “Does Bong-cha know?”
“Yeah,” Jimin sighs, remembering his conversation at the hospital with her. “I think she would’ve said yes if I wasn’t with Y/N.”
Namjoon looks at Jimin in surprise. “What makes you think that?”
Jimin shrugs. “She didn’t say yes, but she didn’t say no either. Plus I know how much she cares about her own grandparents and mine. She’s the perfect child to them, I just have a feeling she would do it.”
“It makes sense,” Namjoon nods. “She’s too kind for her own good sometimes.”
“That’s true,” Jimin agrees. “But it doesn’t matter anyway. I’m not saying yes.”
Namjoon gives Jimin a look, and when Jimin sees it, he immediately frowns. “What?” he questions.
Wincing, Namjoon sighs. “Okay, look. You’ve come to me for a third person perspective right?”
Bracing himself for the worst, Jimin nods.
“Okay,” Namjoon nods. “Well, you dated Bong-cha in high school. She’s literally had the same upbringing as you and your grandparents have been best friends for over thirty years, before you were born. So I can imagine that Deok-su has wanted the two of you to get together for years, maybe even since before you could walk, and now that he doesn’t know how long he’s got, he just wants to see it come true because he loves Bong-cha too.” Jimin gives Namjoon an icy glare to which he responds, “You want my perspective, I’m giving it to you.”
Jaw clenched, Jimin looks down at the table as Namjoon continues. “He trusts that she’ll look after you how he wants so that’s actually coming from a caring place—“
“Okay, first of all, Y/N will look after me too, better than Bong-cha because Y/N loves me. Bong-cha doesn’t. Secondly, how’s it coming from a caring place when it’s all what he wants, and not what I want?”
“You’re right,” Namjoon says, “I get your point, but your granddad has looked after you your whole life after your parents, and it’s because of him you are where you are.”
“I know,” Jimin mutters. “But it’s not fair.”
“It’s not,” Namjoon agrees. “He worked hard to give you a good life but it’s a life that comes with all sorts of standards and stupid societal norms. But that is your life, Jimin. It always has been. And let’s not forget Y/N. She isn’t used to most of this besides what she’s seen at work, and that’s not even a quarter of what it’s like with most of the upper class families that your family is close with…” Namjoon sighs. “It’s not exactly fair on her to deal with this now, and if your grandparents don’t agree, you know as well as I do that she’ll be putting up with it for as long as she’s with you.”
“Fuck,” Jimin sighs. “I know.”
“But…” Namjoon says, leaning back in his seat. “With all that said, you love her, and she loves you. So, I think you should let Y/N decide.”
Jimin looks at Namjoon who continues.
“She loves you, there’s no doubt about that. But whatever happens, she’s affected by it. If you choose to stay with her, she’ll struggle, and if you marry Bong-cha, she’ll struggle. I know you’ve already made the decision to stay with her, but you need to remember that it’s not just your decision to make.”
As hard as it is to hear, Jimin knows Namjoon is right.
Tumblr media
“Oh my god, babe,” Gi sighs, pulling you into her shoulder as you succumb to your tears after telling her everything that’s happened. “I’m so fucking sorry you’ve had to go through that,” she murmurs, soothingly stroking your hair.
You let yourself cry for a few moments, heart heavy as you feel any and all of your fight running out.
When you finally pull back, Gi takes your hand and gives you a small smile. “You’re so strong, you know?”
“I don’t feel strong,” you sniffle, pulling more tissues from the box. “I can’t do this, Gi,” you croak, face scrunching up as you cry once more.
Gi shushes you gently, her heart aching as she watches you. “And you shouldn’t have to, Y/N. You’re worth so much more than this. Anyone who’s made you feel like this is a fucking idiot and doesn’t deserve your time.”
“But what about Jimin?” you whimper. “He never makes me feel like this.”
Your older sister gives you an apologetic look. “I know, babe, but it’s all the people in his life that will continue to do so. They’re snobby little shits and you’re so much better than them.”
Through teary eyes, you meet Gi’s gaze. “What am I supposed to do then?”
She sighs, rubbing your hand. “Make your own choice. But think with your head, not your heart.”
Just like that, your heart drops in your chest. “I don’t really have much of a choice then.”
Gi nods, understanding what you mean, but before she can respond, the sound of your little nephew crying sounds on the baby monitor.
“Oh, god, he’s probably hungry,” Gi sighs.
“It’s okay,” you smile, wiping your tears away. “Go, don’t worry.”
“Okay,” she nods, giving you a quick peck on the forehead before she gets up. “I won’t be long.”
She rushes upstairs, leaving you alone in the quiet lounge. You hear her on the baby monitor as she enters Ji-seok’s room. Cooing, she shushes him gently, and within a moment, he’s no longer crying and all you can hear is her soft talking as she feeds him.
In the serene quietness, you hear the voice telling you to go now. To do what you know you need to…
This time, you listen.
Tumblr media
It’s a little past midnight when you’re knocking on the door to Jimin’s apartment. You have the key, but it feels wrong to use it considering what you’re here to do.
It sits curled up tight in your palm, the metal pressing against your clenched hand in an attempt to ease your nerves.
But it’s useless.
When Jimin opens the door, it takes so much energy to gather the little strength you have left.
“Y/N?” He frowns in confusion but steps aside to let you in anyway. “Why didn’t you use your key?”
You ignore that question and turn to face him. You planned on coming here and just getting right to it, but as you see Jimin’s face, it’s not that easy.
“How’s your grandpa now?” you ask, trying to avoid his gaze.
Jimin nods, giving you a small smile. “He’s recovering well.”
“Good,” you nod, fist still clenched around the key.  Do it, you tell yourself. Please do it now. Don’t make this any harder for yourself. “Um, I, uh…” you trail off feeling the lump form in your throat.
“Y/N?” Jimin steps forward, seeing your broken expression but you step back and shake your head quickly.
Then Jimin realises. “Y/N,” he whispers.
“I can’t do this anymore, Jimin.” Your voice breaks as you place the key on the table beside you.
Jimin sees it and his heart drops.
“Y/N, please—“
“No, Jimin please don’t say anything,” you plead, stiffening up. “I can’t let you live the rest of your life, always wondering whether you would’ve made the right choice.”
“There is no choice for me,” Jimin says. “It’s you and that’s it.”
“No,” you mutter. “There’s Bong-cha, and your grandparents, and everyone else in your life.”
Jimin steps forward. “They’re all irrelevant, for me there’s only you.”
“No there isn’t,” you shake your head, fighting back the tears as you look at him. “You care about your grandparents, Jimin. Your whole life is proof of that and you’ll feel so bad if your granddad goes and he wasn’t happy. I know you will and I’m not gonna be the reason for it, I don’t want to be,” you cry. “Especially not if it means I have to live as second best.”
Jimin knows it’s right. It’s exactly what Namjoon told him and he’s right. It’s now that he remembers what else Namjoon said — Jimin has to let you decide. But that doesn’t mean he still won’t fight to keep you.
“You’re not second best to me,” he tells you, his eyes promising the truth.
“I know,” you nod, your heart aching. “But I am to your grandpa, and anyone else who thinks like he does, which is most of the people in your life.”
Jimin pauses, knowing that’s true, and as you see him hesitate, you use the opportunity to continue.
“You have to do it, Jimin, otherwise you’ll regret it,” you say quietly.
Jimin’s head snaps towards you and tears brim in his eyes. “I’ll regret this. Nothing else but this.”
Shaking your head, you give him a weak smile. “You’ve known Bong-cha your whole life, Jimin, and you’ve known me for what, four? It doesn’t really compare.”
Jimin shakes his head as he takes another step and reaches for your hand. “She’s not you! I love you.”
It takes every ounce of willpower for you to pull yourself from his grasp. “We’ve only been dating for a year,” you respond weakly. “You’ll forget about us eventually.”
Jimin’s face falls but is quickly changed to one of furious determination. “I’m not breaking up with you. You know I won’t.” He hears Namjoon’s words echoing in his head, but knowing that this really could be it, that you’re really making the decision to leave him… it hurts more than anything and he will still do everything he can to keep you.
“I know you won’t,” you say with a sad smile, tears falling freely from your eyes now. “But I can’t let you stay with me either.”
Jimin’s eyes search your face desperately. “What?… so you’re just gonna leave me?” he croaks.
There it is. He knows, you think. It doesn’t have to be any harder than this.
Lower lip trembling, you nod.
Jimin’s hand squeezes yours tighter as he pulls you into his arms. “I made a promise, Y/N,” he whispers. “I promised you I wouldn’t let anything come between us.”
“And you kept your promise,” you whisper back through teary eyes. The last of your strength is what it takes to pull back from Jimin’s arms.
When they drop to his side defeatedly, is when your eyes meet, and both of you know this is it.
But Jimin only lets go because he cares. He cares about you so much and he knows you’re right.
However, that doesn’t mean his heart isn’t screaming at him when you pull yourself free from his grasp, slowly stepping back towards the door with the tears streaming from your eyes and the kindest smile on your lips despite the pain he knows you’re feeling.
“You kept it the whole time, Jimin,” you murmur, “and I love you so much for it.”
Jimin can hear his heart beating in his ears, the sound thrumming heavily to every word you’re saying, and Jimin is reminded that the beat is also in time to the clock ticking in the back of his mind — the clock that draws closer to the end of his grandpa’s life.
But it’s when you step forward to kiss his cheek, whispering one last goodbye, that Jimin feels truly, and utterly broken.
Then you’re gone.

Unraveling fate
Tumblr media
It is said that humans live a blissful life as souls up in the sky before they decide to incarnate onto the earthly realms.
Up there everything is effortless and sweet, so perfect that we couldn’t ever imagine it properly. Yet, they decide to give up their eden perfection to come down to earth. Why you may ask?
Because they get bored. Too much of anything is deadly, even if it’s something as precious as blissful love.
Hence, they make plans to come down to earth in order to play. Some souls are rather boring, whereas other souls are quite dramatic - making up a full play for them to enjoy. They look for other souls to play their part - mothers, fathers, villains or lovers.
„You’re gonna do this to me and I’m gonna do that to you and we may hate each other for a while but in the end it will be all so sweet“, they giggle while making plots. What they don’t know though is that once their souls incarnate back to earth, they will forget everything they once knew - scheming plans included.
The states of feeling mighty and powerful get replaced with vulnerability and insecurity, divinity in exchange for humanity.
A deep sigh escaped Eun Woo’s lips as he watched you cry into your pillows for the fifth time this week.
„What’s wrong?“, his friend asked concerned.
„It’s y/n.“, he answered flatly.
„What about her?“
Eun Woo turned around and mustered his friend, thinking of the right words to predict his dilemma.
„Do you remember when she used to be with us up here?“
His friend nodded silently.
„Back then we made the perfect plan. We created our own drama, so to say.“
„What was it about?“
Flashbacks of those times entered his mind, filling his heart with a deep longing.
„Are you really sure, y/n?“, Eun Woo whispered while placing delicate kisses on your neck.
„Yes. I want to do it like that this time.“, you nodded enthusiastically.
„My love. Let’s go through the plan once more, then.“
„I will incarnate onto earth and live a miserable life. I will fail in love over and over until I can’t take it anymore. I want to discover love as a fragile, little human. I want to understand their pain and their agony. I want to be miserable, utterly miserable. I want to build my own hell and I want to understand how I’m doing it… And then, once I’m ready, then you show up, BOOM, the love of my life - in heaven and on earth and you rescue me from my deep despair and then we can be..“
„Happy.“, he interrupted.
A big smile formed on your face.
„Yes. Happy.“
„So, why are you so sad then? The plan seems solid.“, Eun Woo’s friend remarked.
„Somehow it’s not. She did fail in love. A lot of times. But somehow she can’t get past that stage..“, Eun Woo explained.
„How can that happen? Isn’t it written in the stars, like destiny?“
„It should be, yes.“
Both stayed silent for a while and thought about ways to resolve this.
„Can’t you just swoop in and rescue her?“
He shook his head sadly.
„Why not?“
„Because she wouldn’t let me.“
„Let you? Aren’t you like… her soulmate?“, his friend asked confused.
„I am. And because of that I will always find my way back to her, heaven or earth, doesn’t really matter. But she’s not ready for me, yet.“
„How can you tell?“
Eun Woo walked over to the shelf where he was keeping his collection of your play. Each act carefully documented, each act waiting for its grand finale. He came back with a heavy book, searching for the right pages.
„Do you know when souls finally find each other?“, Eun Woo asked.
„No idea.“, his friend remarked.
„It’s when they’re ready for one another. Now tell me - do you think this sounds ready?“, he asked as he pushed the book over to his friend.
It’s official - I am unlovable. Seems like everybody and their mother can find the love of their lives but not me. I’m not meant for love. I’m meant for heartbreak. Because that’s what men do - break your heart. First, they use me for sex and then they dispose me like a tissue. Reject me. Abandon me. Block me.
Relationships suck. Love sucks. This is too hard and it always ends in pain. Fuck this shit, I’m going to die alone. Because apparently nobody wants to be with me. Or get to know me. I’m just not someone you fall in love with.
„Yikes“, Eun Woo’s friend flinched. „Gotta give it to her - she does sound like a real human though.“, he drily remarked.
Eun Woo rolled his eyes in frustration. This shit was eating him up.
Even if he descended onto earth now and forgot about all your pain, he would never be able to get through to you.
„Men really did a number on her, huh?“, his friend asked.
„It’s what she wanted. Some drama to enjoy our love more. And drama she got…“, he explained sadly.
„So what are you going to do?“
Eun Woo averted his gaze back onto you, watching you from above as you cried and cried and cried.
„Waiting for a miracle, I guess.“
„Aren’t you tired of waiting?“
„What else am I supposed to do?“, he snapped.
„The plan is already rigged, you said so yourself. Can’t you use that to your advantage and rig it further?“, his friend proposed.
Eun Woo thought for a second - could he really do that? Go against fate like that?
Your sobs made his stomach churn once again, he had to act, no matter the consequences.
„Come with me“, he demanded as he left the room.
„Where are we going?“, his friend called after him.
„Rigging the fucking plan.“

Hello and welcome!
I’m Kleo and I’m here to present some k-pop related tarot readings to you.

I have never ever met any of the idols / actors / celebrities in my readings, I don’t know them personally. Tarot reading isn’t an exact science and I can never guarantee any of it. Most of it is my intuition mixed with fantasy. Don’t take these readings seriously and don’t base any important decisions on tarot readings only, use your common sense.
If you wish to request a tarot reading, please read the pinned post on my profile first to see the instructions on how to request. I only do readings for idols / actors / celebrities of 18 years of age or older. Requests for readings including younger people will be automatically dismissed. Cha Eun Woo
Cha Eunwoo - ASTRO
Spread: Relationship Role
Deck: E. A. Poe
Friend - 4 of Swords, XIV Temperance
Friend Cha Eunwoo is the calm and steady anchor in life. He’s the type of friend one can always rely on and count on to keep a cool head and give wise advice. He’s emotionally mature and balanced, a perfect guide and mentor. However he prefers to keep his privacy for himself so hanging in his home is not very likely. Eunwoo is also likely to ask for his personal space to be respected. He’s not cold but he’s probably not going to be the hugging type either.
Boyfriend - XV The Devil, 4 of Cups
It seems like when it comes to dating, Eunwoo can be a handful. It’s likely he has a strong libido and therefore he expects the physical aspect of the dating to come as soon as possible. He might suffer from tension and cravings ever since the first date. It’s likely for him to become possessive and controllable from the very first moment. If his significant other doesn’t feel the same and wants to take the dating slowly, Eunwoo is likely to lose interest and withdraw from the relationship, ignoring his love till the relationship inevitably breaks.
Lover - Ace of Cups, 3 of Cups
While being a bit of a pain when it comes to playing the boyfriend role, Eunwoo is likely to become one of the best lovers in his partner’s life. Once he’s in the bedroom, all the tension drops and he transforms into a sensual, passionate and most loving and caring lover. He’s full of… emotions and desire. Eunwoo is an exceptionally skilled and sensitive lover. Considering how much he always wants it, he truly enjoys love making like if it was a celebration. Prepare for some fireworks.
Husband - I The Magician, XIII The Death
Cha Eunwoo would give a lot of thought to the marriage institution before entering it. For him it’s a very serious matter and he knows that once he becomes a husband, his life changes completely. He would become a very devoted husband, cheating would be out of question. He’s likely to be the breadwinner of the household and the head of the family. Eunwoo sees a marriage as an accomplishment and he will do anything to make it work. When deeply in love, Eunwoo won’t hesitate to bring sacrifice, to transform or to move abroad if it’s necessary.
One-Night-Stand - 3 of Pentacles, VII The Chariot
Eunwoo might go for a one night stand if he’s pushed or hassled. Something like a drunken bet might make him seduce a stranger for a wild night because his pride urges him to win any bet. It’s probably not going to be something he would be particularly proud about but the fact he won the bet is something he might actually be happy about.

Genre: Angst, Fluff [I tried writing a clean one, so the ending is like that LMAO] Celebrity AU????
Title: The one where Y/N is famous
a/n:  idk if the person who req this wants to be tagged, but thank you anw. I'll tag them once they replied. I hope you like it. Y/N is really the main character here, I gave her her moment. I also added a little SMAU because.
edit: turns out they want to be tagged. Thank you @yourdepressedgorl for requesting :)
•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡
Shoving your phone back to your clutch and muttering some curse words under your breath. "Are you ready, Ms. Y/N?" Your assistant and manager eyed you nervously. Being mean isn't really your personality, however they know it when you're pissed, you're pissed.
"Give me a minute." You spat as you sit in your black dress with beads of silver, backless and a slit that could go on higher, but your manager asked you that you have to stay modest... at least. Your hair is down and just recently went balayage treatment.
You're whole look was based on the character that you played recently. A protagonist-antagonist filthy rich bitch, that character sticks to you, because it was a roller coaster playing the part. It was so great it landed you in this event.
You've been looking forward going to this award show not just because you've been nominated 6 times and this event is only for well-known celebrities, it was an honor to be invited. But you're secret boyfriend who happens to be invited as well because of his soap 'Hwarang' just decline your proposal to come as a couple or even friends. He made great points on how it would be a bad idea for the both of you and your careers to publicize your relationship.
"You have an upcoming leads, I can't risk that, baby. Besides, we have an album to release and a few appearances on some soap." Remembering his good reasons made you even angrier, not quite sure if on him or yourself. "I know you understand me, I'll see you later."
Huffing over the memory made both Sunhee and Mr. Song flinch. "You know what, I'll go ahead and you guys should... stay or talk it out. I'll assure everyone." The noise and flashes from outside became harsher.
The moment the car door shut Sunhee turn to you, "It's Taehyung-oppa, isn't it."
"Ugh!" You groan and crossed your arms, "I know his right, but I don't want to look pathetic without a date in this event. I should've just accepted Cha Eun-Woo's invite."
She sigh and pat your exposed shoulder, "Unni, don't ruin your night over this- Wait, really Cha Eun-Woo asked you?" Raising one of your brows then nodding unimpressed, she continued with her comfort. "Taehyung-oppa just going to make great points and apologize for upsetting you, that's the downside of being in a relationship with a perfect man."
That wasn't comforting at all, but she was right you can't ruin this event for him (and your immaturity). For tonight, you'll forget about him and just enjoy yourself, with a little luck you'll take home all 6 awards.
Breathing in and out, exercising your mouth because this will be a lot of smiling and finally clearing your mind out of Taehyung. You nodded at Sunhee giving her the signal to open the door, smiling widely as camera flashes, being in the industry for almost 10 years– they don't bother you anymore, the lights. However the questions being thrown are kind of getting into you.
"Y/N! Y/N! Who are you with tonight?"
"It is true that no one asked you to be their  date?!"
"Y/N, who are you wearing?!"
"Y/N, tell us about your upcoming shows!"
"You don't deserve to be here!"
"I love you Y/N! Marry me!" You smiled as your fans tried to fight your haters and paparazzi’s comments.
Thanking God after you reached the top of the stairs, interviewers, journalist and big celebrities coming for the biggest social event filled the area. Your manager flagging you with his arms waving and mouthing 'here, here'. Embarrassing? Yes, but beside him is one the biggest magazine journalist.
"Good Evening, Ms. Y/N! You look stunning tonight." She cheerfully exclaimed in her big microphone covered in red foam. "How long did it took you to prepare for tonight?"
Pushing the mic in front of you, she has this wide smile on her face, the same with everyone around you. "All my life! I've been waiting for this, it is such an honor to be invited and be nominated." Exclaiming happily.
"Congrats on your nominations, by the way!"
"Thank you! Thank you!"
"I heard that you turn down some men to accompany you here?" Again pushing the red mic, you glance over your manager who's giving thumbs up.
Shaking your head, "That's not true, I can't think of anyone who wants to be here with me." You joked with a dash of lie and hint of pain in your voice.
"Oh, c'mon! You're Y/F/N who doesn't want to be with you. I asked some actors who's they're favorite and everyone's rooting for you!" She was almost shouting as the surrounding is getting louder. "It's your turn, who's your favorite actor?"
Your face heats up as one name flashes in your head, "As of the moment, I really like Kim Taehyung's performance in Hwarang! I hope he gets lead roles in the future!"
She agreed with you and asked a few more questions, it was going great until your manager place his hand on your back to move to another journalist. You were politely saying good-bye, but she was interrupted by her own excitement, "Kim Taehyung, hi!"
His hands are in his pocket as he strides to the woman who called his name. Hair in perfect curls falling down his forehead, perfectly fitted turtle neck hides behind his long black coat. It's almost like he wore that to match your outfit, he saw your dress when you wear trying it yesterday, could it be?
His brown eyes found yours, managing not to roll your eyes at him for being incredibly hot and not allowing you to flex him as your boyfriend. A small smile form as he scans your dress, Taehyung manages to slip a wink before turning back to his interview.
"Y/N." You snap and look at your manager, "He's talking to you."
You smiled and nod, answering short as you try to eavesdrop to Taehyung's conversation. He laughs low and answer every questions a short as he can. Every time you gaze over his way he would lick his lips, he's must doing that on purpose because he knows how much you like it when he licks his lips, you thought.
"I interviewed Cha Eun-Woo earlier, he said that you turned him down, but you did it so politely. Is that true?"
In the midst of the background noise you manage to hear as the journalist that interviewed you earlier ask Taehyung the same question, "Who is your favorite actress?"
You focus your hearing in his answer, antsy to hear your name come out from his lips, "My favorite actress?" Smirk form as he thinks, "I guess Kim..." He muttered a name that you didn't catch, but you know it wasn't yours.
The interviewer in front of you face falls as your whole demeanour changes. Suddenly you bright smile and cheery attitude earlier vanishes into thin air, "Y/N, are you okay?" Your manager touches your shoulder.
"I'm sorry if I ever offended you in anyway, Ms. Y/N." He bowed his head.
"It's fine, I'm sorry. Just a little nervous." You smiled half-heartedly.
---TIME JUMP ---
After announcing the nominees for the best supporting role you manage to keep your posture as Taehyung's face appeared on screen with others. Still praying for him to win because this will open so many opportunities for him.
"And the best supporting role goes to..." Park Shin-hye look up to the crowd for suspense, "Mr. Kim Taehyung of Hwarang."
Proudness painted your face, forgetting that he upsets you tonight as you clap for him. Taehyung bowed his head when they handed him his award. The room went silent waiting for his speech.
"Thank you, so much this! To Wooga and everyone who's part of Hwarang! It was amazing to work with you guys, I hope to work with you again soon!" His eyes darted on you, however you weren't sure. You've stand in his position before and that spotlight is blinding, but you could feel that his gaze is for you. "To my family and special someone, thank you for your supports! I love you!" He bowed once more and exits the stage.
Claps with whispers roared, "Is he seeing someone?" Kim Ji-won who's sitting next to you leaned in to ask, as everyone did to someone next to them, hoping to get answer if the handsome man is already taken?
Smug played over your face, "Not that I know of?" She just nodded and continued clapping. Taehyung kept his gaze at you as he passed by your table. Now that he’s done accepting his award you can finally go to the restroom to powder your nose. "Excuse me. I'll freshen up, could you keep an eye on my stuff?" Pertaining to your 3 awards that you just won, Ji-won nodded delightfully.
You were stopped by Eun-woo on your way to an empty hallway that leads to the restrooms, “Y/N!” His parted hair and angelic face is really hard to miss with tux that fits him perfectly, “I haven’t congratulated you yet.” He places both of his hands on your shoulders before pulling you into a hug that caught you off guard, but returning it gladly.  “Congratulations on 3 awards and 3 more coming.”
“Please!” you giggled as you lightly push him away, “by the way, I’m sorry for turning you down.. twice.”
He rolled his eyes playfully, “Don’t apply alcohol to the burned area.” You laughed and apologized, “You look stunning, as usual. Do you mind taking a quick pic?”
Nodding your head with a smile, he raised his hand to call the attention of the events photographer. He snake his hands around your waist to snug you close, you can smell his cologne which is a mixture of fresh and floral with a note of woody whiff. It’s not Taehyung intoxicating, but he smells nice. You didn’t mind his action because you’ve work with him before as your leading, you became friends with him after that, whatever it is between the two of you is platonic… at least to you.
“Thank you! See you around, Y/N!” You smiled one last time before heading your way.
After doing your business and retouching your lips and foundation you stride on the empty hallway, just you, the muffled noise and your heels clinking. You walk slowly, feeling a little exhausted from smiling, feet numbing on your strappy heels and just plain famish as they only served pretentious sizes of food. So, you weren't really in the mood to talk to Taehyung when you found him going in your direction.
His deadpan expression and side eyes on you as you pass each other made you question the situation. You were the one who’s upset at him for turning you down to come together in this event. Why is he the one ignoring you? “That’s it? You’re not even going to say hi to your boyfriend?” That stops your tracks. “Is it because I’m not Eun-woo?”
Clenching your jaw and turning your heels, “Are you talking to me or your favorite actress?” You can hear how petty you sound right now, but he should know well not to start with you.
Taehyung’s lips formed an ‘o’, “Is that why your trying to make me jealous?” His voice is low as he walks towards you.
“I am not trying anything,” Trying to hold the next words that will come out from your lips was grueling, and you’re too tired to even fight with yourself.  So you just let it slip, “Just like you, not even making an effort in this relationship.” The clench on his jaw loosens as he scoffs, “I’m not asking for much Taehyung.”
“I just don’t want any-“
“Rumors.”  Finishing his sentences made him even more annoyed, but you kept a straight face “With me? But you don’t have any problems having one with your favorite actress?” His face softens as he sees where he fucked up and realizes why you’re acting up ever since you offered to come to this event as a couple. Why is he so scared to link your names together when there’s nothing wrong with it?
“Y/N, wait-“
“Don’t worry, we’re good.” You strut out of the hallway before your tears fall or he could say another word, you don’t want to look pathetic in front of everyone specially Taehyung. Attempting to compose yourself before you walk back inside the event’s place.
You might sound unfair right now, but you’ve been in this relationship far too long. As much as he doesn’t want rumors, there’s already some circulating. Even his fans loved you for him, his management said its okay for him to be in a public relationship. Since your status as a highest paid actress will help him boost his career, Taehyung’s the only one who doesn’t want to address the rumor and you didn’t want to force it on him. You were okay with it at first, but it’s been a year and you’ve had enough of him being rumored with other women. He might just laugh it off when being asked about those girls, but you’re hurting when he does it to your name.
Having a hard time finishing the event with a heavy heart, you started calling Sun-hee to come get you. “Unni, one more nomination then we can go home.” She sound uneasy, your manager must be with her.
“Fine.” You toss your phone on the table making a loud thud.
Ji-won stood from her seat and excuse herself. Smile forms her lips and winks at you, “Thank you, Noona.” Taehyung sat beside you without giving much of an eye contact. “Don’t stare, just watch.”
“You don’t get to boss me right after you made me upset.” You pulled a face. “What are you doing?”
“Being with my girlfriend.” He side glances meeting your gaze, “Is that okay?” He places his hand on the table where he found yours, clasping it for everyone to see.
“Is this how you’re going to apologize?”
His whole demeanor didn’t change, but you felt him squeeze your hand. “I’m sorry, I was being selfish.” He turned to you and pouted. “I didn’t know that you were hurting. I guess being private and hiding are two different things and I was doing the latter. I love you and you know that, right?”
You stare at him longer than anticipated, so he continues. “I’ll be a better boyfriend, promise.” He is a better boyfriend, perfect even. Now, it aches in your heart that he thinks that. He lifted your hands to place a kiss on your knuckles.
You were about to answer when they called your name, the camera pan at you as you smiled awkwardly. Your intertwined hands are part of being shown on the screen. The cheer became louder and even the host were shock on what they just witness, but she didn’t say a word about it.
“And the winner is,” She let out a squeal, “Y/F/N. Congratulations!”
Taehyung were the first to give you a hug before letting you go on stage. You feel ecstatic, but not because of the award. You can feel your face blushing as everyone cheering for you which isn’t also for the award. You look back on the screen and your boyfriend’s proud face showing, clapping for you.
“You’ve probably tired of seeing me up here. So, I’ll make this quick.” You pant, trying to catch your breath while calming yourself down. “Thank you for everyone who supported my movie and to the staff who work their best! I am truly grateful to be accepting this award! To my fans, as always amazing at showing support, I love you guys! And to my special someone, thank you and I love you so much!” You raised your award a little before bowing.
Taehyung gave you a peck on the lips the moment you sat down, “I’m happy for you.” He mutters on your ears, his lingering hot breath made you shiver.
“T-thank you.” Your stuttering voice made him chuckle. “Stop that, Tae. Everyone’s looking.” You were pertaining at his hand that’s rubbing up and down your exposed legs.
“Let them look.” Regretting that you want to be public with him, forgetting that he’s frisky and likes to see you squirm. He always does this in front of your families and friends, now he has a whole new crowd to tease you. “You can’t be seriously wearing this fucking dress and thinking that I’m not going to do anything about it.”
“Stop it.”
Your breath hitch as his hands went higher, “A string? Naughty.” The table wiggles when your knee jerk as Taehyung snaps your band on your skin.
“Sorry.” You mouthed to everyone around the table. “If you want to go, just say that.” You whisper-shouted.
A bright look form on Taehyung’s face. “I want to go.”
All 5 awards and that’s not even going to be the highlight of your evening.

Relax (Eun Woo Oneshot)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Guard! EunWoo x Royal! Reader (gender-neutral)
Genre: Fluff, maybe slightly angst
Word count: 1,987
No warnings
Summary: When Eun Woo wants to protect you, but you just want him to relax and enjoy.
A/N: This was inspired by this prompt.
The mountains that surrounded the city reflected the colors of the sky more clearly, as if they were its own starless, self-lit expanse, lacking only by the hardy winter trees. Looking at them brought a feeling of peace and tranquility, protection even, because no one would dare tarnish such beauty. But it was not the splendor that prevented the invaders.
The few who tried to cross them quickly understood the dangers that probed the ground covered with frozen water in crystalline form. A sound at the wrong time would cause the crime to be covered by the cold, deadly hands of the natural shield of that small royal town.
The entire realm, in fact, was devastatingly beautiful and intimidating, hidden between mountains and valleys, protected by nature more than by guards and armies. They didn't need to get unstuck much to deter invaders and thieves. Never, in all its grand history, had the kingdom of Hanian been so threatened as to demand extra protection from any royal or its subjects.
Therefore, the citizens of Etherna, the royal city, did not understand the gravity of the situation and continued to offer their grandiose balls and banquets, to which the royal family could not refuse to participate, as the flaunting would be more dangerous than the possible invaders.
Also, there was the fact that this city was the most protected and the most difficult to enter or leave. Which in itself was a danger, as escape was unlikely. Even so, they were all gathered in the magnanimous gardens of Lady Khmer's mansion, dancing to flutes and violins.
"Would it kill you to relax?" you provoked your personal guard.
Since before you left the palace, Eun Woo had been alert, rigid, ready to attack anyone who got in your way (which almost happened when one of the guests who had already arrived at the dance drunk bumped into you and fell in front of you). Cha Eun Woo was the best guard in all of Hanian, assigned to you to protect the sole heir to the throne, but the fact that he was inordinately good bothered you a little, mostly because you would do anything to see a smile on his perfectly shaped lips.
“Probably,” he responded to your teasing, still scanning his surroundings as if searching for some hidden killer. “Likely it would kill you too. That's rather the point."
You smiled. Eun Woo's acid humor and straightforward responses were the traits you liked best about him. Of course, you also appreciated the symmetrical face and satin skin, with eyes so expressive they made up for the constant serious and focused countenance. The body was also not to be thrown away, with defined muscles and prepared for any battle.
“I'll risk it,” you said, drawing the guard's gaze to you, and held out a hand. “Dance with me.”
Eun Woo frowned and didn't move, noting the gloved hand in front of him.
Before he even opened his mouth to respond, you already knew what the words would be, so you just spoke before him: "It's an order."
A deep sigh was the only clue to the tormented state of your personal guard, as he remained serious and alert as he gave in to your request and took your hand to lead you onto the dance floor.
The smile on your lips deepened when you saw Eun Woo sigh once more at the scandalized looks of the other guests. It wasn't the first time you decided to shock royalty by dancing with your personal guard. In fact, that was your most common rebellious act and you didn't understand how the nobles and burghers weren't used to it yet.
“Look at me,” you ordered as Eun Woo's dark orbs scanned the hall on your first lap of the track.
He didn't sigh this time, just looked into your eyes and stayed that way for the rest of the time. The muscles were still stiff under your hands, a clear indication that he was still prepared to jump in front of an arrow to defend you.
“I'm not going to tell you to relax,” you stated, realizing that your words had exactly the opposite effect.
That was your best-known trick, at least between the two of you. After so many years as monarch and personal guard, you and Eun Woo had forged a kind of friendship that no one in the realm understood. Sometimes even you didn't understand. However, you came to appreciate the man in front of you so much that you used every resource in your power to make him relax and have fun whenever you could. Eun Woo never complained, not even to his companions, who often blurted out near you that Eun Woo had already commented on appreciating your dedication to his mental health.
He had never questioned you either. From the first time you had tried to make him relax, Eun Woo had accepted your orders like any other, as if your every word mattered. Until this moment, of course...
“Why are you doing this?” he asked, his husky voice invading your senses and raising the hairs on the back of your neck.
"I don't like to see you so stiffened."
"I have a duty here, Your Highness." Despite the firm tone of voice, you could feel that he was dancing calmly, as you intended. “If anything happens to you because I was careless for a minute…”
“Nothing will happen,” you interrupted him. “We are in the most protected kingdom in the world, in the most difficult city to penetrate. I have the best guard ever.”
“None of this is a guarantee…”
“If someone breaks a plate somewhere, you will stop your steps, put me behind your back, and verify who was responsible so you can kill or forgive. If a hum invades the melody that surrounds us, you will scan the surroundings with those deep eyes and find the reason to decide whether to hide me or continue dancing.”
"Your Highness..."
“I'm well protected,” you wouldn't let him speak and stiffen again. After all the turmoil your kingdom was going through, you and Eun Woo, as well as everyone in the royal family, deserved that night's rest. "I have you so I'm fine."
He sighed again, this time more softly. And for a split second, you saw the corners of his beautiful lips move upwards as if they were trying to smile.
“You overestimate me,” he said, causing you to snap back to reality and stop dreaming of a completely relaxed Cha Eun Woo.
“No, I'm a realist. It's different,” you replied, still smiling.
You were silent again, enjoying the last chords of the waltz that lulled you. Eun Woo was by far the best dance partner you've ever had and the fact that you talked and interacted in those few minutes made it the dance you'd most enjoyed in your entire life.
When you left the dance floor and returned to the secluded and sheltered corner you were at before, you treasured that night even more, as it was the first time Eun Woo had held your hands together for so long after the dance. He only released you when you were stopped and alone again.
“Your Highness,” he called softly, drawing your eyes to the perfect face that didn't even resemble that of a royal guard. "I appreciate your concern and I admit that perhaps I overreacted tonight."
Even though your eyes widened at the unexpected words, you managed to control yourself in time to joke and say, "Perhaps?"
This time, contrary to everything you knew and recognized about Cha Eun Woo, the smile rehearsed on the dance floor actually appeared on the guard's face, reaching his dark eyes, which thinned as they smiled along with his lips. Your heart raced in such a way that you thought you were having a cardiac arrhythmia.
"As I was saying," he continued, keeping the corners of his lips raised and your heart pounding, "I may have overreacted tonight, but I need to ask you not to distract me again."
“What? Why?" You didn't understand. You even won a smile with your endeavor, how could he not want you to do that again?
"I cannot lose you."
Frustrated, you took a deep breath and huffed, clenching your hands into fists before you began gesturing as you said, "I already told you, I know I'm well protected..."
"You'll always be," it was Eun Woo's turn to interrupt you, "that's not the point."
"Then what is?" you asked, moving closer to him when you noticed the smile leaving that face you cherished so much. "Why can't you just have a little fun with me?"
“But I have fun with you all the time…”
“Eun Woo…”
“Your Highness,” he spoke pointedly, cutting off any argument that began with his name that would make him keep silent if you ordered him to. "I wouldn't forgive myself."
“What are you talking about?" you asked, furrowing your brow.
Again, he sighed. Then, once again contradicting your expectations and shocking anyone who looked at you, including yourself, he placed his hands on your shoulders to stop the advance you kept making towards him. But he kept you close enough that the whispered words that came out of his mouth could only be heard by you.
“I can, yes, pay close attention to my surroundings and protect you faster than any other royal guard, but even I have my limits, and having you in my arms, looking at the smile that paints your face, is a very powerful distraction.” Once again, your eyes widened at the words. “At any other day, any other time,” he continued, “I wouldn't mind not resisting you. But we are facing a unique threat, an enemy that knows how to penetrate our defenses that should be impenetrable. I can't afford the distraction. If I lose you, I won't forgive myself.”
That was definitely the longest speech that Cha Eun Woo had given you in all your years together. Not only because there were so many words, but also because there was still so much he was saying between the lines. And it was everything you've dreamed of hearing since setting eyes on that perfect-in-every-way guard.
You knew you could never ask for more from him than that, knew you could never get what you really wanted from him because it wouldn't be fair for you not to be able to give it back. Your eyes filled with tears at the realization that you couldn't respond to unspoken words. Your lips trembled with the force you took to hold back the answer that was on the tip of your tongue. You loved him. With all your might. Nor would you forgive yourself if you lost him.
So you understood and accepted his argument, nodding once firmly so that he could see that you were agreeing without saying anything. Eun Woo watched your face and opened his eyes a little wider than usual, in his own expression of surprise, before reluctantly releasing your shoulders and taking two steps away.
“I promise not to distract you anymore,” you finally managed to say.
"Thank you," he muttered, looking away from you and taking in his surroundings.
Once again, you looked at the icy mountains that surrounded the city and wished that protection was enough to bring peace to Eun Woo's mind and body, you prayed to any of the gods that the threat would be neutralized so that your guard could relax in your arms again.
You smiled then, looking back at Eun Woo, who once again had the mask of concentration and seriousness on his face.
"But can't we even take a walk in the gardens?"
"Sure," he responded to your teasing, "I can put a target in your head too if you like."
The acid humor was still the man's best feature.

Just because
A/n: I was supposed to release the Jinyoung one first, but I already started this one anyways. My first Astro fanfic woo! I was supposed to get this out last week, but I was sick and bed ridden for 3 days. I needed to catch up with work as well. I guess there won’t be any schedule for my fanfics and you’ll just have to put notifs on. I think the first parts of each fanfic will be pretty short, but I promise it will get juicer in the middle. I hope you enjoy! :D BTW this was requested by one of my friends, love you !
Fluff, Cha eun woo x reader, University AU, eventual smut (in a few chapters), friends with benefits.
1740 words
You ducked your head out of the taxi and looked at the giant building that was in front of you. The bright sun shined on your face and the cool breeze blew through your hair. “A new day, a new beginning.” You thought.
“Hey lady!” You heard a man with a heavy accent behind you. You turned around to see your taxi driver holding your bags,  “Are you going to take your bags? Or will I have to steal them?”
“No, I’ll take them. Thank you!” You quickly walked to him and took your bags. He snarled at you and drove off leaving a cloud of gas for you to breath in. You turned around and followed the signs to get your dorm room. The whole school was a maze to you, even after the orientation. There were so many twists and turns inside and outside. Although you got to explore the campus a bit more. You noted where the jocks hung out, the nerds had their meetings and where the hipsters chilled just to name a few. Eventually, you found your way to the table to get your key. A blonde caucasian girl who was wearing a typical grunge outfit sat in front of you. She was so smiley that preppiness just oozed out of her, “Hi! Welcome to Carvard, what’s your name?”
“It’s (y/n) (l/n).” She looked up and down her list tracing her finger after each name, “Oh, here you are!” She turned around and took a key out of a box, “Here’s your key.” You took it from her hand and shoved it in your pocket, “Thanks.” you said and forced yourself to smile.
“It seems that you are rooming with a senior. Oh I know her, she’ll be a lot of fun! Well, I hope you have a blast with your 4 years here! Bye bye now!” You walked away rolling your bag with you. She was way too preppy for your liking to the point it was annoying.
You reached the girls dorm rooms and walked down the hall. “Room 248… ah here it is.” You opened your door and saw a girl laid down on the left bed on her phone. Her attention immediately went to you. She jumped up and dropped her phone on the bed and rushed to you.
“You must be (y/n)! I cannot wait to share a room with you! I’m Kayla.” She pulled you into a hug squeezing the life out of you. “Oh great, another one of these.” She let go of you and got the hint that you were faking a smile, “Okay, you’re one of those people. I get it, you don’t like the preppy types, I can be chill.” You nodded in silence and awkwardness filled the room.
“Here, why don’t you unpack and everything and then check out all the clubs and sports? Sounds like a good chance to bond right?” You could tell she was trying her best to be friends with you. “Maybe I should try to get to know her. I mean, she will be my roommate for most of my University years.” You rolled your bag to your bed and walked to her, “I’ll just leave my bag here. Let’s go.” She walked in front of you and lead the way, but you could tell she was trying to act chill.
Both of you walked side by side and took your sweet time walking to where all the clubs were. You two got to know each other and you learned a lot about her. She is the type to adjust to the people around her to make them feel comfortable. She is also a huge flirt and could get with any guy she wanted. It made sense, she had the body, the looks, and she has a way of talking to have anyone like her. This is why she’s well known on campus as the “all rounder.” She is every personality mashed into one person, which just made her even more lovable. She is a nerd at heart, yet sporty and active.
“Since I have been here for a year, I know how this school functions.”
“Well, of course you do. I mean, it’s not that hard to know how a University works.” She shook her head and let out a little giggle, “Not like that silly! I meant, the social anarchy, the “food chain” if you will. There are frat houses and sororities here as you may know. Most of them are at the top, just not the nerdy ones. I feel bad, they’re good people. Anyways, you have them. Then there’s us, the regulars. The jocks and cheerleaders who are not in frats or sororities, which is not likely but they do exist, are at the top. Then the art, hipster people, the geeks, the one’s that are always high, the nerds…” you stopped her confused.
“Aren’t nerds and geeks the same thing?” she scoffed and patted your shoulder.
“No! Geeks are the ones who are into video games and comics. The nerds are the brainiacs and always base everything off of science or math. Now, I may I continue?” You let out a faint smile and nodded. She was about to continue talking when someone caught her eye. She freaked out and started to hit your arm.
“Ow! What is it?” She was speechless and pointed to someone. It was a tall figure with wavy hair and in all black. You looked around and almost every girl was swooning over him. You have to admit, he was good looking, but not your type. You had a mischievous look on your face. You found her weakness and teased her, “Aww, does Kayla have a crush on the cute boy.” She immediately covered your mouth with her hand, “Shut up!” You laughed and pushed her hand away.
“He’s a senior okay? I’ve had my eye on him for the past year.”
“Makes sense, ‘cause you know, you went after many guys in that year.” She stuck her palm out jestering you to stop.
“Okay, that is a different story that I will explain later.” You rolled your eyes and chuckled. “What should I do? I’ve never been nervous before, especially when it comes to guys.” You put your hands on her shoulders and gently pushed her towards him, “Just go up to him.”
She squirmed in your grip and hid behind you, “What if he doesn’t like me? What if he doesn’t find me attractive? He’s one of the people who are at the top of the food chain. I can’t embarrass myself! I’ll be a laughing stock and that will go on until I die and never find anyone to marry and I’ll die alone and-” You stopped her rambling by flicking her on the forehead.
“Calm yourself! Just be yourself and talk to him. Don’t over think and just GO!” She took a deep breath and took two steps before she turned around to you, “Do I look like a mess?”
“Just go!” She nodded and walked to him. Surprisingly, he started the conversation. You felt like a proud mom at that moment and walked to where the clubs were. You walked around for a good 30 minutes until you got bored. None of them caught your attention and you walked to the quad. It wasn’t full, but it wasn’t empty either. Some were having lunch, others were playing chess, it was diverse. You could tell who were at the top of the “food chain” and who were just the regulars. You found an empty spot on the grass and laid down. The sky was clear and beautiful. You let out a sigh and closed your eyes. It was only noon time and you felt tired. You didn’t care at this point whether or not you fell asleep. You felt yourself drifting off to dreamland where everything is perfect. Even though you were an adult, you were still a child at heart.
You were walking on the beach, waves crashing on your legs. You felt at peace. No one was around you, no cars to be heard, just nature and the sun’s rays hitting your face. You missed summer vacation, being with your high school friends on a private island that your rich friend owned. You wanted to go back at the time where you knew the people around you, but you also wanted a new start. Just then, in the distance, you heard someone yell “watch out.” *Thud*
You woke up from your nap and felt pain on your stomach. You looked to your left and it was a football. You sat up in anger and picked up the ball. You wanted to pierce a pen inside it and hit whoever threw it, but you contained yourself. You heard footsteps getting closer to you until figure towered over you and covered the sun. You looked up to a man with pale skin, brown eyes, pink lips and a tall nose. He looked concerned for your well being.
“Are you okay?” The man said. You were still mad, and stood up. He was still towering over you. You looked up and shoved the football into his chest.
“I’m fine, thanks for asking.” you responded sarcastically. Another person came running beside him. He had light brown hair and was a bit shorter than the other one.
“Sorry, he’s not a great catch.” He pointed at him with his thumb. The other boy turned to him angry, “Wha-? Are you trying to blame me?”
“If you caught it, it wouldn’t have hit her.”
“But you threw it too high!” They bickered back and forth forgetting your presence.
“I’ll leave the married couple to fight.” you turned to leave when one of them grabbed your wrist to stop you, “No, don’t leave.” You turned around with an irritated look on your face. The tall one took his hand off and took a step back. “I’m sorry for having the ball hit you.” The other nodded frivolously with a big smile one his face, “Yep, all his fault.” The tall one hit him in the chest and looked at him, “It’s both our fault.”
They seemed genuinely sorry, well at least the tall one, “I accept your apology.” The tall one felt a huge wave of relief and stuck his hand out to you, “I’m Eun Woo by the way.”

An Eun Woo x Reader story
You’re with me because of a bet…?
Word count: 0.9k
As requested by @astroari ♡
Tumblr media
Astro just had an important win, so the members decide to throw a party on their vacation day. As Eun Woo’s girlfriend, it’s a given that you’re invited.
You bring your cup of tea to your lips, smiling at the scene before you. Right now, Jinjin, MJ, Moon Bin and Rocky are sleeping, cuddled together on the couch. Too much excitement and alcohol, you suppose. Tonight, you’ve opted to not drink, for your sober self by itself is already kind of a mess. Plus, you don’t need to drink to have fun: drunk Astro is by far the most entertaining thing you’ve ever seen.
“Noonaaaaa,” Yoon San Ha says, leaning into you. “Noonaaaaa, you’re prettyyyy!”
You laugh, gently pushing him away. “Thanks, San Ha.”
“Noona… Do you know how much I like you? I-”
“Oy,” Eun Woo interjects. “That’s my girlfriend you’re speaking to.”
Eun Woo’s cheeks are a bit flushed from the drinks he’s had. You chuckle when he puts an arm around your waist and pulls you closer.
“Oh,” San Ha lets out. “Right.”
Eun Woo clicks his tongue, but you can see his lips slightly curling up. You put your head against his shoulder.
“But Noona,” San Ha says with a pout. “You wouldn’t even be with Eun Woo if it weren’t for the bet Rocky and I-.”
“San Ha, shut it,” Eun Woo quickly interrupts.
You turn to him, eyes wide. He’s not one to speak like that.
“Bet?” you think.
You look back at the maknae.
“What do you mean?” you ask.
Silence.
“What do you mean?” you repeat.
San Ha doesn’t answer, and he’s not looking at you. You follow his gaze and meet Eun Woo’s eyes. You shift your weight away from him.
“Eun Woo…” you say quietly. “What does this mean?”
He blinks. Glances at you. Offers a smile.
“It’s nothing,” he says.
He’s lying.
“Eun Woo,” you utter in a small voice. “Tell me.”
He continues to smile. “It’s really not important.”
You feel your heart slowly sinking.
“Then tell me about it,” you insist.
“It… It isn’t interesting, so let’s just-”
“It is,” you say, and there’s an edge to your words. “It’s interesting to me.”
He opens his mouth. Closes it.
Silence.
You turn to San Ha. He’s fidgeting with his glass, his lips in a thin line.
“San Ha…” you say gently. “Won’t you tell me? Please.”
He glances up. Sees Eun Woo.
San Ha shakes his head.
There’s a knot in your stomach.
“Cha Eun Woo,” you say. “Tell me what the fuck is going on.”
“I…” he begins.
Silence.
“A bet?” you ask.
No reply.
“San Ha said that… you wouldn’t be with me if it weren’t for a bet?”
“Th-that’s not…”
Your throat feels tight. It’s hard to breathe.
“Explain yourself.”
“Y/N, it doesn’t matter I swear-”
“It does matter!” you say in a hoarse voice.
A moment passes.
“Speak,” you demand. “Now.”
“Y/N, it’s been so long, and it was stupid… It’s nothing, I-”
“It’s not nothing,” you say coldly. “How can it be nothing when you’re trying so hard not to talk about it?”
Silence.
“Cha Eun Woo… Are you with me because of a bet?” you question, scarcely getting the words out.
“No,” he says. That’s not how it is, I swear!”
You stare at him. “Was there a bet?”
Silence.
“To date me? Were you dared to date me?”
“Y/N…” he breathes.
“Answer me.”
“I- I mean… Technically, yes,” he begins.
A stab through your chest.
“But-”
“Are you fucking serious?”
“Y/N, please, listen-”
You stand up.
“A bet? I’ve been in love with you since the very first day, and you’re telling me you approached me because of a fucking bet?”
“Y/N,” he says with desperation. “I love you.”
“Do you?”
“Of course!” he nearly shouts. “Of course, I love you!”
You raise your voice too. “How can you expect me to believe that?”
“Don’t you know me? All this time we’ve been together-”
“Well, do I know you?” you ask.
The other members have woken up. They watch the both of you, silent.
You don’t see them.
The world is a blur.
“I’m not sure, Eun Woo,” you add in a brittle tone.
He breathes heavily. Studies your face. Licks his lips.
“I don’t know anymore. Do I know you, Cha Eun Woo?” you ask again, and a tear rolls down your cheek.
He makes a motion towards you, but thinks better of it. He looks down.
Silence.
“I’m going,” you utter, barely audible.
You turn to the door. A hand grabs yours.
“I’m sorry,” Eun Woo says.
You shake your hand free, but hesitate before moving again.
He speaks.
“I wanted to tell you,” he says precipitately. “And at the same time I never wanted you to find out.” He pauses. “I was stupid, alright? I know that.”
You wipe away a tear, trying to remain calm.
“I… I love you, Y/N,” he continues, and his words sound like a plea. “I-I fell for you so quickly. Your laugh and your smile and your voice… I just… I love you.”
You take a deep breath.
“You believe me, right?” he questions weakly. “Please, Y/N… Tell me you do.”
A pause.
“I don’t know,” you say.
You take another step towards the door.
“Y/N,” he calls, voice broken.
You decide to give him a second or two, but you already know there’s nothing he can say to make you feel better.
“I love you,” he repeats in a whisper.
You close you eyes. “I’m going.”
“Wh-when are you coming back?” he asks, helpless.
You don’t answer, because you don’t know.
He stares at the door, and you’re gone.
