charles and cecil is a very fun idea! i think it's especially fun considering that cecil is basically huntokar's special little guy but cecil just does not really care about this at all. cecil's connection to his god is pretty different than kevin's, but i think that it could create a really unique dynamic between the two.
yeah! I think Charles would maybe piece together that with the double thing, Cecil's gonna have some god connection, even if he doesn't learn that from Cecil or anyone else in nv, and that Cecil might take more interest in Charles wanting to learn more about his connection to Huntokar than his connection to Huntokar itself, or in an au where Charles knows Cecil but not Kevin/goes to Night Vale instead of db/wtvr, that being an unexpected surprise to discover when his intentions in the town had less to do with work than with him going to db

what draws charles and cecil to each other?
three million years late answers this. while I think part of what drew Carlos and Cecil together was their passion for their work, for Charles and Cecil its their passion for their family. they're both very family oriented people and are very endeared by that trait in the other. I also think Charles is fascinated by Night Vale religion (both as in stuff with bloodstone and/or Huntokar and as in the specific way other religions are done in Night Vale) and Cecil's more than happy to talk about his towns culture

huh thinking about it I have come up with a handful of ship names
#i still get a little :0 when I see people i havent talked to say radioscientology#me when i impact people outside my immediate circle: rdj he is#joyousposting#i dont think others are that significant to not just be common sense like with charlos and charlecil. well no mallardinal but i dont see#ppl outside my circle shipping mallardinal lol#i guess laurbelles kind of different because its a first/last name combo but its the simplest nicest sounding one

one scenario possible is charles going to nightvale to study the glow cloud/brown stone spire in the coincidental time carlos leaves for uhhhh pine cliffs for science n cecil has a moment of "oh!! you didn't leave yay!" n awkward shenanigans
gosh instead of how ppl have imagined cecil reacting to charles (yknow, "oh imperfect carlos, he seems neat tho b he's also w kevin yikes, etc") he does just go "TWO Carloses??? count me in"
