Parrots are very smart and reactive, especially to what makes the people of their flock happy.
Needless to say, The Clone Wars makes me happy, and I talk about Clones a lot. Since Rex, my favorite, is talked about constantly—he is kind of a 'well, unremarkable' to their lives—he's just as familiar to them as we are. They’ll tolerate him for not being their faves, but hey… he isn’t their favorite.
But… I talk about two other Clones a lot.
First up is Cody—Commander Sunshine—who was the first Clone I talked about, after Rex. This was when it was just Frankie and me, no Harley. So Cody = Happy Mom & Frankie time.
Frankie LOVES Cody. We excitedly say “Coooddeeeeee” and he starts squawking, spinning around, and flips about. He makes the sound of Disney+ loading then he wants us to play TCW. IF I put it on and DON’T immediately take him to a Cody scene, he screeches unhappily.
God forbid I put a scene to Obi-Wan and there is no Cody, because now… that is going to be everyone's problem. He’ll endure just-Rex, sort of, but loses interest. His favorite Cody episodes are “Rookies” and “Innocents of Ryloth.” He’s also learned from us what Lego Cody is.
Yes, he can tell the Clones apart—or at least, some of them. We don’t know if it is the familiarity of the scenes, the colors—birds see more colors than we do, and colors is one way they identify things—or their voices. As a Grey, Frankie can distinguish voices and sounds very easily. Personally, I think he can distinguish DBB’s Cody voice from his other Clone voices. Though, he does react to my Cody figures—so I think color helps, too.
In this video you see Frankie watching a scene closely. He’s actually looking for Cody. Impatiently. He has flung himself angrily at the screen when Obi-Wan won’t present the Cooodeeeeee.
No video of Harley’s reaction to TCW. We know she likes General Grievious—pretty sure it is his dramatics and colors. But we’ve recently noticed she’s gained a favorite Clone.
Who is her favorite? Well, my girl learned some good Clone taste from me: Commander Wolffe!
If I start babbling about Wolffe to friends or roomies, Harley gets excited—she recognizes his name for sure. She has started to make the Disney+ noise and squabbles for episodes like “Mercy Mission.” She’s just beginning to tell their voices apart and has begun to react more strongly to Rex, Cody, and of course... Wolffe.
Unlike Frankie, who I think has a grudge with Obi-Wan for NOT being Cody—bird logic—Harley is soothed by PLO’s voice. She’ll settle down and watch his episodes.
Yes, they will find a place to perch, settle in, and watch things.
They're also just excited when I keep saying their favorite Clone’s names and tell them stories I make up with their boys. They are too young to understand the words of the stories, but they like the excitement in my voice and constantly that “sound” (the Clone’s names) while I smile.
Mostly, they are reacting to me. But it still so amazing to witness.
Needless to say, my birds have some good Clone Tastes.

Okay not to rattle the hornet nest or something and in hindsight Obi-Wan's mercy did end up saving the Galaxy but Obi-Wan's complicated feelings towards Vader does not justify him sparing his life. He knew what Vader was capable of. Knew he would murder and maim and torture again. He knew if he walked away from him Vader wasn't suddenly going to have a change of heart and yet, he still did. I love Obi-Wan with my whole heart but it's hard to deny that Obi-Wan now has every murder committed by Vader after their second duel on his hands.
If the writer wanted to write that confrontation the way they did (and the battle was heartbreakingly beautiful I admit) they could have ended it with backup arriving for Vader or something resulting in Obi-Wan being forced to run away. The way they decided to do it however was just downright irresponsible. And I refuse to accept the "the jedi way" excuse because first, General Grievious and second the entire clone war was literally war crimes upon war crimes so yeah. Not good.

Clone Wars
I appreciate how in practically every episode... someone jinxes them by saying "I've got a bad feeling about this."
I also appreciate Grievious dropping from above and saying 'hello there' the first time he and Obi-wan meet face to face.
Also... Asajj Ventress' outfit when Dooku betrays her to die is quite similar to the outfit she wears in the Tartakovsky Clone Wars when he first takes her as his apprentice.
In general, the way the clones are handled. They are so like-able, and there's a range of things that happen to them whether they're named or not, that it's hard not to feel for all the vode when something happens, again... whether named or not.

I KNOW STAR WARS IS PROBABLY GOING TO TRY TO FORGET THIS PART, BUT I’M NOT GOING TO. HERE IS WHY AHSOKA'S WORDS AREN’T FAIR AND WHY SHE’S RIGHT THAT SHE’S NOT TRYING TO BE AND WHY OBI-WAN ISN’T PUTTING POLITICS AHEAD OF PEOPLE’S LIVES JUST FOR THE SAKE OF POLITICS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahsoka wants the Jedi to go to Mandalore because the people there need them.  And she’s right!  And she’s right that people have lost faith in the Jedi Order, but there is no way that going to Mandalore--or even any mission like it--was going to make the Jedi any more popular/have more faith in them.  (Nor, would I argue, that they should be doing things based on what other people think of them or what makes them popular, especially when the general public’s view of things are, uh, not always the greatest or most reliable, I mean, these are the people who think Palpatine’s great, maybe they’re not the most narratively reliable???) But the above cannot come without context of the bigger war, because I remember Ryloth.  And I remember Mon Calamari.  And I remember Kiros. And I remember Revenge of the Sith, I remember the Battle Over Coruscant, I remember that the Separatists aren’t just kidnapping Palpatine, THEY ARE THERE ON CORUSCANT.  GRIEVIOUS AND DOOKU AND THEIR BATTLE DROIDS ARE RIGHT THERE.  ATTACKING THE PLANET. And I remember what the Separatists do to worlds they invade. They slaughter them, they oppress them, they enslave them. Now they’re heading towards Coruscant.  They’re not suddenly going to be nice to the capital of the Republic, Grievous and Dooku aren’t going to have a sudden change of heart and go, well, it’s Coruscant, I guess we won’t do the same thing we always do to planets who resist. Here’s how the bit right before their conversation goes, by the way: the sirens go off, the clones start dashing around to prepare, it’s clear they’re going to battle.  Anakin assumes the attack on Mandalore was what set this off, but Obi-Wan says, no, it’s Coruscant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Obi-Wan talks about the mission they’re being tasked with, he doesn’t mention the Chancellor at all, it’s Anakin who asks after his friend.  In all the conversation around this episode, it took even me having to go back to make gifs to get me to realize, oh, they don’t even know Palpatine is going to be kidnapped at this point!  THAT HASN’T HAPPENED YET.  They’ve lost contact with him, but the danger is that Grievous has attacked Coruscant. THIS ISN’T ABOUT PALPATINE BEING IN DANGER.  HE HASN’T BEEN KIDNAPPED YET.  THEY MIGHT BE WORRIED ABOUT HIM, BUT THAT’S NOT THE IMPORTANT PART UNTIL ANAKIN MENTIONS HIM. (This reading is furthered by how Obi-Wan’s voice goes significantly gentler when he says, “Not to worry.  Our fleet can be there within the hour.”  He is specifically saying this to Anakin, he is gentling his tone because he knows Anakin will worry about his friend, not because he’s prioritizing Palpatine.) THIS IS ABOUT WHAT OBI-WAN SAYS:  GRIEVOUS HAS ATTACKED THE CAPITAL. So when Ahsoka says the Jedi are going to Coruscant because of Palpatine, it’s not a fair accusation to say that the people of Coruscant don’t need them.  She’s saying that the Jedi are protecting Coruscant because it’s important to the Chancellor, not because Coruscant’s people are important, when Obi-Wan is saying, yes, the people of Coruscant are important and her accusation isn’t fair or correct in that sense. The battle is on their planet now, the Separatists are there, if they lose that battle, the people of Coruscant will be facing the same thing those other planets did and it’ll go exactly the same way--utter horror unless the Jedi are there to protect them. Coruscant doesn’t just need their Chancellor rescued, Coruscant needs protection to not be the next Ryloth, to not be the next Mon Calamari, to not be the next Kiros, because the Separatists are there and that’s what they do. Ahsoka’s wrong that the people of Coruscant don’t need the Jedi.  She’s right that Mandalore needs help, but in her letting her emotions cloud her judgement, she would be condemning the heart of the Republic (the only thing that stands between the Separatists and unfettered atrocity after atrocity, they’re the only thing that can stand against those horrible things Dooku and Grievous do). She’s being unfair about how Coruscant does need their help. She can try to frame it as what they’re really doing is rescuing the Chancellor or sucking up to him or whatever, but this is also Obi-Wan Kenobi and he doesn’t come without context as well, that he’s not the type to not want to help someone just because it’s inconvenient.  Seriously, this is Obi-Wan, that guy is all about helping people! Yes, the Chancellor is there, but, you know, that’s also where Dooku and Grievous and the Separatists are.  They’re going to fight the Separatists, we see that when they’re in battle over Coruscant, when they board the Invisible Hand, when they face off against Grievous and Dooku.  They’re rescuing Palpatine, but they’re also protecting the planet below them from some genuinely awful shit that’s going to happen if they’re not there. And I know Star Wars will probably want to forget that part, in order to accuse the Jedi of playing politics in a bad way, but it’s still true.  Without the Jedi on Coruscant, Dooku would have done to the people there what he’s done to so many other worlds.  We’ve seen him do it again and again. The people of Coruscant are going to be dead or in chains or used as human shields or put in concentration camps (all things the Separatists have done in canon) if they put Mandalore first, just like the Mon Cal, the Togruta, and the Twi’leks.

tuesday again 5/4/21
yeah yeah yeah may the fourth be with you whatever this is mostly me rambling disjointedly about the bits and pieces of star wars i crammed into my weekend
i think the star war that is the best-made and most watchable on a technical level (including script) is ESB. however, AOTC is my fuckin favorite bc there’s so much fucking nonsense happening all the the goddamn time. incoherent movie with too many sidequests but it all looks sick as shit
my personal history with star wars is: watched it (like many other movies) juuuuust a little too young with my dad as a Bonding Activity (to the silent fury of my mom) but unfortunately got Really Into It. reading expanded universe novels (nearly all of them, i have almost two hundred of them in boxes in a storage unit) was the thing that kept me alive through high school. never really got into the comics, didn’t pick up any of the post-disney-nuking-the-expanded-universe novels. was horribly disappointed by the sequel trilogy and solo. rogue one is all right. however, the mandalorian (weird and cheesy as it is, also i am not immune to pedro pascal) really got me back into this stupid fucking franchise. so i have been taking a rambling walk through things that i remembered liking. all my fun star wars facts are old and outdated but they sure all do live in my brain
listening ‘General Grievous’ off the ROTS soundtrack. this is i think the beginning of my love for heavy low rumbling undercurrents? would not say this has a ‘groove’ per se but there is definitely a forward momentum. love some ominous brass. love the williams panic-spike strings. LOVE A DANGER WARNING LEITMOTIF
god u listen to the original + prequel soundtracks and then listen to the sequel soundtracks (as i have been doing during working hours for the past week) and i get really sad. should have let him retire in peace. he doesn’t have a ton of gas left.
anyway this is the bit of the movie where obi-wan shows up on utapu (the cool sinkhole planet) with the big lizard bird to fight grievious btw. good fight. why does he flirt with the big robot man when he’s already in a enemies-to-lovers flirtationship with asaaj ventress RIGHT AFTER the duchess of mandalore died in his arms??? who can say. grief makes people do weird things.

youtube
reading rebel heist (2014, kindt & castiello). these are some of the few loose single-issue comics i own bc i love the covers so much. i hate dealing with bagged and boarded comics bc they’re a pain to store and they’re honestly a pain to read. gimme a trade paperback any day please. rereading these, i liked them less than i remembered- it’s a cool conceit of following an ordinary person in the rebellion as they get caught up in luke & leia & han & chewie’s schemes, and things of course do eventually turn out fine but not before all these regular people go UHHHH WHAT THE FUCK? WTF WTF WTF NOT WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR at some classic skywalker nonsense. can i just say how much i love these covers again tho
Tumblr media
watching star wars: the clone wars ran from 2008 to 2020. i watched the first six seasons with my siblings on starwars.com for most of its run, bc there was a brief period of time (i forget whether it was two days after or ten days after) when you could watch each episode for free and we didn’t have cable until well after i went to college.
the second season is where it really starts to hit its stride- i haven’t gone back to watch anything as an adult but i remember liking a lot of the episodes from this season. as an adult, it’s pretty horrifying to realize how fucking stupid the clone wars were from a loss of life and material gain standpoint.
there’s a two-episode arc about the zillo beast, a big kaiju critter, and i only had enough time to watch the first one. the have to protect the oil planet (sorry, i’m getting a note in) so sorry the FUEL RESERVES on the oil planet, so they drop a giant EMP two miles from the city center, but this isn’t a planet with people that look like humans so it’s fine! the important thing is that the fuel is okay.
anyway, this episode is lovely and moody- this is such a stiff-looking show and wreathing everything in cool purple mist and making sure the silhouettes look good is really doing a lot of the work here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
look i just really like this framing. the jedi on a stage above everyone else, waist-deep in blood already from the months-old war, the hint of an imperial symbol in the cannon dish, anakin & mace separated by an interior wall and separate hatches. i’m reading too much into season fucking two of the clone wars but i just think it’s neat.
Tumblr media
yes!!! starship fuel SHOULD be bright radioactive green!!! star wars is mostly about things looking sick as shit and it’s part of why i am the way i am now
Tumblr media
ok i fucked up on this last screenshot but look. LOOK. this is some peak nonsense right here love it. mwah. star wars is at its heart a melodramatic pulpy swashbuckling science fiction adventure and it gets weird when it forgets that
Tumblr media
playing i own fallen order bc it came for free with my pc but i have not cracked it open bc it seems like an assassains creed, a style of game that fucking infuriates me. also i own no other star wars games so this section left intentionally blank
making i make one of these things a year now i guess. this one is finally for me.

ASLIHAN MALBORA // have you met ZARAFET “FEE SELVI” yet? SHE/THEY is a TWENTY-EIGHT year old DEMIWOMAN HALF-DATHOMIRIAN NIGHTSISTER. they’re originally from DATHOMIR and now show loyalty to THE FIRST ORDER THE RESISTANCE. they are best known for being a SPY MEDIC / PSYCHIATRIST, and i hear they’re pretty INTUITIVE yet also MANIPULATIVE at times; i hope they survive the galactic civil war. (APRIL)
Tumblr media
THE PAST
many believe that the dathomirian nightsisters were slaughtered at the end of the clone wars by grievious’ forces, and generally speaking, that is true. survivors were few and far between. despite enduring heavy losses and greatly reduced numbers, the nightsisters' presence on dathomir would never be completely eliminated and the eradication of most of the dathomirians led to the original human nightsisters restored to their former prominence. by the time of the galactic civil war, the nightsisters were re-organized back into a single coven once again under the iron fist of gethzerion.
in the year of 7aby, zarafet was born to a dathomirian mother and human father. during this time, dathomir was under the command of an imperial admiral / warlord named zsinj. the planet was forced into isolation until 8aby, when gethzerion and other nightsisters captured new republic heroes, and brokered a deal to release the new republic members to zsinj for passage off world. gethzerion betrayed the deal and zsinj destroyed her and those with her, nearly causing another genocide of the nightsisters’ thirty years after the first.
but the nightsisters were resilient. they rebuilt.
the new republic never came to help dathomir. resentment built as it prospered whlie they struggled to rebuild. as their sisters generations before, zarafet went through regimented training starting very early in her life: they became a formidable force-user, excelled in the creations of potions and poisons, and became proficient in hand to hand combat as well as sword and lightwhip combat. they were intended to become a healer for the nightsisters when they were old enough.
by 23aby, when zarafet was sixteen, the nightsisters were reformed. the leader, tamith kai, allied with the imperial remnant beginning to be known as the first order. the goal was to protect the remains of the nightsister from another massacre, sending their brightest to enlist with the first order. zarafet was among those sent, the only nightsister who was not wholly human and painfully aware of it. she was not fully tattooed, though bears several lines of various thickness and dots on her face and back. initially, they had intended to gain the rest when they turned eighteen, but never did due to regulation. it’s a bitter sting, a piece of her culture that she can’t hang onto.
excelling through the training program, it was several years before zarafet was selected for intelligence based work. because of their half-alien status, diverse skillset due to the force/magick, and skill for languages, she was eventually selected and trained to be a spy. their name, on paperwork, is agent zed. only those with high clearance know she exists. it’s not the glamorous life of bombs or assassinations, though some deaths have been arranged. it’s boring on the surface, yet efficiency, necessary.
in 30aby, a year after the first order was publicly formed, fee selvi joined the resistance as a medic and psychiatrist. their cover story is that they were a part of the misty falls clan on dathomir as a child, but she and their human mother left during her early teens for a better life. they bear the traditional tattoos of dathomir, their skin is ghastly pale –– she looks the part easily. years were spent undercover with the resistance, discovering what exactly they knew about the first order so that they could feed the information back, and help keep the first order one step ahead. she became coveted when the cold war became a full blown war, and there was a greater need for more medical care, because their magic allowed them greater heeling without the expensive cost of bacta or other tangible treatments. in the height of war, their role for physical medicine is emphasized, whereas in the lulls between, they go to their ‘specialty’ of psychiatry, serving as both functionally assessing the fitness of resistance members and providing more therapeutic esrvices.
fee was been a known part of the resistance for five years when the war came to its end. she is very well trusted and highly regarded, and considered a confidant by many in that time. even when the war came to an end, no one discovered that she had been feeding information to the first order the entire time.
THE PRESENT
zarafet was pulled from the end of the battle of exegol, devastated that the first order had somehow lost the war that it seemed so clear they would win. while she had always had some issues with the first order, she’d had issues with the rebellion and new republic, too. they awoke in 5aby and began making ties with the rebellion again to resume their role of spying, embracing the identify of fee selvi once again. because they joined up with the rebellion again at the tail end of the war, they’ve done more work on the psychiatric and therapeutic side of things. their loyalty is... unsteadier than she’d like, wanting to see if she can prevent the slaughter of nightsisters she believes to be destined in 8aby again. in 6aby, they reconnected with the first order to resume spying officially.
PERSONALITY
zarafet is extremely focused, private, ambitious, and emotionally repressed. trauma lives in their veins, but she has learned how not to be emotionally available. very few people know the real nightsister that lives inside of her, and it’s easier that way. no one can hurt her that way. purpose and productivity drive her, they want to protect the nightsisters from yet another genocide. it takes a lot to rattle them. she’s very smart, and very perceptive, but struggles with a feeling of isolation at their core.
fee, on the other hand, is viewed as warmth and empathetic, the kind of smile that lights up a room. she veers slightly more on the introverted side, presenting as a little bit shy and preferring for others to do most of the talking. they’re wise beyond their years and end up drawing people into more ‘therapy’ type of conversations without the other realizing it. she’s just the kind of person that people are drawn to trust. it’s assumed that they don’t have much stomach for violence or direct combat, given their role. several have joked to their face that they wouldn’t know she was a nightsister if it weren’t for the partial tattoos, which has only further driven her distaste for the resistance.

I just saw your post asking for prompts, so if you're interested: Obi-Wan/Cody, nr 15 Getting together at Palpatine's funeral. I have never seen that idea before, so I'm very curious! Stay safe and healthy, and thank you!
CodyWan getting together under the cut!
Obi-Wan’s teeth were gritting so hard it was a miracle they weren’t falling down under such pressure. The cowl of his Jedi’s cape hide enough of his face than most people would only see what he wanted them too: a Jedi Master, solemn and grave, as they buried the Chancellor of the Republic. A Jedi Master as many other, a pillar of strength hidden in brown and beige, someone who carried the orders of the Senate, someone who protected, someone who was a vessel more than a person.
Cody, standing next to him, as every Commander stood next to their General, knew better. He could see the movements of his jaw, the flex of his brow. He could feel the tension, the anger…
In all the years of the war they had shared, he had never seen Obi-Wan so angry. He had seen Obi-Wan after the mother of all battles, he had seen Obi-Wan hurt almost to death, he had seen him choking on his grief, he had seen him drunk and sad and joyful, he had seen him playful and wise, he had seen bored and he had seen him peaceful. Nevertheless he had never understood the depth of the anger which could sweep that gentle soul until the moment the two of them had entered the Chancellor’s office and found three dead Jedi Masters and an Anakin on the verge of falling who had just cut one of Master Windu’s hand.
Until Obi-Wan had seen a Sith Lord trying to make his Padawan, his child, Fall.
Almost one week after, that anger had not abated.
Cody was honestly a little surprised by how much Angry a Jedi Master could go without getting all murderous and yellow-eyed. Master Windu had explained to him at length the difference between Righteous Anger and Murderous Rage and Cody had honestly lost his footing in the discourse much sooner than he would like to confess. It probably hadn’t helped that Master Windu had been on so, so much medication at the time and insisted to cite obscure Jedi philosophe dead for centuries every two sentences.
Anakin and Obi-Wan had still not spoken to each other and Anakin was the only adult Jedi on Coruscant not present to the funeral, with Master Windu still in bed rest.
Officially, it was because of the injuries the two of them were supposed to have received in defending, unsuccessfully, the Chancellor from the Sith Lord. Unofficially Master Windu was effectively drugged to his gills, but Anakin was hiding into Senator Amidala’s apartment to be sure he wouldn’t see Obi-Wan.
The former Master Padawan pair had yelled at each other a few times via holocommunication and the only results Cody had observed was Obi-Wan’s blood pressure skyrocketing. Not that he needed it: everything seemed to put Obi-Wan in a terrible mood since Palpatine’s death, and Cody had started to play interference to be sure his Jedi wouldn’t burn all his bridges.
And now, here they were. Standing at the burial, pretending very hard the dead Chancellor hadn’t been an enemy of all life, all in the name of politics. It had been decided the truth would only worsen the situation, including the coming-soon peace talks. Obi-Wan hadn’t liked one bit to be forced to pretend like that. For the man who had tried to take his child! Master Gallia and Obi-Wan had had the Jedi equivalent of a row, all polite words, subtle metaphors and gleaming smiles, and Cody, who hadn’t left the side of Obi-Wan since Sidious’ death, would have sworn it had been more vicious than some battles against Grievious. In fact, Obi-Wan had been vicious all week, not only with Anakin and Master Gallia and Cody, if he hadn’t adored the man so much, would have throttled him a half-dozen times. It felt like Obi-Wan was bracing himself for something even more terrible and all his energy went to that bracing, leaving nothing to act like a civilized being.
“Oh, I can’t take it anymore,” Obi-Wan finally admitted at the beginning of the fourth speech, some Selkath ambassador whose name Cody didn’t take the time to remember, “let’s go find a drink or I will do something stupid.”
“Everybody will see if we leave,” Cody remarked sotto voce and Obi-Wan grunted something rude and turned on his heels.
Cody followed, because he wasn’t sure Obi-Wan wouldn’t try to burn down the Senate in this state of mind. And sadly, today Cody was his adult supervision. Not that he sometimes didn’t have the urge himself, but it would derail the plans for clones’ rights that Senator Organa was pushing at the Senate.
They ended in a cantina in some area of Coruscant the Commander didn’t know. A careful examination of the décor persuaded Cody it sometimes doubled as a brothel but he wasn’t a prude. Also, the brandy was good and reasonably priced and the dim lights and out of the way table afforded them some privacy.
“You weren’t forced to follow me,” Obi-Wan said to him at the end of the second drink, “I’m pretty sure I’m not your General anymore.”
“My General isn’t in the habits to drink instead of doing his job,” Cody bit back, “so, yeah, I’m aware.” And he wasn’t even sorry when he saw Obi-Wan’s grimace.
“I asked Knight Bant,” Cody started, “and she talked to me about some retreat…”
“Are you…is this an intervention?”
“Are you gonna get angrier and impossible to control if I say yes?”
Obi-Wan gesticulated for a third drink.
“Enough,” Cody ordered, exasperated and Obi-Wan’s eyes went round. Cody had sometimes pleaded, quipped and sidestepped orders, but it was the first time he used this tone with his General. He leaned down on the Jedi across the small table:
“If you act like a brat, I’m not above putting you on my knees for a good spanking,” he hissed, at the end of his rope, “Yes, your almost son was manipulated, but it doesn’t give you the right to act like you’re the only one hurt. We will go at the meditation retreat recommended by Knight Bant, you’ll meditate or centre yourself or whatever you need, and I will listen to boring to death Jedi poets, and then we’ll come back and built a better world, including healthy communications with Anakin Skywalker.”
Obi-Wan’s mouth opened a few times, like a fish on dry soil.
“You’ll come with me?” He said finally and Cody had a sudden flash of understanding.
“You big lummox!” He exclaimed, his voice rasping, forgetting in an explosion all about his usual calm and control, “How can you be so smart and so… Have you been a pain in the ass all week because you thought I would abandon you? And you didn’t think to ask?”
Obi-Wan immediately went beet red and Cody’s heart filled with exasperated fondness. Jedi and feelings….He regretted Qui-Gon Jinn wasn’t alive for a discussion: he was sure half of Obi-Wan’s problems with expressing healthy feelings were his faults. He took Obi-Wan’s hand across the table.
“A feral Sith Lord couldn’t take me from you,” he reminded him. Obi-Wan had a small, grateful smile. Cody put a kiss across his knuckles and Obi-Wan went even redder, something which had seemed impossible.
“You’ll come with me?” He asked again.
“I will come with you,” Cody confirmed, “to the end of the world or beyond. Even a week of Jedi’s meditations couldn’t scare me away.” And for the first time in a week, he saw Obi-Wan’ smile, so he couldn’t resist adding:
“And when we are back, I’m taking you on a date.”
The smile turned flirtatious, something like a spark, which had been absent for days, lightening in the blue eyes.
“There you are, Negotiator,” Cody smiled in turn.

Bang!
Blaster bolts went back and forth. Red versus blue. The 212th stood surrounded as the battle rages against them. Marshal Commander Cody takes cover behind a piece of fallen debris. Deflecting bolts and managing to keep himself alive. General Kenobi nowhere to be seen.
Kriffin’ hell he thinks as he pulls the trigger on his blaster shooting down the clankers. Cody’s been fighting this war since he had been ship off to fight for the Republic. Ever since, he knows where his loyalty lies. With the Jedi. Perhaps the Republic gave him an order but his Jedi gave him life.
CC-2224 better known as Commander Cody, got a taste at life’s precious treasure. Love
He found love in a hopeless place and time. Cody met you.
A young Jedi padawan. He couldn’t believe when his General opted to have a new padawan. Someone old enough to be a knight but actually a padawan. Everything started slow and stoic, Cody is a man of doing everything by the book and you well...
You turned out to be a headache at first. But with time Cody got to understand you and that’s how he knew. Your reckless self is what made you so fierce and head strong though with a gentle heart.
Your love for Cody bloomed when he saved you from General Grievious. The cyborg had you hanging on a cliff for your life. As you prayed to the force for a miracle, it came. In the form of a clone trooper. Cody had manage to scare away General Grievious, just in time to catch your sipping fingers and tug you towards him. You landed on his chest, heaving and grasping his plastoid armor.
Since then, things have been better for you and him. Even when you broke thousands of regulation, Cody still feels more in love with you as the day passes by.
Although at the moment, Cody thinks he won’t survive this raging war. His men are dying slowly being shot off. He has no time to think or analyze. Just shoot and survive to make it through. In the midst of shooting the clankers and mainting his front, Cody didn’t saw it at first. But a rocket crossed the battlefield and Cody could only close his and brace for the imminent death.
Death never came. Instead there you stood slashing that rocket by the middle. Your Master, Obi-Wan landing right behind you as you deflected bolts gaining the upper hand against the Separatist forces. You saw it. The rocket making its way to your commander. And millions of thoughts burst in you as you ran and sliced it down swiftly.
“General! Commander!” Cody shouted as you took cover behind a fallen debris. Your master had taken cover on the other side leaving you with your lover. A simple brush of fingertips to let you know that he is okay.
As the boys in blue, the 501st took the upper hand against the Separatist you stood watching your lover. He shot down fiercely the droids and that only made your heart flutter.
“He is a keeper” Anakin said smirking down at you. The comment made you yelp as you tried to cover it up with a cough and nodding. He knows, everyone knows what goes between you and the 212th Commander.
You smile smitten as the battle dies down. You see the boys in blue with your boys in orange. The perfect pair. That’s what you call them whenever the 501st assist you and General Kenobi and vice versa when you assist General Skywalker and Captain Rex.
A gunship arrives to take you away along with the Generals. As you make your way across, you make eye contact with Cody. You may not see his eyes but you feel his gaze as you stare into his visor. With a nod from you he turns away but doing a gesture as well. A smile edges on your features as the gunship takes you back to the Jedi starship.
***
Your quarters are silent when you enter. Throwing aside your robe, you saunter towards your bed. You fall on face first in content as your body makes contact with the bed. The feeling of peace and comfort engulfes you.
Swish
The door opens, Cody shuffles inside silently as he spots your sleeping form. He unclips the plastoid armor slowly as stays on his blacks. The man slips on the bed admiring your sleepy face. Cody smiles. A genuine sweet smiles adorn his face.
You blink slowly coming to meet your lover’s face. Realization hits you like a ton of bricks as you tackle him causing Cody to cough. “What’s the matter?” He asks rubbing your back.
“You almost died” You mumble into his neck hugging him tighter.
Cody sighs as he thinks about the day earlier when that rocket almost took him out like a pulp. He can’t deny the fact that dying, it made him feel free. That finally he’d be free of the shackles of war. He wouldn’t be another slave for a republic which doesn’t care for him nor his brothers.
Cody can’t help but feel remorse as he meets your gaze. You look at him expectantly, looking for an answer or a thank you. But you get a dejected sigh as he looks away. The silence tells you everything, he doesn’t have the strength to thank you for saving him. He is, in fact thankful for having you.
You take him on your arms and hug him. Cody nuzzles into you softly taking in your scent. Peace overcomes his senses as you feel the force flow through him.
“I love you, Cody” you whisper kissing the scar on his face. The trooper feels something wet on his eyebrow. A tear from you. He furrows his brows, in questioning but also because he made you cry. He feels guilty.
“I’m sorry” he answer cleaning your wet cheeks and laying a kiss upon your sweet lips. He continues to peck your lips until you fall into a fit of giggles. You feel his smile against your lips as you pull away. “I love you too, Y/N” he answers cradling your face as he nuzzles your face.
It is the simple things that make you fall in love for Cody each day. And the fact that you will survive the war and settle down with him. Perhaps the present feels dark and cold but you have hope that it’ll be better in the future for you and your lover.
Because, you have save him from death many times ensuring that you’ll make it through the end of the line with him.

Anakin doesn’t know when all this started, but he’s sick and tired of all their enemies claiming Obi-Wan to be theirs when Obi-Wan is clearly karking his, dammit.
Or: 5 times Anakin's heard other people tell Obi-Wan "you're mine", and the one time he says it.

In season 1 of The Clone Wars, General Grievious’ ship is called The Malevolence, because it’s an intimidating name and it’s Malevolent. However, by the time Revenge of the Sith comes around, he has a new ship called ‘The Invisible Hand’. The ship A. Looks nothing like a hand, and B. Is 100% visible. ‘The Invisible Hand’ isn’t even that scary of a name, which clankah did Grivious let name the flagship of the separatists?
