i know most of us are on Alecto's side because of *gestures broadly* reasons but given
a) how tazmuir likes to recontextualize stuff
b) the OG lyctors were scared shitless of her (Augustine saying she was a mad monster in a human suit and John went and made her worse? like i know they were pissed off about the resurrection beast stuff but there has to have been more to it than that?)
c) in the poem (Christabel) that is Cristabel Oct's namesake there is a MYSTERIOUS BLONDE WOMAN who is NOT HUMAN and moves into the castle and BEWITCHES THE LORD and CASTS A SPELL ON CHRISTABEL SO SHE CAN'T WARN ANYONE
i just. sort of. you know. i wonder. if it means anything.
EDIT: Y'ALL KEEP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH
I NEVER SAID ALECTO GOING APESHIT WAS BAD
I NEVER SAID YOU COULDN'T WANT THAT FOR HER
I WAS JUST NOTING FOR MYSELF MOSTLY THAT OUR FIRST EXPOSURE TO HER AS SWEET NONA WAS MAYBE GOING TO BE SUBVERTED TO THE EXTREME
Forget Mercymorn’s pink/peach/strawberry blonde hair, there’s a lot of possible explanations there. What I want to know is how Christabel ended up with red eyes.
Another shot of me as Supergirl in Canary Wharf 🦸♀️ As with the other one I posted, there's no way anyone is going to believe I'm in a city in the US like I wanted, cos I'm posing in front of a sign which clearly says CANARY WHARF on it. I really must pay more attention to my surroundings 👀 This time I certainly don't look like I'm about to foil a crime. I'm just reclining in the middle of a square... as you do 😎 Oh and can I just mention again how chilly it was that day ❄️❄️❄️ Just look at how wrapped up some of the people behind me are and you'll get an idea. I guess Supergirl just shakes it off, but I was sure feeling it🥶 Watch this space for more of my cosplay pics 📷and other random stuff.
victorian vampire literature is so thematically rich. carmilla is about slowly warming up to a way of life that you used to think was disgusting. christabel is about the dangers that come with unguarded compassion. dracula is about finding a synthesis between "the new ways" and "the old ways" of the world in order to live as fully as possible. the giaour is about a man dying alone of racism poisoning.
The darkness consumes me and I allow it, free of any light I may have once had. Let them think they’ve won…but they have no idea of the monster they’ve created.
