Dating Kylo Ren Headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you prefer a relationship with someone who is overprotective, obsessive and clingy, he’s the perfect match for you!
If you're dating Kylo Ren, it means that you have successfully broken down his walls which is very difficult.
He is a very reserved individual with unmanaged anger issues, preferring to keep to himself when given the chance.
Due to his nature, many individuals in the First Order try their best to stay out of his way in fear of his raging temper.
However, once you peak his interest, he will find ways of being around you while you carry on with your duties around the ship.
He has never been in love or even remotely had crushes before. When he starts feeling this need creep into his chest, he needs to uncover why you enchant him so.
He's very inexperienced with romance or courting, please save him.
Therefore, when he tries courting you, he fumbles at times and innerly gets pissed at himself.
He was trying to make you flustered, not giggle sweetly, which makes his heart race.
Once, he was caught by one of his knights practicing in the mirror on asking you out.
Cardo never ran away so fast in his life serving as one of the Knights of Ren.
Once you're offically in a relationship with him, you will see a different side to him that others never get to see.
Mentioned previously, Kylo is very overprotective. Your safety is his first priority and he will drop everything else if you were ever in danger.
He never allows anyone to cause you harm or touch you inappropriately.
The type that will not simply tell someone off, he will either choke them to death with the force or use his lightsaber.
Whenever Kylo's mind is made up, there is rarely anything that will change his perspective. Besides you.
He values your opinion over everyone else and gives you his undivided attention when you speak up and takes it into consideration.
His love languages are quality time and physical touch.
He is a very jealous man.
In public, he's more reserved in his affection. The most he will do is keep an arm around your waist or give you temple kisses when he isn't wearing his mask.
In private, good luck having him keep his hands off you, he craves your touch.
Spam Liking = Blocked
However, he isn't jealous as in someone has a chance to steal you from him. He's the type of jealous that feels rage within him when someone thinks that they can even remotely try.

Demonization of the Enemies to Lovers Trope
I find it very disingenuous when Zutara antis compare or lump Zutara with problematic ships like Reylo and Dramione. Anyone who makes a claim like this should have not any opinions about ATLA respected. Because they obviously did not watch the show.
There are major differences that set Zutara apart from Reylo and Dramione.
Zutara vs Dramione - Friendship
Zuko and Katara reconciled and became very close friends in season 3. Draco and Hermione disliked each other in canon and the best of their relationship was civility. Dramione could have served the same narrative function as Zutara by representing union after war but Dramione lacked the canon building blocks that Zutara had.
Zutara vs Reylo - Redemption
Zuko has a powerful redemption arc. But even when Zuko was an antagonist, he was never truly evil. And Zuko's actions towards Katara (eg tying her to a tree) were not completely monstrous. Zuko and Katara never crossed any boundaries while enemies. When Katara starts showing compassion to Zuko, it is in season 2 when Zuko is no longer an active threat (eg. offering to heal Iroh and their emotional moment in the catacombs). Compare this to Reylo where there are all these romantic undertones while Reylo and Kylo are still enemies. Kylo also has a worse record than Zuko: murdering his dad, oppressing countless people, killing civilians, and maiming people. And Rey for some reason, before Kylo does anything to deserve it, begins to feel sorry for him. Unlike Zuko, we don't see Kylo truly atone for what he did to Rey. Not to mention the abusive elements in their relationship such as Kylo calling Rey worthless.
The point is that people need to stop demonizing enemies to lovers ships. And stop lumping healthy ships like Zutara with more toxic ships like Dramione and Reylo. It's not a fair comparison.

Speaking too loudly had become a dangerous thing. The arrival of the First Order seemed to have put the entire planet under a vow of silence, with only a few scattered whispers being heard in the week since they landed.
A chill ran up (Y/N)’s spine as lines of Storm Troopers marched through the village. They were searching for something; she could feel it and it made her tighten the bolts on their doors a bit tighter.
“Stay back from the windows, child. We must not draw attention to ourselves.” A voice said softly as (Y/N) peered through a crack in the thin curtains.
She obeyed, turning to face her father as she did so. “They won't leave until they find it. We can't hide from them here forever. Eventually, they’ll start searching homes.”
Her father moved to shut the curtain more securely. He dropped his voice to a whisper, “They will never find it here. Or anywhere.”
(Y/N) kept watch on the curtain out of the corner of her eye as her father pulled a small piece of paper from his pocket.
He unfolded it gently despite the thick paper already being slightly damaged. The ink was barely visible in the firelight that glowed throughout the home; revealing an untidy scrawl of letters and numbers.
The coordinates of the Resistance base. With the initials P.D just beneath.
The two had been discussing leaving the planet for months. (Y/N)’s father had been involved in aiding the fight against the empire for years, keeping in close contact with their base.
(Y/N) ,too, had been in contact with a particular person on the base. A certain fighter pilot who she had known since her childhood through their parent's mutual work with the Resistance.
She almost scolded her father to put the paper away before he tossed it into the fireplace.
“We don't need it anymore, I've got it all up here.” He said, pointing toward his head.
(Y/N) watched the coordinates disappear into the flames, wincing a bit as her friend's initials disintegrated as well.
The flickering of the flames almost made her miss her father making his way toward the door, slipping a blaster into the pocket of his jacket.
Her father hesitated for a moment as she placed her hand on his sleeve. “I have to find out what they are planning. General Organa will want to know their whereabouts and where they plan on traveling. They've set up a camp a few miles from here. ”
“But-” (Y/N) began, wanting to argue that it wasn't safe. She had a strange feeling in her heart that she couldn't explain. A feeling that had lingered ever since the First Order arrived.
“I have to do this, my child.”
“No, you don't.” (Y/N) stated defiantly.
Her father smiled softly at her. “You don't think your father can handle himself against a few stormtroopers. This isn't my first stealth mission.”
“When you were younger you could. All we need to do is find a transport that'll bring us to the Resistance base or at least close to it. Then we can worry about the First Order's next move.” (Y/N) explained.
The flames had begun to die out, leaving the home in almost complete darkness. A soft sigh pierced through the silence.
“It is late.” (Y/N)’s father said, moving away from the door. “We don't have to discuss this now.”
The sound of stormtrooper boots connecting with the hard ground as they marched was the last sound (Y/N) heard as she drifted to sleep later that night.
She didn't even notice the sound of her father's footsteps as he slipped out of their home toward the First Order camp.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The First Order campsite was small. A few darkly colored tents had been placed in a circle surrounding a campfire. Stormtroopers switched shifts guarding the borders, pacing back and forth in front of the trees that surrounded them.
(Y/N)’s father approached the edge of the wood, trying his best not to alert the troopers to his presence.
He stepped lightly around the perimeter of the camp, trying to hear any type of conversation over the crackling of the campfire.
Outside of one of the tents, he heard faint whispering though he couldn't make out any of what was being said.
If he could just get a bit closer.
A twig snapped beneath his feet as he stepped closer. The whispering from the tent stopped almost instantly.
The whispering is replaced by footsteps striding toward him. (Y/N)’s father holds his breath, willing his daughter to make it to the resistance base safely even if he couldn't be there with her.
After a moment, a deep, muffled voice he had heard from the tent spoke. “We appear to have a guest.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The clench in (Y/N)’s chest grew stronger by the second.
Frantically, she began to shove any item that could be of any sort of use into a tattered satchel.
She should have known better than to think her father would have waited instead of running off to spy on the First Order. He had never been one to miss an opportunity to do good.
As much as she wanted to run as far away as she could, hop on a transport, and try to make it to the resistance base by herself; she couldn't leave her father. She would never even consider it.
(Y/N) hesitated as she placed her hand on the doorknob, tossing the satchel over her shoulder.
Her father was most likely captured at the First Order campsite. She knew that she’d be walking straight into the enemy's territory. Stormtroopers would shoot her down without a second thought.
But her father was in danger. She would never forgive herself if she didn't at least try.
She tightened her grip on the doorknob, taking one last deep breath before walking out toward the First Order campsite.
The journey to the camp seemed like a blur. (Y/N) couldn't really recall the path she took there nor did she know where she was going. Somehow her body knew where to go, like a magnetic force was pulling her in the right direction.
The stormtroopers keeping watch were on high alert, clearly more attentive since someone had slipped past them.
The pull grew stronger the moment she stepped foot into the camp. She couldn't tell what it was telling her to do or where to go, but she followed it nonetheless.
It was a miracle none of them saw her as she made her way from tent to tent, peaking in slightly in search of her father.
“(Y/N)?” A voice called from behind her. She whipped around instantly, her stomach dropping as she saw her father.
His face was severely bruised on one side. A stream of blood ran from his nose and his eyelids seemed to struggle to stay up. His arms were wrapped around the tree behind him, his legs bound at the ankles.
She ran to him, dropping to her knees to try and free him.
Her father’s gaze shot around frantically. “You have to leave. Go! Now!”
“I won't leave you here.” (Y/N) replied defiantly.
“But you don't understand! He-” Her father started.
A brilliant red glow illuminates the area. A person approached them slowly, holding the source of the light in his hands. A sword of light.
“What have you done to my father?!” (Y/N) demanded, rising to her feet.
Her father's captor stepped forward, allowing (Y/N) to see him more clearly. He was dressed in full black, his boots scuffed from the terrain. A mask covered his face, shielding the rest of his appearance from her.
She knew who he was. Everyone in the galaxy would recognize him in a heartbeat.
A strange feeling washed over her as she glared at him. A strong feeling of familiarity that she couldn't place.
The mask covering his face muffled his voice a bit as he spoke. “Your father has trespassed on First Order territory.”
(Y/N) felt a slight, unfamiliar pinch in her chest as she stepped closer to the Supreme Leader. “He hasn't done anything. Let him go.”
Kylo Ren’s rigid posture remained the same, his lightsaber glowing in the darkness. “Your father is with the resistance. He knows where they are. He would not give them up willingly so I had to use other methods.”
(Y/N)’s father hung his head in shame. Anger boiled in (Y/N)’s chest.
“You have what you want. Now let him go.” She snapped.
“He is a strong one. I wasn't able to get the coordinates from his mind. Whoever trained him in interrogation resistance should be proud.” Ren responded, his voice completely devoid of emotion.
Two stormtroopers marched forward, making their way to her father.
Panic rose in (Y/N)’s chest. Panic at her father's fate. Panic at the pulsing she had been feeling in her chest ever since the First Order arrived.
(Y/N) let out a scream as the troopers began to drag her father away. She held out her hands to reach for him, desperately begging for him to be released.
“I know the coordinates!” She screamed.
It was like time seemed to stop. The troopers dropped her father at Ren’s command.
She ran to her father, feeling Ren’s eyes staring into her back.
He studied her, taking a step forward as he reached out his hand to hover over her temple. The image of the coordinates burning in their fireplace flashed in her mind. She willed the words to disappear off of the page.
“Show them to me,” Ren demanded.
“Let my father go.”
“This isn't a bargain.”
“Then you aren't getting the coordinates.” (Y/N) replied, staring him straight in the eye.
Ren’s posture shifted. He seemed to look at her from behind that lifeless mask for an eternity before turning to the cluster of stormtroopers that had formed around them.
The strange clench had returned to (Y/N)’s soul.
“Release the old man. Take the girl to the ship.” Ren said, his focus returning to (Y/N) once more.
“No!” Her father yelled.
(Y/N) looked over at him. Her heart clenched as two troopers forced him into the forest. She mouthed a silent I'm sorry before returning her attention to Ren and the troopers surrounding her.
Ren seemed uneasy, his feet shifting every few seconds. “Tear down the camp,” He ordered the troops, “We leave at sunrise.”
The planet remained silent. All that could be heard was the rustling of tents being torn down and the distant yell of her father's voice.

The fact that the resistance wasn’t immediately destroyed is the most unrealistic thing in the sequel trilogy. And their enemy was the First Order, so that says a lot. They’re very committed to moral purity in their battle strategy. When Finn tries to sacrifice himself to blow up the canon about to kill everyone Rose just ??? stops him?? because its ‘not about destroying the empire its about saving the one you love’. This is the polar opposite of Andors rebels, who are totally willing to merc people they worked with and knowingly let soldiers die, for the greater good. If you put the Resistance, led by an Admiral who doesn’t inform her troops of her plans even when there isn’t any security risk, against the miniscule Rebel Effort in Andor, the Resistance would be burned to the ground in less than 48 hours, and the only reason it’s that long is because poe is there.
And don’t get me started on a show off between the First Order and the ISB. Dedra would put Kylo Rens head on her mantle.
