Movie Review: Chevalier (Hulu)

Sooo I watched Chevalier (Hulu) last night & wow mind blown - all the inspiration. Chevalier is another buried black creative genius & the first recorded black classical composer. They called him 'The Black Mozart'. He hung out with Queen Marie Antonette and preformed at the French Opera and within her court before the French Revolution. When the revolutionary arrived & stood up against opps and it cost him his art/name. His work is now being rediscovered. This film was so beautiful and eye opening.

This morning I am sitting in the garden and listening to his beautiful, MOVING, & uplifting light work. I’ve honestly never heard classical music like his. It’s no wonder they bury us black artists. He has zero competition. Tap in:

Here’s an important announcement. Due to my back pain and the medical exams that I have to undergo in the following days, I’m going to have to reschedule the reviews for Thursday.

My back is making routine things like sitting in class very painful so I need to prioritize, even though I do want to keep posting reviews.

i really HATE when historical movies set in western europe have characters who aren’t english and they still have british accents. i was watching chevalier and tell me why mozart had a BRITISH accent when he’s GERMAN. i wanted to see mozart with a thick german accent dammit

Hey, everyone! So, I kinda fell off the grid a bit because I’ve been having trouble with pain in my lower back lately. I thought it was a pulled muscle, but looks like it’s a pinched spinal disc in my lower spine (above the butt), so tomorrow I’m going to a specialist to figure out how to treat it.

(Yeah, spine has been an issue for me ever since I was born with spina bifida…)

Also I’m seeing a nutritionist this week too because antidepressants have influenced my weight and I’m struggling to shed it now…
