More than a cave!

The natural features of Mammoth Cave National Park include the longest known cave system in the world, surrounding river valleys, karst topography, and rolling, wooded hillsides. The cultural landscape is also a record of a 12,000-year conversation between people and land spanning the first explorations by prehistoric people, mineral mining, early homesteading, preparations for the War of 1812, and 200 years of tourism leading to development of the national park.

In addition to providing an overview of the history and features of the landscape, this article introduces the Cultural Landscape Report (CLR) for Mammoth Cave Core Visitor Services Area. The CLR is a planning document that guides treatment, now and into the future. It aims to balance protection and enhancement of the site’s historic integrity with visitor access and interpretation needs, within a broader framework of sustainable land management.

Spellbound Facade, Chapter 22

Tiffany walked down the dirty streets of Chicago, kicking a discarded McDonald’s soda cup with haste. She huffed, thinking of Chucky, his curved irritating smirk, his unruly hair and oh- damn it if she still found him attractive! But enough was enough. He had left her one too many times, and especially concerning the last incident. Not even calling her to tell her that he was alive? Tif choked a sob, and willed her emotions back down. Chucky wouldn’t make her cry anymore, she refused it.

She screwed up her face and sharply turned a corner into an alley. She knew the path to Chucky’s oh so hidden hideout, and she would make sure the police did too. She’d call them up after dealing with the dick, and leave him to rot.

This time it would be different, she told herself.

This time, she would be the one to leave. That fucking good for nothing pig and his detective darling would be trapped by the cops wth no where to run. Tif smirked to herself in pride. He would never see it coming, feel betrayed even. And she would only laugh. Laugh far away in her trailer.

Better yet, what sorry sap would she call back to her place next? Shall it be someone from the liquor store or down broad street, anyone was easy play in her hands. Moveable, malleable, and most importantly, fragile.

She would crush them.

Fooling them with her sweet talk and honeyed demeanor, they would fall prey to her wishes. Leading them back to the trailer park would be a piece of cake, and even easier to lure them into her place. Eyelashes batting, fooling her lip into a smirk.

Tif mused, grinning to herself she bit her nail with haste.

Oh yes, that would be quite delicious.
