Rewatching season 5 of Downton and noticed this during the scene where the cop comes to speak to Mr. Carson

Thomas announces him, Carson rolls his eyes at Thomas' "scare mongering" but look at Mrs. Hughes.

She smirks at Thomas. At least someone can sometimes recognize when Thomas is trying to joke around.

Thomas may be a misunderstood and conniving child, but he's Mrs. Hughes' misunderstood and conniving child!
