RULES - Eternal Rivals Creator Challenge

Below are the rules/guidelines for our challenge. Please reach out to team captains (@jvnart or @ficklecat) or send us an ask here if you have any questions that are not covered here!

ABSOLUTELY NO ABUSE, BULLYING, TROLLING, OR ANY OTHER SORT OF TOXIC BEHAVIOR WILL BE TOLERATED - this is a friendly competition with no end-game other than encouraging our community to create and have fun. Insulting or disparaging other creators in any way (including inciting discourse on or about their posts/fanworks) will result in disqualification, and depending on severity, a ban from the community.

NO REPOSTED ART - any writing or drawing used for this competition MUST be newly created, and MUST be your own; no AI creations will be counted or accepted, and any art that is reposted or stolen will result in disqualification and a ban from the community.

ADDITIONAL KKG COMMUNITY GUIDELINES APPLY - that means sensitive content must be tagged appropriately, and no incest, student/teacher, adult/child shipping will be permitted. NSFW fanworks are allowed but must also be tagged appropriately.

MUST BE KAKAGAI RELATED - other ships or characters can appear in your works, but the focus must be KakaGai. This does NOT have to be limited by your assigned team - ie, you can write Gai POV if you are on Team Kakashi, etc.

NO LATE SUBMISSIONS - unlike our other events, this challenge will not count late submissions - and yes, this applies to us procrastinating mods! All fanworks must be posted and tagged by midnight on the last day of the challenge (Monday, June 2nd).

PROMPTS CANNOT REPEAT - while you can choose any prompt you want each day, you cannot repeat prompts for your submissions; each work must be associated with only one prompt at a time, and cannot have more than one fan work for the challenge attributed to it.

BONUS PROMPTS - points for same-day bonus prompts will only be counted if the work is posted within 24 hours of the prompt announcement (Tumblr post must be time-stamped accordingly). You may complete a regular prompt on the same day you complete a bonus prompt if you wish (or if you're insane).

POINT SYSTEM - we will not be debating or accepting challenge of the point system - this is strictly for fun, the points really don't matter, please do not take this so seriously.

TEAM ASSIGNMENT - the teams are assigned randomly, and are essentially arbitrary, you cannot change teams or request a specific team. Again, teams are RANDOM, you cannot choose your team no matter how much you love Gai or Kakashi (don't worry, we know you have a favorite, we won't tell ;))

CHALLENGE WITHDRAWAL - if you wish for your work to be withdrawn from the challenge for whatever reason, please DM one of the team captains. Withdrawing your work will not result in your team losing the points contributed, but we will remove it from this blog. It is up to you to remove your own posts from Tumblr or untag the post thereafter.

Update after like 2 years

Hello!!! It's been a while since I so much as looked at this blog, I know, but I never forgot about it, I promise! Even though it's been collecting dust all this time, I want to update those still interested in the project; and if you are still interested, I definitely think you'll be pleased!

I always wanted to come back to these guys when I had my work more organized, was able to do things quickly at a quality I was satisfied with, and overall just improve upon the story. I barely scratched the surface when it came to the story I meant to tell, and while I can't promise that we'll for sure see the end of it, I am excited to say that it's coming back!!! I wanted to make a post to announce this while I reconstruct the blog's layout, redo the pinned post, and a few other miscellaneous things here and there.

I've been tinkering a lot with my timeline over the years and decided it best if I just start totally new. I'll keep the old posts up for archival purposes, but everything is being redone; the intro, the set up for the prologue, art direction, etc.

Another thing that will be different is the "askblog" portion of this story. While ask blog elements remain, I will be telling a very linear story that wont be dependant on asks at all. It's more of a webcomic with occasional breaks in the plot for asks as flavor text during downtime. I created a backlog of content way in advance before even posting this announcement, and I plan on updating the comic itself on a schedule, while asks and such will be posted more loosely depending on when I draw them. I'm not exactly sure on when I'll post the intro, but you can expect it to be within a few days of this post if nothing comes up to deter me!

TL;DR - The blog is coming back in the form of a comic with occasional askblog elements! I'll spend a a few days redecorating the blog itself before we begin completely anew!

Also, I'll keep asks open while I redecorate in case there's any questions or messages anyone would want to share regarding things.

With all that said, it's good to be back working on this again, and I'll see you all on the flipside! Thank you for reading. - Mod Shark

sorry to continue lpspop posting but that reblog got me really thinking "wow. all these characters do kinda suck," angelina in particular kinda stood out to me, because early on in savannah's rise to popularity, angelina was kinda depicted as 'the good one' while genny and savvy bathed in their newfound popularity, when in actuality angelina was the one who pushed savannah to overthrow brooke simply because she's good looking, and then she gets upset when savannah and genny don't acknowledge her due to them being busy with boys

that's not me saying lina's anger isn't valid, especially since at first genny and savvy didn't try to include lina in their activities. it took until the night of (or before?) brooke's party for savannah to apologize, which is good on her part, but still ??? i dunno

what i'm trying to say is that angelina isn't exactly a saint 😭 neither is genny, since they the ones to pitch the idea of a rivalry with brooke to savannah. idk i'm just rambling here.

New Fighting Ring Opens in Watchmaker’s Hill

A fighting ring of a different kind has opened in Watchmaker’s Hill, run not by Feducci, but by @bizarrebazaar13. Players of Fallen London can submit their favorite NPCs to go head to head in a series of polls.

There are many, many characters to choose from, so the host asks that Londoners limit themselves to NPCs from Fallen London only. The size of the bracket is determined by the amount of submissions, although not every submitted character is guaranteed entry.

Players may also submit their own art to be used, with credit, for one or multiple characters. This does not automatically guarantee that their art will be used, especially if multiple people submit art for the same character. They may not submit another person’s art.

There is space on the entry form for players to list as many characters as they like, but they are always welcome to fill the form out more than once, as it does not collect email addresses or limit responses.

The submission form is open until September 30, and the bracket will be announced shortly thereafter. It can be accessed here.
