So apparently I hate myself.

I learned that there is a Gold Mario you can unlock on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe by receiving a gold trophy in all the 12 base cups at 200cc.

Now, my happy ass, having not achieved a golden trophy in 150cc decides "sounds like fun! I'm sure this couldn't possibly make me feel a disproportionate amount of rage to funi pixel car racing game!"

It can. Very much so.

To prove my point I'm firing up the notes app and cataloging my thoughts as I play each of these cups. Here ya go, cup 1 (also it starts off weird but only because i started after clearing attenpt 1):

I'm reading The Vampire Chronicles right now and I need you who haven't read these books to know, there is a scene in book 5 where Lestat eats period blood, full on Saltburn style, and Armand is there watching it happen (and so is another character you don't know yet), oh and during all this Lestat is also freshly missing an eye (which he lost in actual Hell in a struggle against the Devil) oh and the woman he's eating out is a televangelist who knows Lestat killed her father but is cool with it and this is all played 100% seriously

city of heavenly fire is the tsc book if you think about it like it's so good. ended tmi with such a bang that it evaluated the series to new heights. wrapped up a six book series while setting up the next one, and on top of that incorporated the prequel and managed to do all three well. literally so many iconic and funny moments come from this book. also ended on a really hopeful note with the found family reuniting and being together after everything like 10/10. truly the cornerstone of this fandom.
