this is a few arcs ago now, and a lot of stuff happened since, but i feel the need to clarify a misunderstanding here bc it seems too many people stopped listening after mon said nothing outside that room mattered and missed every word after which belied that statement. as seen in the dialogue capped above, mon mothma was not really offering to call off this arranged marriage to a stranger in a crime family, only suggesting putting off the wedding and making the betrothal last a lit bit longer. this is not her proving herself a Good Parent after all by putting her daughter first so much as an attempted stalling tactic to soothe her own conscience when it came to the brink. the 14yo child bride may have been indoctrinated as a tradwife but she was not actually choosing this wedding bc it was not a true offer of freedom being rejected by her here and the whole marriage was arranged for reasons she could never be told about. mon says only "we can put it off" not "let's call the whole thing off", bc she knows damn well she couldn't afford to piss off davo sculdun, that she was already in debt to this man, and that if even if she stopped her rebellion-funding the tax evasion cover story she'd given him could still get her in trouble with the empire if sculdun turned on her.
just like she knew damn well what luthen meant to do to "protect" her wrt her old friend even as she pretended otherwise. and speaking of tay kolma, while mon was emotional about sacrificing her only child in a tradition she disapproved of, wiping away that single tear and squeezing vel's hand as the newlyweds made their first entrance at the reception, she only started pounding back the shots and dancing like shiv roy after that convo with luthen where she realized her childhood friend was about to be killed in her name. so even though the idea of a mom being drunk at her daughter's wedding was introduced in the scene above, this suggests she could have kept herself firmly in control and sober if leida were the only person she were giving up that day, as had been expected. the drunken dancing was def never about the naive 14yo child bride forcing her hand for the wedding (the wedding mon had planned and agreed to for the sake of The Cause she was committed to) to take place that day by denying a vague offer of delay.

#andor#mon mothma#leida mothma#mon was arguably the best developed char in the show so its frustrating to see her reduced to always righteous#her commitment to the rebellion which eventually led to her calling out genocide becoming an enemy of the state and leader on yavin#cannot be seperated from the price she was willing to pay on the everybody sacrifices for the rebellion show#idrc abt leida but my read of s1 was that she was closer to perrin and looked for female guidance elsewhere bc mon didnt have time#as a senator and a secret rebel collobarator her kid cld never be top priority#she was initially resistant bc sculdun was a gangster and she disapproved of arranged teen marriages from her own xp#but however she may have loved her child they never connected and didnt rlly like each other so...couldve been harder#(c)lsb#gffa meta#STAR WARS NOTHING BUT STAR WARS

What the Hell is Wizard101 (and Pirate101)
I'm making this post for the lovely @ellazimmermansblog, who is very sweet and wants to actually have half a clue what's going on in the fandom that I'm in but she's not. And oh sweet cheese and crackers. You asked for it. I tried to leave this in the comments. I really did. This is gonna get long, so feel free to read this in chunks or disregard it or just read it whenever you get the time.
Genre:
Wizard101 is a JRPG or junior-role-playing game that's also an MMO or Massive Multiplayer Online game that was big in the 2010s. In case you don't know what those are:
A JRPG is a game where you basically play as the protagonist of a middle grade fantasy/adventure story, meaning the target audience is usually 7-13. Think Pokemon or Kingdom Hearts.
An MMO is a game where everybody who plays the game is playing at the same time, in the same world. You can always interact with other players and are heavily encouraged to team up and collobarate.
While it is advertised as "free to play," it's only free for like the first hour or so of playtime. You can do the tutorial and like two other areas before you have to fork over some cash for a membership.
Basic Story:
Anyway, the spoiler-free story of Wizard101 is that you are a young Wizard enrolled in Ravenwood School of Magic by Headmaster Ambrose. He found you magically transported from "a strange world that doesn't believe in magic" (read: Earth). He believes you may be "the one we've been searching for." After doing a personality quiz to decide which school of magic you belong to, your enrollment is immediately crashed by Malistaire Drake. He used to be the Professor for the Death School, until his wife fell ill and he went mad with grief and turned evil trying to bring her back.
After beating up your would-be teacher, you learn that he's been unleashing scores of undead onto Wizard City, mind-controlling people, is going after major infrastructure, and is just being a dick in general because he's eeeeeeeeviiiiil. Ambrose turns you loose in the streets to help a number of other student NPCs save the city and do general damage control.
The main story of Arc 1 basically has you trekking after Malistaire like a lunatic, cleaning up his messes and trying to stop him from breaking the world apart while he attempts to ressurect his wife. This is where me and my brother J-Dog are at in our playthrough.
But there are 4 arcs, and the story continues WELL after you mop up the Malistaire problem. It's basically the Young Wizard saving the spiral from major threat after major threat, trekking through quirky worlds willy-nilly, and meeting a massive and entertaining cast of NPCs, all with different motivations and sidequests and problems for you to solve (or cause).
Each world in the spiral is also kind of an analogy for a real life place or a popular fictional story, but you replace all the humans with anthropomorphic animals (I'm really not sure why this game isn't more popular with furries). Marleybone, for example, which is where my brother and I are right now, is analagous to Victorian era England and populated by a bunch of stiff-upper-lipped dogs that nobody likes, mutliple crime rings of cats, and a contingent of Irish foxes that only appear in the less-popular but very good companion game: Pirate101 (I'll get to that).
That's the most basic I can make the gist, but there's still a lot of other basic information that might matter when I talk about it, so I'll put that under a cut!
Magic Basics:
The 7 main schools of magic that you can play as, and what they're general purpose/ability is are as follows:
Storm: Hit things really hard in exchange for a low accuracy rate and lower base HP. Glass cannons basically. This is what I'm playing as.
Fire: Also hitting things, but focuses more on damage-over-time spells that kill your enemies slowly.
Ice: Damage Sponge. They have the highest natural health pool, access to some decent spells early on to reduce damage, and even have a taunt spell that can draw enemy fire onto them (this isn't very useful in practice from what I've heard).
Those are the three elemental schools. The next three are spirit schools.
Life: Healers. What did you expect? They're the only class with the ability to heal other players. They get a high health pool, really good accuracy, and a lot of healing spells, but they're less good at hitting things and dealing damage. This is what J-Dog is playing as.
Myth: Summons. You can summon lots of different minions to help you out. From what I understand, each minion plays slightly differently and you're supposed to build different strategies around what they give you.
Death: Drains. Stealing health from the enemy basically. A lot of their spells will hit the enemy really hard, and then give half of that back to you. Because of the capability to hurt and heal in the same turn, they're the best to solo the game with.
And finally there is a school that lives in between Elemental and Spiritual:
Balance: battlefield control. They have a lot of damage increasers and damage reducers, and have the capability to mess with the powers of any of the other schools.
While each class does have it's unique and specific niche, they do all have the same main function: summon a monster to hit your enemy. All the combat in the game is done in a summoning circle where you take turns summoning monsters to hit each other. Each side can have up to 4 allies at a time (are we sensing a number theme yet).
Each enemy in the game has an assigned school that they belong to. Casting spells from the same school as them does less damage, while spells from the opposite school are stronger. Opposites are as follows:
Life and Death
Fire and Ice
Myth and Storm
Balance is a special snowflake that has no opposite :)
Your ability to cast spells depends on your Mana, which can be restored with blue wisps of magic floating around the world. Your ability to not be dead depends on your health, which can be restored with red health wisps.
Most spells that you cast, especially damaging spells, have a chance to "fizzle" or fail to cast. It's like missing in a pokemon game. This is the bane of every player's existence.
There are also Astral Schools later that do other things, but I ain't got there yet, so it's whatever.
Extracurriculars:
There are a number of other fun things you can do in Wizard101 that don't involve saving the world:
PvP: player versus player combat! Get the shit beaten out of you by people with more time and money! For fun! Beat the shit out of other people and win arena tickets, which can buy you cool prizes like better gear!
Pets: You can have a number of adorable little animal companions that, if you take good care of, will help you in combat! Some of them cast spells on their own, some of them give you extra spells to cast, some of them have passive abilities that increase your strength, and all of them will get more helpful the more you train them. You train them via minigames, like teaching them to dance or having them eat snacks off a stage or FIRING THEM OUT OF CANONS (amongst other questionable activities).
Gardening: Take care of the weirdest assortment of magical plants you've ever seen, in exchange for harvesting them for money and crafting ingredients and treasure cards and stuff. All of them are puns btw. Like. I have laugh-o-dils, despairagus, baby carrots (literal screaming baby carrots in diapers), and dandelions (which have actual lion faces) to name a few.
Fishing: Pull weird magical pun-based fish out of the water and sell them for exorbitant amounts of cash or stick them in your aquarium or something!
Monstrology: Study various creature types by killing them a lot until you become an expert and can either summon them as minions, stick them in your house, or just get EXTRA good at killing them.
Crafting: Use natural ingredients you found across the spiral (reagents) to make better gear yourself!
There's also photomancy, but that's just a glorified screenshot feature and we all know it.
NPCs:
Me and everybody else who plays this game is fucking obsessed with all of the non-player characters in both games. There are so many of them though, and they're so different from each other, that you're better off just asking who's who every time I post about one.
Pirate101:
While the Wizard is off being a tragic chosen one saving the spiral from various world-ending threats, there are other adventures going on underneath their nose! Pirate101 takes place at the same time and in the same universe as Wizard101, but never interacts beyond vague references.
The basic spoiler-free plot of this one is that you are a young orphan who got thrown into prison after crossing the Clockwork Armada, a tyrannical army of steampunk clockwork robots who want to conquer the world and end our God Given Right to steal shiny things (and also suppress free will or something. Idk. I never got that far).
You're broken out of jail by eccentric pirate captain Boochbeard and his monkey first mate Mr. Gandry, drag a fellow captive along with you, beat up one of the high-ranking members of the Armada, and are taken to the pirate safe haven of skull island. You're introduced to it's steward, the successful and retired pirate Captain Avery, who immediately enlists you as his errand boy/girl/goblin thing. You meet one of the first companions of your crew, Bonnie Anne, and together you run some turncoat sharks out of town.
After proving yourself to Avery and getting swindled out of a real ship, you basically spend the rest of the game chasing after untold gold and riches, beating up the Clockwork Armada, and helping out unfortunate souls where you can.
The critical difference between wizard and pirate though: The wizard makes temporary NPC acquaintances and even a few true friends, but they're always left to fight alone with just themselves (and a few other wizards if you're playing the game multiplayer, as intended). Meanwhile, the pirate is collecting ragtag companions for their motley crew like they're pokemon cards. Some of them are looking for adventure, others money, others freedom or a new life, and a lot of them just feel like they owe you because you beat them up.
All of these NPCs join your crew and you can have up to 3 of them in a fight with you, in addition to a pet. They all have highly entertainig personalities and different sets of abilities that are useful in different scenarios.
Pirate101's combat is much more up close and personal, playing more like chess where you have a bunch of different pieces that you have to strategically move around to hit different attacks with.
The different classes of pirate, which are determined by which crime got you in jail at the beginning of the game, are as follows:
Musketeers (my fave): guns and traps. The idea is that you don't have to get too close with them.
Witchdoctor: magic! They function sort of similarly to wizards in wizard101, but they can also hit things over the head with their staff and get stabbed, so no they don't.
Privateers: Healing, boosting, and commanding other pirates
Bucanners: Big sword that hits one thing very hard (and also big defense) at the cost of more agility and freedom to move.
Swashbuckler: Also hitting things, but less defense and health in exchange for more agility.
Pirate101 also has ship combat. While Wizard has convenient magical teleporters to move you between worlds, Pirate101 said "get in your boat and drive there yourself." You basically fire canonballs at each other until one ship gets damaged so badly it stops moving and gets boarded, at which point you transition to regular combat.
Pirate101 is in general, the neglected younger sibling. Kingsisle doesn't pay a quarter as much attention to Pirate, but it's still really good.
Apart from the companions and the combat, the biggest difference in pirate is probably your lack of supervision. You don't constantly have people glaring over your shoulder and telling you what to do, you just have a ragtag gang of misfits and a general order to "get money, don't die, and don't be a dick." The pirates get to be very chaotic in comparison to the wizards.
Holy mackeral, that was a lot. Anyway, I played both games a lot as a kid and spent my summer allowance on memberships for them. Now that I have an adult brain and adult money and am a lot better at video games, I have returned to enjoy them again, and I am dragging my brother along with me (don't worry, he's having fun too).
I highly recommend that you play them both, they're very fun. But this post should be a good guideline if you don't want to put that much investment into it, but still want to have half a clue what I'm talking about when I bring up either game. Thanks so much for asking!

Okay so there's a chance my LARP character is going to be entering the funniest plot he'll ever be in.
So, he captains a ship. He has a crew of fellow players he works with. One of those crew members comes from a family of prominent scholars (functionally nobility) who REALLY don't approve of the life their child is leading. Naturally, they hate my guts as a person who they see as putting their child in damger.
My character is also an accomplished alchemist. A close friend and collobarator with the local alchemy guildmaster.
Some time ago, we all sat down to a tea party with my crewmate's parents. The guildmaster tricked the mom into drinking a potion that make her think she's a frog for five minutes, after which she kicked us out and decided she truly hates both of us.
At this most recent game, guess who's coming to visit. It's crewmate's mom! She is here to demand that her kid do something useful for the family, and that means umwanted political marriage. Me and the guildmaster couldn't resist crashing the discussion so we hear this is happening. Crewmate is very obviously unhappy with the idea.
As they're about to escort their mother away I tell them quietly "if you want an escape hatch I have an idea."
They come back, ask me what the idea is. I suggest they just marry me because I will expect nothing of them and this is purely to provide a handy block against mom being pushy. I make it very clear this is not a romantic gesture I'm attempting to make.
They tell me that the guildmaster has already offered them the exact same thing. I should at this point mention that the gulldmaster is very definitely not the romantic type either.
So what we have here is a situation where there's a "love" triangle where not one person involved feels any romantic or sexual attraction to anyone else involved, we're all just kind of coworkers who get along well, but SOMEBODY needs to be paired off by the end because that's what we need for the fraud to work.

Before you wonder, no. I didn't know that Imp goes by They/Them. Before you ask. I was blocked before I could read what they said, but for starters. No. Before someone asked, never harassed them. They pulled the same thing against Ex as well. Come on mate, I wouldn't spend my time harassing someone, if your idea of me harassing others for wanting a explanation is harassment, then I don't know, also if you want to know what's in my server rules?
I made it clear that harassment is no bueno, I told people not to send harassment, people have told me they had problems with them. I find it hilarious they are now trying to act like they are scared of me.
Bro, I had someone doxxed me and I THOUGHT I had been swatted. I am someone who you slandered, had stirred drama in and once I finished crashing out about, you freaked out?
The video was made to visually help and the text was for people who don't want yapping. I tried to appeal to you, but you expected me to understand your comfortable.
I understand now, it's not about how anyone else feels, it's about how YOU feel. Even when people in the past told you, you were wrong. You tried to grandstand about it, I am surprised you had KNOWN what I said, you have a history of block evading or even downright sending people to do your work for me, what's wrong? You can't talk to me face to face?
I am someone with 285 followers, 2 people came forwards with information regarding your conduct, people have told me in passing they had issues with you, I went to one of them to collobarate a claim you made back during a situation where a user vague posted about you. They told me you didn't reach out to them.
I offered to help you talk to them. You denied it. You didn't want to settle things, this is a pattern stop trying to play the victim. I am not stupid.
You generally don't deserve a platform if you are going to misuse it to punch down on small creators. You could have SOLVED this if you talked to me, I find it really upsetting that you see no problem in telling me an autistic person how to feel about a word.
I feel like you misunderstand what I am saying so let me tell you in my grandma's language.
This is the final time I am saying, accountability? Hardly know er! Next time please talk to me personally instead of gathering a personal army. Imp, how old are you?
I am 20. I am 20 years old. How old are you? How many people are following you? Me? Around 285! That is less then what I think you have, how can someone like me have THIS amount of time, you were spoonfed info from Anons who lied about what I said, and I cannot be arsed to tell you what I have in store.
Your behavior is childish, I feel unsafe around you considering you made it time and time again how awful you are at confrontation. I tried being nice, I TRIED to be considerate but no. Some people cannot catch a hint.
So here's my final word.
Impperfect lied, they had a pattern of doing this, I am a mentally disabled victim of prior bullying who wants to talk to people who has problems, instead I get this issue, I get a bigger Content Creator lying about me to other people who have no idea that this is a person WHO had history of them doing this. I am not shitting up the tags this is going straight to my top ten hits.
Also, I have a video explaining my situation coming out so people can actually finally hear what's wrong with me, people REALLY need to understand me. People have issues with me not expressing myself properly so a video is out.

2023 Reading Wrap-Up
Big annual reading wrap up post!!! Here's my 2023 in reading:
I’ve attempted reading 50 books a few times since graduating college, but this year was the first time it actually stuck. In fact, I actually completed 53 titles! Since this is a tad longer than my previous wrap up posts, I’ll have the full list at the end up of this after some commentary.
Here’s some of the most impactful titles from 2023:
The first book I read this year gets a special mention. I read a good handful of sequential fiction this year, but Seance Tea Party was the most impactful. It might be the most impactful growing up story I’ve ever read.
Kings of Wyld: I think this is the most fun I’ve had with ‘high’ fantasy in a long time. A classic fantasy adventure delivered via the thinnest metaphor for an 80s hair metal band that ends up being one of the most heartfelt meditations on family, aging, legacy, and fatherhood that you’ll ever come across. Dirty, crass, hilarious, violent, and beautiful.
Veniss Underground: Yet another masterful fever dream from the man that, for me personally, defines the concepts of weird and experimental. Predating Vandermeer’s Annihilation, Veniss Underground is consuming exploration of story and form and while pushing us to the very edges of what makes a novel and what makes a person.
Hyperion: As anyone who knows me knows, I am a slut for stories about stories. I think this book was one of the smartest written science fiction books in my library. To read Hyperion is to begin exploring a few particular trailheads leading into literature, technology, conflict, and the human condition. I’ll definitely be exploring the rest of the Cantos in the years to come. (Be careful researching Simmons himself though. You will be disappointed.)
Shadow of the Torturer & The Claw of the Conciliator (the first two volumes of Gene Wolfe’s The Book of the New Sun): This was the most intellectually challenging of the things I read this year. It’s the first time I read something and then immediately watched multiple YouTube video essays just to grasp fully grasp. But, like a lot of the more challenging texts this year, it is so worth it. Will have to come back to these many times.
The Left Hand of Darkness: beautiful and challenging and enriching as well, this will also take multiple readings to begin to grok it.
The View from the Cheap Seats: Selected Nonfiction: necessary for any Neil Gaiman fan to read. It was awesome diving into how Neil sees the world, the stories he’s encountered, the experiences he’s had, and the insane amount interesting famous people he’s friends with.
The Fragile Threads of Power: less impactful and more just plain ol’ exciting, this was a brilliant return to world first introduced by Schwab’s Darker Shades.
Nostalgia Reads:
So You Want to be a Wizard: maybe the best alternative to Harry Potter. Beautiful and consistent world building that makes sense with stories and characters that invite us to explore who we are in the context of the greater world (and worlds!) around us. Reading the Young Wizards series in elementary school had a deep effect on me that still resonates to this day.
City of Bones: held up surprisingly well? Fun mythology and delightfully angsty characters.
A Wizard of Earthsea: hadn’t read this since senior year when I bought it with the money I won in a micro fiction writing contest, and it was so wonderful to revisit the archipelago.
The Collobaration: a powerful play that now contains one of my dream roles.
Certainly not the first time I’ve consumed The Sandman epic, but the audible versions were exquisite and brought the story to mw in a whole new way. Same thing with full cast audio version American Gods.
Most disturbing: Amygdalatropolis. Don’t read this. No, I’m serious. Not reading this book is an act of self care. You’ll only hurt your own feelings (and body and brain) if you read this book.
Second most disturbing: Tender is the Flesh. Reading this one is also harmful, but you should it.
Most disappointing: Paradise-1 by David Wellington. An interesting premise with a couple of fun bits of world building, it was ultimately defeated by a lack of internal unity and subpar editing.
The full list:
1. *Seance Tea Party by Reimina Yee
2. *Crushed by Don Zolidis

Addendum for business: I will no longer be posting on the other three blogs (food, books, and tv/film) related) as it's too much for me to have it all divided up. This will now be my main/only blog

Ten years in the making this album, Rejoice is well worth the wait 👌🏻 It’s a groove laden, celebratory, thoughtful, loving, danceable collection from two of the greatest figures in music. Sadly both Tony and Hugh never lived long enough to take this beauty on tour 😢😢 It is a glowing tribute to them both, what a final album. A reminder that this November we will be hosting the second DAENERYS APPRECIATION MONTH in collobaration with @asoiafdaenerysdaily. Every day we will be posting and reblogging edits, artworks, metas, etc. based on the canon information we have about Dany.
This is a book only event, so if you’d like to join us in exploring Dany’s character again, please, take a look at the list of prompts. We track: #danymonth2022

Hi! I love your synastry explanations. I was hoping you could explain what it means when North Node falls in 1st and 7th house in synastry. I can’t find much info about it. My NN falls in my bf 1st and his falls in 7th house. I read somewhere it means our South Nodes falls in 7th and 1st as well? What does that mean? Thank you!
Hello! Thank you so much dear!! <3
I've made a post about conjunctions to the angles in synastry before, you can read it both here. The conjunction to an angle will simply make the energy of said overlay much stronger, since the planet/object person becomes a literal manifestation of the planets/objects energy in the angle person's life, but the themes mentioned in the post are still the same!
And yes, that means that the SN will fall into the opposing house as well! Hence, with his SN in your 1st house their might be immediate feelings of familarity, and thus a general feeling of high compatibility! But to be fair since we talk about the SN, there can also be moments in which you can feel stuck in a rut, the SN person can prevent you from expressing yourself freely perhaps, preventing you from moving forward - feelings of discomfort, fear, etc. might rise easier to the surface here though, so it can also be easier to communicate and work on it. With SN in the 7th house collobaration comes easy, which is a good thing! Both find it easy to come together and socialize/worm together in the world, thus, the 7th house person sees the SN person as someone very valuable usually.

Hello there! I've already asked other blogs for their opinion and I respect all responses but I like reading different thoughts. I was just reading one of the Smartpass stories "Vol4: The streets of corruption part 2" and since English is not my mother tongue I would like to ask you for some clarification if you don't mind :)
The part Levi says this: “The smuggling of black market goods, the assassination of business rivals… there are plenty of rich who use (the service of) criminals. Because they are professional they are difficult to trace, even in the unlikely event that one gets caught, it is enough to feign complete and utter ignorance. If soldiers who are too earnest try and determine the root source, (those involved will) give money to the army corps as benefactors, such things are not unusual.”
I'm confused by what he exactly means "Because they are professional they are difficult to trace, even in the unlikely event that one gets caught, it is enough to feign complete and utter ignorance." Does he mean they have to lower their heads to the nobles and let them whatever their dirty work because if they keep silent the nobles would give them (the SC) money as ransom? I came up to this conclusion because Petra in the following tries to calm Eren down by saying that it's true it's dirty money but they'd need it for the corps activities expenses. I could be totally wrong and maybe Levi is just talking about the nobles and no collaboration with the nobles but I would very appreciate it if you could clarify! Sorry for such a long ask and thanks in advance!
hello!
It means roughly as you think, and the narrative of other versions are also similar: even if the soldiers of SC found out that some aristocrats are involved in criminal, they will remain silent in order not to offend them who provided their funds.
Of course, they did not collobarate with the aristocrats to commit crimes, but they also chose not to expose their crimes.
