cant stop thinking bout that now holy fuck. shit. gepard being a medic maybe still through the silvermanes and still out on the frontlines, but instead of being the captain leading the guards out into the snow plains he's the one tending to them and bringing them back alive

every day i struggle to make choices
#i should invest into some kind of education but cant make up my mind#mostly because options suck#i cant do trades unless my body sucks less which is sad because id love to be an electrician#cant even think about getting a pilots license cuz im not passing the med cert#i think id rather die than be a med assistant actually#working clinics at all makes me nervous tbh but probably where im headed in the short term#surgical tech would be cool but i cant do a Real program while working full-time#which is what limits most of my choices#i need to find more paid training programs i guess#if i had to pick a miserable but fulfilling job id go into education itself#but the teaching profession has always been in a downward spiral esp as of late#i dont want healthcare because i hate seeing dysfunctional glorified murder machines grinding around and around endlessly#acute care sucks id rather be in an icu for function but then im depressed because our patients are always dying#it was better as a phleb but this hospital doesnt have phleb and like i said im nervous about clinics#but i need to fucking commit to outpatient phlebotomy i think :/#the most fun ive had at a job ever#i wish i had more widely applicable skills but i cant be an emt/para even just for the training#because half of it is unpaid and the other half you pay for#and again#a job NOTORIOUS for being exhausting dangerous and traumatizing#if i was 17 again and wasnt escaping the tar pit of my mother id go for an english degree and i wouldnt even regret it#thinking about school in terms of a job i have to have forever vs for the sake of learning is so different#id like to know everything. i wanna read and write forever. and do research and have real technical skills that help people#im still riding off of the high of getting 5 ccs off of an oncology patient who desperately needed a port#they were able to run like seven tests off of it#i had to use a couple ped tubes#she only had to get poked Once and barely noticed it bc the doc team came in and im so happy i made her admission that muvh easier#labs are so miserable#checking back on the blood and seeing all of the results came through made me more pleased than anything else in the world

WAAAAHHH tysm 🥺 what a blessing from you 🥺 i just love the angle, you know ?? bc it puts you directly in his path just about every single day. it's like. you're holding a piece of him together and it's not about whether he's allowing you to or wants you to; that's your job. and somewhere along the way 🥺 i think it could be easy for those lines to blur 🥺
another agency wants to talk with you about coverage and emergency patrol shifts, so you're going to have a sit-down meeting with them thursday. don't forget. you have late patrol that evening, so you'll have to come in a little early, unfortunately, i'm sorry. i'll have all the paperwork made up when you come in and we can go over there together. i'll bring water or tea. maybe we can get lunch afterwards, and then we can talk about the schedule for next week. how is your arm, by the way, from when you hurt it? do you need me to call the clinic and get you a refill on your pain meds? what about your inhaler or your heart med? are you feeling okay lately? your dad called about next tuesday but that's your only day off so maybe you should just rest. i don't mind coming in saturday to help you catch up with paperwork, it's no problem. don't stress about it, we'll get it done. you can walk me home if it makes you feel better.
LIKE IT'S EVERYTHING TO ME THE SHIFT CAN BE SO SUBTLE BUT SUDDENLY YOU WAKE UP AND YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT YOUR DAYS WITHOUT EACH OTHER WAAAHHH

So what's with people being mean right off the bat in interviews? Like they're pissed they have to interview you. What's up with that?

New Brunswick plans to add a new role to the province’s health-care system in an aim to help with the staffing shortage. The clinical assistant position will provide an opportunity for internationally trained medical professionals to enter the field in New Brunswick, according to a news release from the provincial government. “The clinical assistant program represents a wonderful opportunity to have talented internationally trained physicians provide valuable medical services to the health system,” said Health Miniser Bruce Fitch in the release. “New Brunswickers will benefit from the knowledge of these internationally educated health professionals who otherwise would be unable to share their knowledge and expertise at this level.”

GODDD my mom has been talking me into removing a mole shes hypochondric about for months now and ive been saying well im not scared of it turning cancerous and i think it looks fun. and then she says. my mom, who hates tattoos so much she calls it literal automutilation. she said well if you're that attached to it get one tattooed. WHO DOES THAT? im not spending money on a fake mole. anyways i was done with arguing about it so i got it removed this morning. lowkey hoping it heals horribly and she'll be so embarrassed about having the scar on display when i go out in short sleeves. → normal not at all petty thing to wish for

I think if there was more regulation in vet med people might actually stay. If there was defined job duties and the skills needed for each position were consistent between practices, there would be a lot less infighting and vets/clients would know what to expect from techs vs. assistants. Also if everyone on the team wanted to contribute to a healthy hospital. Clean up after yourself, help each other out, communicate directly instead of through petty bullying, stop being so far up your own asshole because you think you're the only one in vet med who knows what they're doing. Can we just start treating this like a professional career?

#theo's thoughts#Story time for the people who love reading tags bc I love sharing things in the tags#So I work at a therapeutic day school and this past school year like four school days before Thanksgiving break I was asked a question#The question was if I would be willing to step up and be a long term sub in a middle school classroom#To me this was less of a question and more of a hey we need someone to do this and you're who the assistant teacher asked for#Which cool yeah fine I'll give it a go I really like that person (the assistant teacher who asked for me) and I trust her judgement on this#I was asked and accepted on Thursday. Friday‚ Monday‚ and Tuesday happen. Then three day Thanksgiving break#When we got back from break I was the teacher and it was rough at first and it sure as hell was never easy but I enjoyed it#My formal teacher observation was my boss basically going like so I see you doing all the things and the basis is there#But it's not being followed through on because of behaviors from the most unmedicated classroom I've seen in all my years working education#And now for the summer they're changing 2/3 staff that were in the room and who even knows who the teacher will be (a new hire? Maybe?)#If there truly is a new hire coming in (fed to the wolves immediately btw what a dick move) but that new hire will be the fourth teacher#These kids have had in a year? A year and a half max. The fourth. After the only thing I've been repeatedly told by admin for months#Is that we need to be stable and consistent because we may be these kids' only reliable source of that consistency and stability?#So you're going to have me come in and tell me I've done such a great job and then tell me you're moving me to 'give me a break'#Trauma informed care my fucking ass. I hope those kids raise fucking hell over it.#The brutal satisfaction of watching your own crops burn and knowing that the invaders will starve is great and all but these are kids!#They're barely just about to be teenagers (11 at the youngest and 14 at the oldest) and this is what you're going to do to them?#Yes they can be complete assholes and are often dicks to one another but they're in our school for a fucking reason? I don't get it.#Then two hours later after being told abt the change‚ the clinical director puts me as one of the three main recipients in an email#Saying that there's going to be a new student starting in that room in the summer and the real icing on the cake?#This all happens on last day before summer break. we're out of session for two weeks now and you're just dropping these changes on us now?#God I'm so fucking tired

Indulging in my IDV OC because I can. Rehashed her like 20 times. Primarily inspired wendigo > vampire, playing on how the Native American creature symbolises selfishness, greed- exactly who she is in a quest to find a medical cure to her congenital condition. No happy ending for homegirl unfortunately as she stuck herself in a self-fulfilling loop. pretty much every idv character ever .
