Honey I'm Home
Tumblr media
୨୧- Just a little slice of life of a hard working dad, his tired wife and their twin girls.
୨୧ WC: 900
Tumblr media
Jungkook pushes open the door to your small two-bedroom flat, his keys jingling in the door which attracted the two little girls on the other side to come running instantly.
The soft patter of their socked feet hitting the wooden floors as they rushed to his as fast as they could. "Daddy!" The girls squealed. Jungkook crouched down, his once drained expression replaced with one full of delight.
"Girls!" He exclaims, taking the both of them in each of his arms, listening to their adorable laughter as he engulfed them into his tight embrace. "Daddy! Can't breathe!" Aria squeaks from where her head rested against his chest. Always the dramatic one of the two.
Jungkook laughs, apologizing and letting them go. Aria runs back to the kitchen where he could only assume the source of that flavourful scent was coming from. Meanwhile Hye-Ji stayed back to show him the flowers she'd picked just for him.
"Are these for me?" Bending at the waist to collect the crushed dandelions that were once in the grip of her fist. She nods with the brightest smile he's ever seen.
Picking her up as well, letting her rest on his side with one hand, careful not to ruffle the very elaborate princess dress she was wearing as he finally begins to make his way to the kitchen. "Thank you so much princess, I'll make sure to add this to my collection." He places a kiss to the crown of her head.
There you were. His eyes seemed to soften once they landed on you. In a button up and your favourite pair of mom jeans." Hi baby," He gets the chance to peck your lips briefly before Hye-Ji was asking to be put down.
She quickly ran off to her sister in the living room where there were colouring pages ripped out, building blocks all over the place, a box of crayons in the laundry bin full of clothes that were waiting to be folded.
"Hi." You manage a smile before resuming your blank stare into the pot of tomato sauce for the spaghetti that you'd been stirring for god knows how long. "Is everything okay?" Disregarding your mundane 'yeah' he know something is up.
"Honey, what's wrong? Talk to me." You sigh, dropping your shoulders, finally looking at him. He was in his typical work-wear for his day job as a private banker meanwhile he works part-time nights as a mail courier.
"Today was a bad day." Letting your head fall into your husband's firm chest in defeat. His hands raised to hold you in his arms the same way the have been for the last 5 years.
The shiny silver band of his wedding ring catching the light for a moment as he gently rubbed your back. "You wanna talk about it?"
You pout softly, "There's nothing to say, look at the state of the house. Hye-Ji turned the house upside down looking for her dress this morning. Then I took them to the grocery store and Aria got lost." Jungkook's eyebrows raise, but you weren't done.
"I finally got them to sleep for an hour while I did some laundry, and then I ended up falling asleep myself, waking up to crayons and toys everywhere, and Hye-Ji was crying because she missed you and then I started crying because I missed you too and-"
You couldn't believe this was making you tear up. The day was hectic and the fact you'd have to do it all over again tomorrow. Jungkook hushes you in a comforting manner, practically swaddling you in his arms. "I'm sorry I couldn't be here," you sniffle, stepping back.
"It's not your fault. You work two jobs. it's just hard sometimes." You admit and Jungkook gets an idea. "Go." He says and your brow arches, "I'll finish dinner, and take care of the girls. Go rest, or read that Jasper Wilde book you've been wanting to read. Please. Let me help, you deserve it." He pecks your forehead and you weren't going to fight him on it.
Leaving the kitchen and the responsibilities to him. Telling yourself that it would only be a thirty minute nap but it turned into 2 hours. By the time you walked back into the kitchen, it looked like you'd walked into a whole new house.
Everything was neat and tidy, the girls were sitting on the ground with a bowl of abandoned grapes shared between them as they watched Moana with an entranced gaze.
The laundry basket was gone, the floors were clean and the air smelled of soft fresh linens and cinnamon. Looking back to the kitchen where Jungkook quietly tidied up, humming softly to himself. You stood hidden from where you were admiring your little family.
You may not have had much but you had everything you needed right here. "You're amazing you know that?" Jungkook says as you approached him. "I should be saying that to you." You counter.
"No. I mean it, Y/n. Having two jobs is easy, but doing what you do everyday is a job for a saint. I appreciate everything you do for us, I love you so much." His lips pressing against your forehead while your heart felt so full of love. "I love you." You say.
"I have to potty!" Aria declares and the both of you look at each other.
"Not it."
"Not it."

Ice cream date
Theme : Fluff
Thank you so much for your request, anon! 🩷🫶🏻 A short break from angst before I start writing for another angst request! I loveeeee writing for dad!charles soo adorable! 🥹
﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Charles?” You tilted your head to your side once your husband picked up the call.
“Yes, honey?”
You looked back facing your nail lady and pointed at the pastel lavender colour before bringing your phone back to your ear. “Can you pick up your little daughter from the daycare today? I don’t think my nail appointment would end in 15 minutes.”
“Yeah, of course. Don’t worry about her. Enjoy your day out with your friends, okay?Let me know if you need anything.”
“Thank you, honey! I love you!” You ended the call and went back picking different charms for your new nails.
﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎
“Dada!”
“Hey, baby! I missed you.” Charles crouched down and picked up his baby girl into his arms and nodded as an act of acknowledgement and gratitude to the daycare worker as he turned away to make their way to the car.
“Sir, may I have a word with you?” He turned back and raised his brow in question to the sudden interference.
“Yeah? Yeah, sure. Is there anything wrong?”
Charles was told how his little girl was caught scribbled on her classmate’s notebook using her crayons. The notebook was actually used for kids and tutors for daily activities which required paper and pencils. Not only did his little girl scribbled on her classmate’s notebook, she also shred a few pages.
“We left the children a few minutes and came back to see the other student crying. And this is what she did.” She handed him the proof of crime and Charles was astounded. He had to continuously apologise on behalf of his daughter while Y/D/N kept on hugging his neck and giggling in his arms, completely oblivious to the informal parent-teacher meeting.
“Dada, I want choco this time!” She squealed in her car seat, elated for her daddy and daughter ice-cream date which had become a ritual every time Charles picked her up.
“No ice cream this time, baby.”
“Eh? Why? But, dada, I want ice-cream!” She stopped clapping her hands and caught Charles’s gaze on her through the rear view mirror.
“You were not a good girl today so you don’t get ice cream. We are going home and there’ll be no movie night for you too.” Charles saw she jutted her bottom lips out and whimpered.
“Did you say sorry to your friend?” Charles looked back into the rearview mirror and saw she was wiping her tears off with her arms. “Baby, dada’s asking you. Did you say sorry?”
She didn’t reply as she kept on sobbing but she actually nodded to his question but Charles didn’t catch that so he thought she was ignoring him.
“No cartoon after this and go straight to your room. I’m telling mommy what you did today and she will scold you even more.” He had always been very gentle with her before she was even born. He never had a sister nor any girls from his family members. When you told him you were pregnant with a girl, you knew right away he would make her the centre of his world.
﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎
When you came home, Charles was in the bathroom while your daughter was nowhere to be seen. You usually would always came home with your husband and daughter cuddling on the couch watching Disney movies.
“Baby?” You had found her in her room with puffy eyes. Sitting on her little bed, you brushed her hair away from her face and she hugged your middle. “Who made you cry?” You cupped on her chubby cheeks and softly rubbed your thumbs across her cheekbone, wiping the freshly tears away.
“Dada hates me…”
“Who said that? He loves you so much, baby.”
She ended up telling you everything that happened, which made her cry again and you had to continuously wiped her tears and told her it was fine. You had learnt that she was upset because she was looking forward to her little ice cream date and was turned down by her dad without being told why. She was upset because she had never seen her daddy being so mad at her and she didn’t understand why.
﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎
“I missed you.”
You were making dinner when Charles hugged you from behind and you could smell the scent of lavender from his shower gel when he dropped trail of kisses on your neck.
“Did you get into a fight with your other girlfriend?”
“What?” He broke the hug and went to your side, leaning against the kitchen counter with a frown. “Did she complain to you? Honey, she ruined her classmate’s notebook. How can I not ground her.” He stole a slice of mango that you were cutting and you slapped his hand away.
“Did you actually ask her what happened?” You raised your brows when he looked dubious to the questions.
“Did she tell you what actually happened?”
“Yeah, she did. And I think you are in trouble this time, honey.” You took a slice of mango and put it in your mouth, chewing it while looking very thrilled meanwhile your husband looked like he was going through every single possibilities in his head.
“Oh! Hi baby! Are you hungry?” You exclaimed when your little girl approached your little time with your husband with her fluffy friend, Mr. Boo.
“Baby, do you want to set the table with dada? Like always?” He crouched down and stretched his arms, expecting her little girl to come running as she usually did but she didn’t. She went to your side instead and hugged your leg, struggling a little when Mr. Boo almost slipped off her little arms.
“Oh, shit.”
“Language, Charles!” You glowered at him. “Baby, let daddy set the table alone while you helped me stir the soup, alright?” You picked her up as she shrieked with laughter, leaving a peck on your cheek and tried to grasped on the ladle, completely ignoring your husband.
“Can I get a kiss too, baby?” Charles went to her side and leaned in to kiss but she quickly turned her head away, hiding her face in your neck. “Honey, help me here.”
“Don’t involve me.”
Charles didn’t get a kiss and he stopped asking when your daughter got into a fit crying as she got annoyed from the constant bugging. When she walked to the dining table, Charles pulled the chair by his side, as she usually wanted to sit by her daddy but this time, she went straight to your side. You had to hold your laugh seeing your husband looked defeated with the constant ignoring game.
“Baby, say ah!” He cut the steak into a smaller piece and stretched out his arm that was holding the fork to feed his little girl but she shook her head without looking at him.
“No thank, dada.”
“Wow, I just got rejected over and over. Honey, can you–“ You shook your head without letting him to finish his questions.
“I can’t help you, Charles. Serve you right.”
﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎
You had left your little girl alone in the living room while she got busy munching on her animal shaped biscuits as you went to the kitchen to hug your husband from the back while he was washing the dishes, your head leaned against his body.
“Did she make you upset, honey?”
You heard him heaved a sigh which made you chuckle. “You are so silly. Just go and apologise, she’ll be fine.”
“Flirting you was way easier. Ouch!” He winced when you slapped him on his back. “Honey, she’s 2! Where did learn how to sulk like a literal teenage girl?”
“She probably learned it from me.” You leaned away when he turned his body around as he properly engulfed you back in his arms.
“Why did you teach her these bad things. Where is she, anyway?” Charles slanted forward to try to look for Y/D/N and you pulled his face closer to peck on his cheek.
“She’s eating her snacks. Go and talk to her, baby. I don’t think she’s still cranky.”
“Wish me luck.” He tilted your chin and brushed his lips on yours, patting your bum as he left the kitchen.
﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎﹎
“Hi, baby. Can I get one?”
Her small hand was in a fist, full from grabbing the biscuits along with her little chubby cheeks. When Charles took a seat by her side and asked for one, she was contemplating, her other hand opening and closing as she looked on her little plate back to her dad. Once she came to a decision, she took two pieces of the biscuits and handed it to him.
“Can you feed daddy instead?”
She lifted up her hand and put the biscuits into his mouth, giggling when Charles tried to chomp on her hands.
“Are you still mad at daddy?”
“Not much. A little bit, I think. Is dada still mad at me?” She pinched her chubby fingers together and scrunched her nose while answering the question.
“Daddy’s not mad at you, baby. I’m sorry, okay? Can you forgive me?” He swept off the crumbs on her cheeks with his hand as she put another biscuits into her mouth.
“My friend ruined my book first, dada.” She wept the back of her hand against her cheeks and Charles immediately leaned in to stole a peck on her cheek. She looked like a little chipmunk, he couldn’t not kiss those little face.
“What else did your friend did, baby?”
“She threw my book away and I was upset so I did bad things back to her. But I said sorry to her.” Charles’s heart was swollen with guilt when he saw her little pout.
“Next time, don’t do that to others. Just let daddy knows if someone’s being mean to you, okay? Are we good now, baby?”
“I think so.” She wiped off her hands once she was done eating and grinned. “I finished!”
“Can daddy get a hug?” She pushed her little chair back to move closer to her dad and wrapped her arms around his neck. Charles stood up with her in his arms and began attacking her face with kisses, making her laughed.
“Oh? You guys are back to best friends now, I see.”
“Mama!” She ducked down and pecked on your cheek as Charles pulled you closer by his freehand.
“You got crumbs all over your face, darling. Did daddy say sorry already?” You brushed off the leftover crumbs on her face and fixed her bangs.
“Yeah, dada said sorry to me.”
“Dada owe you an ice cream date, right, baby?” You poked on his waist, causing him to twitch.
“I want chocolate ice cream!” She squealed with exhilaration, causing both you and Charles to chortle.
“Can mommy come too?”
Charles shook his head immediately and turned your daughter away. “Mommy can’t come. It’s only for us, right?”
“That’s mean!” You scowled and slapped on his arm.

Maybe when you're older
Katniss and Peeta Age: 5-6
Tumblr media
“You better give that back Colton, or else.” the dark-haired girl sneered.
“Or what?” the older boy taunted.
“I’ll stick one of my daddy’s arrows in your eyes,” the girl retorted, glaring into his flesh like an angry bear from one of her daddy’s stories.
Th older boy bent down and tugged at her pigtails. Katniss’ face flushed bright red, she felt heat coursing through her veins. She unclenched her tight jaw and threw herself over the older boy’s arm and bit down, hard.
Colton let out a let out a loud yelp, dropped the crayon and scurried like a scared mouse.
“Here,” Katniss said, handing the orange to the blond-haired boy behind her.
“Thank you," the boy replied, attempting his best smile in between tears.
“Don’t cry. I got your crayon back, it’s all okay now.” Her silver eyes softened as she watched long steaks run down the pale boy’s face.
The boy nodded, lifting his shirtsleeve to wipe his wet face.
“Come, you can sit with me and Madge,” Katniss offered with a sweet smile.
The boy beamed up at her and grabbed her shirtsleeve as they strolled down the lunchroom.
After that day the boy and the girl followed each other everywhere like lost puppies. He never let go over of her hand and neither did she.
---
“My daddy took me swimming last weekend, “the girl said.
“I wish my daddy would do anything besides bake all the time. Was is nice? What colour was the water?”
“It was  sooo fun. I keep begging daddy to take me again, but he keeps saying something about the Capitol adding more work time. It was so pretty Peeta, so many colours I can’t explain. It was blue and green and clean and sparkly and I just love it, love it.”
“Can I come with you next time,” the boy raised his head expectantly.
“Mmm, I don’t know. I’ll have to ask daddy.” She said, watching the boy intently as he unwrapped a piece of bread. Her mouth watered, she shifted her gaze quickly trying not to give away the fact that she hadn’t had a proper meal in days. But the boy knew her better, he pressed a piece of bread into her hand as her stomach let out a loud lurch.
“Thank you.”
She had watched her parents kiss multiple time, she never quite understood why they did it, but at that moment looking at her best friend’s face an idea crept into her mind.
Katniss grabbed both his hands, leaned up close and pressed her tiny lips against his. They both pulled back surprised, flushed and embarrassed.
---
They sat by side in art class, Peeta was immersed in painting his tree. While Katniss half-heartedly drew scribbles on her notebook, peaking at her best friend every so often.
She leaned in close, brought her hands to his eyelashes and stroked them, The boy pulled back surprised
“You’re eyelashes are very pretty.”
“Thank you.”
The boy turned around and kept colouring his tree a dark shade of green, the girl’s hair brushed against his shoulders as she watched him with droopy eyes.
Peeta turned once again and twirled her red ribbon against his index finger, the girl lifted her head, smiling and unwound her ribbon.
“Here.” She said, scruffily wrapping the string around his wrist.
---
“Daddy, I like a boy”.
“Really sweety? What’s his name?” The tall, dark-haired man asked his little girl.
“Peeta.”
The tall man laughed deeply thinking about Mr Mellark’s deep affections for his wife when they were kids.
“Daddy can I stay with him, he has bunk bed and bread and crayons and everything.”
“Won’t you miss daddy? And what about Prim? How will she fall asleep if you don’t sing to her.” The man pouted.
“Hmm. I can’t leave Prim, you’re right. Maybe when I’m older?” The girl earnestly questioned the silver eyed man.
“Maybe when you’re older.”

obsesseddd with the thought of kidnapped reader living in the cabin soap and ghost dragged her out to keep her in, being given colouring books and games as rewards for being the sweetest best behaved girl in the world, maybe they give her minecraft or lego’s as a way to distract her and keep her little mind busy while they work around you doing things around the house or fixing things, johnny lies on the sofa with you while you play, his face so close to yours asking you what your building and what each thing is and requesting a kiss every five seconds, making you giggle and blush because he just loves you so much and can’t get enough of you. he wants you in the house on the sofa playing games and colouring in all day every day for ever and ever because you’re his best sweetest most well behaved gorgeous girl. simon watches from wherever he’s standing working and is so proud of himself for finding something that is successfully distracting you enough to giggle and laugh and let soap kiss u all over ur face instead of seizing up or making an effort to get away. you’re settling in just fine and he couldn’t be more proud of you.
to me this is very much so giving DDlg which isn't really my thing, but I do loooove how soft and nice this ask is so I'm gonna play with that aspect of it :)
this is one of those asks that applies really well to a reader who... doesn't really mind being kidnapped. two big strong men want to squirrel her away, take care of her every need and desire? uh, yes please!
but they're still soooo scary :( because they're serial killers!!!! they killed all her friends - even if her friends did end up being really mean to her after all :( they're sweet to her but they also come home covered in gore, and it's very very difficult for her to not get scared when johnny spreads that gore over her face
i really enjoy the idea of this reader forcing herself to be soft and sweet. she's so so scared, tears streaked down her face, but she's got to smile and color with her crayons when johnny sets them down in front of her.
it's a type of sadism that would really work for johnny in particular, i think. he's watching you struggle through this drowning fear to be just what he needs. and you can't fully tell if he even knows you're scared (it's obvious, but you think you're a better liar than you actually are) so you try and cover it up as well as you can.
imagining you playing with legos, or jenga or smth, and being a little shaky and scared but trying to not show it. you glance up and just see ghost, looming in the shadows, blood not washed from his hands or face, just watching you with this deeply intense look. you flinch, lose knock over your little tower or lose jenga, and cry out a little at the loud noise. simon smirks at the reaction, and johnny coos real sad and sweet at you, leans forward to stroke your head.
and you sort of condition yourself to enjoy these things. you don't love coloring at first, but... but it is kinda fun. johnny and simon seem to love your drawings (they put it on a little heavy, you think) and their endless praise feels undeniably good. is it so bad to color something you think they'll like? no, of course not.
so you let yourself enjoy the little childish things - coloring, all the stuffed animals, building little lego castles - because it does feel relaxing.
and all they want from you is your softness, your sweetness. they just want you to be their sweet little baby girl who makes her drawings for them :( give you a Bear Johnny and a Bear Simon (secret little nanny cams) so they never have to really leave your side :( make meals for you and place you on the counter, swipe batter across your nose and watch you giggle :(

・✶ 。゚[7:13pm] — gojo satoru. dad!au, gojo satoru was a sap.
Tumblr media
gojo satoru was a lot of things, he was a tease, kind of annoying even though your eyes still watch him with a certain kind of tenderness when he drawls out a terrible joke because you know it’s how he copes. he was complex, the owner of the six eyes and the limitless, a sensei at jujutsu tech, but above all of that, he was a father—a sappy one, at that.
he never used to be a vulnerable person, too used to crying in isolation or behind closed doors, but still rarely, masking his hurt with nonchalant jokes and playful remarks without realising how heavy his body felt carrying the weight of his world, but then he met you, and he finally realised that maybe, vulnerability wasn’t so daunting—so ever since, he’s never ceased to hold back.
even though now satoru’s pretty sure you can hear him sniffle in every home video he’s taken since your daughter was born, from her first word to her first steps.
he still has her first homemade father's day card from kindergarten, a drawing that's barely recognisable as your family, his family, smeared along the front page in too many colours of crayons but he still insists on keeping it in his wallet everyday, because he still remembers the way his baby girl's smile looked like both yours and his when she handed it over, and how the slight tremble of his lip gave away the fact that he was probably going to cry—again.
and now it’s just a tuesday, but satoru is so in love—he realises as he sits at the table, snorting quietly to himself because here he is—at twenty eight years old, with a daughter who’s just as much you as she is him, and you’re still the face that greets him by the door everyday when he comes home from work, because it’s still you.
he knows that if he turns around you’ll just be in the kitchen, barefoot on cold tiles and dropping a few extra sugar cubes into his coffee because you know it’s what he likes.
there’s candid photos lining the hallway and there’s one on his desk at work, three pairs of shoes at the door and a wall in the corner of your shared bedroom that’s covered in crayon even though he’s hidden it behind some old drawers so you wouldn’t see.
satoru leans back on his chair and meets your gaze from in the kitchen and you narrow your eyes when he grins at you, cheeky and a little smug before he sighs, but you know it’s less because he’s tired and more because he’s home.
his daughter is sitting in her high chair, scribbling on paper while babbling about something in sentences that aren’t quite coherent enough to understand yet while he remains in his uniform, sitting beside her and listening intently while humming out a mixture of “yeah?” and “no way!” before she turns to look at him with eyes that glimmer like his even though they’re shaped like yours and she’s giggling like she holds the worlds—his worlds happiness in her little body and satoru sniffles because he thinks that maybe she really does.
“‘toru, are you crying?” you giggle, a little suspiciously as you lean over his figure—placing down his cup of coffee onto the table infront of him before your arms are looping around his shoulders, and you feel him relax into the touch before his glassy eyes are on you and you know there’s love in your life, because they still gleam with an unfiltered look of genuine happiness as the peaks of his hair frame the warmth blooming on his cheeks.
“me? i ain’t cryin’!” he’s quick to answer and both you and your daughter hum in a way that says you’re both not convinced before her smaller voice sounds through the room.
“daddy is crying again.” she giggles, smiling at you and you snort before choosing to stay quiet, watching the corners of satoru’s lips twitch into a dopey grin that’s still cheeky, and a little proud, despite the tremble of his lips as he leans forward, resting his large palm gently on your daughters head before he shoots her an exasperated look through teary eyes.
“ay! remember who sneaks you desserts before dinner..” he tells your daughter, words hushed as if it’s a secret even though you’ve known all along but you still bat playfully at his chest — just so you can feel his hand intertwine with yours before he’s kissing you once on the wrist, then turning to place another on your cheek.
“‘toru—are you bribing our daughter with desserts?” you smile, throwing your head back and allowing yourself to laugh and satoru softens at the sound because it’s warm and pretty and sounds so much like home, that it only makes him begin to blink a little more as he breathes deep and drawls out a “would i ever do such a thing, baby? don’t you trust me?”
his voice still manages to lilt to a tease before it breaks into a laugh of his own and his daughters smile spreads just like yours does when he shoots her a teary eyed wink.
because moments like these make satoru want to live forever, the triumph after the trials and your happy little family of three on just a regular tuesday, your daughter still looks at him with stars in her eyes despite the tears in his and love hangs so tenderly around the room.
love blooms, like always and suddenly the word forever feels even more real because happiness is here—and it’s this, and satoru knows that this is the kind of love that he’d seek again and again, in this lifetime and every one after— aslong as it was with you.

more fnaf movie hcs because i adore them
mike was advised to get anxiety meds but he couldn’t afford them, he looked for more at-home remedies but they didn’t work. sometimes his anxiety gets so bad that he can’t leave the house, afraid that someone’s going to kidnap him, or take abby away from him
fully blames himself for garret, and unlike game mike, it definitely wasn’t his fault
after garret his dad stopped talking to him, he never explicitly said that he blamed mike but the way he just acted like he didn’t exist said enough. his mom still tried to be there, but he could see the look in her eyes sometimes that screamed “why couldn’t it have been you instead?”
both mike and abby prefer winter over summer, summer is nothing but hot and sweaty overstimulation and it’s basically hell
saying that, mike doesn’t look forward to winter, the cold weather = heating bills that he can’t afford
abby likes dogs, mike likes cats. they settle on maybe getting a bunny but then they found out that vanessa is allergic :(
abby has nightmares every now and then, and when she does mike cuddles her to sleep while they watch her favourite show. (she gets the day off school too because he knows how drained she must feel)
saying that… mike has regular nightmares, he wakes up screaming at least twice a week. and after freddie’s it only gets worse, he dreams of what happened to garret, abby dying, vanessa dying, that mask closing in on him. eventually vanessa learns to calm him down, she strokes his hair and talks him through his attacks
vanessa deep cleans the house when she moves in… and creates a cleaning schedule!
abby HATES onions. like that girl will destroy the entire house if she even sees one
it’s ok tho mike hates them too
abby has a meltdown when he buys her a shirt and it’s the wrong texture, it takes hours to calm her down and mike never EVER buys from that store again
vanessa and abby have girl nights, while mikes at work they paint each others nails and have a little spar session
abby starts including vanessa in all of her drawings :( she’s always at the front with a big smile and her police care is always at the back
mike can’t really afford much for christmas or birthdays, he always tries his best but moneys a little too tight. abby’s lists start getting smaller and smaller and it breaks his heart. so he spends weeks working 16h shifts, he works nights and through the day and even does odd jobs on the side to save up. he remembers the things her eyes have lingered on and manages to buy her everything. that morning when abby wakes up and sees a big pile of presents waiting for her, her big smile nearly makes him cry and he has to pretend to yawn to cover it up (he even bought her one of those custom cakes and put a photo of her plushies on it, and they have takeout for dinner)
abby draws out a story book for mike, and he cries while he reads it
vanessa watches the saw movies with a straight face and mike is hiding behind her (“how can you watch this-“ “relax mike, it’s not even accurate.” “WHAT”
his favourite colour is navy blue but abby doesn’t have any navy crayons so he never buys a shirt in that colour

Colour Theory and Will’s Funeral
First of all, I was wrong. The flowers at Will’s funeral were yellow and white. White for innocence and yellow for friendship and loyalty. But I while I’m on the topic of the funeral I might as well look at it.
Opening shot; we have a group of people. Notably, Joyce is sitting down on the far right and Mike is in a similar position but on the left. Although, Mike isn’t sitting down. Mike is also in his green jacket here, the one we see him in a lot this season. We actually see Mike in a lot of green in season one, compared to subsequent seasons. His tie is green with dark, subtle red stripes.
Lonnie is also here, and I want to highlight this because at the funeral, the person who’s doing the talking is someone who says, “Would God take from us, someone so young.” Religion in this situation and from what we know about Will’s experiences with his father and peers, isn’t meant to be comforting. It’s meant to stand out.
“We must remember that nothing, not even tragedy, can separate us from his love. We are here today to find comfort in the truth of scripture.” The camera pans over to Mike, Dustin, and Lucas during these lines.
When Dustin says, “Just wait till we tell Will that Jennifer Haynes was crying at his funeral,” the reactions of Dustin and his friends are different.
Lucas and Dustin are mostly the same, joking smiles and their reactions are what we can expect. But Mike is looking at Jennifer crying like he’s trying to figure something out. She’s crying and Mike almost seems like he’s judging her. This could be him knowing how their peers treat them and feeling angry that she’s crying at his funeral now, but we would probably get a line later on alluding to that if that were the case. Also worth noting that Jennifer is wearing a red shirt.
Mike smiles a bit when he looks back at Dustin, but when his mom shushes them it drops rather quickly.
There is an emphasis on a romantic connection to Will in this scene, and Mike is the only one to stand out when Dustin makes that comment.
What’s more interesting is that what follows that shot is the shot of the rose being thrown on top of the casket. But the yellow rose which symbolizes friendship and loyalty, falls off the casket and out of sight. This is odd, considering that there are flowers on top of the casket and it seems like that’s where they’re meant to be thrown. And we can see this with the next two roses thrown, they stay on the casket.
While the roses are yellow and white- there still can be something said about them. The symbolism isn’t in their colour, not entirely- or at least not in blue and yellow. Mike’s colour this season is green. Yellow- friendship, Blue- calmness/sadness/depends on the situation, red- usually has romantic connotations. Mike is green, and while I don’t fully understand it, he just is. The meaning of green is something, but I haven’t figured out what it is yet.
Moving on in the scene we see Joyce’s memory of Will drawing and coloring in Will the Wise’s fireballs green because he couldn’t find a red crayon.
To summarize; Jennifer in red and used crying over Will, Mike’s reaction is different which parallels Joyce handling the situation differently than everyone else.(as he constantly does this season). Mike is wearing green but a tie with green and dark red stripes. The yellow rose- which means friendship and loyalty- falls down into the darkness- and we move back to Joyce and then as things move around her, end up with Mike in his green jacket in the background- then we flip to the memory.
Mike and Joyce parallel each other this season because their individual relationship’s with Will are different than anyone else’s. Joyce is Will’s mother and Mike is... Mike is Will’s closest non-familial relationship.
Jennifer never comes up again. She isn’t important as a character, just as a symbol of a romantic connection. She’s wearing red and she’s a girl crying at Will’s funeral. Dustin and Lucas joke about it, and Mike looks confused. Mike’s wearing green. But his tie is green and red.
The yellow flower that symbolizes friendship falls off the casket, right after Dustin, Lucas and Mike’s dialogue. Right after Mike stares at Jennifer in a red shirt. After a romantic connection is brought into play.
Then, we focus in on Joyce, and the shot ends with Mike in the background of the frame, in his green jacket.
Will colours the fireballs green because he couldn’t find a red crayon.
Mike’s romantic feelings/relationship to Will is highlighted at the funeral. Our main characters are Mike and Joyce, Of course we focus on the two of them. But why Mike? Why not Lucas? Or Dustin?
Because Mike and Will’s relationship has always been different.
The funeral shows us Mike, in green, because red isn’t an option. But we still see him looking at Jennifer, in red, because Mike and Will’s relationship can’t be described as entirely platonic, not during any part of the series. But Mike’s tie is green and red. But we can barely see the red. The same can be said about Mike’s own awareness.
The yellow, friendship, falling into the darkness, tells us that yellow doesn’t describe Mike and Will’s relationship.
And Joyce’s memory tells us that green looks a bit funny in this situation, it’s odd because it should be red. Joyce could’ve said orange, which is generally the colour more associated with fire, but red was used because it means something.
Mike’s jacket even stands out in the group shot. It’s out of place. The green is out of place at Will’s funeral. The yellow rose falls away because that’s not Mike and Will’s relationship. Mike’s always loved Will, but he’s using green instead because he doesn’t know that red’s allowed to exist in their relationship.
Mike and Will’s relationship has always been red. But Mike’s only ever been told to find yellow and green. Because they’re friends.
They, are friends.

WIP Wednesday - Mr Ma
In which Gerry is left alone with two toddlers...
To say the trip to Stewarts was peaceful would have been stretching the truth. In some other lifetime he’d gotten that relaxing walk down to the Foyle, and he and the girls had thrown an entire loaf’s worth of bread to the ducks.  Instead, he had found himself pushing a double trolley around the supermarket, doing his utmost to bat chubby arms away as one or the other of the girls tried to pull items off of the shelves, and apologising to his fellow shoppers as they shrieked happily up at the ceiling high above to hear the echoes. Every time he reached over to grab something one of them flopped over the side of the trolley to ‘help’, threatening to tumble out of the seat and onto the concrete floor unless he kept his eye on them, earning him the stink-eye from every woman he passed as they silently judged his parenting. He thought he might have made a mistake giving in to their crying, though, when he’d struggled to take the crayons and sweets away from them; Erin had kept a death grip on the pack of Crayloas (it had to be the expensive ones, hadn’t it?), her tomato red face screwed up in concentration and her breathing so loud that she sounded like a very tiny dragon trying to conjure fire. He’d tried - and failed - to prise them out of her hand and, while he’d been distracted doing that, Orla had somehow managed to get into the nearby Pick‘n’Mix rack and had stuffed her mouth so full of strawberry laces that her cheeks resembled those of a hamster’s.  He’d had no choice but to get her to spit it out into a bag so he could buy it, and since he was buying that he just had to get the crayons (and a colouring book) for his daughter too. He could do some colouring with her later, maybe - nothing could go wrong there, surely?

Prompt: Can you write something for Mini!Brittana, like when they were younger. I think they are really cute. Btw I love all of your fics especially the one "5 times Brittany and Santana didn't have a baby" 🥰🥰
First of all, thank you so much, Anon. You're very sweet and it means so much to know you like my fics! I’ve been so busy that I wasn't able to write for a while but here it is, finally. I hope you like it!
First Meeting
“Hi, can I borrow your pink?”
The prettiest girl five year-old Santana had ever seen was looking up at her under her eyelashes with upturned, blue cat-like eyes that were full of innocence. She was like what Santana would imagine an angel would look and sound like. Santana had never seen eyes like that.
“What?”
“I lost mine. I think my cat stole it.”
Santana was confused for a long moment, staring at Brittany in stunned silence as all other thoughts left her head other than those sparkling sky blue eyes. Then she noticed that Brittany was pointing at the Tickle Me Pink crayon on her desk and felt stupid. Judging by Brittany’s drawing and the clothes she was wearing, it was clear that light pink was her favourite colour.
She knew it would be easy to be mean and snap “No!” at the meek girl or just ignore her like she would have for anyone else but she couldn’t when everything about the girl was so sweet and soft… not to mention pretty. Her body moved automatically and she handed the crayon to the girl, receiving a smile that made butterflies erupt in her stomach.
“Thanks. I’m Brittany.”
“Santana.”
Santana was confused by Brittany and too shy to approach her again even though she kept thinking about the girl, who was the first one in their class to ever talk to her.
Later that day in class she heard pitiful sniffling and then realized it was because the two meanest girls in their kindergarten class were cornering Brittany who was rubbing tears away from her cheeks. The blonde girl was just lying on the floor and looked so helpless, not even fighting back as the girls insulted her over and over again.
“You’re so stupid and weird!” Chelsea snickered and Kelsey laughed hard as Brittany looked down at the floor in shame, her lower lip wobbling.
Santana felt red hot anger. She didn’t think before she took action. She marched up to the two girls threateningly, rolling her neck and squaring her shoulders the way she saw her dad do when he was telling someone off.
“Hey, leave her alone!” She barked at Chelsea and Kelsey who screamed when Santana shoved them so hard that they tripped and fell into wet paint. As the black-haired girl expected, they were cowards and immediately started to cry, threatening to tell the teacher what Santana had done as they looked down at their ruined clothes while the rest of the class pointed and laughed at them. Santana just smirked, standing with her hands on her hips. She felt proud as the mean girls scampered away all upset then she held out her hand to help Brittany stand up. The tall blonde girl looked at her gratefully and finally smiled.
“Thanks, Santana. Those girls are so mean.”
“I won’t let them bully you ever again.”
The black-haired girl wasn’t expecting it when Brittany leaned over and kissed her cheek, pulling back with a giggle. Santana looked at her in surprise and touched her cheek in the spot where Brittany kissed. She felt that same little spark she felt the first time they talked when their eyes met again and Brittany slipped her hand into hers, lacing their fingers together without warning as Santana fell silent but didn’t pull away. She felt warm and comforted by Brittany’s touch in a way she never had felt before around anyone else. From then on, they were inseparable.

any headcanons for girldad jir???
YEAH
Me and my friends are obsessed with girl dad Jiraiya ngl he’s a treasure.
He’s incredibly soft. Like a sweet blink of eyes and a smile and he can’t resist. He spoils his daughter cuz his weak ass can’t refuse that look.
Invested in the playtime. Will put on fairy wings and adorn a wand if asked. Tea parties are cool as hell 😤.
A pair of gauntlets are covered in rainbow cutesy sparkly stickers. He does still use them if he has to. But he doesn’t wanna ruin the hard work that went into making them pretty.
Is the dad thats passed out while his daughter puts on that cheap kid make up all over him. Would probably wear it all day if no one says anything.
Has let his daughter do his hair. Usually its tangled and it takes hours to unweave a barrette from his hair but he doesn’t mind. And he does her hair too, often sticking with a ponytail.
Let’s his kid sit in his lap and colour while he writes. His manuscripts as of late usually have crayon on it.
He’d hold her tight all teary eyed if she were upset for any reason. Def the parent the kids run to for comfort. If someone made her cry he isn’t above punting another kid across the playground.
For anyone he cares about he’s protective. But when it comes to his daughter he’d probably end the world if he had to if it meant protecting her.
I thought about in my long fic of two daughters and a son. But honestly full girl dad jir is what the world needs. Plus I think it’d humble him quick. And he’d probably apologize to past lovers he was a chauvinist to 💀 cuz as a girl dad he would beat the fuck out of anyone who talked to his kids like he talked to women.

Can we have some more baby Saedii please?🥺
Baby Saedii supremacy
~~
Caerson wasn’t sure whether his daughter was looking at her brother with murderous intent or complete adoration but either way, Saedii was obsessed with Kaliis, despite the fact she had described him many times as ‘not much’. He was watching her now, sat on a small bean bag next to Kaliis’ crib, chin cupped in her hand, purple eyes wide in observation.
He wasn’t a very loving man, but the sight did warm his heart a little.
And then Kaliis started crying and the image of his perfect children was shatteres. Saedii frowned at her brother and stood, making Caerson believe his daughter was about to walk away (or punch her brother knowing her temper), but instead she reaches into the crib and picks Kaliis up and begins to shush him. Caerson sees Laeleth round the corner and just catches her around the waist, gestured for her to be quiet and pointed at their children.
Saedii starts walking around the nursery with Kaliis supported in her arms, her hand supporting his neck like they had showed her. His cries began to
He looked over at Laeleth, who he can feel melting in his arms.
“Come on, she’s got him,” he whispers, leading her away, before they could interrupt the pair.
~
“Daddy?” Caerson looked up from his lieutenant’s report to look at his daughter. She was lying on her stomach on the living room floor, crayons around her, colouring book in front of her. He raised an eyebrow for her to go on. She gestured to Kal across the room, asleep happily in a bouncer. “When will Kaliis be interesting? Aidraa says her little brother is always running around and playing, why isn’t my brother like that?” she pouts and goes to throw a crayon presumably at Kaliis and Caerson leans down and snatches it, before picking Saedii up and sitting her on his lap.
“You were like that when you were younger too, Saedii. Besides, enjoy the quiet while you can, I’m sure Kaliis will be a handful eventually.” Saedii still pouts and he taps her chin lightly with a finger. “Why do you pout?”
“He’s so boring, but he gets all of mummy’s attention. I know I’m a big girl but I want cuddles too,” she admits huffily and Caerson considers.
“Yeah your mum does give great cuddles. You know if you ask her, she would give you all the cuddles,” that seems to cheer Saedii up and he grins. “You know who else gives good cuddles?” he says and she meets her purple eyes.
With a growl, he scoops her into his arms, holding tight and swinging her gently until she squeals.
~
“Mama, can I?” Saedii says, her chin resting on her hands folded on the bench, her eyes glued to the bowl of leftover sauce for the kiiraviis now in the oven.
“Saedii we talked about this, you always get a tummy ache,” Laeleth says, voice gentle but firm. Saedii shrugs and her eyes widen in that way that Laeleth adores and concedes to all the time.
“Well who else can clean the bowl?” Saedii asks and Laeleth grins, swiping her finger through the syrup and popping it in her mouth. Saedii makes a despondent noise and kicks her legs, the best show of disagreement she lets herself show.
“You would let Kaliis lick the bowl,” she says, really laying on the pout. Laeleth shakes her head.
“Kaliis is a baby, he can’t eat this.”
“But if you could, you would let him because you love him more!” Saedii declares, crossing her arms. Laeleth tilts her head at her daughter, sensing that this was not just some form of manipulation.
“I’ll give you the bowl if you promise to listen to what I’m about to say, okay?” Saedii perks up a bit and Laeleth passes the bowl to her, letting her lick away happily. “I do not love your brother more than you, I love you equally. One day, I hope you’re a mother and can understand that it is impossible for me to love you any less. But Kaliis can’t even lift his head properly at this age, so I do have to hold him more. But that will never mean I love you less, you got me kid?” She says rounding the bench to stand beside Saedii.
Saedii considers for a second, nods, and then holds her arms out for a hug. Laeleth happily wraps her daughter up.

His Complicated Mate- Chapter Five
I sprang into action calling upon my wolf to lend me her strength. Diving under the tree, I caught the middle of the tree, and it pushed it above my head, but I could feel the weight of it pushing down on me as the wind picked up. "Jaxon!" I called out. "There's a tree that is coming down on the other side of the motel, I need help, people are in danger."
I heard no reply back so I just kept repeating myself as I could feel my arms start to shake a bit under the weight. "Jaxon!" I screamed out hoping he'd hear but the wind took my voice and carried it away. I heard a twig snap by me, and I turned hoping it would be Jaxon but what I saw wasn't him. It was a boy who could be no more than thirteen wearing rags and smelling horrible. He was dirty and wet, and I could see his bones pushing sharp against his skin. "You shouldn't be out here. Go to the office and take shelter, it's not safe! Where are your parents?" I yelled, hoping he'd hear me.
He stood there with no expression on his face, but he then replaced it with a creepy smile. His body began twitch and his eyes glowed red. Rogue. He started to shift, and I panicked, knowing if I shifted, I couldn't keep the tree from falling on part of the motel and if I didn't shift, I'd be ripped to pieces. I tried the mind link again, but Jaxon didn't reply which worried me.
He stood there with no expression on his face before he replaced it with a creepy smile.
The boy shifted in a skinny and snarling wolf. His eyes were the only clear thing I could see in the heavy rain as I watched him go around me, knowing I couldn't follow without letting the tree fall down. My arms were shaking more with the weight of the tree and the weight of my impending death coming down on me. I screamed in frustration making the rogue wolf make a happy noise. Oh god, I thought, this is it.
The wolf went behind me and I braced myself for a painful end, but it didn't come. I heard a whimper and saw the wolf back up to my right by the woods. I looked over to my left to see a large black wolf stalking towards the boy. "When I say go, I want you to try with all your strength to throw the tree to your right, I'll help, but after that I need you to clear everyone out of the buildings and get them out of here. They've already murdered someone." Jaxon's voice filled my head. Murdered? I checked on everyone and no one said anything about someone missing. "It was the lady from the office. Get ready to throw! Three… Two… One… Throw!"
I pushed the tree up as far as I could and then moved my body to get better leverage to shove the tree to my right. Jaxon flew over me and pushed the tree from my hands with his back feet, the tree narrowly escaping the building, as Jaxon took off chasing the young boy into the woods. I quickly ran banging on doors telling people to get their stuff and leave. Parents rushed out confused and startled.
I could hear Jaxon's voice behind me a few minutes later calming people down as he explained the situation without the mentioning the wolf's part. People were hurriedly packing and rushing kids out into their cars. I was helping get kids in the car while keeping them calm as the parents struggled with their belongings.
"It's okay sweetie," I pulled the seatbelt across a young girl who was crying for her parents, "your mommy and daddy will be out in a second." I grabbed a colouring book from the pocket seat and some crayons. I rubbed the back of her head hoping to calm her down before I closed the door behind her as her mom hurried into the car and I helped her dad put the luggage into the trunk
"Lucille!" Jaxon called. I looked behind to see him shoving our bags into the car. "We got to go, before the weather gets worse." I nodded and helped load the last bag into the family's trunk and then jogged over to Jaxon. He opened the passenger door, and I climbed in. He quickly ran around to the driver's side and hopped in. He adjusted the seat and sped out of the parking lot as soon as the last car left. "There was a ton of rogues, and I could smell more. We couldn't beat them and keep everyone safe."
Some time went by, and we were headed down the road we came on when I brought up the question I've been wondering for a while. "Why didn't you come when I mind linked you?"
"Because you didn't. I was chasing the rogue we saw behind our room, when I mind linked you and I heard nothing back, I worried. I circled back and that's when I saw you holding up the tree while that rogue stalked you."
"Weird. It doesn't make any sense." Jaxon shrugged in response and continued to focus on driving as the rain pushed down on the car.
Why couldn't we hear each other? We could hear each other when we were close together and we weren't too far apart not to be able to use the mind link. Was something blocking our mind link or was it just me not being strong enough with my wolf.
"Get some sleep and stop worrying. Hearing your thoughts is stressing me out." Jaxon said. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window. "Seriously, get some sleep, you look exhausted." His voice softened and I felt his thumb gently rub my cheek luring me to sleep.
--------
"Oh my god, is she okay?" I heard a women's voice cry out.
"She's okay, just tired. She was holding up a tree in her human form, even in my wolf form I had a hard time pushing it. I don't know how she held it for so long." A familiar husky voice said.
"Well just put her in your room for now. The pack house is full and there are no rooms left. I'll try to get ahold of her parents."
I could feel my body being jostled and it felt like I was being carried up a flight of stairs. I started to squirm not liking how I was being held. I felt the person carrying me sigh before repositioning me as I wrapped my arms around their neck and nuzzled my head into them. The person continued walking and I eventually heard a door open before I was enveloped in a familiar sweet scent as we walked into the room. I sighed, feeling calm and drifted back off to sleep.

Art advice from someone who needs art advice but the specific kind that only I know how to give
A 2am write up by a burnt out artist with nothing better to do :)
Okay so let’s rate the typical tutorials people will look up (generalized)
Anatomy
Features (hair, eyes, lips, etc)
Bodies (in terms of shape)
Anatomy is one of the MOST IMPORTANT things when drawing!! It comes before stylizing and basic features - you need to know anatomy before you branch off into your own style! (Take as long as you need. I started out without any knowledge regarding anatomy - it’s how it goes. You’re never perfect.)
Second to anatomy is FEATURES! Eyes, hair, lips, clothes/folds, shading - those are second. I once asked a professional painter how she got things so perfect, and she said she would just repeat what she needed to understand. She filled an entire sketchbook with eyes, another with lips, another with hair, and so on. (She additionally did this with anatomy - one for hands, one for feet - then onto more complex shapes with heads, arms/legs, torsos). She would then fill an entire sketchbook with everything added together - basically she would redraw puzzle pieces until they ‘fit’.
Now, body shape is a rather stigmatized thing in the community of young and growing artists. I’m sure you have seen the classic ‘women are round/men are square’ or the ‘hourglass vs. rectangle shape’ or the ‘girl eyes vs. boy eyes’. While I do believe these help with basic anatomy skills and helps artists convey the cookie cutter gender alignments, you need to remember that boys have eyelashes and girls can be square. Don’t be too worried about conveying yourself properly! It comes with practice!
REMEMBER! Learning is a mess! You can learn in so many ways - I’m still learning, Picasso was still learning, that two year old with crayons is still learning.
Find your own rhythm. It’s frustrating and you’ll cry and the pictures in your head won’t come out as beautifully as you imagined, but you need to realize that not all tutorials work for every person, and that you don’t need to hyper fixate on a singular piece of advice from one artist.
There’s no holy grail of knowledge on how to make things look ‘good’. Time and patience and lots of crying is the only grail you’ll get - and that’s okay! It’s okay to rip your paper and throw your book and scribble over something and throw something out. It’s okay to give up and do something else, it’s okay to discard an idea you really liked, it’s okay to never get to an idea you really liked.
It’s okay to say that you can’t, but you need to also think that you’ll be able to someday. ‘I can’t, but someday’ gives you something to look forwards to. I cant colour clouds the best, but someday I will and boy howdy they’ll be tasteful.
HOW DO I GET INSPIRATION?
This is something specific to me - it doesn’t have to be followed religiously. But I like to watch things. Sometimes a mild existential crisis brings me ideas (I.e. wow, I’m here and breathing and the universe is expanding a billion times over but I’m touching scratchy grass rn and the temperature is just right and look at the fuzz on that bee). Recognize the things around you and how you’re present to recognize it.
Visualize the colour wheel! Where would damp grass sit? A blush on the skin? A honey bee’s yellow? One of the most surprising things I’ve found from colour picking is that purple clouds in an orange sunset almost always get picked out as grey. Lighting is important to your colours and you need to consider that! Sunset grass is different from morning grass!?
I’ve also found that watching people’s sped up art processes have helped me develop. You get to watch their ways of blocking in shapes and making things look natural, no matter what style it’s in.
WHAT DO I DO IF IM IN AN ART BLOCK??? HELP??????
Do a daily doodle. I know you want to draw that masterpiece you have in your head and the pencil just won’t work and maybe you just suck - no, open a notebook book or file, and draw something simple. Something to smile at. A frog, a flower, an eye, a stupid face, a dinosaur - draw with the aim of satisfying your need to put pencil on paper. Write your masterpiece idea down for later. It can wait.
Just remember that all tutorials are to help you grow and not for you to base your entire art life on.
If you don’t like how you draw your eyes, try something else you come up with. Don’t like your shapes? Try something different. It won’t hurt you, it won’t make you stop drawing. If you mess up on something new you’re trying, that won’t end your hopes and dreams, even if it may smush them. (I try so goddamn hard with my clouds that I can’t even begin to explain how badly I NEED TO GET IT RIGHT)
It’s not easy! You’ll hate everything you do!
But I think the moment you draw something, even if it’s a tiny part of the piece, and you say ‘huh. what a pretty thing.’
That is what you’re supposed to aim for. Creators usually see nothing truly beautiful in their pieces, so relax, go with the flow.

Friday
Kristy headed up to see her grandparents on Thursday afternoon, promising to be back on Saturday, which meant Matt was at home taking care of the kids. He loved when he got to spend time with them because he felt like he missed so much of their lives due to work.
He was used to 4 kids but now that Rose was born, he had his hands full. The two boys, Jake and David were troublemakers. They were never quiet and if they were, you knew something was up. LIly and Chloe loved to colour and draw - on anything they see, including the walls. Rose was only a few months old and she didn’t cause much trouble unless she decided to cry - she had a strong set of lungs.
It was only a little past 6pm when Matt called in reinforcement.
“Hello ?” his voice rang through the phone as Matt rocked Rose back and forth.
“Hey man, I know it’s our weekend off but I was wondering if you’d be able to come over and help me?”
“Is everything okay?” Luke asks him, voice filled with concern.
“I- technically yes. Kristy went up to see her grandparents for the weekend and I've got all of the kids here with me and I underestimated how much work this was gonna be” Matt sighs, setting Rose down gently in the crib.
Luke laughs, already tossing some clothes into a duffle bag. “I’ll be there soon. Do you need me to bring anything ?”
“No, I'm good. Thank you”
They had each other’s backs in the field, surely Luke would have his back now. How hard could it be for 2 grown men to take care of 5 children ?
Can’t be that hard.
It wasn’t long before Luke showed up at his doorstep, duffle bag over one shoulder and box of pizza in the other hand.
“I wasn’t sure if you had made dinner yet” Luke smiled at his friend when he opened the door.
“You’re a heaven sent” Matt chuckled, stepping aside and letting Luke come in. “I really appreciate you spending your weekend here. I’m sure you have better things to do with your time.”
“No worries man, really didn’t” He laughs, setting the box on the table. “Where’d you leave Roxy ?” Matt goes to get the plates from the cupboard after calling for the kids.
“Penelope was more than happy to watch her. She also said to tell you that she sends her love” he smiles.
David and Jake were the first two into the kitchen. “Uncle Luke!” they shouted together, tackling him in a hug. The 2 boys were on the floor on top of Luke who was laughing and hugging them.
“Hey guys, I brought pizza.” The boys perked up at the mention of pizza, the way to a boy’s heart really was through their stomach. The twins came running in next, clothes covered in marker and crayon.
“Dinner ?” Lily looked at her dad, he lifted her up onto a chair and then repeated the action with Chloe.
The kids were all seated and eating, Matt and Luke sat on opposite ends on the table. David and Jake were telling them about the fire drill they had at school.
“So we got to go in the truck and press the sirens” David says between chews, Jake nods. “Yeah! And- and we tried to roll the hose and it was so heavy dad!”
Rose begins crying just as Matt goes to answer the boys. He lets out a deep sigh and goes to get up but Luke beats him to it. “I’ve got her, finish eating” he tells him, patting his shoulder as he passes by him and heads up the stairs to her nursery.
Rose was still in her swaddle, crying her lungs out. Luke picked her up carefully and set her on the changing table before undoing her swaddle. He watched as she stretched, her little arms raising above her head.
“Hi mama, how was your nap?” he cooed, smiling at Rose as he picked her back up. He returned downstairs with her in his arms, watching as the kids ran out the back door and into the yard.
“Half an hour! Then I want all of you inside and getting ready for bed!” Matt shouted, propping the door open. Matt turned to see Luke behind him, “hi my love” his hand reached out and rubbed her back softly.
She made a little sound before Luke sat on the couch with her. Matt steps outside when Jake calls him to help set up the soccer net they had. Matt then gets roped into playing with them and next thing you know, it’s 9pm and the 5 of them are running inside as the rain comes down.
“Alright, go wash up and change. I’ll be up to tuck you in” he smiles at the kids as they make their way up the stairs.
It was unusually quiet in the living room, an odd occurrence in the Simmons’ house in general. Matt was just about to go check on Luke and Rose when his phone chimes.
From Kristy: Hey babe, how’s everything going ?
To Kristy: Fine for now, called in reinforcements
From Kristy: Who’d want to get roped into helping you watch the kids for the weekend ?
Matt was texting her back as he made his way over to see Luke passed out flat on the couch with Rose who’s also asleep against his chest. He smiles to himself and snaps a photo for Kristy.
To Kristy: *1 Image Attachment* He did
From Kristy: Oh my god adorable
From Kristy: Give the kids my love, I love you.
To Kristy: I love you too
Matt left Luke on the couch with Rose, heading up to tuck the 4 kids into bed.
Saturday
Saturdays were always busy in the Simmons house. Both Jake and David had soccer practice at 10am while Lily and Chloe had to be at dance class at 10:30.
Matt looked at the schedule Kristy had left on the fridge in despair and fear. “Okay, how am I gonna do this?” he mumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Anything I can do ?” Luke’s voice startled him for a second. Of course Matt knew he was in the house but he didn’t think he would be up already.
“I don’t know how Kristy does it,” Matt admits, facing his friend. Luke gave him a smile while pouring himself a cup of coffee. “What’s on the schedule for today ?”
“Jake and David have soccer at 10 and the girls have dance class at 10:30.. on the opposite ends of town” he sighs, glancing back at the schedule.
“I have my car, you know. I could take the girls if you want ?” Luke offered, Matt paused- Luke did come over to help him but he felt bad to ask him to do that.
“Are you sure ?” “Yeah man, it’s no problem”
The sound of footsteps filled the house moments later, the 4 kids coming down the stairs and began asking what was for breakfast. Matt and Luke got them settled in for breakfast, explaining to them what the plan for the day is.
Matt headed up to get Rose changed and ready for the day seeing that she can’t do it herself.
“I’m taking the girls to dance class and your dad is taking you two to soccer practice” Luke explains as the two boys help him clear the table. Jake and David were bickering about who could kick the ball from one end of the field into the goal.
“Go grab your gear, we’re leaving in a few.” Matt smiles, stepping back into the kitchen. “See if your sisters are ready too!” he shouted after the running boys.
Within a few minutes, everyone was out the door. Lily and Chloe strapped into their seats, Matt giving them a quick kiss to the cheek each before letting them go off with Luke. Jake, David and Rose were with him, on their way to soccer practice.
---
The day went by pretty quickly. From soccer practices to dance class and then home to shower and head back out because Matt had promised to take them to the park. By the time they finally got home from the park, the kids were coming down from a sugar high due to the ice cream and junk food Luke had bribed them with while Matt wasn’t looking.
They had stopped for something to eat mid way through their park trip, meaning that none of them were hungry except for Rose who needed a bath and a bottle before bed.
“Can we watch a movie?” Jake asked his father, and his siblings joined him. The 4 of them looking up at their father, their best puppy dog eyes and pouts in their little faces.
Matt chuckled, smiling at his kids, “what would mom say if you tried that ?” a chorus of “yes” and “yeah” filling the house. Matt paused, he knew Kristy would send them up to get ready for bed but he was the cool parent or so he thought. He felt like he should say yes just because he didn’t spend as much time as he wanted to with them.
“Fine but only one movie. Go pick while I get Rose ready for bed. If you need help with popcorn, ask Luke”
“Uncle Luke!” Lily and Chloe shout, running towards the kitchen as the boys go in the other direction towards the couch.
When Matt returns, the house is quiet. He swears he wasn’t up there that long. “Guys?” he calls, making the way through the house. Luke whispers for him to be quiet as he steps into the living room.
The kids are all passed out on the blanket fort they made on the floor. Matt smiles, letting out a sigh as he sinks into the couch next to Luke. “How long have they been out ?”
“15- maybe 20 minutes” Luke hums, scrolling through his phone. “Who are you so into texting right now ?” Matt asks him.
Luke glances up at Matt over his phone, a slight red tint on his cheeks. “Oh, um- it’s just- it’s Garcia”
Matt hums, “Huh, how are things with Roxy ?”
“Roxy ?” Luke questions, mind obviously blank for a moment.
“Your dog?”
“Oh! She’s fine” he trails off, like he wasn’t sure about his answer.
Matt chuckles, smiling at his love struck friend. It has been a few weeks since Penelope left the BAU and everyone had heard about their date, so it was only itne until they officially became a couple. Matt knew Luke and Penelope were mostly definitely not talking about Roxy based on that blush on his cheek.
“Your wife is superwoman by the way” Luke mumbels, eyes still on his phone.
“Hm ?”
“Taking care of 5 kids while working and being by herself for most of the time ?” Luke drops the phone on his lap. “She’s superwoman.”
Matt smiles, “yeah, she is.”
“Glad you both think so” a voice says behind them. Both men jump, their reflexes kicking in as they stand and turn towards the voice. Kristy is standing behind the couch, her hands up playfully.
“Didn’t mean to scare you two” she smiles, making her way over to give Matt a hug. “Thank you for helping him,” Kristy smiles at Luke, “you’re more than welcome to spend the night if you’d like but we have it covered if you want to go.”
“I think he’s got somewhere to be” Matt pipes up, Luke’s brows furrowed looking back at Matt. “I do ?” he questions.
“I believe there’s a blonde technical analyst waiting for you somewhere.”
“You know ?” Luke smiles, the amusement evident on his face.
“I figured it out first,'' Kristy says proudly. Matt laughs softly, “it’s true, she did”
Luke smiles at the couple, saying goodnight to them before picking up his bag. Matt walks in outside to his car, leaving Kristy inside with the kids.
“Tell the kids I said goodbye, okay ? i’ll come by another say and hangout with them or if you and Kristy need a night, I’m more than happy to take them”
“Think you can handle all 5 of them ?” Matt’s brow raises, his arms folded across his chest.
“I’ll probably get some help from a blonde technical analyst.” Luke laughs.
