Presenting the loveliest piece of reality TV in the world. 向往的生活2 (Back to the field 2) is the second season. There are four hosts, from left to right Peng Yuchang is an actor, he’s just a cute kid who works hard and eats as much as he can. Next is Huang Lei an actor singer polymath that causes every woman in China to fall in love with him. He’s pretty much the Dad of the show, he cooks all the meals and keeps the younger boys in check. Next is Henry Lau, Lau predominantly a singer, he grew up in Canada and has Korean Heritage so Chinese is his third language. He gets a bit confused sometimes because he doesn’t know all the words. He’s sweet and hard working and plays the violin at every opportunity. Finally there is He Jiong, who is a long term host of all kinds of reality shows. He’s funny as fuck, but he’s also a philosopher. He grounds the show and gives it a lot of heart.

Every episode they are joined by between 2 and 7 celebrities singers, actors, hosts, musicians, comedians etc. who come and help to work on the farm, cook dinner together and then sit and play games in the evening. It is adorable and pure and fantastic. Compare this to american shows where all the producers want is conflict. This is the antidote. 

There is of course a negative. The show like any show in China has to rely on product placement and advertising. They do lots of (very tempting) bits on why you should buy this or that product. But that’s TV for you and the resulting show is only slightly marred. Please watch this God Damn adorable show. You won’t regret it.

Watching Chinese tv shows

I didn’t work my chinese very much the past week. But yet, I’ve watch:

 等一個人咖啡,  It’s about waiting for love, finding it and...a coffee shop. I have to say that I’ve really enjoyed this film especially the soundtrack. I’m not used to watch Chinese films or drama, I’m watching a lot in korean instead and It kinda feel more easy for me. 

 我愿意 I do : A film about two men whom is battling for the love of a 34 years old broken hearted woman.  

 and Suddenly seventeen : I can't remember the chinese name but it was pretty good. Can you remember who you was at seventeen now that you are 28 ? What was your dreams ? Your talents ? And if so, would your 17 years old self  will be disappointed in you ? I’ve caught your curiosity so watch this.  

Also starting a Chinese Drama named Think before you marry, not my favorite but still I have to listen more Chinese. If you have  any shows you’ll like to recommend me feel free to do it.
