In 2023, I did a project called DIFFUSION where I took three (or six, rather) of the fused ghouls and reinterpreted their monster blends as a single original character concept through doll restyles. Dracubecca became Tinny Tinkerpins, a clockwork tin toy robot, Cleolei became Maupet A'Duat, a reincarnated Egyptian cat given humanoid form (also wasn't altered as a base, and merely redressed), and Clawvenus became Dendrea Barker, a haunted dogwood tree. I didn't work with Lagoonafire.

Consider: Toralei was the kind of bitch who would like pull people's earbuds out of their ears and she'd be like "oops! cat instincts" and no one could do anything about it bc they couldn't prove it wasn't a cat instinct thing she just couldn't help. And then ppl got wireless earbuds and she kept swatting them out of ppls ears and blaming cat instincts leading to the boo crew to like try to figure out if werecats have a Thing against all earbuds not just wired ones or if this is just Toralei being a brat (3 guesses as to which one it is)

IFBSIFJDUDR Funny thing is I genuinely have no recollection of earbuds being knocked out as a cat thing. Like when was that a thing. Do cats not like things in peoples ears???

Cause lol. What I thought would be even funnier is that Toralei pulls some completely bullshit and just says ‘oops cat instincts.�� Like she yanks your earbuds out. Dumps her drink on you. Trips you down a flight of stairs. All to say ‘oops cat instincts’

so uhh just watched Freaky Fusion

Really good honestly, definitely not an S-tier MH movie but certainly somewhere around A-B imo. But I'm soooo annoyed with the fact that they brought up "hybrid monsters" and having the ghouls fused into one body, and then didn't have Jackson/Holt be a bigger part of it!!

...(oh my god these names) Clawvenus, Dracubecca, Cleolei and Lagoonafire have to get used to all these powers they've never experienced before, while also cooperating with the other monster inhabiting the same body as them. Who's the monster with the most experience in that field? ...the mixed race allegories I guess.

Okay, Jackson and Holt are more of a D.I.D. situation, with the canon stating that Jackson has no real control over when and where Holt begins controlling their body, and both of them having no memory of the other's escapades. This directly contrasts with the ghouls, who can have actual, conscious conversations and arguments with the other. But Holt and Jackson are still very aware of each other, and have learnt to live with and help each other out.

It was mostly Cleolei who needed both of their ghouls to get along (the others didn't have many problems other than malfunctioning powers) BUT WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE GOTTEN HOLT OR JACKSON TO TALK WITH THEM INSTEAD OF HAVING Neighthan Rot listen to them talking.

Idk, maybe I'm just a Jackson/Holt fangirl but I feel like Freaky Fusion would've been more interesting if they'd gone to Holt and Jackson for help instead of monsters that just. Have two scaretiges. They of all monsters know what it's like to have two people in the same body, but I guess Mattel or whoever had marketable outfits in mind when they made those movies.
