Smth I’ve always thought would be interesting to explore is how Kwazii and Dashi would react if they met humans since they’re domestic species.

Would they feel some kind of realization hit them? Recognition of something long lost ago. I may not know who you are, but my dna tells me you’re my best friend. Even if humans doomed themselves, those we cared for carried on the legacy and looked after the earth.

it's not about the roses

pairing: chan x reader (i wrote it with idol!chan or producer!chan in mind, but despite a brief mention of the studio it can fit any au, really) word count: 1,1k genre/warnings: er, fluff, a hint of angst if you squint but overall just tooth rotting sweetness. reader being kinda vulnerable author's note: inspired by my and @skzms 's channie brain worms, me crying over how boyfie he is in may's dms and her coming up with this little prompt. i'm manifesting a sweet healthy relationship for y'all, never settle for less <3

you were never the one for flowers, really.

it just didn’t seem anything meaningful or special, an occasional cute little bouquet on some first date you had ages ago, meeting someone completely new after mindlessly swiping them right on a dating app. plus, it’s always such a bother to take care for it. disassemble the thing, cut the stems, change the water, maybe cut off the leaves too.

at some point, you began to think of yourself as more of a practical person, taking gift giving to the point where it completely lost symbolism. always getting your friends and family either money or something they specifically asked for.

“at least, they’re actually gonna use it and get some utility out of it. ‘s good, right?” you thought to yourself, ticking a box on one of your friend’s wishlists for their birthday. it is good. no stress of choosing and endlessly pondering whether they’ll like it or not.

or is it avoiding the vulnerability of going down a more symbolic route if they don’t happen to respond to your gift the way you’d like them to after carefully planting hidden meanings and confessions all over a seemingly useless present? yeah, maybe, that’s the one, actually.

it was a regular saturday evening, no work, no plans, no big day or anything to celebrate. so, naturally, you were just spending the time at your place, resting after successfully having done all the house chores in one go.

purposelessly lying on the bed, you wondered what chris was up to. it wasn’t something out of the ordinary for you two to leave each other hanging during the day, keeping each other’s messages unread and waiting for some free time to give a thoughtful, proper reply.

but the little “1” next to your kakaotalk message was starting to feel unfriendly because... honestly? you just missed him. you wanted to know about his day, what he ate for lunch and whether work was okay today (knowing full well the man couldn’t care less about days of the week, coming over at the studio any time he needed or pleased).

distracting yourself with scrolling tiktok for a quick dopamine hit, you end up losing track of time a little. and the thing bringing you back to reality is chan’s short message, popping up on your notifications bar.

“can you come out for a sec? i’m at the door hehe~”

it takes you three times to read to finally understand what it actually means. he doesn’t have keys to your apartment yet, and you mostly hang out at his place anyways, so him coming all the way to the opposite side of the city makes your heart skip a beat.

you rush to the door and open it almost immediately, only to see channie, your channie, standing right in front of you with a nice bouquet of red roses wrapped up in kraft paper. the next thing you notice is chan’s wide smile, so sincere and endearing it makes you wanna cry on the spot.

you were never the one for flowers, really.

red roses always seemed like something either too vulgar or “easy”. something that becomes men’s first pick because they just never care enough to look for anything else and assume every girl loves it by default.

right now, however, it doesn’t feel like either of those.

the way chris is a bit nervous and really excited all at once; his hands gripping at the crunchy paper-wrapped base as he's waiting to give the flowers to you. the way his eyes sparkle and shine with warmth and genuine adoration for you. and you read past the roses, you learn so much more from it.

you learn how he’s been quiet because he was plotting a little surprise for you, trying not to be too obvious.

you see how he thought of you during the entire process, from an idea to carefully picking out the best flowers, making sure they’re fresh and pretty and will stay this way a while.

you can hear his timid little “thank you” to the florist as they exchange their bows and polite smiles.

you imagine the slightly awkward small talk with the taxi driver asking him about the occasion — the traffic and the parking area next to your building are awful, so you’re guessing he did take the taxi. and the drivers sure love to talk on the long drives, this one you had to learn the hard way.

gosh, chan looks so warm and… so soft, his lips making a familiar heartbreaking :] shape.

snapping out of your thoughts, you look into chris’s eyes and swallow down a salty lump in your throat.

“please don’t be alarmed, but i probably will cry a little,” you warn him before your voice gives out and take the roses, holding them close to your chest where the heart is bleeding.

“so pretty,” you stare down at the gentle velvety petals and sniff quietly.

chan looks worried for a moment but quickly pulls you into his embrace, stepping into the apartment and locking the door behind him.

“hey-y, i expected a smile, not your tears, baby. i didn’t upset you, did i?” to which you shake your head to reassure him.

“no, no, ‘course not! what do you mean? they’re so nice. i’m just… really happy? and i missed you. so much,” the last words come out like a weak mouse squeak as you close your eyes and let your emotions roll down your cheeks, staining your skin wet.

chan nods and takes your face into his palms, wiping away the tears and looking at you so lovingly you think you might actually break.

“i missed you too, baby. do you mind if i stay the night? i…- uh. i bought some face masks too, so we can just relax a little before bed and cuddle?”

you squeeze out a little “yeah” in response, headbutting his forehead and putting your arm around him, with another still holding the roses carefully.

“i love you,” you say slightly louder, making sure that he hears it.

maybe, gifts don’t have to be practical all the time. maybe, it’s okay to put sentimental value into simple, useless things sometimes. make them mean something.

“i love you too, baby,” chris hums still a little confused, rubbing soothing circles into your lower back and planting a chaste kiss on the bridge of your nose.

you reach for his plump soft lips and press yours against them. and even though your tastebuds can feel the salt, it’s the sweetest kiss you two have shared so far.

Chris found making the box of Kraft macaroni and cheese to be relaxing. It was one of his foster siblings' favorites, and it was one of his, too, if he were honest. Which he was. When it was ready, he served up a portion of cheesy pasta along with a handful of chicken nuggets each. They could get vegetables some other time. "Alright, here we go, Sir!" he announced as he brought their dishes to the table. "Can I get you anything else before I sit down?"

President Donald Trump’s Department of Energy (DOE) has scrapped 24 taxpayer-funded green agenda projects totaling nearly $3.7 billion.

Many of the green energy grants were rushed through in the final days of the Biden administration.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced the decision Thursday.

Wright cited the need to “protect taxpayers” and redirect funds toward projects that actually serve America’s energy and national security interests.

“These awards were poorly vetted, financially shaky, and misaligned with our administration’s priorities,” Wright said.

“We are acting in the best interest of the American people.”

Among the terminated projects were massive grants for “carbon capture” and industrial “decarbonization” schemes.

The programs involve multinational corporations like ExxonMobil, Kraft Heinz, and Heidelberg Materials.

Hey I’ve recently seen your wild Kraft Apocalypse AU, and I am IN LOVE WITH IT!

I was wanting to know if you, or any of the characters for the AU, actually knew what caused this apocalypse in the first place??

It's all Zach's fault! 8D

He managed to trap Chris and Martin and take their creature power suits away from them, you see. His goal was to use the suits to deliberately malfunction them while an animal was wearing it, in the hopes of creating an obedient beast for him to use in his scheming.

Problem was, it malfunctioned terribly. The suits are meant to make humans have animal powers and are coded to human DNA and the human genome. Putting them onto a bear and a leopard made the animals not only get spliced with EVERY animal power and DNA that's ever been coded in the suits, but ALSO gave them human hyper-intelligence. Think of it as a combined intelligence of both the brothers.

You are left with two huge and hyper-intelligent hive-mind monsters gone rogue that are smart enough to realize they can do what they want and corrupted by Zach's tampering with the mechanics enough that they "inherit" his drive to do whatever they want, own whatever they want, and use whatever they want by whatever means possible. This is then compounded by their animal instinct to hunt. Oopsies! You're left with creatures that learn VERY quickly how to expand their mutation abilities and infect other animals into their hive collective. Think Zombie Apocalypse, but it only infects non-humans, leaving the humans left to try and fend off the beasts that want them DEAD. And these beasts are massive, powerful and intelligent enough to coordinate their efforts.

You can see why things hit the fan REALLY quickly and you can also see why Zach is SO desperate to undo what was essentially HIS fault. Martin and the others of his future died because he caused the apocalypse. He'd do ANYTHING to make it right. Convincing his younger self will be a fucking pain in the ass but it's worth it if it means he can prevent everything he caused.

Tbh I think you’re cooking with the voice headcanons. I’ve never heard Warriors or Legend’s voice described like that but like…yes, you’re correct

(also how would you describe the rest of the chain members’ voices? Now I’m kinda curious…)

THANK YOU, BECAUSE I FELT CRAZY TYPING THAT POST OUT. Here’s how the rest of the chain sounds in my head (im insane):

Time: Matthew Mercer specifically as Resident Evil 6 Leon Kennedy, but if his accent shifted somewhere between Welsh and the southern American accent, and usually ended up sounding like that transatlantic accent. The more time he spends away from the ranch and Malon the less the occasional really American sounding word slips in

Warriors: Joe Keery if he was British and had the same inflections and overall whiny dramatic way of speaking that Astarion from bg3 does. Like the same tone and pitch as Joe Keery (specifically as Steve from Stranger Things), but with Astarion’s sass, one liners, and overall cuntiness. (His real accent is NOT British to me, but he copies the ‘Castle Town Accent’ so usually, that is what he sounds like)

Twilight: Jeremy Jordan, but with a thick southern American accent. I mean near incomprehensible when he starts talking fast

Sky: Jordan Fisher, make him British, but make that British very weird in a way that makes it sound more like his native language is something far more ancient that came BEFORE British English

Hyrule: Ryan Potter, specifically as Hiro from Big Hero 6, but with a vaguely French sounding accent, almost as if that’s his native language but he hasn’t spoken it in a VERY long time and he can sound British for the most part but occasionally he says One Word and everyone stares at him like “???”

Legend: Chris Colfer from Glee but if he had the same raspiness to his voice that Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist does, and also if he were British (it’s a fake accent that Legend puts on, his real accent is a thick Irish one, but most of the time he speaks in a British accent)

Wild: Wild is weird because I have yet to come across a single person in any media I’ve consumed whose voice I’ve heard that’s made me go “That’s Wild.” So, to be even more insane, I’ll just describe what he sounds like. His voice isn’t necessarily very high, but it’s dropped as low as it’s going to and it’s very androgynous sounding. That being said, it’s hard to make out the actual tone and pitch of his voice some times because it sounds incredibly raspy and he can absolutely lose his voice if he talks for too long or screams too loud. If he takes proper care of it which he doesn’t always do it CAN sound more full and not as crackly, but there’s now always this element to it where it SOUNDS damaged. That doesn’t stop him from yapping, or singing, or screaming. It just makes Twilight roll his eyes at him while he makes him tea

Four: Zeno Robinson specifically as Hunter from The Owl House, but if Hunter was fighting to keep back a thick Boston accent every single day of his life. You piss Four off and that accent comes off as he starts angrily rambling at the others for improper sword care and they just sit there and stare at him blankly because they can barely understand a word he’s saying, he’s talking so fast. He sounds vaguely midwestern American when he’s trying to hide his accent

Wind: I’m not even close to original for this one and every time I see people talk about voice headcanons for the chain everyone says this for Wind, but Walker Scobell, though for me, SPECIFICALLY Kraft Mac and Cheese era Walker Scobell. And Wind’s accent is ALL over the place, he tends to pick up whatever the people around him sound like. Growing up his native language was the hyrule equivalent to Spanish, and then he was surrounded by a ton of Scottish people for a VERY long time so his ‘English’ (whatever language they speak in hyrule) became very Scottish sounding, but the more time he spends with the chain, the more he slowly starts to sound like a blend of all of them. So sometimes he’ll be talking and one word of his sentence will sound EXACTLY like the very unique way in which Time says something, or one word will sound like Sky. And his Scottish sounding (because it’s never been entirely Scottish) accent is slowly losing its strength as it starts to LITERALLY just become a blend of what the chain in general sounds like

And to an extent, the overall group accent does change a bit as they spend time together. Their individual accents, even if a lot of them are British, are all different because of the eras they’re from, but as they spend so much time together the accents start to blend a little and they sound more like each other. Of course if they were consciously thinking about how they sound while they speak they’d be able to talk exactly how they did before, and when they go back to their own eras the only one who’s going to sound noticeably different is probably Wind because his neurodivergent brain just copies whatever is around him and he’ll need time to adjust, but yeah

Those are my voice headcanons!! This is what they sound like in my brain when I’m writing/reading. I’m weird and this is insane, I’m aware aldkmdkd

My medicine is actually restoring my sense of smell, so I'm going to write down the smells because this is great

I've been working on this in the drafts because bad memory, and this seems like a good point to post it

Strawberry and Grape Soap- First thing I've smelt in years, I didn't know soaps actually smelt different. I thought it was a hoax made by big soap to sell more lotion and soap or something.

Mac and Cheese- I'm crying over Kraft rn. This is the best meal I've ever had

Bacon- I'M SORRY FOR SAYING THAT BACON IS OVERRATED I TAKE IT ALL BACK HOLY SHIT

Candles- I spent maybe an hour just smelling a bunch of candles (I was very excited), I now have over twenty send help /j

Coffee- this shit is ass, how do people drink this let alone sit in a coffee shop. I wanna vomit whenever I pass Starbucks.

Vanilla- not the best, can't see why people want this as their soap smell but it is good in the extract form

Lavender- favorite flower, they are all great but holy shit

Rose- brought back a memory of me and my brother at our local zoo, I didn't know smells could do that. My memory is getting better overall tbh.

Fall air- what the fuck why is the air different huh

Rain and grass- I THOUGHT YALL WERE LYING WHAT DO YOU MEAN GRASS AND RAIN HAS A SNIFF

Various fruits- mango, banana, peach, Lemon, and coconut are definitely some of my favorites. Peach is my favorite smell overall rn. It's surprising strong

Garlic bread- I'm crying. It's so nice and the smell makes it taste more somehow Jesus fucking Chris

The holiday smells- awesome, I love the pine at Christmas, peppermint is a bit overrated. Pumpkins smell weird, but not bad. Thanksgiving was a lot more overstimulating this year. The seasonal candles are also cool :)

Cookies- I need to bake more often, anything baked is actually a great smell, especially banana bread.

Cleaner- why do some of them smell like the fruit a child will eat this

Ocean- it's not good, still salty even if it's just the air. Why do people like this?

Those are the highlights so far I'll try to update when I smell more things purely because I will forget and this is fun.
