hello followers (all 7 of you), i just need to tell yall about the coolest lady i know

she's a friend of my parents from a church i grew up in and therefore a friend of mine and she was a core part of the group of adults who made sure my sisters and i grew up to be a little weird

works at the history museum

has never married or had kids (at one point she had a boyfriend who her friend group deemed a loser but didn't say anything to her bc he made her happy) (this was very helpful for combating the mindset of girls must get married and produce children in order to be good at being a girl)

has had really short hair for as long as i've known her (which is a very long time) that she dyed bright blue one time (after going grey, she figured if she doesn't have to bleach it, why not?)

knows how to knit and crochet (one time over a decade ago she knit a dress onto one of our barbies that was just sitting around and that barbie is still wearing her (lowkey cunty) knitted turtleneck dress)

is only allergic to groundhogs (has never encountered a groundhog in her life and still doesn't know why that was included on her standard allergy panel)

is a big believer in "never stop learning" (currently learning to weave)

used to collect plastic lizards on her dashboard and whenever a child would bring her a lizard to display they got to name it

runs summer workshops at the history museum for kids to get more interested in history

has really in-depth opinions on obscure things that you wouldn't think someone had an opinion on but once you learn she has an opinion on it it makes perfect sense for her to have an opinion on it (and her opinions are really interesting) (her opinions on nancy drew are actually really cool)

knows a lot about the history of barbie

makes a lot of her clothes

can answer basically any crafting question you have, and if she can't fully answer it, she knows someone who can

is a great conversationalist

has incredible stories

was happy to become pen pals with my cousin who likes knitting (i introduced them at my wedding)

knits things for children if asked (she used to come over to our house to do laundry when i was a kid and always seemed to be working on something for her godchildren)

insists on only ever having a vintage mechanical sewing machine that she's learning to fix herself bc apparently repair places are slowly stopping working on non-digital ones (you'd think mechanical ones would be easier to fix than digital), and

Catherine Bach was born on March 1, 1954. She is an American actress. She is known for playing Daisy Duke in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard and Margo Dutton in African Skies. In 2012, she joined the cast of the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless as Anita Lawson.

Bach's professional debut was as one of the children in a production of The Sound of Music. Bach's first screen appearance was in the Burt Lancaster murder mystery, The Midnight Man, shot in upstate South Carolina in 1973, in which she played the murdered coed, Natalie Claiburn. Her next role was Melody in the 1974 film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.

Bach heard about the audition for The Dukes of Hazzard through her husband. When she arrived there, she found the producers were looking for a Dolly Parton-lookalike; despite not looking like what they were searching for, she was hired on the spot. One of the earliest costume ideas from the producers was that she wear a tight white turtleneck, go-go boots and a poodle skirt, but Bach asked if she could bring her own outfit, which was a homemade T-shirt, a pair of cut-off denim shorts and high heels. Bach had concerns about the appropriateness of the cut-off shorts at first, saying she could not wear them in a restaurant scene. When prompted by the producers to visit a restaurant across the street, Bach found the waitresses were wearing "little miniskirts that matched the tablecloths!". She starred on that show, opposite Tom Wopat, John Schneider and James Best.

At the suggestion of the show's producers, Bach posed as Daisy Duke for a poster, which sold 5 million copies. The poster once caused a stir when Nancy Reagan took a liking to it after Bach visited the White House with one as a gift for one of her former schoolteachers then working there.

While she was starring on The Dukes of Hazzard, her legs were insured for $1,000,000. In 1985, she served as the model for the figurehead for the schooner Californian.

After the series ended, Bach had roles in a number of low-profile films. From 1992 to 1994, she starred in the Canadian family drama series, African Skies. In 2006, she guest-starred on Monk, and in 2010 had a small cameo in the comedy film You Again. In 2012, Bach joined the cast of CBS daytime soap opera, The Young and the Restless in the recurring role of Anita Lawson.

In 2002, Bach launched a line of diamond jewelry at Debenhams.

From the gun gray expanse of the asphalt parking lot, Ulrick and Sett looked on to a dozen rows of eggshell canopies, the vibrant, succulent wares therein contained, and a no-less-vibrant throng of bright, friendly faces, with all the burbling anticipation of a Roman century preparing to march into hopeless battle. 

“Grrrurrr. <We don’t have to do this, you know,>” said Sett, giving Ulrick his approximation of a gentle slap on the back, but one that still managed to rob him of his balance. “ GgrrrRrrr. <I don’t mind going to supermarkets on the other side of town fifteen minutes before they close to avoid people.> Rrrrr. <It’s romantic.>”

Sett’s taut, sparse skin didn’t allow him the greatest range of expressive nuance, but Ulrick suspected it was less romantic than he was letting on. 

“No, this is happening,” Ulrick said, regaining his stance and casually brushing off his shorts. “I mean, this farmers’ market is still on the other side of town, but it’s daytime. Baby steps.” He took Sett’s hands in his own and brought them to his lips before his lowering them again. 

“Just... y’know...” he started. “Keep a low profile.” 

Sett nodded, adjusted the baby blue bandanna wrapped around his neck until it covered everything but his eyes, pulled his turtleneck’s sleeves to his wrists, and then shot Ulrick a thumbs up. 

Their first step past the threshold hit them like a wave with the overwhelming impression that they were shopping well outside their tax bracket. Surprisingly, weird, macabre magicians and the undead dudes they make out with weren’t in high demand for gainful employment opportunities. 

Hemp totes, straw hats with wide, floppy brims, oxford button-downs, and ethereal sundresses surrounded them on every side, like they’d stumbled onto the photo shoot for a summer catalog and would be promptly escorted out. Ulrick almost wished they would escort him out. He felt out of place, and not just because buying more than two cucumbers could bankrupt them. What if they were discovered? 

This had admittedly been a constant concern of Ulrick’s when venturing out into public with Sett, and the background of judgmental yuppies couldn’t help. But this was important. 

He felt a tap on his shoulder and halted his thought train to look up and see the vaguely worried scrunch of Sett’s eyebrows. “You alright?” Sett signed. 

Ulrick smiled and tucked his arm around Sett’s. “Peachy,” he said. “Now, let’s get to window shopping.”

“Yeah,” Sett signed, alongside a low, hoarse chuckle. “We can’t afford any of this.”  

The two weaved their way through row after row of white-capped stalls, packed high with produce so ripe and symmetrically sublime, Eden’s gardener would want tips. Occasionally, Ulrick would gravitate toward a vendor and inspect a pepper or gourd or rutabaga, excitedly detailing their properties and functionalities in the art of necromancy, and how banging they taste in stew. Sett, past the “eating” stage of his nonlife, was nonetheless entranced with Ulrick’s passion.

But then the first scream came, and they knew it was time to relocate.

There were far more strollers than one might expect in any venue that wasn’t a daycare, and children invariably screamed their faces purple when confronted with Sett, zombie-visage covered or not, so they spent the day bouncing around like pinballs every time they ran into a scream-flipper.

This was, perhaps, more fun than it should have been; made even more fun in their lightning round when Sett would slingshot from stroller to stroller, leaving a banshee shriek of wailing infants in his wake.

Satisfied with the day’s torment, they situated themselves at a stand parallel to the entrance, giving them a clear view of the area with the highest foot traffic.

“What about him?” Ulrick said, pointing to a fellow in a navy blue cardigan, his blond crest of hair frozen in place with holding gel.

“Hmm. Pass. I don’t want to eat the brain that thought that was a good look,” signed Sett.

“Alright, what about her?” Ulrick asked. She had long brunette hair, a pair of dirt-caked overalls, and a carrot-filled wicker basket held to one hip.

“Pass,” Sett signed.

“What? Why?” said Ulrick.

“She looks like she enjoys gardening. I hate gardening.”

“Jeez, you’re a picky eater. Uh...” Ulrick purveyed the area. “How about her?” He gestured to a well-dressed woman standing at a stall and violently shaking cantaloupes, with two toddlers standing nearby on a leash.

Sett used his hand as a visor to get a better look. “Oh, snack,” he signed. “Someone’s gotta free those kids.”

Ulrick stopped giggling long enough to search for another person, pausing at a muscular man in a gray, fitted tee, with his hair thrown into a messy bun. “Okay, him. What about him?”

“Meh. Pass,” Sett signed, seeming to barely acknowledge the farmers’ market Adonis.

“Oh, come on. Really? You’re gonna pass on that?”

“Eh, just not my type, really.”

“Not your type!” Ulrick repeated. “I’ve seen you eat literal roadkill!”

“And yet you still kiss me. So, who’s the weird one here?”

“It’s still you, my guy.”

Sett scoffed. “If you like him so much, why don’t you eat him?” he signed.

His disbelief teetered from amusement to annoyance.

"I would totally eat him!" Ulrick shouted, a bit more intensely than he'd expected. 

Without Ulrick noticing, the farmers' market had gone ghost town quiet. His eyes flitted around to all of the bemused faces, the manbun he’d been hypothetically sautéing included, and then quickly to Sett for moral support, but found him hunched over a stall, studiously comparing the firmness of two tomatoes. "Uh..." Ulrick sputtered to a disconcerted, now mumbling smattering of onlookers. "You know, like... in a sex way?" After a moment, the ambiance shifted with a chorus of 'ah's and a lone 'still gross.' Farmers' market commotion shortly resumed as if the topic of cannibalism had never been on the forum floor. He had to regroup before his questioning glare could have its intended withering effect. Sett simply shrugged and signed, "You told me to keep a low profile." Ulrick paused and then tried in vain not to snicker. "Oh, drop dead," he said, rolling his eyes.

BACKSTORY AND TALENT

Myth’s motivation for becoming a pro sprinter was a pretty simple reason. As the daughter of two accomplished marathon runners, running was practically in Myth’s blood, ever since she learned how to walk. Myth was regarded as a prodigy amongst the crowds, for her innate stamina and her skill at running. In fact, Myth is currently planning on running in the Olympics, after graduating Hope’s Peak and chaperoning the Ultimates and Jr. Ultimates. Extra Fact: Let’s just say that all that running caused Myth to become quite the looker, for she became famous around her school for her looks, charming the pants off both girls and boys. In fact, people sell candid pictures of a hot and sweaty Myth all around the school for money, only to get stopped by Myth’s overly protective childhood friend. All while Myth remains completely oblivious to that.

RELATIONSHIPS

Wyre Anon, Former Ultimate Emergency Planner

Despite her reckless, headstrong and almost delinquent-like behavior, Wyre is praised amongst her peer group for being prepared for any situation, whether environmental or medical. As the childhood friend of the simpleminded and scatterbrained Myth, Wyre is always one step behind her, making sure that Myth doesn’t get herself into any harm. Wyre is basically the Akaashi to Myth‘s Bokuto. Wyre also scares off people from Myth’s school who want to take candid pictures of a sweaty and undressing Myth and sell them for money in the school’s unofficial underground market, much to the confusion of the ditzy track star. Outfit: A construction hat on her head, a dark grey sleeveless parka over a red button-up shirt, a tool belt with a care kit for everybody and every occasion, blue jeans, brown steel toed boots and matching gloves, intact glasses.

Anon Scar, Ultimate Sharpshooter

Claiming to be cursed by an ancient parasitic spirit that inserted itself into her left eye, Anon Scar was nicknamed by the people of the shooting range she frequents as “Black Bullseye”, which obviously came from the skill she shows when she is in the booths of said shooting range. Acting like an old and grizzled war veteran and constantly speaking of “The Old War”, needless to say, Myth bought into Scar‘s chuuni act, much to the embarrassment of the sharpshooter. As Myth eventually figured out, Scar acts a lot like a mother to the more reckless and childish members of the Kibo-Con roster, but Myth especially.    Outfit: An black eyepatch on her left eye and a green military-esque uniform with black gloves and boots.

Fusion Anon, Ultimate Gardener

Fusion made worldwide news thanks to the large grove of fruit trees and bushes that he managed to cultivate all by himself, which was a massive turnaround from the dry and sparse farmland that his grandparents abandoned. Fusion views the trees and plants that he grew almost like his children, and he applies the same philosophy to his conmates, much like Scar. It could be said that Fusion basically adopted Myth, along with the rest of the con. If Myth ever gets hungry while on a run, Fusion is always right by her side with some fresh and delicious fruit on hand. Myth regularly likes to go for nature runs through Fusion’s giant garden.

Outfit: A red turtleneck sweater, blue overalls, green rainboots and gloves, a blue bandana around his neck with small yellow sunflowers all over, flowers in his large afro, glasses from original design.

Fusion Anon II, Ultimate Finder

Being famed around her school for her cool and rebellious attitude and her ability to find objects that her schoolmates lost, she was nicknamed “Sherlock Jr.” by her peers. Eventually, Fusion II started her own business, helping the citizens of her hometown find lost objects and even pets and children. But much to Fusion II’s dismay, her cool facade is constantly undermined by her nerdy side and her love for memes. Because Myth loses things all the time, Myth regularly and tearfully turns to Fusion II to help find them. And with the finding of the lost items, came praise from Myth and an ego boost for Fusion II.

Outfit: A dark blue fedora that casts shade over her eyes, a matching trench coat over a long white dress and black heeled boots.

Just Anon, Ultimate Screenwriter

If you were alive in show business, than you should know the name of Just Anon, known for producing only the greatest in screenplays of TV shows and movies. That is, if he ever gets into a creative mood, in which last-minute panic seem to be the only thing able to perk him up. In layman’s terms, he‘s a chronic procrastinator, despite being an entertainment king. Janon’s lazy attitude, despite his massive potential to succeed, warrants a potential punch in the face from Myth, and she wants to get to the root of the true personality beneath that demonic hoodie. Hopefully, Myth would never find out about Janon’s soft spot for kids.

Outfit: A black face mask with a crooked smile on the front, a hoodie that resembles a cartoon devil, underneath the same formal wear from his original design.

Sparkle Anon, Former Ultimate Linguist

As the wealthy daughter of two ambassadors, Sparkle has been exposed to foreign tongues and dialects, ever since she was little, and still finds foreign languages fascinating, often watching stage plays from other countries to learn more about their native tongues. Myth always found Sparkle’s skill in foriegn languages to be fascinating, and Sparkle finds Myth’s athletic skills (and her bodacious body, particularly her strong and athletic legs) to be equally stunning. Unfortunately, Wyre wasn’t about to let Myth be gawked at by the eyes of the flashy and dramatic linguist, and tries to thwart the devious plans of Sparkle. 

Outfit: Same outfit from her original design, but with the Rubik’s Cube skirt replace with a blue skirt that has several languages printed on it.

Egg Anon, Former Ultimate Confidant, and Wet Sock Anon, Former Ultimate Volleyball Player

Famous for running a blog that allows people from all around the world to vent their secrets to them, known as “What’s Crackin’”, Egg Anon seems to be way more reliable online compared to real life, where they sprout off cursed comments, alongside their equally cursed twin, famous volleyball star Wet Sock Anon. Myth seems to be the only person in the con who actually finds the cursed comments that the Freak Twins spout funny, often laughing when other Anons are staring in disgust. Myth, ever the open book, loves to vent to Egg, and Myth is happy to find that the famous volleyball star themselves is chaperoning the con trip alongside her.

Egg’s Outfit: A green hoodie over a yellow t-shirt and matching yellow hair clips, glasses, pants and shoes from original design.

Wet Sock’s Outfit: A black and white volleyball uniform, white socks, black volleyball shoes, hair tied back into a small ponytail, glasses from original design.

Curious Anon, Jr. Ultimate Tattoo Artist

Despite their yakuza connections and heavily tattooed arms, Curious wouldn’t hurt a fly (except if someone ordered them to) and takes all the stigma they face for their tattoos and connections with a smile on their face. After their family’s yakuza business went belly-up, Curious’s family decided to earn money the clean way, and opened up a tattoo parlour. Curious proved themselves to be a master at tattoo art and garnered popularity. Myth always wanted a tattoo on her arm, and asked Curious to give her cool lightning bolts on her left arm. Myth quickly bolted away, never to return, when she saw Curious holding a needle.

Anon Nerd, Former Ultimate Carpenter

Famous for using his trademark goggles to burn patterns into wood and his masterful craftsmanship when it comes to creating wooden structures, it was no wonder that Nerd earned the title of Ultimate Carpenter. Nerd is also famous for his uncontrollable temper and rage issues, if he were to be interrupted, and the horrible burns that the poor shmuck who interrupted Nerd winds up getting. Unfortunately for Myth, she constantly interrupts Nerd in the middle of work, and has to suffer burns that have to be cared for by Wyre in the process. This means that Nerd and Wyre are mortal enemies, much to the dismay of the track star.

Outfit: Red-tinted goggles, a red flannel shirt with rolled up sleeves, brown gloves, tool belt, and shoes, blue jeans.

Eldritch Anon, Ultimate Surfer

Born on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean, Eldritch dominated all of the surfing competitions in both his area and foreign areas, garnering fame around his island as having an innate ability to find the biggest and most impressive waves in the deep and blue ocean. Unfortunately, being born on an isolated island doesn’t exactly translate into great social skills and trust in others, for he shows a hostile distrust in just about everybody, believing that they have harmful magical powers intent on harming him. This upsets Myth, because she genuinely wants to bond with a fellow jock, but Eldritch just continues to push Myth away.    

Outfit: Camo-hoodie from original design with nothing underneath, shorts from original design, seafoam flip flops, long hair in a ponytail.

Dream Anon, Ultimate Hiker

Famous for hiking long distances, no matter the terrain or weather, Dream Anon broke many world records in her trekking endeavors. Dream has a great love for nature and landscapes, and lives for the thrill of visiting new and obscure locales. Out of all of the Kibo-Con participants, Dream is the most similar to Myth personality-wise, and thus, Dream and Myth get along the best. Both of them bonded over their sporty personalities and their love for exploring new locales. Dream instantly realized she‘d be good friends with Myth, when Myth cleared Dream’s hiking spots in record speed, and now, they have hiking races together. 

Outfit: Black sunglasses, a heavy pink and grey jacket, a large backpack, black shorts, brown boots.

Iris Anon, Jr. Ultimate Tree Climber

Just like how Myth was good at running ever since she learned how to walk, Iris has been good at climbing things, ever since she was a baby. Despite being clumsy and uncoordinated when on the ground, when it comes to climbing trees, she’s a master, to the point that Hope’s Peak Middle School christened her with the title of “Jr. Ultimate Tree Climber”. Along with the innate ability to climb trees very well, Iris also is very knowledgeable when it comes to trees. Just like with Dream, Iris and Myth get along very well, thanks to their similar personalities, and they love experimenting with each other’s talents for the day.

Outfit: Same outfit from her original design, but with a tree motif in her design.

Purple Anon, Ultimate Lip Reader

Despite being born deaf, the timid yet determined Purple wouldn’t let her handicap stop her from communicating with others. On the side, Purple hosts lip-reading seminars for the deaf and is famed for her polite and wise nature. Off of the seminar grounds though, Purple is far more timid, but can still understand what others are saying, thanks to her expertise in lip reading. Myth may not really know what it‘s like to be deaf, but Myth would try her best to support the timid lip-reader regardless, even if Purple’s loquacious and old-fashioned vocabulary just confuses Myth, and she needs the smarter Anons to translate for her.  Outfit: Same outfit from the original, but without the beret and purple hearing aids.

This series would center around a simple-minded yet supportive sprinter getting babied and protected from her obsessive fanclub by the other Anons, Bokuto-style, much to the sprinter’s confusion!

PERSONALITY 

The best way to describe Sprinter!Myth’s personality would be a female version of Bokuto from Haikyuu. Simple-minded, childish, and easily-impressed, Sprinter!Myth is what the modern generation would call a “her-mbo”. But as much of a simpleton as she is, she’s still really determined and steadfast, as well as kind and supportive towards her friends. Unlike Romantic!Myth, Sprinter!Myth is utterly dense to anything relating to attraction or romance, extending to her fanclub at her school.

Sprinter!Myth has natural brown hair in a lightning bolt-shaped ponytail and an ahoge to match, contact lenses that she always forgets to put in, a headband colored like the bisexual flag, a bandage on her right cheek, a blue track jacket with white stripes over a white shirt with a “#6” on the front, red athletic shorts with white stripes and drawstrings, long white socks, and red and white running shoes.

Chapter 44: Facing the Consequences

You awoke with pressure behind your ear. As you become more conscious you realized Kylo was leaving a love mark behind it, for whatever reason. “Ah, Kitten is awake. Good, I need to go to training.” He got up from behind you before pulling you up to do the same.

It was just as early as the other morning you had watched him train. You weren’t coherent enough for this, but he had said that he was going to keep an eye on you so that is what he intended on doing. You were a kitten on a leash or a songbird in a cage. You were attached to his hip.

You got up and got ready this time putting on a turtleneck and trousers in an attempt to hide his love marks. You did a subtle amount of makeup in an attempt to draw attention to your face and not the dark bruise behind your ear. When you came out of the bathroom Kylo hooked a finger in your collar while his lips grazed your cheek before whispering in your ear, “I know exactly what you are doing Kitten.” His finger then widens the opening of your neck while his lips dipped down to make one of your marks darker. His other hand came to squeeze your ass, “Mmm Kitten there is no time to play.”

He was telling you there was no time to play? He was the one obsessed with playing with you, you wanted to be left alone. He was the horny one, your spark mostly ignited when he kissed you or touch you in certain ways. Your body often betraying your brain.

Like the last time, you and he were to have breakfast after training. You were greeted by the lieutenant as usual. You all made your way to the room, the only real difference this time was the presence of Captain Phasma. You joined her and Hux on the outside of the circle. Phasma moved so they were now on either side of you.

Kylo and the knights proceeded to spar. He routinely glanced in your direction, you couldn’t tell if it was because he needed to make sure you were there or if it was because he was looking for something else. You made the conscious decision to ignore him.  

The lieutenant produced a cup of stimcaf for you without you having to ask. That man needed a pay raise, you thought as you brought the just right temp liquid to your lips.

You were the first to speak in your little group, “I have been tasked to choose a lady in waiting. And I have no idea how to do it.”

You watched the general who contemplated your predicament, but it was Phasma who spoke up first. “The girl from the shopping center. She seemed to be knowledgable enough about what you would need.”

Before you could respond the Hux asked, “what was her name?”

“Olivia-Rose Gordon,” responded Lieutenant Mitaka.

This caused Hux to look up something on his data pad, “She is 27, unmarried, matchless, no children, a clean record. She would be a good candidate.”

Your head was spinning. “I can’t just ask her to be my lady in waiting.”

“Why not,” asked Phasma.

“Because she might feel pressured to accept and then she will be trapped in space far from home,” the weight of your words not fully hitting you yet.

“I assure you m’lady she will not be trapped. She will be given one of the most prestigious positions in the galaxy. She will be able to travel with you and given many luxuries your planet cannot offer her.”

Your mind was frozen. You knew she would be trapped with you if you were to ask her, would it even be fair? Before you could respond Phasma spoke once more, “she seemed taken with you m’lady, and she seemed interested in the opportunity to travel, she asked about it during her registration.”

“Send someone out of uniform to ask her, I don’t want her to be pressured into it. If she says no, we will need to respect that.”

“As you wish m’lady,” responded the general who then seemed to type out the order on his data pad.

You then just all seem to watch the training, your mind drifted back to the horrifying thought that you will no longer be able to be home in a matter of minutes. That small rational part of your brain kept telling you that you will still be in the solar system for a few days. That you will still be home in a sense.

Your mind then drifted to all the memories you didn’t get to make, all of the Friday nights going out to the bars with Carter and Hayden, all of the birthdays with your nieces and nephews, all of the holidays back at your parents’ place. You had no idea when you would become empress so you had no idea when you would be able to come back, if at all.

If Kylo was any other man you could simply reason with him to end any sort of romantic relationship, and just be platonic matches. You could then be free, and not caged like you are now, but he wasn’t any other man, and your heart wouldn’t be able to take it. You had to face the fact that you loved him, as twisted as he was becoming you did love him.

Another thought drifted into your mind, who would he choose? You were allowed to pick one of your ladies-in-waiting but who would he choose? Did he already know her? Did you already know her? Come to think of it you had yet to ask the general what happened while you were gone. How did Kylo react?

“Tell me general, how did he react to my departure?”

“I was able to have the damage done to your chambers repaired before we returned, but just barely. There are still several communications terminals that need repairs, an entire squadron of ‘troopers are still recovering in the medical bay, as is that female officer,” his voice trailed off.

“Oh, no what did he do to her,” you ask.

“It wasn’t pleasant, to say the least, she has a broken clavicle, a fractured sternum, several cracked ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and broken femur.”

“Why did he do it,” you were concerned you had rather liked her.

“Several reasons apparently, in his eyes she failed to report that you were leaving, both the lieutenant and I had orders from you one way or another as to not tell him, she did not. She had taken a few pieces of jewelry while you were packing, and she has had a not so subtle infatuation with the Supreme Leader. This is not uncommon among some of the younger female officers. Especially if they have had the chance to see him without his helmet.”  

“Even if she did do all that she didn’t deserve to be beaten like that.”

“I say she got off better than execution,” replied Phasma. “She also attempted to seduce him once he cornered her.”

You felt as if you were not talking about the same sweet girl that helped you pack. “But she should have been demoted and reassigned, not have the crap beaten out of her.”

“I would have executed her,” commented Phasma.

You looked at her.

“What? It’s what I would have done,” she reasoned. Even through her helmet, you could hear that she was honestly telling the truth.

“I still feel bad, maybe I should go and apologize to her.”

“I don’t think that would be a wise decision m’lady. I also do not believe the Supreme Leader would allow it,” said Hux.

You frowned. Of course, he wouldn’t, but then again he would probably want to escort you so maybe it was for the best, not having him near her.

Kylo and the knights were wrapping up training, all of the high ranking officers done giving him their morning debriefings. Soon you would be at his will once more, following him wherever he pleased. He took your arm in his and took you back to your chambers.

You both ate breakfast before he got ready for the day, while he was in the shower Trudgen and Kuruk were waiting with you along with the lieutenant. You felt as if this was to tell you there would be no running away while he was busy. Once ready he informed you that he had one last meeting at the White House, to set up General Parnadee as the Commander of Earth.

You went about down the halls to the hangar where you were greeted by the large entourage of Hux, Parnadee, Phasma, Pyre and an escort of ‘troopers. Throughout the flight down to the surface Hux and Parnadee were discussing some of the importance of what she would be doing along with how many ‘troopers she would be expected to recruit initially.

The shuttle lands and you all depart. Kylo’s grip on your arm tightens and you feel the Force around you do too. No running. Even if you did have the chance to run, where would you run to?  

Your parents would send you back, as would Carter and Hayden. The education they had received would be sure of that. You had no idea what state of mind your siblings would be in but you were pretty sure they were in the same boat. The entire planet was in the same boat. Your ark. And it was your covenant with Kylo that would keep it afloat. Your covenant would end the floods, and the suffering they may receive.

Before you and Kylo enter the room the Hux asked to speak to you for a moment, and by you he meant both of you seeing as Kylo refused to let you go.

“M’lady we have received an answer to your inquiry from earlier this morning,” said Hux.

“We have,” you honestly didn’t expect an answer so soon.

“Yes, m’lady. She has agreed to take the position as your lady-in-waiting. She will join you tomorrow on your departure from the Steadfast to the Supremacy. I have made arrangements for everything she will need. One of our seamstresses will assist you with packing, the lieutenant was kind enough to make an itemized list of your purchases, and everything will be checked. After that, any other trip you shall take one of your ladies-in-waiting will help you prepare,” responded Hux.

Really, he was the one running things, making sure the whole First Order was together and operating with stellar efficiency. Whereas Kylo was the hammer that cracked down anytime he saw fit. He had others do the work, but he made sure those others were people that could do their jobs. Just as he was going to have you be his diplomat. He was an enforcer, a brute, a beast. You would be refined, tame, and calculated. You needed to keep a closer eye on the general to learn tips from him. He almost always knew when to bite back at Kylo and when to hold off, but you suppose it was because they have been doing this dance longer than you had, and he knew all the steps.

Kylo then had Hux enter the room and you were left alone in the hallway with him. A hand came to hook itself under your chin to bring your eyes to meet his, or rather where his were supposed to be under his helmet.

“You will behave yourself. Your people are to believe that Earth is completely under General Parnadee’s control and therefore my control. They are not to know exactly when we are leaving. You will remain quiet unless it is called upon you to speak, do I make myself clear Kitten?”

“Yes, you made yourself very clear, Kylo,” you respond. You could feel his grip on your chin tighten as you said his name. But you had an agreement that if he called you Kitten when you were alone that meant you could call him Kylo.

He released your chin only after his leather-clad thumb swept over your lips, if he wasn’t wearing the helmet he would have kissed you. “May I get you some tea?” Doyoung asked kindly but weirdly nervously as he held the door open for her.

“Err … sure. Thank you.” She answered taking a seat in the one guest office chair the room had to offer. She sat down at the very edge of it.

“Mr. Jung will be here shortly.” With those words he closed the door behind him and went to the small kitchen the entire office shared. He shoved away the half empty take-out boxes one of his nasty coworkers had left there from the night before and filled water into the electric kettle. By far the most used gadget in this kitchen.

On the way back to his boss’ office he ran into Johnny. A wide grin forming on his face the closer they got to each other.

“You’re making her tea?”

Doyoung huffed. “I was told to offer her tea.” Holding the fragile blue tea cup with both hands he tried to ignore the tall brunette and just walk past him.

“Who told you to? Jaehyun?” He asked excitedly and followed him, making sure not to be get rid of.

Doyoung sighed. Johnny was getting on his nerves a lot lately. It actually seemed to him as if making his time at work as unbearable as possible. The way he just walked around the office and never seemed to be working on anything was making Doyoung develop a certain type of headache that now always kicked in when he saw his coworker.

“Don’t you have work to do?” He asked grumpily, still trying to get rid of him.

“Nah, not right now. Besides this is much more interesting and she is sort of my work, no?”

Doyoung rolled his eyes at that question. “She is one of the candidates you selected after the incident.”

“She is the top candidate.” Johnny said proudly as if that was somehow his doing.

“That’s honestly something I can’t imagine.”

“Why not?”

They walked the last bits to the office together and Johnny now looked through the shutters, trying to get a glimpse of the woman inside.

“She is kind of missing the edge? Weirdly normal. It’s hard to imagine she is supposed to be the best in her field. And" Doyoung paused. "... so different from June.”

“You mean she’s not freaking scary?”

Doyoung shuddered. “Exactly. It’s weird.”

Johnny chuckled sneerily. “You should know not all women are as cray-cray as our dear June. Something you would have noticed by now if you would be interested in women.”

The headache got worse.

“Please just get lost already.”

“Just one more thing.”

Doyoung was close to tears. “What is it?”

“Where did you get that mug from?”

“Pardon me?”

“That cup you’re holding. It’s not one of the few I brought for everyone.”

“You mean the filthy ones you never wash up and that slowly start to reek of coffee?”

Johnny blinked offendedly. “They are supposed to do that! It’s a patina!”

“Coffee is not supposed to have a patina that’s just utter bullshit and besides, you never wash them or put them in the dishwasher so how or why are we going to use them even if we wanted to?”

“Are you saying no-one is using them?”

"Of course not! Everyone has their own."

"Their own cups??"

“Of course.” Doyoung knocked on the door to Jaehyun’s office. “We’re grown up people. We have our own mugs.”

The way this man looked at her gave her chills. For a few minutes he was sitting across the room behind the desk, monitoring her breath or god knows what.

To be honest: She had no idea what she was doing here. This was a job interview but she didn’t know what position for or how they heard of her. She just moved to the city a few months ago and since then she laid pretty low for quite a handful of reasons.

And then a few days ago there was this letter between the usual junk mail, inviting her for this interview.

A knock on the door teared her from her thoughts and the man didn’t even look up as he commanded: “Come in.”

The other employee from before walked in and handed her the tea he promised and left the room as quiet and quick as he entered it.

Now holding the cup in her hands she took a sip and nervously rubbed her thumb against the rim.

“Your name is Song, right? At least that is your alias if I am not mistaken.”

Song choked on her tea. How does he know? She coughed. “Excuse me?”

“It says here”, he pointed with an expensive looking pen at the open file in front of him. “your alias is Song. Is that not correct?”

“No.” Her voice was shaking just ever so slightly. “That’s correct.”

The man smiled softly. “Great. I am Jung Jaehyun. Nice to meet you.”

Song honestly doubted how nice it was to meet her but she kindly replied to the phrase.

Jaehyun relaxed a little in his chair and kept eyeing her. “What is the alias for? What do you do?”

She frowned confusedly. “You invited me for a job interview and don’t know what I do?”

He chuckled. “I know what you do. I just want to hear it from you. How you would describe it.”

Looking down at the cup and the tea’s surface she took two seconds to think. “I am an illustrator. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts I became a self-employed illustrator.”

“What are you drawing for?”

“Children’s books.”

“Righ, right. A decent occupation of a respectable young woman. How nice.” He had a look at the file in front of him and turned a few pages. Just now Song wondered why he had such a huge file with information about her.

She once again looked down at her reflection on the tea and noticed how striking the resemblance was between the cup she was holding in her hands right now and the one in the cupboard at home. “I have to say, excuse me for putting it this way, for a young lady of more or less stable income you have a quiet expensive taste.”

“Expensive taste?” What was he saying? Of course she did break out the formal wear for this occasion but the turtleneck and the checkered straight leg pants she was wearing were far away from being considered expensive. Yes, she had a certain wardrobe that would leave her dear late-parents shocked but what she did with their financial legacy was her very private business, right? So what the hell was he saying?

“In art. The apartment you’re living in isn't the highest in rent and not the best in location either but the paintings hanging on those very walls certainly have me wondering why you didn’t choose a better place? One who can collect such delicate pieces of art must be well off financially. Though I can’t see anything of it in your financial records.”

A small red light lit up inside of her head which let her know it was high time to leave. But something about this man and the way he was talking to her made her stay. Jaehyun obviously knew a shit ton about her but yet he asked her about her job as if he didn’t already know.

“I am sorry but, I’m a bit confused.” Song decided it was time to drop the mask of the young respectable illustrator. She sat up a bit straighter and leaned forward, putting the cup down on the small table beside her.

“I know what I do for a living and you know what I do for a living. You know my alias and you know where I live. So would you please just tell me why I am here? Is this about the national historic museum three months ago?”

Jaehyun smiled as if he finally got what he wanted. “I heard about that but no, I am not involved in it so it’s not the reason you’re here. If I understand correctly you paint commissions?”

“I do.”

“Wrong.” He said, now leaning forward as well, elbows on the table top. “You forge art and have people pay you to do it. And you’re good.”

Song looked him directly into the eyes.

“So good in fact, that you sometimes produce two copies. One with the purpose to replace the original in the museum. The other one with the purpose to fool your customers and make them pay your horrend commission fees.”

“So you ordered me here to … do what exactly? If you want me to forge something for you or paint you something nice for your office you could have contacted me in the official way. Well, as official as it gets.”

He laughed once again and by this time Song began to ask again what was so funny about her. Or did he just not take her seriously?

“To be quite frankly: I want you to work for me.”

“Fine.” She answered brusquely and got up. “I’m sure if you were able to find out so many things about me one could write a novel about it, you will be able to contact me the way my clients usually do.”

Before she made the first step towards the door he said just as calm as he has been the entire time: “I want you to work for me exclusively as part of the company. Not as a one time thing but permanently.”

She stopped.

“I have been looking for someone like you for quite some time now but you’re the first suitable candidate.”

It’s a lie. She thought to herself. That can’t be the truth.

“So your way of asking me to work for you is to order me here and serve me tea in my own cup you got as a souvenir from breaking into my apartment?”

“It’s very effective, is it not? Also, one can only imagine what it feels like to fool the feds instead of a wealthy dentist or lawyer. To forge a real old master instead of some small 600 bucks wannabe fine artist.”

Song walked up to the door and already had one hand on the handle but his next sentence made her stay.

“Maybe it’s just me but something like the heist we’re going for would certainly gain you a" He paused to choose his words wisely. "properreputation. What feeling must it be to have someone look at the pieces in your flat and not just think ‘this one must be financially well off’ but verywell off?”

She kept staring at the heavy wooden door, had him talking to her back.

“And just for the record: All of my employees have their own mugs.”

She took a deep breath and turned around. Her initial anger was gone.

“Well I guess then you can keep it right where it is.”

It’s every little girl’s dream: to get her Bachelor one-on-one during Budget Date Week. Peter’s first order of business in Cleveland is to fly Victoria F. directly out of Cleveland (she’s afraid of heights) and right to Cedar Point (in the pouring rain).

After some rides and soon-to-be-much-needed alcohol, Peter and Victoria F. walk into a performance by Chase Rice, UNC linebacker turned NASCAR pit crew member turned reality TV star turned country music wannabe. I think the bigger plot twist than Victoria F. having dated Chase Rice in the past might be how much Peter seems to want to date Chase Rice in the future.

Later, in a dimly-lit, cavernous lobby somewhere (a Bachelor standard), Victoria F. comes clean to Peter about dating Chase Rice. No one is sure why this requires a confession. Peter wonders if he could date Chase Rice now or if that would mean breaking girl code with Victoria F. No, right? Because boys? To be determined. Victoria F. gets the rose.

The Group Date

Peter takes the women to the home of the Cleveland Browns to play a game of full-pad tackle football. The stakes provide that the losing team does not get to go to Champagne Party later, and thus the bloodlust is triggered.

The bloodlust would be more engaging if it were paired with athletic ability, but alas, the women are bad at the football. Peter spends the game oscillating between massaging the injured Victoria P. on the sideline and screaming like a fanatical dad.

Later, in the losers’ locker room, Natasha vows to block for Shiann to talk to Peter since Shiann scored all their… goals?

Later, at Champagne Party

The producers pivot and invite both teams to the post-game Champagne Party so that there are more witnesses to the undesirable return of Alayah. Alayah is back with a fresh blowout, 72 hours of Twitter tea to spill, and a plan to get back on the show and bury Victoria P. in the process.

Alayah and Victoria P. hold hands while disputing the extent of their friendship and whether they had, at some point in the past, almost planned a trip to Vegas. Peter is lost in confusion. But ultimately, because he is a solid 7.5 surrounded by – nay, fought over – by twenty 10s for the first time in his life, Peter allows Alayah to return to the show and gives her the rose to the group date she wasn’t even on.

The Second One-On-One

Peter takes Kelsey walking around Cleveland to do all the things one can do in Cleveland: eat street pierogis, dance a spontaneous polka, watch children develop dangerous street racing habits, and eventually steal the trophies the children brought.

Later, at outdoor booze time, Kelsey confesses the story of her parents’ divorce to a turtlenecked Peter. Peter watches with sad, deep eyes while he wonders what Chase Rice is doing right now.

The Rose Ceremony

Remember, Alayah has had several days at home to internet stalk all of the other contestants and returns bearing receipts. She gets to work immediately spreading rumors. Victoria F. used to date Chase Rice. Hannah Anna slept with Blake at Stagecoach. Kelley also slept with Blake at Stagecoach. Mykenna is wanted for a triple homicide in the state of Oklahoma.

At the Cocktail Party, all the women confront Peter for allowing a fox back into the hoehouse after they literally bruised for him at the football. Mykenna holds her arms out to prove the bruising. One-by-one, each woman tells Peter he is a no-talent ass clown. I personally enjoy it.

Who will he send home? Alayah the boomerang? Victoria P. the instigator? Savannah, because frankly it’s time?
