Im von Arbeitslosigkeit und Depression geplagten Liverpool der Thatcher-Jahre, aber in hinreißend postmodernen 80-er Jahre-Klamotten treffen zwei desillusionierte Arbeiterinnen auf zwei reizende russische Matrosen auf Landgang. Die Russen waren damals noch netter. Teresa (links) hat ihren Spaß, Elaine (rechts) hingegen findet die große Liebe, und bevor sie sich nicht wiedersehen können, schreibt sie einen Brief an Breschnew. Für knallharte Sozialkritik ist es ziemlich romantisch.
