A Beautiful Dream // A Harsh Reality

AKA As the World Falls Down from the Labyrinth movie works way too well with this Arc of Twst (especially if you’re a MalleYuu shipper)

AKA I come up with a theoretical Great Concept™️ but get bored of drawing it so I rush to finish it. This was supposed to be an animated GIF overlap where you could see the reality glitch onto screen…but again, boredom

I…would like to revisit this. But not right now. I need to let it sit and focus on other stuff. It’s still a concept I enjoy and it would be nice to Draw Malleus in Jareth’s actual garb properly

I really like the look of the Melusines in Genshin. They give off a strong Mascot aura and are just adorable

The Ever After High series did have its faults in writing but man, I hate how it basically got nuked out of existence by the Disney Descendants IP. Maybe it was the soft fairytale aesthetics? But oh well, it do be like that

Heaven forbid a girl dips her toes into forbidden magic to resurrect her girlfriend “best friend” and do other questionable things for the greater good. It’s not the end of the world…right?

I originally did this for Mermay but then lost the motivation for it. I usually do one piece for Mermaid Month but I was a wee bit overwhelmed this year.

Not going to lie, I’m not impressed by it and it’s a reminder that I really need to work on anatomy

Urgh, I don’t know how Hoyoverse managed to sucker me into their games but here we are. I make sure to not play Gachas by default but watching their games is good stuff for when I’m drawing/working

Also, it’s clear that I have a type; somewhat altruistic with a disposition to put people a Dreamstate for the Greater Good™️. Had intended to draw Malleus as well but was getting bored with this one so that’s why it’s only Sunday. Should draw him and Malleus together properly in the future

It’s summer, so it’s time to pretend that I will actually watch the entirety of Gravity Falls before September rolls around…ha ha ha…

A fairly simple colour palette challenge today. So many of the challenges I do end up being overly complex so I wanted a break from putting in a lot of work. Could be better but I still like how some elements turned out

I’m not going to lie, I had hoped we’d be able to fight the other students in a puppet form in the Playful Land event but alas…

I also wanted things to go in a slightly different direction for it too. But the outfits are fun if not the usual Gacha-type finickiness.

I am a sucker for a good Moroccan Tile pattern, but I wonder if I went overboard on this one. Trying to get through these Colour palettes really has tested my temperance. Skipped a couple of details on Malleus’s outfit because Dear Lord these Gacha characters have wayyyyy too much detail. Also posing is hard.

This is what happens when you muck around with the pots, Grim. At least it gave Malleus a good chuckle

I thought it would be fun to make some stickers themed around the Halloween outfits in Twst, and with it being the Year of the Dragon I figured it would fun to start off with Mal. But then I hit an art block, was unable to finish it for Lunar New year, and didn’t like how the lineless style I do wasn’t looking great. So I compromised and just slapped something together for the end of May with the intention to redraw it in the future. Wait, what do you mean it’s June now?

I was watching some old Adventure Time clips back in… January, based on dates and thought that Donald Glover would be nice to VA Lilia in a theoretical English Dub. Plus Marshall Lee and Lilia are pretty similar. Traumatised from the War™️, Bat themed, loves music, bit of a prankster and a habit of floating. So I decided to give Lilia Marshall lee’s clothes (plus a few accessories) and his Ax Bass

Also drew Lilia with darker skin so he’d resembled Marshall Lee in Fionna and Cake

It’s Easter Monday today, but I actually finished back in February. Since the concept of Christianity is non-existent in TWST, Bunny Day definitely is the closest Easter equivalent (if only in aesthetics)

Man, I really want to buy the new Persona 3 Reloaded game (especially with the recent news of the DLC) but I need to be thrifty with my spending habits right now. It looks fun!

Gave up on anatomy. Just want to get through these now, even if the quality is not what I usually want

While the winter period is coming to an end, there’s still enough cold days on the Horizon.

It would be nice if the Stargazer event came back, but I doubt it.

I think it would be quite interesting if Malleus had to do it one year and the conflict of him granting peoples’ wishes but being forced to not do it without any of his magic/powers (maybe Lilia challenges him to do it to connect with others). And then there’s the issue he scares away most of the student populace…

I had the intention of experimenting with screen tones on this one, but then I said “screw it” and just did my usual pen scribbles

Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch is definitely an interesting one to look back on and examine. Manga about mermaids is pretty uncommon so one does what they can.

Crazy to think it was my first exposure to the “idol” genre in anime.
