Convict ship Success was formerly a merchant ship of 621 tons, 117 feet 3 inches x 26 feet 8 inches x 22 feet 5 inches depth of hold, built in Natmoo, Tenasserim, Burma in 1840. After initially trading around the Indian subcontinent, she was sold to London owners and made three voyages with emigrants to Australia during the 1840s, On one of these voyages, following the intervention of Caroline Chisholm, Success sailed into Sydney town just the week before Christmas 1849 with families who had survived the Great Famine.
On 31 May 1852, Success arrived at Melbourne and the crew deserted to the gold-fields, this being the height of the Victorian gold rush. Due to an increase in crime, prisons were overflowing and the Government of Victoria purchased large sailing ships to be employed as prison hulks. These included Success, Deborah, Sacramento and President. In 1857 prisoners from Success murdered the Superintendent of Prisons John Price, the inspiration for the character Maurice Frere in Marcus Clarke's novel For the Term of His Natural Life.
In 1854 the ship was converted from a convict hulk into a stores vessel and anchored on the Yarra River, where she remained for the next 36 years.

River Ryan, Jazz Chisholm, and Baseball’s Most Injured Teams
Kiyoshi Mio-USA TODAY Sports Thanks to the trade deadline, this is a quiet time of the year for transactions, but baseball’s injured list is always hopping, and Tuesday was sadly no exception. First came the announcement that Dodgers pitching prospect River Ryan, our 21st-ranked prospect on the Top 100, would require Tommy John surgery, ending his 2024 season, and at best keeping him out for the…

Sport and Rec Blog
The activities I delivered were Basketball, Netball and footy islands. Coaching techniques I learned during this were to gain control of the group first before explaining the activities, making sure everyone is involved and keeping it fun. Thing that went well was the overall enjoyment of the group. What I learned was making sure people weren't mucking about and losing their attention. I also learned to use hashtags to share and get my content out there more. I also made sure to keep my coaching and personal content separate. It was also easy to use facebook when planning my events so everyone knew what was happening and when.

Melanie C - I Turn to You 2000
"I Turn to You" is a song by British singer Melanie C, written by Melanie C, Rick Nowels and Billy Steinberg. It was released as the fourth single from her debut solo album, Northern Star (1999), on 7 August 2000 and became Melanie's second UK number-one single, selling 120,000 copies in its first week. "I Turn to You" also topped the charts of Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden, as well as the US Billboard Dance Club Play chart. The main single was released in a remixed form by Hex Hector, who won the 2001 Grammy as Remixer of the Year. According to Melanie C after some discussions with Virgin Records executives, they decided to get some remixes done just to see what they sounded like. She stated that she was blown away as soon as she heard the Hex Hector remix, so along with the Virgin executives they decided that it should be released as a single.
With "I Turn to You", Melanie C achieved her tenth number-one UK single as a songwriter and it made her the first woman to top the UK charts as part of a quintet, quartet, duo and as a solo artist. With "Holler", the Spice Girls' final UK number one, Melanie C became the first female songwriter to write at least 11 UK number-one singles. She held this record until 2006. Since the song's release, it has been critically acclaimed as one of the best solo Spice Girl singles. Billboard listed it as the number-one entry in the article "Girl Group Solo Songs: The 10 Best (Non-Beyoncé) Singles of the Modern Era".
After the song gained popularity, it was featured in the 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham. It was also featured in the musical Viva Forever!, a musical show based on the songs of the Spice Girls.
"I Turn to You" received a total of 60,6% yes votes! Previous polls featuring Melanie C: #519 "Spice Up Your Life".

The Yankees continue to be an interesting team this season: Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s One Piece-themed cleats make another appearance, prompting YES commentator Michael Kay to try his best to summarize for Paul O'Neill what his notes tell him about the plot of One Piece (April 1, 2025 — but it's a very real clip)
