What's one of your favourite tropes to write about? And if you want to tell, what's one of your favourite MOGAI flags, from a design/colour palette perspective? :o

gonna b real... miscommunication is one of my fave tropes to write. NOTTT the "i misconstrued the shadows of my husband to be cheating on me!!" type of it, i mean like "we do not know how to always communicate our thoughts or feelings correctly and misunderstand each other because of this and were all just humans fumbling around with our own assumptions and interpretations" type of it

i am so very autistic about social interactions and communication and Love to write when people fuck it up and examine Why it was fucked up and why xyz came across differently than meant... etc

as for mogai flags i rlly like from a design perspective, probably cufemian or konderic!

'Ello, I just wanted to come on here to say how much I LOVE your brush-work (is that a word lol?)

Crayon or Pencil-like lines that aren't always opaque all the way and are a little more sketchy sometimes are probably some of my favourite :D

Also, your style is just really cool and nice anyway, but I wanted to give a shout out specifically to your based brush choice!

yessss i love traditional textures in digital art, thank you :> i use kyle t webster's brushes for photoshop and I've never found brushes that better emulate certain real-life textures. man's a wizard, i dunno how he does it. i use his tiltiriffic 2015 brush for basically everything short of merch and anything i want to have really thick lines, it's a delightful brush and it feels so natural to work with.

i heard advice somewhere that people tend to resonate more with art that looks like it was hand drawn, you want small imperfections in your coloring and lineart, you don't want everything to be perfect. i really resonate with that, i think there's a certain element to sketchy pencil lines and messy paint and kraft paper textures that you could call, appropriately... cozy :)c

anyway if anyone would like to know what brushes i use and what i use them for they are under the cut with examples 👍

hopefully this image can be blown up if you click on it :') the only brushes that aren't featured are the ones i got from the free sample pack from true grit texture supply, i use their craft paper textures for most things as well and one of their building grain shader brushes for like, noise gradients. if any of y'all have a photoshop subscription you can download his brushes for free, i highly recommend checking them out! they are THE coolest brushes i've ever used (And boy I've gone through a lot of brushes in my time). if your drawing tablet does not have pressure or tilt sensitivity though your mileage will vary, tilteriffic did not work on my brothers tablet because it couldn't pick up what angle my stylus was at.

18. Do you have any larger projects you'd like to pursue? Like comics, shortfilm, a series etc?

Yeah I do! A picture book, a (quite long-ish) animatic, a story that I haven't decided if I want to make it into a comic or a novel...

22. When is your prime time to work on your art?

I don't think I have a specific time honestly. When I'm interested in what I'm working on I hyperfocus and can easily spend the entire day drawing without breaks (not good for you, don't recommend)

24. How do you deal with artblock?

This is a hard one cause I don't fully know lol Taking breaks is very helpful in my opinion. When your brain or your hands can't draw, that's your sign you shouldn't. It doesn't really help if you force yourself to do it, you're not gonna enjoy it and you're going to get even more frustrated, so take a step back, go do something else, watch something, play a videogame, whatever takes you out of the art block mindset and then come back. I have spent months without touching my tablet because of art block. Sometimes it's scary, it feels like you'll never be able to draw again, but you will. You'll come back more inspired than ever and come up with your best work yet! :D

If you can't afford the luxury of taking a break (if you work as an artist and have deadlines) then I would like to remind you that art block is mostly mental. It's not that you can't draw, it's that you don't like anything you draw. And I know it sucks to hand in work you're not 100% proud of, but clients won't know you're state of mind during the making of that piece. They will see fantastically done and timely submitter art. You can hate it and move on ;)

So I want to apologize, if this question kinda comes out of the blue/is a bit vague, but I saw some of your posts about FanFiction.net, and I wanted to ask someone that had experience with that site:

Would you recommend uploading fics there? I'm seriously considering uploading some of my AO3 works on there as well, but I'm just starting to navigate the site, and am a bit anxious. How would you say your experience was?

I personally haven't used ff.net since, like, 2015, so take this with as many grains of salt as needed.

From what I understand, while when I was a kid ff.net was the place to be, it's been in a sharp decline over the years. Pretty much everyone who's posting fic has moved to AO3 these days, so I don't know what kind of reach you might get.

To be fair, I badmouth the ff.net experience a lot, but it wasn't that bad. A part of its infamous reputation was just because it was a bastion of Poorly Edited Fanfic Written By Teenagers or straight up trollfic (think My Immortal). Adding to that was because a lot of teens were on the site and, well, teens can be annoying at times. I think every teenager goes through a phase of being irritating, and that is an essential part of the human experience. Cringey Fandom Teens were certainly not exclusive to ff.net, but they were hard to miss!

I'm not sure how good of an archive ff.net is these days, though. There's a very real chance that it's just straight up gonna go under before too long, it's been neglected for years by whoever runs it.

So, tl;dr - if you wanna do it I don't think anything bad will happen, but it's probably not the best medium for it any more.

i like my lines the best!! i enjoy doing linework and afterwards it looks crunchy to me :]

So Many Things lol. I’ll draw fanart (even if it’s just doodling) for pretty much anything im into.

oh man uhhh its been a While since i searched for any references (I haven’t done anything more than a simple sketch or doodle since April lol). Probably that I am really into Star Trek (which isn’t untrue) (last references searches that I remember were for the inside and outside of a type 6 shuttlecraft for my minibang art)
