week 1… choi yeonjun + the closing shift - chilla’s art

-> everyday you seemingly mess up with your manager, no matter what- he always had something negative to say to you... about you. it made you start hating work, until he assigned a cute guy to help train you better. you and yeonjun work pretty late nights… everything was great until things kept going missing, yeonjun kept having unfortunate things happen to him, and you both start feeling like you’re not alone even if the cafe is presumably empty…

week 2… nishimura riki + five nights at freddy’s - scott cawthon

-> summer job this, summer job that, blah blah blah. you and riki have been friends since you were kids, both your parents wanted you to have a summer job. you finally got one at an old pizzeria you and riki used to frequent. he noticed as you worked there, the more tired you looked. riki hated watching you slowly lose yourself, so on your third day, riki decides to prank you and break in… imagine how much that’ll backfire on both of you as the night goes on.

-> you trick your boyfriend into playing a horror game on felix’s pc. at first you’re giggling evilly as you watched han start getting really attached to the characters. as the hours go on you watch as your boyfriend slowly as he starts losing his mind over the seemingly cutesy game turning into a traumatic gameplay experience, but what happens when your friend’s computer actually starts glitching? and what happens if you become a target to the game?

week 4… jake sim + slenderman - blue isle studios

-> jake knew you were not the camping type. spending the night in a tent does not sound ideal to you, especially in the middle of the woods. however, your boyfriend means the world to you. to humor him, you decide to go camping with him. jake is ecstatic to spend time with you, as you both make it to the campsite, you start to notice weird drawings on the trees. and as night approaches you start to feel watched, your boyfriend fails to notice the tall figure in the trees.

warnings- horror, suspense, this one won’t really be as intense as the others.

i have officially watched playthroughs of every chilla's art game from Okaeri onward

scariest: night security

creepiest: closing shift, jisatsu

best narrative: parasocial, the kidnap

honorable mentions go to the karaoke for having SIX distinct endings, and the radio station for having some really premium jumpscares (the fucking pig......)

basically since 2022 theyve been putting out straight bangers. they really hit their stride. not to say prior games were bad but these just knocked it out of the park

most overrated: convenience store. surely some of the information revealed in the good end could have been conveyed in some way during actual gameplay. that fucking info lore dump was completely unnecessary and ruined any enjoyment i had derived from the game itself

Hi! Can you explain your closing shift au?? I’ve never watched the gameplay (if it’s based off that), and I’d really love for you to explain the plot of it.

Oh don't worry, I'm here to answer questions after all. My au is based off the story in game but not entirely. In the game, you're stalked down by someone for a few days while working at a coffee shop. It's not until the closing shift(roll credits) when he attacks and you have to protect yourself much like most other Chilla's art games.

My au has the same things but just a little bit more so don't worry if you haven't seen closing shift. My au focuses on a little more on the gross disgusting side and paranoia that comes with being stalked. It also has a little more going on, so if you compare it to the gameplay they'll be many differences like the party in chapter 2. There isn't any party in the actual game so guess you can't really use my fic to see the actual closing shift. 😅😅

Honestly it's all about the idea and how much it hypes me at the moment. I'm very spontaneous person and don't stick to some schedule or a plan. Like for example two weeks ago I was watching gameplay of some chilla's art games and atmosphere alone inspired me to write psychological horror post X fic. Then this week it crossed my mind how creepy, mentally broken and yandereish Sakurazukamori Subaru would be after few years have passed and proceeded to write 13k about that 😂 so no schedule whatsoever, just vibes

21. If you wrote a missing scene in liberation (kinky petplay trc fuukam fic) what would it be?

Hmm probably humorous scene morning after. Something something Kamui wakes up at 13pm cuz he and Fuuma were fucking till idk 4am and then he hisses why Fuuma hasn't woken him up cuz now they're 2 hours late to meeting up with Subaru. Fuuma said he didn't give a fuck and Kamui almost kills him but then Fuuma drops reminder of how he acted night before and Kamui instead wants to kill himself. Ofc Subaru knows what's the deal when he noticed Fuuma and Kamui are late. Some time later (read: 4pm) they finally meet with Subaru but then Kamui remembers that Subaru knows he and Fuuma are fucking and can't look his brother in the eye. Fuuma drops another innuendo how his brother was a pleasure to have and both twins blush so hard they almost pass out.

When Subaru is not looking Fuuma grops Kamui in public and he starts hissing. Subaru notices him hissing and innocently remarks how Kamui resembles a cat when doing so. Unbeknownst to him that triggered way too many kinky remindes from last night for Kamui to function properly. He trips over own foot and falls down. Rest of hanging out is spent with Kamui blushing and not being able to look neither Subaru nor Fuuma in the eye

Chilla's Art Game

Chilla's Art is an indie game developer team from Japan that have created a variety of first-person walking simulator/horror games. I have watched numerous gameplay videos on YouTube and really enjoy the whole atmosphere of the games and how the horror aspects are very similar in each game but effective.

One of the games in particular that is one of the more popular games as it has an interesting story narrative is The Closing Shift. It centres around a young woman who works the night shift at Chilla's Coffee - the player has to make coffee for a range of different customers

The art style is simplistic yet atmospheric; the dark and grainy graphics create an eerie ambiance that adds to the horror theme.

Making the coffee and taking customer's orders can be either fun and therapeutic or really stressful depending on whether you're a fan of cafe simulators. However, it soon grows in tension as the character wonders whether they are being stalked. I think this is the main selling point of the game as a stalker is a very realistic, anxiety inducing threat. Having this game in mind for reference will help me in case I want to go down the horror route, if not, it is still an interesting game that will help me with aesthetics.
