Watching 03 for the first time and Mikey is currently my favorite (I love the show so far btw, it honestly might tie with rise to be my favorite rn)

But I just saw clash of the turtle titans and wow that episode was kinda hard to sit through

Personally it might be my least favorite 03 episode, but I was curious on your thoughts and opinions of this ep

oh my god, yeah. clash of the turtle titans is… something.

i remember watching it for the first time (i watched fast forward before seasons 1-5) and since i didn’t fully understand all the character development that he went through, it was fine? played him off to be a total jerk but by then he was already my fav so i was just cringing through his tantrum.

but AFTER seeing him go through all that character development - it does feel out of character. i mean, i can understand him being jealous and feeling ripped off, but the mikey we’ve seen in the past five seasons has gone through a LOT and has reacted more maturely in worse circumstances. it feels like regression AND an amplification of his worst qualities for the writers to have him act like that.

and yea, people regress and have bad days. another straw will break the camel’s back.

but it’s not played off to be that way, which is probably what bugs me the most. by all accounts, mikey has been having a blast in 2105 - walking around without hiding, all the new tech and video games to explore, new foods from different planets to try. they don’t show him having a hard time like raph, so him getting bent up over Turtle Titan II just feels very forced.

i could easily come up with an explanation based on my own headcanons and thoughts, but if the writers themselves didn’t actually put it in canon, it’s still just speculation. which means mikey was just being a brat that day.

i know they went through a change in writers and animators with seasons 6 and 7 but they didn’t have to do my boy so dirty 😭

Clash of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans will be released together on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on August 13 via Arrow Video. Joe Wilson designed the new artwork for the set, dubbed "When Titans Ruled the Earth."

A remake of the 1981 fantasy classic, 2010's Clash of the Titans is directed by Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me, The Incredible Hulk) and written by Phil Hay & Matt Manfredi (R.I.P.D., The Invitation) and Travis Beacham (Pacific Rim). Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Mads Mikkelsen, Alexa Davalos, Ralph Fiennes, and Liam Neeson star.

Its 2012 sequel, Wrath of the Titans, is directed by Jonathan Liebesman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2, Orphan) and Dan Mazeau (Fast X, Damsel). How did Jotaro come into Leo and Usagi's lives?

Story time, because I told you how, but not actually HOW. ( Here expanding the first option I told you about in here: 千 - 2nd idea - comic )

A few months away from Usagi and Leo's couple's anniversary, the Baron found himself in quite a predicament... He still didn't have a suitable gift.

Over the decade he had been a part of the turtles' lives. Even though he had already made peace and got along quite well with most of his creatures or.... Sons. He still struggled to find any connection with Leo. He didn't blame him, I mean.... The Yokai literally dropped him off a building when he was 15....

Perhaps most of their estrangement was due to the clash of their personalities, tho. Draxum knew well that of all of them, the one in the blue bandana was the most like Lou. With his particular sense of humor, and a way of processing things that, even if he detested on many occasions because it got them into titanic trouble, he had to admit that it was one of the best qualities that the turtle boy could have inherited from his rat father.

Still, everything seemed to indicate that no matter how much they interacted, Draxum would never be able to do anything remarkable enough to cement the bond between the two. Perhaps if there was an intermediary, something else that could act as a bridge.

That's where the Baron had the most brilliant idea.

"You want to do what!?" The purple clothed turtle almost fell out of his chair as soon as he heard what he thought must be the craziest idea of the century. Leaving the circuit he was working on on the table, Donnie put the googles he always carried back on his head, and took a deep breath before turning in his chair to look at the other straight in the eye. "Barry, my dear father figure by aggregation... HAve YoU lOsT yOUr miND!?!

"Your theatrics won't change my mind, Donatello." With an imperturbable gesture to confront Von Ryan's usual outbursts, Draxum continued to collect some of the materials he would need from the laboratory they sometimes shared. "Are you with me, or against me?"

Resigned to not being able to reason with his fellow scientist, Donnie put a hand to his temple. "... You can't ask me a question like that." He was conflicted. On one hand, he could explore the possibilities that the Imperium had at a genetic level. A subject that had always interested him since he discovered the truth behind his and his brothers birth. On the other hand, Leo was his brother, and he care about him (even if he would never admit it). Also, Usagi had ranked among one of his best friends over the years.

Science or civic/sibling duty? That was the question... Rather simple answer may I say.

"mnnnn----agh!!! You know what!? Ok, I'll do it!!!!" And with a handshake and complicit smiles, they got to work.

Obtaining DNA from the rabbit was simple. The fur abounded in the sewer when they were on hot weather waves.

Leonardo's, however, was more difficult. The tortoise did not sweat unless there was an extreme temperature, and obtaining scales with his exhaustive skin care routine had been an Odyssey.

Soon both scientists realized that the genetic material was not enough, and they needed something more substantial to complete the data. Like... Blood.

However, it was obvious they couldn't go and tell the guys to give them a couple of samples without sounding suspicious. They would have to wait for the situation to play itself out.

It was a disastrous day when it finally happened.

The battle had been tougher than they had thought. The boys came back from it with burns, cuts and pronounced bruises. Leo, for his part, was bleeding from one of his arms. Usagi had a wound on his left side.

While Draxum attended them in the medical bay, he decided to take the opportunity. Using the excuse of running a couple of tests, he placed some of his son's and his partner's blood in a test tube before finish bandaging them. No one questioned him.

That same night he began his actual experiment. Donnie, of course, could not help him with the rest of the research. He was in bed with everyone else. But that would not prevent the great warrior alchemist from achieving his goal.

Those were difficult months for everyone. Gladly, they made it through without too many setbacks. But, one question lingered: Where the hell was Draxum?

No one had seen any sign of the goat Yokai anywhere in weeks. Mikey and Donnie searched for him in their lab and around Hidden City. April went to see him in the cafeteria, but was told that Barry had asked for an early vacation. For a moment they considered the possibility that the Baron had been kidnapped by Big Mama or something. The spider lady made it very clear to them that this had not been the case by kicking them out of her hotel when they burst in demanding Barry's release.

It was a great surprise for everyone when they returned to the sewer just to find Draxum right there, muttering while struggling with something in his arms. Leo was the first to call out to the Baron, not expecting that as soon as he was a few steps away from the goat, he would get something right in his hands.

"Wha-!?"

"Finally! It's all yours. He eats at 8, 2 and 5 o'clock, and takes 2 hour naps every afternoon." Without understanding, Leo looks at what he has in his hands and almost let go of it when he realized he was alive, he has fur and he was looking at him.

"Be careful!" Usagi stepped in when he noticed the turlte almost dropped the little being.

"Draxum, what does this mean?!"

"Calm down rat, you can ask Donatello for the details." Donnie, who was already somewhat prepared for this scenario, put a thumbs up with a stoic expression while he was fulminated by everyone's dumbfounded stares. Drax grabbed Leo's shoulder to get his attention again and spoke slowly, "No guarantees, no refunds." And then patted his green head.

Something I really like about Fast Forward is that it's doing a bit and you know it's doing a bit, just not the one you may think.

At first, it tells you that this is the world to come after the Shredder(s) has been defeated and all evil has been banished:

But then it does a backflip and goes "ACTUALLY, this is what happens when Bishop is left unsupervised for fifty years!"

Which is the funniest thing they could ever do.

I admit I wasn't entirely sold on the president thing at first. Bishop is so unapologetically a piece of shit up to his appearance in FF that it just can't be, right? But then the show goes on to introduce more details about this supposed bright future and it starts to really sink in that it actually has Bishop written all over it.

As much as I love the idea of Bishop finally going to therapy, what's really implied is that one day he stopped trying to create the perfect genetic abomination and started to study vertical urbanization. New New York exists on multiple levels, all resting on the old city, with different lanes for hovercars and basically several mini atmospheres. Unless common people were suddenly perfectly fine with aliens showing up to reshape everybody's homes, someone who already had experience with alien technology had to be involved.

This is also probably one of the last major operations of the EPF as such before it was converted in, I guess, the first elite security force for the PGA. It's a shame they had to start dressing like mini Megatrons, but they had to curate their PR like the soon to be president. From this point onward, Bishop probably had a saying in just about everything else. He sponsored the alliance and probably suggested androids should be allowed to vote at some point. As he had come to believe that dialogue was an option, he definitely pushed to sell the idea that welcoming aliens was the way into the new utopia in ways his old self would have never dreamed of.

Logistics aside, it’s clear that Bishop has worked to make himself a central piece (pun intended) of this new system which is definitely an improvement, as he won’t make his fear of total annihilation everybody else's problem anymore, but it's also much worse than it was before.

And this is where not even rocking a dress will hide that he's still the same old bastard at heart. Yes, he's the president and he's very popular. But he's still the guy who complimented the Slayer's looks too and his ego hasn't vanished overnight. It's safe to say the president of the PGA would have the power to avoid having his name being put on the goddamn Moon but no, he's definitely gloated about Moonbase Bishop more than once.

Which brings me back to this damn statue again.

This is not healthy.

And a little surprising. I mean, I get the joke. This is the Prometheus statue that's at that one ice skating rink in New York but it's Bishop at the zero gravity rink. It's also funny in contest considering Prometheus is one of the Titans in Greek mythology and it's featured in the episode Clash of the Turtle Titans and I love that Bishop has supposedly sworn off violence and isn't playing preferences but still managed to suplex a guy in spirit.

But still, Atlas would have been more appropriate. Bishop is absolutely convinced that he's the PGA the way he was EPF. It would be more fitting, but I understand the world just isn't ready for the President's bare chest.

Media origin: Mikey’s phrase is a parody on what is well known as Superman’s motto, “Truth, Justice, and the American Way.” The phrasing originated from a Superman radio series released in the 1940s during WWII. After the war, the “American Way” was dropped, then brought back in the 1950s Adventures of Superman TV series and dropped again. It was used again and finally popularized by Superman: The Movie (1978) starring Christopher Reeve.

I just rewatched AtLA and Sozin's comet is the fucking shit.

We have the last agnikai, the most emotional fight in the whole series, with a flying maniac who shoots lightning and blue flame, and the fighting engulfs almost half of the city in fire.

We have the liberation of Ba Sing Se, where we see the mentors at their strongest, Bumi throws the statue of liberty off a cliff, Jeong Jeong becomes the Arch-angel Michael and uses flame waves to take out tanks, and Iroh blows up the wall of Ba Sing Se with more fire.

We have sokka, toph, and suki working together to down the fire nation airships, with great metal bending from toph, and swordsmanship from sokka.

Then last but not least, we have The Avatar VS The Phoenix King, a clash of titans upon which the fate of the world rests. A truly grandiose battle for the centuries. (although the dragon-turtle was a bit of a Deus ex machina)

I love every hour and a half of that episode.

VS. Red at the Ossuary

This place was full of absolutely intoxicated people battling their souls out in the most aggressive display of power she’d ever seen. Brought here by a Duskull, she wasn’t expecting a battle that felt like her life was on the line. Several of the ones shes had this day made her more bored then anything, smaller time trainers that she battled specifically to see who bought who a drink.

They’re Kantonian trainers, so they weren’t the WORST trainers she’s ever faced, but they had her craving more- and thats when Red finally tapped her on the shoulder and drew her back to the stadium.

Pleasantly buzzed, she eagerly accepted, and the next thing she knew, sparks were flying in a way that made her heart race like never before.

Gremlins out first, time to go.

She’s locked in a strategy with her team by now, Gremlins not meant to exist on the battlefield for very long, he’s there to set up a Tailwind, maybe inflict some poison, and then get out. Red leads with Pikachu, though, and Gremlin CACKLES as the mouse calls the rain and cracks the sky, its like a miniature hurricane in the Ossuary now, and the Gliscor takes full advantage of his ability to glide and fly through thunderstorms with nary a care in the world. He sees Pikachu come flying to throw him into submission, and instead grabs the mouse and rolls backwards with the momentum, dropping him with a hard toss to the ground, chasing him down and striking him with his tail several times before sinking his fangs into the Pikachus neck, and now that he’s grounded, striking with a powerful Earthquake while he’s got him pinned. Its quick work, and then they’re called back.

Next, Fafnír and Blastoise, a very clear disadvantage, but Fafnír is completely undaunted, feeling a strong connection with the ghostly terrain and roaring with a fierce and unusual look in his eye. Blastoise smashes his shell, and the two titans are now almost evenly matched in speed and strength, clashing with fang and claw before Fafnír tanks a Hydro pump, dropping rocks on Blastoise in a Rock Slide and causing him to flinch before rushing in to tackle the turtle to the ground with a high powered Crunch. It’s quick work, and now theres a Sandstorm and a Tailwind up, the tides are in their favor.

Two down.

Kamina and Charizard now, the little moles got a ton of speed behind him between the Tailwind and Sandstorm, but its not nearly enough for the tiny mole to take on the gargantuan dragon. He’s slapped, shoved and bathed in flame, dropping where he stood, the speed not even close enough to matter.

Adniels out next against Baba, Reds Venusaur, the usually gentle frog finding herself on the wrong end of Adniel in a delighted battle high frenzy. Her powders seem to do nothing while the winds heavily blowing. The dragon and his trainer are in almost perfect sync, their movements mirroring one another as they both roll to the side, and Rika calls for Iron head, Adniel barrleing right into Baba in a strong headbutt to destabilize her before she’s Dragon Clawed in a powerful uppercut and sent toppling. The Garchomp lets out a roar of triumph- He’d finally gotten a win against this team, and he couldn’t be more excited.

Three down-

She’s never felt this in sync with her team before.

The Don hits the field in a flurry of scarlet lightning, Roadblock his opponent, and neither trainer wastes any time, Rika practically roaring and calling for Close combat. The Snorlax puts up an incredible resilience as he grabs Dons tusks, but the primal energy pumping through Dons veins manages to let him overpower the giant, almost burying him in a Headlong Rush.

Four-

Thats a Win-

Bappy comes out against Lapras regardless- They could stop now and it would be fine, but one last battle- and The Clodsire gets a lucky Toxic off as Lapras lashes out with an Ice beam, and it HURTS, but he shrugs it off, protecting another Ice beam before digging his barbs into Lapras’ skin and finishing the job.

The dust settles as the Clodsire stands victorious on the field, and Rika can be seen counting on her fingers over and over again in sheer disbelief.

She beat him 5 to 1.

She clenches her fist, tears stinging the edge of her vision- Not out of sadness, but out of absolutely unbridled joy and pride. Her team did so incredibly well, and she genuinely couldn’t believe that just happened… She’s only brought back to reality when the match is finally called by the referee, and Red suddenly scoops her up in a tight hug, to which she laughs and wraps both arms around his head, pressing their foreheads together.
