I was sorta excited for the colour scans of JoJolands, and I understand they need a reference for the colour palettes, BUT WHAT IS THIS!??! The fan colourings I’ve seen had better visuals than this! I mean, I am happy Dragona is wearing orange, and Paco’s hair colour is sorta cool, but the rest besides all that IS AWFUL.

The colours Araki uses for his volume/ultra jump covers are AESTHETICS!!! I know Shueisha has done something like this before, but my goodness. It hurts my eyes. They could’ve done better

Palette 18: Abyss Walker

An old battle worn warrior having served along side Battlewinner herself, finds herself finally with an egg of her own. Not wanting the dragonet to grow up in a crumbling home, she leaves as the backup dragonets of destiny arrive. She flies across the ocean with her egg and a strange egg mastermind was experimenting on. Reaching a cave in the shear cliff side on the edge of skywing territory she makes a home for her new, hopefully two, little dragonets.

Fun fact: this was actually started before the Xion piece but I struggled with the background for so long that it’s come out later. It was supposed to be bigger but had to reduce its size to finish it

I definitely learnt some things drawing in a limited colour palette for a landscape piece. And using references…

It's a bit too late for me to post my monstersona for Halloween but I used this colour palette created by SeesawSiya, so I'm technically just in time for Huevember! (I didn't strictly stick to the colours, I hope that's still fine).
