Since it's gonna be a while before I get to draw again.... You know that thing where you draw a character in the canon style and your own HCs. I want to do that for kiawe but yeah it's not gonna happen soon💀 so I'm just gonna type it out

Compared to his canon model he has: Curlier hair, top scars, more body hair, NO DEFINED SIX PACK he is strong but also. fleshy. Idk how to describe it. But his abs aren't like super defined. Longer cloth on the shoulders cuz i think it looks better. On the necklace instead of those metal things a native hawaiian mutual of mine suggested shark (sharpedo lol) teeth and feathers so. I've drawn him that way ever since idk if anyone noticed. One of the feathers is Talonflame's and the other is Toucannon's (Wren's pokemon) A burn scar somewhere, I think on his left arm near the shoulder but I haven't confirmed it yet. I haven't drawn him that way so far Erm. Next time. Not that I want him to suffer. I just think it's possible he would have burned himself before also it just looks cool Hahahha. Also I guess it's just me but I draw him with a softer expression than the furrowing. If that makes sense. Also giving him a Z-ring like the anime though he doesn't have it on in the games. And after he meets Wren also a friendship bracelet with blue and red since uh yeah. Kiawren

Oh I have never been asked this publicly before (for I have not been asked... anything publicly before this week LOL) but I don't know if you're prepared for how much I have thought about my ocs as pokemon or how much effort I am currently putting in to... Well. You'll see.

So. I have Thoughts.

Here are my thoughts (names quickly added for this to be understandable by anyone but me. But I've had this image made for quite some time)

(I love that regular wingull appears on here twice. It was kind of the only choice for both of them LOL.)

So this is like.. The whole cast of MYMK lmao. Even down to background characters. These are like... PMD style pokemon assignments. I tried to balance "literally looks like them" with "has the right vibes, thematically". So you can see a couple thematic pairs of pokemon like the cherrims, meowstics and such. Then other fun picks like Charizard for Hainu, since he's a, well, hypebeast more than he is a person. Then, Markus and MacGuffin get Silvally and Type: Null for (wink) reasons.... And Miao is Marowak because don't even worry about it. Lupus is Lycanroc-Dusk because funny doggy shounen protagonist :)

Also there are ABSOLUTELY pokemon that fit Tabitha better than Persian does but I've been saying hes one of those since 2015 and I'm attatched to it now.....

The reason I went ahead and planned these out and finalised these recently though.... Is because I also assigned them all ideal ribbons/marks/pokeballs and am going to hunt them all! Right now I'm prioritising getting ones where the ribbons/balls necessitate getting them from gens 4-7, but they're all nearly done and are sitting in ultramoon while I grab the royal master ribbon for a few!

(Obviously I've named pokemon after OCs before but these will be The Definitive Guys... Until next gen inevitably introduces the perfect guy for someone lol. C'est la vie!)

I've got a couple more already in swsh and scvi (recently I caught Lazulite in swsh! Go Raid RNG!) but this is the big first step. As for how many other steps there are....

Anyway! Most of the main characters have fully assigned "if they were a pokemon trainer" Rosters too with some lore. (Chrome does contests, All of Tabitha's pokemon have been gifted to him, Lupus has insane shiny luck, Ali Will Summon Giratina....)

Also! The Alighieri triplets map perfectly onto the shiny meowths! They were the first three I went out of my way to hunt back when I saw shiny G-Meowth and realised!!! Pink Yellow Blue!!! My little guys!!

And lastly the thing you almost certainly weren't asking was "what would your OCs look like if they were fakemon, but I also have that for, you guessed it, Chrome, Tabitha and Ali.

Now... As for bugsnax. I have not played bugsnax but I DO have a resident bugsnax fan... So I asked him out of curiosity and they Extremely Delivered. So, Courtesy of @thebrightesteyes....

Also, of note. Ali (and their siblings) does actually have a canon favourite pokemon and opinion on pokemon because they're from a real-world setting. Thing is they are like, not a gamer. So...

Ali likes Dusknoir and Seviper because they saw them on trading cards as a kid and likes Hoopa Unbound because Ari showed them on pokemon go knowing they'd like the design. If they gamed though they'd LOVE Giratina but Hoopa would probably stay top spot.

What pokemon teams would you give to the Trigun Stampede characters? (Vash, Knives, Wolfwood, Meryl and Roberto)

This seems like something you would like to write about!

And you would be right, dont need to ask me twice to combine Pokemon with literally anything lol

I'll each give them a team of Six, and try to explain it from there! These are for aesthetic purposes, and no way a good team make up lol and of course this got long.

What Pokemon would Vash, Knives, Wolfwood, Meryl and Roberot have?

Vash: Xerneas, Sylveon, Absol, Breloom, Gogoat, and Lycanroc (Midday form)

Okay if you know me this team is biased as hell lol Lots of parallels to Knives because ya know their like two sides of the same coin.

His first pokemon was Eevee, and it evolved into a Sylveon because he has lots of love to give :)

Xerneas are supposed to represent everlasting life! :)))) I'd imagine Vash is responsible for said pokemon but keeps it hidden.

Absol is known as the disaster pokemon! When one appears a disaster follows after, he probs kept running into the poor thing and adopted it

I like to think Breloom and Gogoat are a pair, and Vash probably has a soft spot for grass pokemon. Breloom is a fighter, and Gogoat is a good way to travel.

Vash deserves a dog, the Midday form is very loyal to its trainer and is a lasting companion!

Knives: Yveltal, Umbreon, Aegislash, Zoroark, Kingambit, and Lycanrock (Midnight form)

The flip side of Xerneas is Yveltal, which absorbs the life of everything around :)) Surely in the hands of Knives nothing can go wrong!

Nai probably received an Eevee as well, his just evolved into an Umbreon

Aegislash and Kingambit are self-explanatory they fit his aesthetic. One is literally a floating sword, and Kingambits are leaders and command other pokemon.

A dog for Knives as well! the Midnight form of Lycanroc is more bloodthirsty than its day counterpart.

Zoroark just seems like an all around good Pokémon for him, it can do his bidding lol

Wolfwood: Silvally, Krookodile, Zebstrika, Darkrai, Banette, Mightyena

:))) Type: Null a pokemon that was experimented on, and has great power! But forced to wear its mask to suppress it :)))) They evolve into Silvally when a solid and unbreakable bond form, just seems like a good pokemon for him! This was probably his first pokemon!

Banette and Darkrai were accidental for sure, Banette's are pokemon with a vengeance and will kill those who wronged them. Darkrai the nightmare pokemon! Seems like it fits the aesthetic of the Punisher.

Straight up I think a Sandile bit him and he couldn't get rid of it lol Krookodile is goofy as hell, he just vibes.

Zebstrika is ill-tempered, but it likes Wolfwood a lot its the equivalent of his motorcycle lol

Deserves a dog as well! And while Mightyena isn't really a wolf, it's close enough.

Meryl: Mareep, Unown, Furret, Pachirisu, Rotom, Bewear

She reminds me of a Mareep I can't explain it lol Probs her first pokemon and can't bring herself to evolve it.

Meryls Bewear will beat the shit out of people, the strongest pokemon on her team it vibes check people lol

Rotom is her camera! Very helpful! She probably picked up Unown from college and felt bad leaving it behind so it just follows her around.

Furret is her comfort pokemon, very soft and huggable, she'd also look so cute with a Pachirisu hanging out on her shoulders.

Roberto: Spinda, Klefki, Polteageist, Toucannon, Fletchling, Persian

He likes to drink found the Spinda outside of a bar and straight up stole it.

Doesnt know how he got Klefki just appeared and he can not get rid of it! Was going to use Polteageist as a flask, turned out to be a pokemon! Who knew? Also can not get rid of it

Fletchling and Persian are actually pokemon he's actually wanted and caught. Fletchling lights his cigarette too lazy to evolve it, Persian is a bitch and is good a threatening people.

Him and Toucannon, have the same vibes. But his Toucannon actually likes to fight and will cut a bitch.

11. If your OC was a superhero, what would they be like? (powers, title, general vibe, etc.)

Korak has incredible punching and kicking powers. I am not feeling creative enough to come up with a super cool name for him.

13. What Pokémon would be on your OC’s team and/or what would be their preferred type?

Korak's team would either be made up entirely of Hitmonchans because I think it would be very funny. He would definitely prefer fighting types simply just because he just gets them. But I think he would also like Toucannon. Also I think he would like the fish ones.

14. If your OC was a Dungeons and Dragons character, what would their class be? And/or: If they were playing D&D, what kind of character might they play? (these aren’t necessarily the same thing)

If Korak was a D&D character, he would probably be a barbarian. If he was playing D&D I think he would have a blast playing a paladin.

29. Gun to their head, what is your OC’s fursona?

After much consideration, I think a rhinoceros or similar type of fursona would appeal to Korak.

What would be on John's Pokemon team? I think Toucannon for sure, and at least one Galarian form.

OP this question required some research on my part, because my Pokemon knowledge is limited to Hoenn and prior plus pieces of Galar. Sorry for the delay!!! It's a really good question.

I do fully agree with you that he'd have a Galarian Pokemon. I'm leaning toward Galarian Meowth, a horrifying terror that he'd probably adore just for its weirdness. (I love old fisherman Meowth myself.) Toucannon is also a good pick and oh my god I love how angry this Pokemon looks in its key art.

This Pokemon is going to goddamn kill you. Amazing.

His starter Pokemon was a Piplup that he's since evolved into an Empoleon. This is entirely on the basis of JO loving penguins. Even if he rationally thought about it, once presented with a penguin, he'd be like "that one".

I also feel like he'd have a Cubone, just for the troll factor of waiting for people to tell him how adorable it is before revealing, as dramatically as possible, that the Cubone is wearing his mother's skull. I can literally see this playing out in my head.

My partner thinks Farfetch'd would be on his team and that Farfetch'd would hit him with its leek for comic relief. I now wish John Oliver, Farfetch'd Trainer was a character of the day on the original Pokemon series (dub voice would have obviously been Eric Stuart. Maybe Andrew Rannells, depending on when PokeJohn showed up).

Some Pokemon Falkner headcanons (which will feature other characters):

He's the youngest of the four Flying-type specialists (himself, Winona, Skyla, and Kahili)-- at around 17 years old. He's also surprisingly the most levelheaded after Kahili, who just seems like a very chill Trainer. Skyla is very much an agent of chaos, and Winona has been known to do bird impressions at 5 AM.

He really admires his dad, who was the former Gym Leader and is currently working as a pilot. And yes, Falkner's dad is still alive. But the way Falkner talks about him, you would guess the opposite.

Falkner: I miss my dad. He was the most amazing man I ever knew.

Dad (flying a hang glider, several meters above): Quit telling everyone I'm dead!

Falkner: Sometimes I can still hear his voice...

He has a younger sister, named Eula. She's around 4 and a half years younger. Since their mom passed away when they were younger and their dad was always busy with work and tending the Gym, Falkner practically raised Eula. As a result, they have a very close sibling bond.

Once every week, he visits Fuschia City so he can have his weekly "argue about whose dad is better" session with Janine. The two of them originally started out as rivals, but now they're best friends. Maybe even a bit more than that....

He's the designated eldest sibling friend to the other Johto kids. This includes Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Silver, Whitney, and Bugsy. He's lost count of how many times he's had to tell Bugsy to cease whacking people with their bug net.

When this didn't work, he got Bugsy a copy of "Pokemon Crossing: New Horizons" so they could whack people to their heart's content. (Note: in my headcanons, Bugsy goes by they/them)

He likes to travel! As a matter of fact, he caught the Swellow he uses in Pokemon Masters during a trip to Hoenn. He also has birds from every other region: Staraptor from Sinnoh, Braviary and Unfezant from Unova, Talonflame from Kalos, Decidueye from Alola, Corviknight from Galar, and Kilowattrel from Paldea.

If an Electric-type Trainer is being a bit too boastful pre- Gym battle, that's when Falkner decides to use Kilowattrel. It's both a Flying-type and an Electric-type, so electric attacks won't knock it out so easily.

If you are role-playing in the pokemon rehabber scene, but supporting irl ""rehabbers"" (read: unethical idiots) like CLAWS Inc and black jaguar white tiger, there is something seriously wrong with you

It is one thing to say your character has a Toucannon. It is another thing to support keeping Toucans as pets. WILD ANIMALS ARE NOT PETS, and yes, that includes foxes, parrots, and macaws.

Granted, this is coming from someone who keeps bugs—mantids, horned dynastids, jumping spiders—that are in fact wild animals. But there is a difference between creating a habitat perfectly suited to that animal and enjoying yourself while observing it, and letting a FOX in the same place as your CATS.

There's also just the issue of size. It's one thing to keep an Orchid mantis, which is like two inches long, in a huge 20-gallon vivarium. It's another thing to try and keep a 20-foot boa or, for fuck's sake, an endangered blue macaw.

Think about farms—Farms are HUGE, and that's for animals that were domesticated over thousands of years. Cows need a minimum of 500 sq ft grazing space, per cow, alone. If you don't have space, you can't justify keeping a wild animal. Period.

Kiawren lore WHERE TO STARTTT.

Ok so in the gen 7 games the player comes to alo.la as some rando tourist invited by prof ku.kui and then they meet lillie and do the island challenge and pkmn league and become the champion of the region

Personally I do not follow that at all cuz alo.la is based off hawaii idk it's a bit iffy how some foreigner just comes and does main character stuff and everybody praises them ahajdkdkl becuz native hawaiians do not encourage tourists to just come...

So my s/i goes to alo.la as part of some conservation programme for academic research and social outreach or something like that, for like 3 months. This detail makes me rlly happy becuz conservation is exactly my irl ambition and it makes my selfshipping have some sense of groundedness aaahhh. And also becuz in alo.la in particular, the bonds between people and the natural world/pkmn are emphasised and it's exactly this love of nature and culture that are like my biggest passions and interests so idk it's just rlly comforting to self insert there and think I can do this sort of thing that I'd love to do irl, even from a non selfship perspective with kia.we

Anyway so a couple days after s/i moves in they meet kia.we at wela volcano park (the site of his trial-which are basically gyms in gen 7) and tries to find a nice place to watch the sunset, not knowing kia.we was the trial captain. They end up talking a bit and kia.we decided to stay with s/i when the sky darkened, becuz apparently coincidentally that day some graveler were like gathering in large numbers and as the trial captain he thought it was better to help s/i navigate their way down without disruption to both parties.

Tbh the first interaction isn't rlly fixed, mainly it's them meeting at wela volcano park is the fixed detail.

So then s/i visits kia.we somewhat regularly from them on and they start crushing on each other. S/i visits him in the evening when his trial captain duties are over and before he was gonna head down the volcano for his night job at a supermarket (canon that he has a job) (but I made up this schedule cuz funnily you can also find him at the top of the volcano at night)

They start doing that super regularly, and then kia.we gets laid off from this job that he was working to save up to study traditional dance abroad.

So even though its quite upsetting (and like truly... I feel rlly sad for him😭), they have more time to spend with each other at night!!! They end up talking till late at the volcano and at some point wren also visits kia.we's house and stays over, or they go on dates around alo.la. I think trial captains should have some free days so they also go on dates then :)

They both talk about their ambitions and ideals especially cuz when you talk to this npc about battle styles (the throwing the Pokeball) you want your character to have, when you choose Reverent style, he hints this. Basically you have to battle kia.we in sun and mall.ow in moon to get this style.

And I love this detail so much becuz they outright say kia.we is a romanticist... He has dreams he holds on to... And like me too you know... So at some point I think they sit and talk about their dreams and passions. Cuz like I really want someone to talk to about mine 😭

Another cool thing is Aether foundation conducts conservation and research so my s/i can be helping them with research and outreach

The president of Aether foundation is Lusa.mine, Lillie's mother (my s/i is also friends with lillie), who in the games is obsessed with finding ultra beasts and becomes corrupted by one, basically the villian of the game (im not very sure about USUM, I haven't played those)

So being in collaboration with the Aether foundation, my s/i might find out and get involved in this plot too, just not in the main character way the MC does hahaha

Also, s/i has to go back to their home region (idk where) after their programme, and in the main lore he and kia.we end up in the same university together somewhere (I think s/i's home region), while in some AUs they don't see each other again for years Hahaha
