I see a lot of people saying that doflamingo would eventually get out of jail for the final war or join the cross guild or just cuz crocodile did
But it would really make me mad if he did ? Oda made a whole drama about law having to wait 13 years and to end what cora couldn’t and he almost died doing it
i see no point of him coming back but im sure if oda wanted him he will make up a point
But What do you think?
Ah, I'm in two minds about this. If I dive deeply into the angst and what Law is worth, then yes, Doflamingo should stay behind bars. I thought the other day that a final reflection of how Law is not the same as Doflamingo is that he didn't kill him (although he tried, dammit! Haha). Part of growth in One Piece is being strong enough to face your (potential) adversaries too though, maybe?
Shanks vs Kaidou, Garp vs Roger (or Rocks?), Big Mom vs Kaidou, Whitebeard vs Oden, etc. Law and Kid just took down Big Mom, and Law fortunately escaped Blackbeard. Maybe he's strong enough to face Doflamingo now, but also maybe he doesn't want to (and maybe he's not).
Doflamingo still has a role to play, given his prison cameos, his pithy quotes, and the seraphim! He's often acted as the One Piece chorus in a Greek drama sense. I also like batshit crazy Doflamingo from a humorous perspective (like, following that other thread looping through One Piece), so part of me would like to see the chaos that he & the Cross Guild could try an make, especially given Doflamingo's words with Croc at Marineford, and the way the shichibukai were far from sane.
For him to get a government release would be some seriously evil shit. But for him to somehow escape would make things interesting. Oda redeemed Buggy, and Croc to a degree. So I don't see him beyond having a role for Doflamingo to play in the future. Sorry, nonny, I'd love to see him come back into the fray, but also definitely do not want a replay of Dressrosa or the events (Including 13 years before) leading up to it. If he's totally redeemed though, I'd be disappointed, but Oda can usually pull off semi-redemptions.
I haven't thought it through 100%, so my thoughts aren't set in stone!

7, 19, 52 for the fic writing ask thing 😊
Hi Nonnie, Let me track down that link again, heh-heh!
7. Post a snippet from a wip.
Nearly everything's under zine "NDAs"! 😁 But here's something that probably won't make it into an upcoming story: (This is an idea of Law and Kid having a detective agency, for some reason, and Kid needing to rid around on an old clunker of a bicycle, replete with a front and back basket).
Kid pedalled along the road, the gears of this thing sure needed some grease, but he had to give it to Bepo—it sure was sturdy. Kid had lost his licence, of course he had and Law was out meeting a client, and Kid had needed eggs for the cake he was baking // had to deliver a document, Killers 10 speed was on the road with Killer, so the Mama chari it was.
19. Do you enjoy creating OCs or do you prefer to stick solely to canon characters? I've created a few for the purposes of the story. Before I deeply knew canon, I've got 3 side characters who would be determined as OC in Repossession, and a psychologist who would be considered OC in Teaspoons. I just thought they were needed to make the story work. Nowadays, i tend to throw those characteristics on a pre-existing character, because I know canon better, and readers mostly seem to prefer it. I have an outsider's pov (marine and reporter) in a few stories, so I'm guessing they could be determined as OC too. 52. What’s the average word count of your fics?
I write long, medium, short and very short. Longest fic is 150,792 and shortest fic is 349 words (and I have a series of strict drabbles, too, so really 100 words). Total word count is 711,595 with 78 fics (that is not counting the one shots in a collection). Average is 9.123 words, but cos' I've been writing a lot of zine pieces lately, the one shots are probably about 1.5-6K words, depending on the word count and story. I don't have many fics that are actually 9K long. Heh-heh!

4 and 23 for the fic writing asks.
Thank you! Now I have to find the ask post. Haha. Kinda very haphazard at these things. Okay! Thank god I remembered I had an archive function!
How do you choose which fics to write? If I'm writing for myself, whatever tickles my fancy. It it's for a zine, event, or something similar, whatever the theme or prompt is.
Is writing the beginning, middle, or end of the story easiest? Hardest? All pretty much of a muchness. Sometimes the middle presents, sometimes the beginning, sometimes the end. Whichever gets the pen moving. Thing is, it might be the middle, but I might not know that until the story's got a bit more shape. Or I might know, and might not know why that scene is important, but it eventually shows where it slots in. Sometimes those early drafts are not the finished product at all! Thank you for the ask! I have a link in this post now, so easier for me to find. If anyone else wants to drop an ask or two, go for it! Am a bit busy, though, so might take a bit of time to answer.

I'm not really working on anything too much, and I'm gonna cheat and pop in a short exchange, cos I don't want to tag too many /too few people!

i’ve got a few picks for the fanfic writer asks if you’re up for it! totally up to you if you want to answer a few or all of them.
11, 58, 65, 71, 76, 91
thank you!! <3
Bepo's Fanfic Answers 3!
Thank you for dropping into Bepo's ask box! and your interest in my much acclaimed Bepo's Beptober!
It's so wonderful to get the recognition. No matter how many times I say NO GARCHU UNTIL YOU COMMENT the comments are few and far between (although, not as low as on Clione's fic, but he stole the idea from me, so that's fair, isn't it?!?). <-- That's called an Interrobang, or maybe the other way around, and No, Captain had to tell me, it doesn't mean sex between species...or in Wano prisons (*not a spoiler cos it's fiction!). Learn something new in Bepo fanfic world everyday! Now, onto your asks.

58. what is the last thing that a fic made you google when you were writing it?
How deep penguins can dive and for how long, say, if they were an Emperor Penguin (not that there are any Emperors on our crew—and maybe only two leaders, if we're being honest) and, some can dive to about 565m which is deeper than the Tang usually goes!
Some hold their breath for just shy of thirty minutes too! So, if you needed to catch a bird, say, for sustenance purposes, considering that some Minks that might resemble polar bears can only dive to about 13 metres at a stretch and only hold their breath for a minute or two, it's best to nab those kinds of meaty birds on the surface. Purely for research purposes.
XrTEPppp <-- Sorry! I drooled on the keyboard and was just wiping it away. (I'm thinking of venturing into the gore genre, but I don' t know, I think that BBC documentaries might've already covered it).
65. what is your favourite title for a fic you’ve written?
I don't really have a favourite but: Beptober Day 8: Mutual Mastication seemed to get a lot of attention! (Like cows do it, seems pretty common, and better than that regurgitation thing penguins have going on. But, y'know, different courses for different horses, I guess).
71. how do you balance writing and life? do you ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of writing you have to do? I find that if I get overwhelmed, I get the crew to drop me on some ice and I wait by a seal's breath hole, and I wait for them to poke their head through the ice, cute whiskers quivering, and, then, if I'm fast enough, I catch them and enjoy them à la sashimi style, but without the filleting and with all the fur. Crew tends to leave me alone for a while after that. My head's also wonderfully clear, and sometimes I can clack out 10,000 words without knocking over an ink pot once, or accidentally unplugging the word processor.
76. what is one essential thing to remember when writing a villain?
That they wear pink feathered coats.
OR, y'know, have bright red hair.
91. how has your writing style changed over the years?
I think I might be one of a kind and I'm thinking of patenting the Bepo Brand™
If you want to check out my previous answer, it's here! and here! and here!

tagged by @afterdeck-ace Thank you!
Rules: Post the last sentence you wrote (fanfic / original / anything) and tag as many people as there are words in the sentence.
Black Maria did not suit a mini, or perhaps she was very suited to a mini—Morris Minor, that is.
Okay, I won't tag that many people, cos I can't think of them at the moment, but how about @cyborg-franky @anarchycox @purplehairedwonder, @escapaldi

for the ao3 writers wrapped, 6, 16, and 22!
Thank you!
End of year wrap up for writers.
6. Favorite title you used: Maybe Forty-Two Superior Teeth. It's a piece I did for the free (and still available) Growing Pains Zine (the one piece characters when they were kids). Polar bears have 42 teeth, and Bepo knows it! (That was a piece about Law, Bepo, Penguin and Shachi on Swallow Island).
16. What's your most common "additional tags" tag?
I didn't write so much this year, but maybe always some variation of 'canon divergence'. I do have a 'national geographic hearts' or equivalent tag.
22. Which work has the most comments?
I'll take this as comment threads. That way it excludes my replies. It seems that I updated a one shot collection: Bepo's Drabble and One Shot Collection, and that has 15 chapters and 16 comment threads, but none on the drabble I posted (all the other chapters were posted 2019).
Heart PIrates Week, 2023 has 9 chapters (they're drabbles/ficlets. Don't get your hopes up :D!) and so 15 comment threads.
Taxi, which is actually a 2018-2019 story, but I re-uploaded a missing chapter last year, has 14 comment threads, and I actually uploaded that missing chapter due to some lovely comments I received this year.
For one shots, Bioluminescent Hearts is the top with 9 comment threads.
Thank you so much.

For the fanfic ask:
4. what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?
8. what’s your relationship with constructive criticism and feedback like? do you seek it out? how well do you take it?
47. what story are you most proud of?
91. how has your writing style changed over the years?
Bepo Fanfic Asks 5

(Bepo's officially hanging up his author's hat after this ask! Thanks for all the fan mail. It's made his heart implode ❤️)
4. what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?
Ooh, it's just as well that Carrot didn't stow away with us. As a fellow-Mink, of course, I would've looked after her, but I think that the trip to Wano gave Captain a breather away from chaos for just a second (although Usopp and Ikkaku using the corridors to practice their curling skills during daily clean-up gave Mugiwara a run for his money. Those hallways are narrow and noise carries!).
As for why Carrot didn't ride with us (I'm guessing that's what existential means --> like she exited and existed on another ship -->). Really, there was no dread involved about any bunnies whatsoever. That was reserved for Mugiwara, and as said, we all had a chance to rest easy if but for a second.
8. what’s your relationship with constructive criticism and feedback like? do you seek it out? how well do you take it?
We're a crew of 20 (+1) and I expect 20 Hearts to heart any heartfelt effort. Captain's always first of course. Don't tell anyone, but his pen name is Sturgeon-of-Depth. Then Adélie, toothy-grin, masked-gander, Jan-Baert, angel_3.14, gonadlier and the rest. Radish is always next to last, same as Massaker-Soldja.
Feedback, if it's honest, like:
You're Your depiction of yourself as me has moved me to tears
is treasured. But if it's just jealousy pretending to be helpful, like:
Plz don't leave A/N in middle of fic. Distracting.
I just delete it. When Clione angel_3.14, Shachi Radish, and Killer Massaker-Solja get as many hits as I do then they can come to my table and we'll discuss things as fellow scribes. Until then, maybe they could pick up some hints by studying my fics to help with their own stats? Although I can't see that any of them would do very well at role reversal Captain.
I think questions 47 and 91 are answered in instalments 3 or 4 (or topics very similar to them!). Thank you for the ask!

wait this is so cute; i have a few questions for the fanfic writer asks too if you don’t mind:
1, 2, 7, 43, 63, & 74
thank you so much 🧡
Bepo's Fanfic Asks 4!

1 do you know how you want the story to end when you start, or are you just stumbling through the figurative wilderness hoping to find a road?
Who do you take me for? Roronona Zoro? (Heh-heh, li'l pirate joke there).
There's a request jar in the mess and the crew fills it. For example, Ikkaku always asks for something where the mechanics aren't showing and that the story runs seamlessly. But what's she talking about?! She's great with cogs and wheels, so I make sure she features, and Jean Bart and the rest of the crew, including Captain, are handy with needles, so no mechanic or seamster erasure in my fics!
And I'm a navigator, thank you, no stumbling around hoping to find roads. It's my duty to know exactly where we're going 🧭
2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”
See above. But I've got some strange requests on the platforms I upload to sometimes.

7. tell us about the plot of the first fanfic you ever wrote
Ooh, well, it was a role reversal as part of Bepo's Beptober, and it involved brave Captain Bepo and his adoring underling, Navigator Trafalgar Law. It was a huge hit!. You can read it here, and part 2 is here!
43. how did writing change you?
I was able to step into my natural role as an Apex predator and govern and steer the ship ferociously, but fairly for the sake of fan fiction.
I'm also sure I'll be able to process some trauma through it, given what we've all gone through. I think that's quite the thing now!
63. What’s the best insult you’ve read in a fic?
"You're nothing but a bottom feeder."
This was in my own fic and was levelled at Uni (who was cleverly depicted and disguised by a character named Unicycle in one of my fics.) Of course this is technically true, sea urchins are bottom feeders, but it still got me kicked off that site for a while when someone whom I suspect to be SHACHI or KILLER reported me. I don't really understand Lesser Minks.
74. are you a planner, pantser, or planster?
Ever since we lived with Wolf on Swallow Island (Captain, Shachi, Penguin and I) I've worn pants. It might seem strange for a Polar Bear, but not for a Mink. I also find it helps me fit in and stops myself from burning myself on the pipes in the sub.

If you want to check out my previous answer, it's here! and here! and here!
(Bepo might hang up his fictional hat now. Thanks for the asks!)

🥺🛒🎢
Holding you responsible if I don't get my PPT finished. Ahahahaha.
🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?
Safety after scarring, I guess. Recovery after trauma. Understanding your partner's/friend's/captain's trauma so well that you know when to sit quietly (or not) and be there. (Law x fics; especially MarLaw in my case, and a little bit of ZoLaw; my KidLaw is usually pre- to fairly new relationship). Everyone's a survivor. Some bastards die.
OR the support and understanding of shared backgrounds (Robin and Law—including morbid humour), and Zoro and Law have a good Swordbro relationship in longer fics (understanding and respect between friends) or Hard Ass Grumpy Doctor Who Would Die For A Bear And A Tanuki. Self-indulgent shit 😁
🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
Misuse of power, fear, resilience, humour, Law, Luffy, Marco and Robin being the worst kind of public transport possible. Robin and Zoro being good Law friends. All members (including Luffy and Zoro) having dogs (Law talked them all into getting rescue dogs). Law having kitschy hobbies beyond coin collecting, and Robin fully being there for him (he collects tea towels and teaspoons as well). If Cora lives in a modern AU he's definitely got some substance abuse problems due to the trauma and injuries. Law not wanting to kill himself? (though he has felt that he has wanted to at times).
🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride? (These emojis are very cute).
All of the dark ones. I definitely should've held back on every single one.
Thank you for the ask! ✅ 🍦😈🤭 🎉 🤡🍆 🧐❌🥰🥺🛒🎢 answered. And I'd love to chat more, but ask box for this meme is currently closed (or you can drop an ask, but I won't answer it until maybe Sunday evening [33 minutes away from Saturday here].

The idea of having Law sephiem as well as a Blackbeard one or even heck an Ace one is so thought provoking; mainly due to the fact that they are all members of the D clan. And what if because of that any attempts to create one will just result in failure due to the D clan being "enemies of the gods".
Thank you for the ask! This ask is in relation to this post about what would happen if the government did create a seraphim of Law (or the other later warlords, or captives). A great question and musings. I've answered them in conjunction with some other thoughts with a reblog of the original post (same link as above).
Great food for thought!

Bepo's fanfic answers 2

@cal-cium-the-nerd thank you for asking me about my writing process. It's hard holding the crew together and being a creative genius, but I try my best.
11. What's something neat you've learned by doing research for something you were writing? Also, do you worry much about doing research in general.
Orcas regard themselves as the top Apex Predator. I mean, c'mon. Have you seen Shachi?
I had to research why Lesser Minks are so caught up with knots and kinks and so on while doing Bepo's Beptober. I mean, everyone gets sore muscles and creaky bones, but you scratch those itches the problems usually subside. But, no, Lesser Minks have to write about it.
I can't really complain. Completing Bepo's Beptober for Captain did kickstart my fanfic career and you wouldn't believe the number of private bookmarks!
17. Favourite line: This is from chapter 3 of Bepo's Beptober:
The radishette complained, grumbled and his face went as red as the radish his hair was so cleverly named after, but it was fair. When all the genders in the world flocked after Captain Bepo and Seaman Trafalgar it would make the HEART PIRATES name shine like it was caught in a Broadway-billboard-movie-sign-thingy forever. A clean toilet was a must for all the guests. They weren't the Kid Irates.
I got a comment on that fic and I was sure it was from Killer! He wrote that IBS was no laughing matter and that fibre made the man, not cute uniforms. He included a bunch of hockey mask icons. I wasn't sure what he meant, but he's right. IBS is no laughing matter, so I key smashed a bunch of scythes in reply and almost got banned from that site for being pro-communist. Don't ask me what that was about.
If you want to check out my previous answer, it's here! 6, 11 & 17 answered! Other asks answered here and here!
Still to answer 58, 65, 71, 76, 91. Do you think that Cavendish feels this way all the time?

Hi!! <3 For the ask game: 6. do you have any kind of consistent writing schedule or just hoping for the best? and 11. what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general? and lastly, 17. what is your favorite line you’ve ever written?
Bepo from Bepo's Beptober here (the world famous navigator fanfic writer)!
6. do you have any kind of consistent writing schedule or just hoping for the best?
Captain said I was allowed to have 14:00-16:00 on Saturday afternoons as long as we're not in the middle of a medical procedure or battle.
It can be transferred to other times and, of course, sometimes the muse takes you when you're fleeing battle and you just have to use a mental semaphore to jot down the key points of your next masterpiece. I click my claws together as a tactile memory thingy, and it drives Uni crazy. (Clione figured it out though, and I think he's posting his own fic under the user name "nematode" using my ideas).
Captain said I could have that time too (like, no-one, no-one is allowed to interrupt me while the ink nib is in my hand on Saturday afternoons. Even Shachi and Ikkaku have to tone down the clicking and weird cetacean noises as they bounce around the sub), but I digress, Captain said I could have that time too if I promised not to put him in fictionally compromising positions, and we all know that Captain could do with compromising a little more, right? So even though there's a promise in that word, I had my fingers crossed (even my nails) behind my back when I agreed :D

Seal pups! Got ink all over the table. I'll answer the others separately!
(Just so you know how much more popular than Clione I am at this game, I still have to answer 11, 17, 58, 65, 71, 76, 91 . That's what you get for not having too many ideas knocking around your ganglia!)
(But maybe I could outsource them...Damn, ink on my muzzle now)

🧐❌🥰
Thank you so much for putting the hard yards in on inbox asks!
🧐 Do you spend much time researching for your stories?
Yeah, a fair amount. I've got a LawZo I'm writing. A kinda dark hanahaki. Law's flower is the corpse flower, and Zoro's was going to be toxic algae, but then I found out that marimo is actually algae, not moss, even though it's name apparently means moss (and it's not toxic), and then I went down the mythology pathway and, and, and...I'd already done a fair bit on the corpse flower before. But not massively, but quite a bit, y'know? Like, I think that professionals in whatever field I'm trampling over would be able to tell that I was bullshitting!
❌ What's a trope you will never write?
You know, I never thought I'd write hanahaki and what have you 👆 . But it's not published (or even anywhere near finished yet). Once upon a time I said I'd never write Omegaverse, but, well.... I'm not really keen on soulmates, but a friend and writer I admire a lot wrote one from a prompt, and it's great!, and I thought, yeah, you can write whatever trope you want in a way that suits you and the characters, I think. (However, I'm still not great with arranged marriages, or royalty AUs. I don't really write high fantasy, etc. either).
🥰 How do you feel about reader interaction? Are you open to receiving questions about your fics?
I love it! It's fine. Of course, if it was a multi-chap and on the go, answers might be vague to deflect or avoid spoilers. Polite interaction, natch.
Thank you so much for the ask! ! ✅ 🍦😈🤭 🎉 🤡🍆 🧐❌🥰 answered!
Goodnight All! (would love to answer more, but gotta wrap things up for tomorrow!).

They're so bright and pretty! Hello, lovely giraffe 🦒
🎈describe your style as a writer; is it fixed? does it change?
Okay, I'll double-barrel here: I think that if you ever came across anything anon that I might have written, you'd pretty quickly know it was me, or have an inkling, because I don't do much to hide my style. Most I write past tense, but there are a few present tense stories among those I've uploaded, and that's always a different way of reading and writing. Gotta stay on your toes, and really keep your tenses all lined up with present tense. Bepo's got his own particular voice (he writes fanfiction), and I've written drabbles in first person before (can't remember whose 1st person though!). Writing Doffy is always a ball of fun, and very different from writing Law, etc. I like the News Coo reports in Overlooked and Underpaid (Chopper and Bepo strike for higher bounties), and I also used both a news report chapter, and an autopsy report in A few drops of holy cuckold (very dark fic, so no link), so it was fun to get the right tone. I've got a few outsider perspectives too, and the outsider is say a marine in G5, in Punk Hazrd, or the reporter in Cuckold, and I think I write them well enough to keep the attention on the canon characters without them seeming to be random narrative devices. I think I can be brutal, sweet, funny, etc. but I don't know that that involves a change in writing style. I hope that it changes to match the premise and people, and that I occasionally shake myself up (had a poem that somehow did okay in terms of interaction! That one was a total surprise).
💥find your least kudos'd fic - say something wonderful about it.
Aw, this is kinda unfair, cos I just uploaded the other day. However, it is an excerpt from a longer piece, and has Law, Aokiji, and Bleat the goat (Sengoku's goat) all going for a bicycle ride along an Aokiji-frozen river, so I don't think it's gonna have the readers charging in with their kudos and hits! So, here it is: Riding Along on my Pushbike, Honey (You Look so Pretty) 79 hits, 5 kudos, 1 bookmark 🐐 🚲 🐯
🎀give yourself a compliment about your own writing
I get the job done.
I like reading what I've written when I have the final, final, final (to infinity) draft.
Thank you for the ask!
I've answered ✨ 💫 , 🤲 , 🌈 , ☯️ , 🎈💥 🎀 The ask is here if anyone else wants to ask!

✅️🤭& tada (my phone apparently can't make that one???)
✅️ is answered here!
🤭Do you have a favorite tag to use when posting your works?
Not really. Law? Trafalgar D. Water Law? Haha. I do tag chromafic, chromafics, chromalami on tumblr, just in case anyone is searching, or they want to filter out. 'Angst & Humour," "Attempt at Humour," "Hurt & Comfort," and it's poor cousin, "Hurt no comfort." "Mind the tags." etc. "Dead dove do not eat," as in, could traumatise for sure, on some of the dark stuff.
🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?
That's a good question. I think I can let anxiety rest when I get at least one comment. But having started with long fics, I know there is often chapter after chapter after chapter with no comments, so for self-care, a wider form of gauging success is needed. Like, folks often say a ratio of 10% kudos to hits is good, but if you look at most fanfic, the range is about 3-5%, and on multi-chapters, the kudos ratio rate will generally be lower, even if it looks higher. You have to be aware of what you're writing too (rare pair, gen, smut, no smut, etc.)
So, once I've fought past my self-destructive urge to slash and burn, hits, for one, can gauge success (I know not everyone counts them, but you can have a dark fic with a ton of hits, and not many kudos or comments in proportion, but you know folks are reading due to the private bookmarks and hits), public bookmarks (private ones count too, but you can't really know why someone bookmarked. You can't with public either, unless the book-marker leaves some notes, but you know it means something to someone).
At the same time, I've had fics with 70 hits or so, and 1 or 2 kudos, if that, and I've taken them down, cos they're obviously not vibing with readers. Ultimately, I guess, if I still like it when I come back to read it. And if it meant something to someone it's successful. I have some fics up that I might've pulled down by now because they could do with an overhaul, or maybe they are far too indulgent, but comments, bookmarks, etc. let me know they do mean something to some, so they remain up.
Extrinsic validation can be a successful public reception, but the way I feel about the fic is probably more important in the long run. (Convoluted answer, sorry!)
Thank you for the ask! ✅ 🍦😈 🤭 🎉 answered.
If you want to ask, the list is here, and I might even let Bepo do a bit of fic ask answers moonlighting!
