This is a very experimental style that I've never used before, so I'd like to know what everyone thinks of it. I wanted something that encompassed the eeriness of the show itself, and I think I managed to get it!
Quidam is such a beautiful show! It somehow manages to make something really eerie and unsettling that's also wondrous and fantastic!
And the titular character, Quidam, caught my eye immediately! It's fascinating how they can give a character with no face so much personality. I guess it helps that he's taller than any of the other characters, so his presence is always strongly felt.
I don't often draw humans because I just can't get the faces to look right. I clearly didn't have that problem with Quidam, though! 😅
If I'm able to figure out faces, I'd love to draw Target next.
Varekai is my favorite Cirque show and Icarus is my favorite character. The scene where he falls from the heavens is utterly mesmerizing. I love it and i'm really proud of how this piece turned out.
Corteo was such a beautiful show! Here are the two art pieces that I gifted the clowns! The latter I got to PERSONALLY HAND TO VALENTYNA DURING HER HELIUM DANCE!!! I have hit my Cirque magnum opus
Over a month without posting anything... September has been quite a hard month. We had the intention to open quick commissions (which ngl, we need to do) but we've gone through so much that we just lacked the energy to even grab a pencil. But life (and the show) must go on, so we're slowly getting back to work.
No WhateverChallengetober this year, we're taking it as easy as we can, so we're just finishing some stuff we already had around.
So here's one of our fav characters from Cirque du Soleil's Kooza, The Trickster. This was supposed to be a quick sketch, but it would not be us if we didn't get carried away... 😅
Alegria is one of the most whimsical shows ever and it is one of my most favorite Cirque shows of all times. I am so proud of how this picture turned out.
Here’s a piece I did for KÁ! I got to see it on an automation training grounds trip through Cirque and USITT! (Details of which can be found on my Instagram @_acethetics_cirque_ ) Featuring the Imperial Twins on their dual journies
Huevember turned into Huecember this year... Started this project in November, fell off for several weeks with no motivation, then picked it up again in December and powered through to finish it off.
I'm so glad I did, because look at the results! So many characters I'd never drawn before and they all turned out super well.
