☕️Things you'd like to happen in KP season 2?

oh man this is an interesting one...hmmm. let's see here. I think I'm gonna lay this out in bullet point form

more vegaspete, obviously, I mean. but specifically them figuring their shit out: pete dealing with being an actual human person with wants and needs and not solely defined by his role as a bodyguard, vegas dealing with the sudden uprooting of the structure of his life as he expected to live it, the both of them, like...figuring out their actual relationship as it exists outside of safehouse confines/imminent death

I also definitely want digging into what porsche and vegas's relationship looks like post finale, and how that plays with kinn and vegas's relationship post finale, and what pete and porsche's relationship looks like as well, I feel like there's a lot of potentially tangled stuff there that I want to see the fallout of

I feel like in general a lot of this is going to be, like, "I want to see fallout of the end of the first season because oh boy did a lot of things blow up in that last episode and we didn't have a lot of time to deal with it"

what is namphueng's whole deal, what is going on with her, is she okay (she's not) and what the fuck actually happened anyway

I would like porsche to discover that while it is pretty nice being a mafia boss in some ways it is also not so nice in other ways, because to me the ending of the first season feels like...well, ostensibly things are fine and good in at least some ways but hoo boy does it feel ominous in a lot of others, and that's going...somewhere. probably bad

also what the fuck is korn up to. nothing good I don't think but. what. would love to see an uprising of the younger generation when that comes out. cousin alliance against bad dad 2

@majestictortoise got me invested in kim and chay's whole deal so...wherever that goes. I want to see kim work for it a little, he's got some making up to do and my favorite thing about kim is when he doesn't know how to feelings and is struggling a little figuring it out

but really I'm in this for the vegaspete, let's not kid ourselves. what I really want in my heart of hearts is kinnporsche season 2: vegaspete and I will not get that but that's fine, I can enjoy other stuff too as long as they're there being their fucked up selves 🥰

☕️ Favorite "comfort food" book?

My dad’s cooking is the best. There are dishes he’s been making since I was a little kid that always make me happy. A cliche answer, but true! I can sort of replicate some of his recipes, but it’s not the same.

I go through periods of really liking a specific food - the most recent ones are risotto and roasted brussel sprouts. I haven’t been cooking much lately because I’m tired and my apartment is too hot, but I want to make some more brussel sprouts soon!

The worst book hangover you’ve ever had

So I’m going to go with this as one where I was so submerged in a book that when I finished it I couldn’t quite leave that world, which has happened many more times than I’d like to say, haha, but the one that comes instantly to mind is Ann Leckie’s Ancillary Justice.

Who's Cassandra's best man?

I’m not sure that Cassandra has anyone standing up with her per se, but the person who calms her down when she’s pacing and fretting before the ceremony is Dorian. With an assist from Leliana. But that’s an entire scene unto itself, so no more details until the story is done!

Josephine is of course attended by her mother and sister, and also a couple of old friends, because Josephine does maintain her friendships even over long times and long distances.

Aki?

Aki’s character is defined by a series of life changing events that drove her on a different path than she did in her original place.  She is a Tops born duelist, still a psychic duelist like in the original.  As a child she got herself into a lot of fights as she dealt with her abilities and her own frustrations, until one experience where she saw a very young Commons boy getting attacked by older Tops kids who were trying to steal a card from him.  Aki snapped and attacked the Tops kids, taking the card back and giving it back to the child.  That made her decide that what she wanted to do more than anything was to try and tear down the horrible system that hurt people just because they were born in a different place or in a different way.  She started out rather violently, using her powers to join up with Commons gangs and fight against the police, until she got arrested and her parents had to bail her out but left the other kids behind in jail.  That experience made her realize that just because she had powers that people were scared of, she still had a privilege that the Commons didn’t.

She started hiding her powers and worked to become a lawyer instead (where her red hair + her prickly personality got her the nickname the Rose Witch), and then she went into politics in an attempt to get herself into Council so she could start tearing down the system from the inside.

She and Roger butt heads a lot, she never trusted him when he was appointed as the head of Security and she hates everything he does with the department and the police.  Later, she makes contact with Reiji and agrees to give what help she can to the Lancers.

Tuon from WoT?

my girl! my (awful) girl. I feel like I've only gotten fonder of Tuon as I get older and appreciate more how extremely fucked up she is on several levels. but also she is friend shaped and I will stand by that. left her squarely in the middle on the "sadistic/helps people" scale though because I'm not sure that Tuon knows how to do many things "for fun" in general

sadly lacking in fruitiness, it's one of her only flaws. well that and the imperialism and the damane thing, that's kind of a problem too I guess

(would not say awful hot takes but I have seen some hot takes that I personally did not enjoy, hence the editing. also please feel free to throw tomatoes at me for the "stray damane" thing)

It’s universe-swapping rather than amnesia, but the first story of the Ouroboros series by bedlamsbard has a similar premise.

I have actually read and loved that story!

But in the case of amnesia, he’d would still be in the suit/still be in command of hunting down the rebels, so other people’s responses to him vs. what he remembers/how he responds to that could be hilarious and then of course devastating. And then you’d have to deal with how he responds once he gets his memories back - does it change anything? Or does he double down on being terrible because he was reminded of a time when he wasn’t and he’s lost everyone all over again?

I mean the obvious answer is JJ but I feel like he’s done it to Phichit and also probably Yuri P. Just like, squinting, except he has very long very black eyelashes like a cow and he’s very beautiful. And his eyes are so dark and mysterious when they’re half-open and squinting to see ten feet in front of him. Even Yakov’s cold black coal of a heart skips a beat when Yuri looks up at him with his big doe eyes under a frame of sooty lashes, even when Yakov knows the difference between “oh please coach, please help me” and “I am.  going to walk straight into that wall oh hell”

the real victims are hockey players tho. they can’t help it. he’s so beautiful and fragile and they want him to be a goalie at every practice.

Man, writing this list made me realize I haven’t eaten most of my comfort foods in years. I need to get on that....
