I saw you like well-developed, researched, authentic sapphic historical fiction (such as A League Of Their Own) and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president in 1945 and her secret interracial sapphic relationship and her bearded marriage with her mlm best friend/biggest foil. It also has a subplot about arson at the White House, ft. an entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters, and has a really satisfying ending!

i have never heard of this novel before, but it sounds so GOOD. thank your for the recommendation, i put it on my tbr list. you literally described my taste perfectly, i love history, especially queer history!

i also recommend you Eldorado: Everything the Nazis Hate (2023). it’s on netflix and it’s a documentary about some of the people that frequented the gay cabaret bar in Berlin before World War II. there are many stories (especially trans) including a sapphic one about lisa von dobeneck who was married with gottfried von cramm who had an affair with manasse herbst. the documentary shows their relationship dynamic which is very interesting. or the relationship between charlotte charlaque and toni ebel, two beautiful trans women who helped each other during their transitions and the war. it’s very beautiful and authentic.
