The sweet chirping of those birds made you open your eyes slowly. As soon as you opened them, you closed them as the gleaming rays of the sun hit your eyes. You sighed and rubbed your eyes, finally opening them.

You put your hand on your side and felt nothing just soft sheets against your palm rather than a stoned chest or a broad back. You smiled knowing that your dear husband was either in the bathroom or down in the kitchen.

You looked towards the bathroom but no one was there. You heard a soft jazz tune playing downstairs and that was your key to know that your hubby dearest was down in the kitchen. You smiled at your thoughts which were about how lucky you were to have Chris as your husband, opening the door of your bedroom, you took the flight of stairs to the living room.

You slowly opened the kitchen door and saw your husband swinging while making eggs. You resisted a giggle and sneaked your way towards him.

‘I know you are there baby mama, good morning’ Chris said, giggling a little. ‘How the fuck you know when im around you?’ You said, both perplexed and annoyed as your plan to surprise him failed. ‘Your footsteps love, its been four years since our marriage and I got the hold of your footsteps’ Chris smiled at you and gave you a wink.

You were about to say something but the breads came out of the toaster which made you stop. ‘Go on my love, im listening’ Chris said while going to take out the breads. ‘You’re just so amazing Chris’ damn those hormones started their work again. ‘No, I hate those wet eyes baby’ Chris pouted and came to you, holding your chin up so that your eyes were in contact with his.

You just kept looking at him.

‘If you look at me with those eyes my love, I swear im gonna be so fuckin hard’ Chris caressed your cheek with the back of his fingers.

‘I wish our child to have your eyes, Chris’ you softly spoke up.

‘And I wish they get your smile which I got flat on’ Chris grinned and bit his lips, not breaking the eye contact.

You didn’t even realise that your eyes brimmed tears until a drop fell on your cheek. Chris wiped away the drop and smiled softly at you, keeping his palm on your bump.

You kept your hand on top of his, Chris couldn’t take it anymore so he just leaned forward and pressed his lips on yours.

When you both pulled away, you just said ‘I love you’…

‘I love you so much more’ Chris remarked.

‘No, I love you more’ you whined a little which made your hubby laugh.

‘Alright fine, let’s have this argument later and first have your breakfast’ Chris said and took out a chair for you to sit which made you grin.

‘Please my lady’ Chris bowed down to you and you just started laughing at the gesture.
