Alright, since Utakata no Uchronia is finally being released and I'm gonna be picking up my reservation at Stella Worth tomorrow, let's go through the main and also side characters and talk about which ones I would totally smash

For those of you who don't know Broccoli, the company that produced Jack Jeanne, has come out with a new otome game as of 4/11.

The writing team is basically the exact same team as the one that worked on Piofiore, including the artist RiRi

I'm genuinely so hype for this game. I never ever ever reserve the special edition for a game, but I'm confident this will be a masterpiece like Piofiore. The character designs are all great, the voice actors are top notch A-listers, and they even used live 2D to animate all the sprites! Which has never been done in an otome game before.

This game also has a free trial, which let's you play through the common route, so I definitely encourage anyone who's interested and able to read Japanese to go ahead and play it.

Anyways, let's get to the main cast!

Okay first and foremost, our lovely protagonist ~ ❤️❤️

Her default name is Hinagiku, which is so darn cute!

I don't play games if I don't like the MC's design, but she passes with flying colors. I love white hair, her outfit is fantastic, and I don't find her personality grating. She's actually quite fun!

Next is Yashiro

VA: Kobayashi Chiaki

He's clearly the main hero. Putting aside plot stuff and other predictions, his big thing is being quite mysterious. Though he's very friendly, due to his amnesia at the story, we know basically nothing about him. From what I could glean from the info on the site and character PVs, I'm definitely sensing self hatred and angst, and also he's much bolder than I would have expected!

Next is Tobari

VA: Okamoto Nobuhiko

So far, he's the one I'm most looking forward to. He's the face of the red light district, and is very dependable despite his age. I really adore the deep kindness that seems to underly his tough exterior, and the voice samples give me the picture of a someone who won't reach out to the MC because of his role, and what it would do to her if he were to take that chance. It doesn't matter if she wants it, it would lead to her unhappiness —

Listen I could go on. But to summarize.

Here's the thing about me. I'm always craving a specific kind of angst. I love when one party rejects the other, not because the feelings aren't mutual, but because they have to choose to live by their principles in some way. And I feel that Tobari is the most likely to scratch this itch.

Next up is Awayuki

VA: Saito Soma

He is basically the MC's personal butler/guardian. They've been by each other's sides since they were children, and he was one of the few that remained after the fire that destroyed her home and killed her parents when she was 8.

I certainly don't dislike this dynamic, but it's not necessarily my biggest thing. The notes said that the theme for his route was "attachment" or "obsession", from the both if them, which is intriguing to me because MC doesn't seem intense to me in that way, but we'll have to see!

VA: Eguchi Takuya

He's an officer in the militia Kurozuru, and is outright stated in his bio to have quite the nasty personality.

Tbh he pisses me off too much for me to make a fair assessment of him. He's perfectly physically attractive but I cant get past the urge to strangle him Homer Simpson style.

I'm looking forward to his route only insofar as I hope he gets put in his goddamn place.

Next up, Tsuyukusa

VA: Matsuoka Yoshitsugu

He's a skilled craftsman and a childhood friend to the MC.

He has the biggest, fattest, most obvious crush on the MC right out the gate, and it's honestly the cutest thing ever.

I'm honestly shocked this girl hasn't noticed, he barely hides it. Bitch is cute but hella dense.i honestly feel bad for him at this point.

He's really giving me cat energy. Real meow meow catboy energy if you will. Anyway

VA: Azakami Yōhei

So apparently he's Yori's older brother who also works in Kurozuru. From what I've seen of this guy, he's genuinely one of the nicest people ever, and I cannot believe he is related to Tori in any capacity. A mystery how he turned out so well-adjusted while Yori is an unapologetic dickhead. Would love to see a side story with him.

VA: Toya Kikunosuke

Works for Yori. Hates his boss but is one of the few actually capable of working with him. Personally, not my type, design or personality wise.

The head of Kurozuro. Is known to be quite eccentric and difficult to work with.

Listen, out of everyone in this game, he's the one I would personally jump in an alley. OBSESSED.

He's Tobari's right hand man, and also sort of "older brother". He's friendly and charming but I'm not particularly struck by him or his design.

So I’ve always been curious, and this is just a little something I wonder about for all fanfic writers/readers: When you write your fics, specifically when you’re writing dialogue, how do you hear the characters’ voices? Like for example we know what Sherliam sound like because most of us have watched the anime and know what their Jap VAs sound like. But they’re speaking Japanese so when you write dialogue in english, do you hear it as if their Jap VAs are speaking in fluent english? OR are they talking in their eng dub voices? Because one thing I always love to see in your works is how you write accents and dialects, especially Sherlock’s 👌 And most of the time, I can imagine eng dub Sherlock saying those lines in a very authentic British way. But when it comes to Liam, I mostly hear his Jap VA, and sometimes I even roughly translate the eng dialogue to how it might sound if Soma Saito delivered those lines. So it can get a bit strange for me sometimes that one person is speaking ENGLISH english and the other is too but in a Japanese way?? IDK 😭 Just wanted to know your thoughts!

This is so interesting, it reminds me of the question that goes around sometimes about whether or not you see things clearly in your mind when you imagine them. And I'm kind of surprised by my own answer, because I hadn't thought of it in these terms before, but I just...I don't hear them? My internal narration in general is more like written word than sounds or visuals. Like my brain is a book I'm constantly reading. BUT I do think that, when imagining Sherlock and Liam specifically, if I were trying to hear the sound, I hear Soma Saito's voice for Liam and Theo Devaney's for Sherlock. They both just absolutely aced their assignments and stick in my head as THE voices for those characters (though I'd love Sherlock to be a little more Cockney, it's still really really good.) Which is maybe a little tricky to imagine with the two different languages, but I guess I just hear their cadence and tone?

The voice that's the absolute easiest and most natural for me to write in is the somewhat more formal one. I've complained before about writing Sherlock's accent, because it is NOT my default. On the other hand, writing Mycroft and Albert in my current WIP? Absolute joy, easy as pie. I grew up reading a lot of old novels, which probably explains my relationship to excessive punctuation and long-ass sentences lmao -- look at these banger sentences from The Red-Headed League, Jane Eyre, and Pride & Prejudice respectively:

That is what my head sounds -- or rather reads like -- inside. I have to make an active choice to not just talk like this all the time even irl out loud, because it would drive people bonkers. 😅

Silver: Ever since the day we went out for the first time, Niiro and I have been meeting up every day with cameras in our hands. Since my mom was already planning on taking one of the cameras to the pawn shop, I thought I may as well give it away to Niiro, but he stubbornly refused and decided to pay it off little by little instead. Niiro Mashiro is a much sharper guy than I thought. At first, even Akamine was surprised to see the two of us together. But as time passed, it became a given that we always come in a pair.

Classmate: “Niiro-kun and Ishiki-kun, you’re always together, kinda like twins~”

Silver: “I’m so tired of hearing that…”

Classmate: “When you’re not together, it feels kinda wrong.”

Mashiro: “I can’t even laugh at that…”

Classmate: “Your personalities are completely different though -- like a prince and a crude man.“

Silver: “Oi, oi!”

Mashiro: *coughing*

Silver: “… Have you been alright lately? If you’re feeling unwell then--”

Mashiro: “Sorry-- Don’t worry about it…”

Akamine: “Gin! Do you have a moment?”

Silver’s mom: “I told you, didn’t I? That you can’t get close to him. Why don’t you listen to what your mother says?”

Silver: “I didn’t get close to him! It’s just that I’m often told by my classmates we look alike, so I just thought what if…”

Silver’s mom: “You can’t.”

Silver: “Ah. Mm. Of course.”

Silver: After that, I avoided Mashiro for some time. I say that, but ever since the day he collapsed, he hasn’t been coming to school. We haven’t been in touch -- I guess that’s the more appropriate way to put it. So, as if time simply drifted by, a day like this had to come. To my misery, we ended up going to Kyushu together, the place where Mashiro used to live. This is nothing but torure.

Mashiro: “Gin… Are you angry about something?”

Silver: “We’re done for the day.”

Mashiro: “Huh?”

Silver: “I don’t feel like taking photos.”

Mashiro: “Why…?” 

Silver: “I told you before, didn’t I? I don’t take photos when I’m angry or bored.”

Mashiro: “But--”

Silver: “I’m bored when I’m with you.”

Mashiro: “But you even bought the tickets…”

Silver: “Tickets…? Right… I paid for you. I don’t need the money so…”

*footsteps*

Mashiro: “Wait!!! What do you mean bored? Gin, I’ve been looking forward to this day since way back and--”

Silver: “That’s exactly WHAT I MEAN!!! I’M BORED WHEN I’M WITH YOU!!!”

*crowd chatter*

Mashiro: “That’s… You never mentioned such a thing before--”

Silver: “There’s no way I could have said anything!!! You deliberately hid everything away and laughed innocently!!!”

Mashiro: “What… actually happened…? Gin…”

Silver: “Playing ignorant, are we… You already know.” 

Mashiro: “…Know… what?”

Silver: “About your father!”

Mashiro: “!!!”

Silver: “Who would've guessed your father is my father too…”

Mashiro: “That…”

Silver: “You knew everything, didn’t you! You almost managed to deceive me.”

Mashiro: “That’s not true! I kept trying to tell you--”

Silver: “You can keep saying that however much you want now! Was it fun watching me from the side while I knew nothing?”

Mashiro: “Gin…”

Silver: See? You’re not denying it. You can’t, can you? You’re horrible. Disgusting. The way my mom is acting all weird, and my lack of freedom too, all of it-- It’s all his fault.

Silver: “Looking for freedom, searching for colors… Who cares about any of that anymore!”

Mashiro: “I…!!!”

Silver: What is this…? Tears? My vision is blurring…

Silver: Hey, why are you making such a hurt expression? I thought we were friends, and yet to you I was just a half-sibling!

Silver: “Don’t ever speak to me again.”

Mashiro: “Wait, Gin! I--” *coughing*

Silver: “Having another coughing fit…? How irritating… How about you have your kind father come get you again!?”

Mashiro: “Wait…! Gin!!!”

Silver: I did not look back that day. Because I didn’t want to see his face as he acted like a pitiful son only so that he could get his father’s attention. His faint voice got more and more distant, before it finally weakly faded. And that image of Niiro Mashiro was the last one I saw.

Akamine: “Hey… Will Niiro be ok?”

Silver: “He'll be fine. Anyways…”

Silver: They’re probably blowing all this out of proportion. He’ll come back to school with that innocent look of his. That’s right. He, Niiro Mashiro, should just disappear.

*distorted sounds*

Akamine: “Heey. Heeey!”

Silver: Darkness…?

Akamine: “Heeey I’m talking to you!”

Silver: What is this? This… isn't anemia?

Q1. Please tell us what you think about the character you voiced.

A: At first glance, I can already see that Est seems to be someone who has both advantages and flaws, but when I look more closely beyond that, I can see that he's a wonderful person who's very kind to his students. I felt that he was a respectable person who could not only handle both magic and witchcraft at a very high level, but could also think of ways to make the best use of both. Despite all that, I also find the fact that he's too smart that he ended up having troubles with teaching other people as charming, too.

Q2. If you were to become a meister, what kind of job would you like to have?

A: When looking at the materials I've been given to, there sure are quite a lot of meisters out there, huh? I would love to be an alchemist or a mechanical dolls expert, but since I love books, I would like to be meister who works with books. Maybe a "great librarian" with an image similar to Borges' "The Library of Babel!"

Q3. If you could have just one dream come true, what would it be?

A: If I wish for immortality....that would be painful, but I'd like to live longer, to see many different things, and meet many people.

A: I'm Saito Soma, who's in charge of voicing Est in the game. The character illustrations and background art that I have seen for a little while are very beautiful, I really look forward to seeing the release version with even higher quality in the future.

Q1. Please tell us what you think about the character you voiced.

A: The more I learned about him, the more I realized that he was a warm hearted and kind person. His beliefs as a doctor and his enthusiasm for the people around him can be seen in many scenes. On the other hand, I think he has a stubborn side that prevents him from taking action if he is not convinced. He is also surprisingly easy-going, so I thought he had a personality that people would like.

Q2. If you were to become a meister, what kind of job would you like to have?

A: I want to be a Physical Meister. I'd like to be in a guild that is knowledgeable about the body and make use of a high level of athleticism...

Q3. If you could have just one dream come true, what would it be?

A: I want to duplicate myself. If I do that, I'll be able to reach places that I don't have enough time to do or can't go even if I want to.

Q4. Please give one message to the fans.

A: I hope that many people will give 'Dream Meister and the Recollected Black Fairy' a try. There's a really wide variety of characters in the game, and while the main story might be the focus, I think you'll be able to enjoy this world in many different aspects, too!

Q1. Please tell us what you think about the character you voiced.

A: I thought that he was a very serious character who can't lie to himself and other people. The more he trusts you, and the more he gets closer to you, the more he'll show you his vulnerable side. I think he'll only behave this way because he knows that that person is someone he can depend on. Also, he really is someone who's not honest when it comes to his feelings (laughs).

Q2. If you were to become a meister, what kind of job would you like to have?

A: I want to become an adventurer. I want to travel around the world and see various things that I have never seen before. I'd like to be able to preserve them in photos and other things. If I can use magic, then I can easily put all the things I need inside something like the 4D pocket(*), and if I can put up a barrier or a shield, then I don't have to worry much about getting into dangerous situations.

Note (*): He means Doraemon’s 4D Pocket.

Q3. If you could have just one dream come true, what would it be?

A: I wish for an ability to grant wishes properly. Would that be cheating? (laughs) Well then, I wish for world peace. Having a lot of friends is a wonderful thing.

A: Hello, I'm Ishiya Haruki who's in charge of voicing Sion in 'Dream Meister and the Recollected Black Fairy'. When I read the script before the recording, I really enjoyed the story just by reading it, so I'm personally looking forward to seeing how it'll turn out. I hope you will find your favorite character and wait for it with anticipation. Please take care of Sion-kun, too.

Q1. Please tell us what you think about the character you voiced.

A: Due to his lack of presence, it's hard for him to get noticed by other people, but I thought that it was really cool that he still continued to do research steadily towards his goal. There's a certain scene where he risked his life to protect his loved ones, and during that scene, I really felt like I was charmed by him! I'm very honored to play such a charming, cute, soothing, and cool character!

Q2. If you were to become a meister, what kind of job would you like to have?

Food Wars S5E7 Reactions: ok so magic and violence are allowed now(?) (ft. another megumi/soma parallel)

I’ve heard that there was going to be some weird stuff going on in the fifth plate of Food Wars, and now I finally understand. What the fudge with this “Cross Knives” ability?

Every character we’ve encountered so far has their abilities either explained or earned. Erina and Hayama have a mutant sense of taste and smell respectively; that’s weird, but still within the realm of belief. Every other chef either gained their abilities through trials (whether or not said trials are depicted onscreen). But an ability to copy a chef’s talent by stealing their tool? What sorcery is that?

It’s so aggravating, considering there is an explanation right there. 

From S4Ep6, Soma telling Saito how he won: I’m just a normal freshman, but I’ve competed with many different people. That might be why I’m able to come up with all these ideas. Everything I’ve learned from everybody at Totsuki helps me be where I am now.

Couldn’t that just be Asahi? Couldn’t him taking people’s tools be him pettily filching trophies like Mimesaka, and he’s an extraordinary chef because he’s put himself out there because of spite and vengeance? (That’s what I’m assuming his motivation is for now. I do think it’s interesting that season 5 is exploring Joichiro’s failings as a father--namely, the abandonment aspect.) 

The thing is, every antagonist to Soma represented something. Shinomiya was excessive perfectionism and refusal to learn from others. Mimesaka was the belief that a single failure can destroy the work of someone who was truly passionate. Azami was snobbery and the conviction that creative and beautiful food can only be made - and fed to - the ‘refined’. 

What the fudge is Asahi supposed to be if he’s magic? What is it that Soma has to overcome?

It is possible I’m judging too harshly. I’m only on the seventh episode. Maybe his ability will be justified somehow...? Asahi certainly doesn’t seem to have had the ability when he was training with Joichiro. (I can’t even with how he beat up [dueled i guess but they literally looked like they were in a brawl] the other Cuisiniers Noir, and how it looks like they’ve kidnapped Isami? I think this is the first time Food Wars had actually resorted into actual violence.)

What I’m actually afraid of is that, considering Asahi has a ridiculously superpowered ability, Soma is going to have a ridiculously superpowered ability to beat him. I’ve already read a criticism that Soma doesn’t seem to earn his victories in this season, and I think I might already be seeing signs of that. Whenever Soma beat an opponent, he usually attributed it to his growth in Totsuki. It’s his weirdness and love for ordinary ingredients and dishes that is attributed to his time at the diner (as well as a few key techniques). When he beat Sarge, however, Soma and his dad doesn’t chalk it up to what Soma’s learned this past year, but a sensational skill he learned during his diner days.

“Before Soma got into Totsuki, he was fulfilling challenging requests almost every day for 365 days in a year...It is important to have universality in order to do that, in addition to the ability to continuously create surprising new dishes.”

We already know that about Soma--we’ve had four seasons to watch him come up with fun and exciting ways to explore what gourmet food can be. But this quote is used to justify how Soma managed to best someone who by all rights should be far above his skill level.

This is weird. If that’s always been the case, how did Soma lose to Hayama, for example,  who’s closer to his own skill level? We know that a lot of Soma’s ability is from the baseline of skills he learned in his family’s diner; we know that in the beginning of his journey, those skills are enough to tie with one of the Elite Ten (Isshiki) when the latter was taking it easy. We know that the diner is where Soma gets his ability to be unorthodox. But anything beyond that has to come from his growth and Totsuki. Otherwise, his past failures would make no sense.

And the thing is an explanation for how he managed to beat Sarge was also just right there. 

Megumi in S1E12 on why she used allspice for her dish: All of you have been evaluating and eating a lot of dishes since yesterday. And allspice works to help with digestion, so...I wanted to serve something that would be easy to digest. (Dojima’s commentary: Although it was a battle, Tadokoro cared about the people eating her dish.)

Commentary on Soma’s dish in S5E7:

Megumi: ...Rice syrup is good for your health, so it has been used as a sweetener since ancient times.

Commentators: He didn’t use any sugar? Why did he go through all that trouble?

Soma: That’s because the people anticipating my dish are the three judges that are sitting at this table right now. Since it’s such a hot and stuffy summer day, I believe they would want to taste a more refreshing cake. If it were me, I’d also want to eat the same thing.

Soma has learned to not only impress the judges, but to care for their needs and comfort. Those lines positively screamed Tadokoro and her influence, and I really, really wanted the anime to point that out. He learned that from her! Their learning from each other is a two-way street! 

(Mini SouMegu plug: This is also why their pairing work so well thematically. They each have what the other needs. But maybe that’s another meta :P )

Also, on a larger scale, the attribution of Soma’s success to both his ingenuity, his work, and learning from his friends also works out a lot better thematically. How is Soma stronger than before? Not just because he polished his own skills, but because his friends are stronger and he helped them. Asahi clearly works alone; Soma works in community. If the Fourth Plate’s theme is about rejecting perfectionism and a “one true way” and understanding that food is for everyone, then the Fifth Plate can be about how craft grows when people grow together. Considering that it is the last season, it’d also be a pretty great theme to tie up the future, and it differentiates him from his dad by taking him a step further--Soma will understand that to keep growing as a chef, he’ll always need friends, both old and new, to keep sharpening him.

shundain in itself is known to be a very grounded dorm. the regular student, while looking like your typical meathead, is expected to show observational and headstrong traits. it’s essential to know a few wits here and there. here in shundain, you are expected to be able to take care of yourself, to be able to handle things on your own. if you fall behind, that’s on you.

as a dorm leader, you must show throughout a year long process that you are worthy of that title. while not perfection is expected, the dorm needs a capable and dedicated leader. the statement of “you’re on your own” and “brotherhood is essential” coexist here - both implying that you shouldn’t drag the dorm down. the dorm depends on their leader to show top leadership skills, but also to serve as an ideal role model that rightfully honors the conqueror, that the dorm has been inspired by.

within the dorm in itself, everyone is on equal ground! status, wealth, background and the like are forgotten - all that matters is that you show the qualities that are expected of you. there isn’t an ‘official’ ranking within shundain, however, it’s not unknown that xiang and occasionally chunying and sheng are trusted and consulted for decision making by chanyu.

shundain’s dorm terrain is much more rough and a tough one - opposed to, let’s say savanaclaw and scarabia, it’s a lot colder. this is one of the reasons why visitors of the dorm are usually guided to wherever their destination may lie.

common activities include morning practice around 5 am, usually split into two groups lead by chanyu and xiang, as well as falconry.

if you ask me, i think demons/the devil as shundain’s halloween costume would be preeeetty dope. i also considered the qilin for them, but i was worried it might be too similar with the jiangshi costume for diasomnia.

CHANYU

as of right now, chanyu is 20 years old, making him a tad older than most of his peers. his birthday is on the 16th of january, thus making him a capricorn.

his homeland is the vale of the solar deity (which is also where xiang and sheng reside in) - it’s a fairly big country but rather rural. it is said to be protected and guided by a holy deity known as the solar deity - as a result, you find plenty of temples dedicated to that deity throughout the lands.

he is the leader and founder of the falconry club ! he appears to be extremely fond of falcons and treats them very much with respect

his best subject is defense magic whereas his worst would be astrology - even then though, he has fairly great grades

he seems to be rather fond of cooked mutton and steamed dumplings, but very much dislikes gazpacho

he grew up in a rather ‘normal’  household - with a prideful father and a strict as well as a few younger siblings, chanyu had responsibilities to shoulder from a young age on, but he dealt with it quite well. he grew into a very responsible man, but truthfully, deep empathy and a knack for emotions hadn’t been on the list of his duties, thus making him appear to the majority of his surroundings as cold and cruel - which, admittedly, he kind of is.

he doesn’t smile often, but appears rather pleased and smirks here and there whenever things go according to his plans or he gets to have the upper hand. he enjoys using his wits in his favor.

XIANG

the vice dorm leader is 18 years old! his birthday is on the 20th of february, so he is an aquarius

as mentioned before, his homeland is the vale of the solar deity. he lives in a small community, quite close knit with his family and extended relatives.

his club is the basketball club, as he wanted to do something more different this school year! he gets along with ace and jamil quite well, although, funnily enough, he is rather wary of floyd... which is kind of funny to see

his best subject is stamina training whereas his worst is art and music; artsy things have never been his thing, but for that, he is one of vargas’ favorite students

favorite food is sichuan hot pot and least favorite is potato stew ! (he had too much of the latter in his life time...)

xiang’s household was a bit... difficult, to put it lightly. he rarely mentions what had been going on and only sheng seems to have a rough idea. but to summarize: from a young age on, xiang had been trained to be a child soldier by his merciless father, effectively taking his freedom as a child and his childhood away. he had been training from morning to night, almost without any breaks. (thus explaining all the battle scars on his body) around middle school to high school age, his father had died on a mission during battle, with only his arm being brought back to them. due to the shaken hierarchy of his family, xiang’s older brother was forced to break off his studies at nrc and take the position as the new head of the family - which allowed xiang to continue in his brother’s place instead.

his carefree and lax, but also painfully arrogant attitude is what causes many students of shundain to not take xiang seriously at first; however, that soon will turn out to be a mistake on their part, as xiang is quite relentless when it comes to training

CHUNYING

this guy here is around 17 years old ! his birthday is on the 18th of november, making chunying a scorpio.

his homeland used to be the vale of the solar deity, but soon enough, his family decided to move into the more northern area of the land of pyroxene.

he is part of the loving mountains club. he never really takes it seriously and just joined so he can have a bonus on his resume.

his best subject is flying skills (not surprising) and his worst is summoning... he never got the point of that.

his top favorite food? salted milk tea! his least favorite? roast turkey... i think you can roughly guess why

chunying grew up in a relatively regular household as well. he has a few siblings as well. back in the vale of the solar deity, his family had a bit of a higher standing than most families in their villages, as one of the rare families of falcons. considering how treasured falcons are to their culture, chunying often had been perceived with awe for his elegant wings and his heritage. he was treated with a lot of respect and never has been reprimanded for his wrongdoings - thus making him a bit painfully narcisstic. that was one of the things that really boosted his ego. not being the oldest and one of the middle children, he sort of got often let off the hook by his parents and tended to goof off with his shenanigans. a brat to this day...

he is very well aware of the size of his wings, so him accidentally slapping you in the face with them is quite unlikely - so if he does it, it’s on purpose.

SHENG

sheng is the youngest of the four with 17 years young! he was born on the 13th of december, thus being a sagittarius.

his homeland is as well the vale of the solar deity! he lives in the same village as xiang and chanyu. he appears to be rather popular with the elderly and the wild dogs and cats.

sheng is a proud member of the falconry club! he sort of just followed chanyu into the club in his first year.

his best subject is magic practice and his worst would be alchemy.

his absolute favorite meal is khorkhog and is fairly well at cooking that himself ! however, he doesn’t seem to be fond of ice cream...

having grown up in the same village as xiang and chanyu, sheng is familiar with the two and their families. sheng himself is the oldest of five siblings and always looked out for his siblings on his own will. he also takes care of his grandparents frequently. his family was rather loving and coddling, but sheng was a hardworking kid either way. he has been often dubbed as too soft hearted by many of the men in his village, so he has been trying to “toughen up” and conceal that part of him. if they can’t view him as a respectable future head of his family, how will his family be affected by that? he sure doesn’t wanna find out.

despite the initial first impression, sheng is surprisingly dense and a bit of a himbo, honestly. romantical advances and the like are blocked by an invisible wall of giant, dense himbo

Speaking of voice actors, is there anyone you're hoping to get a proper role in Gbf in the future? Or A3 or other games you're playing?

honestly the more a3's seiyuu cross over to gbf the happier i will be.

i genuinely care SO MUCH for all of the a3's seiyuu, watching the live concert really destroyed my mind, and everytime one of them end up having a role in gbf i end up pointing and crying like oh my god that's a son!!! that's a son!!!!!! which i also ended up having to bite back when Koutarou Nishiyama joined the gbf cast and played a sadistic piece of shit (Justin from the Viscious D, Aoidos’s old band) and i was just What Have You Done To My Sweet Son.

That being said i mentioned it quickly the other day but if Junta Terashima joins the gbf cast i genuinely don't think i'll survive it. Like. part of me wants it because i do want to hear more of Junta (and if he gets playable i know it's going to be one of those charas i'd want to spark out of pure love for VA), but i'm also not kidding that i think it would destroy me emotionally because he voiced one of my most precious fictional character of all time who tends to make me extremely emotional at the voice alone and i am genuinely so scared to hear him into gbf. Especially if they do the same thing as they did to Nishiyama. (ue ue ue and ue ue ue. and also this since it's my most listened song of all time.)

Similarly i would really love Koudai Sakai to join the cast of gbf but am scared shitless because it's really a guy i hear the voice of and think "son!!!!" and if they betray me like they did with Nishiyama, i will never forgive them.

ALSO I JUST WANT ASANUMA SHINTARO TO GET A SSR ALREADY!!!!! he voices Ryan in gbf and while tbh i don't really see how he could become a SSR chara considering how simple his character is, i GENUINELY want Asanuma to get a big role. He's one of my fav seiyuu of all time (i legit got into a3 partially because i was really fan of him (and Shirai Yusuke and Eguchi Takuya)) and i really wish he could really get to shine into gbf rather than having a R/SR chara and then play second grade villains (he played Domon as well). Let the king be in it properly!!!

i also really, really want Chiharu Sawashiro to join the cast, both because i really like his voice (i mean, really!!) but also because the seiyuu is the little brother of Katalina's seiyuu and i think it'd be really fun to have them both together?? note it out!!!

honestly i could list out most of the a3 cast LMAO and i don't think i have seiyuu i want in gbf that aren't in it already in some shape or form, though i can want some of them (like Toshinoya, who plays Arthur) to get other roles in gbf to show off their range, because Toshi is so fucking good.

When it comes to role i'd like to see in a3, i'm genuinely satisfied as it is tbh. Like, aside from the fact some of my fav seiyuu (who are in gbf too) are already in a3 (Wataru Hatano (Randall/Chikage), Eguchi Takuya (Vane/Tenma), Shirai Yusuke (Mordred/Masumi), Tamaru Atsushi (Tor/Tsumugi), Shunichi Toki (Joel/Yuki), ect.), the cast of a3 is mostly fixed, in the sense that it's not a gacha on which you can add a lot of new characters like in gbf. That said that didn't stop Ono Yuuki to get a role in the NPC gang so like, i keep on winning, but it also means i can't think of specific others seiyuu i'd like to cross over there.

Maybe Hanae Natsuki? We never get enough of Hanae Natsuki. (i really like a band that is composed of Hanae, EguTaku, Saito Soma and Umehara Yuichiro, so anything that would have them reunite would be fun. I don't specifically want Soma in a3 for some reasons? But i guess Ume-chan would be fun to have in gbf. Let's put Geo/Vane/Feather together with whoever Ume-chan voice and let them just pull out those songs for no reasons) (Ume-chan is Leona in Twisted Wonderland btw, Hanae being Riddle as well, so, crossover to have) and maybe Jun Fukuyama (who plays Feower) i really like to see him around.

Like of course i could wish for Hosoyan to come into a3 but also if i hear Belial's voice anywhere close my sons, i don't care how different his character is, i will get into full fighting stance.

and you might think maybe i only care for the a3 seiyuu ever and you would be mostly correct! though i must say i also care a lot about the Hypmic seiyuu (suddenly everyone who read me say i got into a3 because of AsaShin and Shirai Yusuke understand a lot of things) but once again most of the VA i care about in it already crossed over in some way. Still holding on for Yukihiro Nozuyama to cross into gbf though!!

but yeah tbh i mostly just care too much about the a3 seiyuu. The concert left unhealable damage to my psychee i genuinely cry everytime i hear any of the current seiyuu i just want them to thrive.

But yeah the wild card is Junta Terashima in the sense i would Legit Die. Like. I would absolutely not survive it. Genuinely a voice i'm too irrationally attached to to properly survive it. But also ngl it makes me want to have him in it just to see how right i am yaknow.

Just watched 91 Days

Yet another anime I watch because of the opening song.

A dude wants to get revenge on the mafia family who murdered his entire family 7 years ago by getting close to them and killing them one by one.

If only I didn't have a life to do I'd really binge this in one sitting lmao

I've known this anime exists for years but despite being interested I couldn't bring myself to watch it because I knew this kind of story has nothing but pain yet I'd still get attached somehow and I'd get hurt in the end as the result.

Your typical mafia gangster revenge criminal show, complete with the all possible cliches of its genre, except in anime format. Seriously, the atmosphere, the soundtrack, the settings, even the logo, all scream “MAFIA SHOW.” I feel like actually watching western gangster show instead of a Japanese anime.

Seriously tho who names the town "Lawless"? Why would any decent person live in a town named "Lawless"??

*Wheeze* I know this was out in 2016 but I can't ignore that one of the main casts looks and acts like FGO's Napoleon but his goddamn name is Nero lmaoo. Thank God he doesn't go umu umu on me.

For all their shortcomings, I like all the major characters. Except Don Orco, fuck that guy. But if you ask me who is my most favorite, surprisingly (or maybe not), it's Corteo. Dude just wants to study in school, not become a mafioso. He's like, normal, if a little bit too meek. I mean, helping your bff who comes back after 7 years with his vengeance but still questioning if it's really worth it is pretty much on the middle side. Not blindly loyal, not self-serving either. Also I can't believe he and FGO's Wodime share the same VA? He sounds so soft and nothing like the latter?? Soma Saito, the range you have...

What do you mean Nero is only 21?? And was only 14 by the time of the Lagusa murders?? He looks at least 25. I like how much of a jolly guy he is that sometimes I wonder how is he a mafia? At least until the second half, that is. "Avilio is like an empty shell. I will find him a reason to live." Wow dude. That's some heavy declaration.

Avilio is... Avilio. Your classic For-Vengeance! anti hero who becomes the very thing he despises but he most likely doesn't care either way.

See, why I was afraid to watch this anime is because I knew the protagonist will get close to the antagonist and they will forge an amazing bond. For the latter, it's genuine but for the former, it's fake. It's just a painful thing to watch when you know from both sides.

On the other side, I love how Corteo-Avilio relationship is portrayed, and unlike Avilio-Nero, I know it's sincere from the both of them and it's just sweet. Their faling out scene is one of my favs too because at that point, they both have had it and it's because they care about each other.

For Avilio, Corteo (and his beer recipe) is both the key to get anyone into his side and a target for the others, so losing him would endanger his revenge goal and whatever sanity he has left, while having him around would be risky and means more work, not to mention the questionings. Corteo himself is worried for Avilio, is jealous of his bond with Nero despite knowing it's fake, and to be fair Avilio involves him in his personal agenda under the pretext of "brotherhood" and is trying to wave everything with money. But it's clear that from the beginning to the end, they are loyal to each other.

Fango is batshit insane and while I love how Ep8 turns out, honestly he is entertaining lol.

Vanno is done so dirty even though I like him a lot.

I love how fucking wrecked Avilio looks after ep 10 and it just doesn't get better. He sure spirals down really fast it's quite eerie.

I did say I got attached and hurt but it wasn't as deep as I thought it'd be.  

They should probably dig more of the past of the central characters instead of simply mentioning it. Like say, they could have shown Avilio's life for the past 7 years or how Nero fared with the mafia life given that he wasn't that fond of it but still devoted himself to protect the family pride. Weird, because many other aspects of the casts' characterizations (hobbies, abilities, tendencies, relationships) are usually shown instead of told.

Well following the cliches of the genre, Fio the girl of the family is set up to marry the political rival and after her role is done, she is shipped away. She could have more to do with the plot than this. Even though I like her initiatives to get the brothers work together...

I love religious badass characters because of rule of cool. And in this setting, I can watch them recite prayers, sign cross, go to mass, and I can honestly say "What's all that for? Y'all just gonna commit atrocities again anyway." and I love the irony in it.

I'll never look at lasagna the same way again.

For the kind of revenge story that focuses on how ugly revenge is, I like this show's execution and exploration. There is nothing new, but it plays its cards nicely.

So I was listening to TK on Spotify and Signal is fucking amazing. Its popularity is directly behind the legendary Unravel and Katharsis, even. Then I found out it's actually the op song for this anime, which is what finally spurred me into watching it. The power of a song, indeed.

IDOLiSH7 REUNION LIVE VIEWING RECAP

I once said that I had no interest in idol anime. And then I got into IDOLiSH7. I then said that I still wouldn’t go to their concert. And then I got tickets for the REUNION live viewing. I then said that I don’t think I’ll scream very much, if at all. Yesterday, I slapped past me three times in the face as I defied all of these predictions.

I’m gonna skip out on some of the details of what happened since most people have already shared all that good stuff, so this post will be a lot more personal instead—what had the biggest impact on me, what made me go crazy, and my general impressions and feels. More like a long diary entry for future me, I guess ^^

As soon as the first song, “Natsu Shiyouze,” started, I literally started tearing up. I used to be such a big Kpop fan and loved SHINee so, so much. Their concerts were the only idol concerts I’d ever attended, and I thought I’d never ever watch an idol concert in my life again. But as soon as “Natsu Shiyouze” started, I felt this overwhelming rush of excitement that I could only ever experience when watching a live concert… I thought of SHINee and the way I felt when I saw them live, and then I thought of Jonghyun, and I started crying. But then they quickly turned to happy tears… I was just… so thankful that I found and got into IDOLiSH7, and so thankful that i7 gave me the chance to experience this feeling again… “Natsu Shiyouze” is such a fun and upbeat song, yet so many emotions, a mixture of happy and sad, were rushing through my mind already. It’s a complex and bittersweet feeling, but in that moment I was truly happy :’)

The sad sentimental stuff only lasted for one song, so the rest is just lots and lots of fangirling and screaming xD

I am in awe at the length the voice actors go to embody and present their characters. Just… it was a perfect balance of portraying their roles and also being themselves. This concert allowed me to appreciate the voice actors for who they are—more than simply “so-and-so character’s VA” ^^ I still remember the hype I felt when they all assembled themselves to replicate the REUNION poster image, with Onoken holding the huge flag… And also… seeing ZOOL standing up there with them was so askjdfh;askjdfhj;sad I’m so happy for them omg ;_____;

IDOLiSH7 (the group) is just so full of fun and full of life, and watching them together never fails to put a smile on my face. They’re so lively and energetic and they’re all absolute sweethearts. The most adorable and sweetest family ever <333 Every member had their own moments to shine (which I’ll get into in detail later), and it was literally impossible to not love every single one of these talented dorks ;~; <333

TRIGGER were just… legendary. They literally OWNED the stage. The amount of charisma and stage presence they have is just AMAZING. As a group, they were probably the strongest and most stable live singers, in my opinion, and DEFINITELY the most LETHAL in fanservice. Holy smokes were they ON FIRE. THEY’RE SEXY AND THEY KNOW IT, AND BOY DO THEY SELL IT. THEY OOZED SEX APPEAL. I’M ALREADY TRIGGER-BIASED BUT THEY DEFINITELY STOOD OUT THE MOST AND LEFT THE BIGGEST IMPRESSION ON ME. THEIR MERE PRESENCE IS ENOUGH TO HAVE ME SCREAMING.

Re:vale didn’t give as much fanservice as the other groups, but they were still KINGS. Their interactions and whenever they spoke in their characters’ voices oh my gosh as;dkjfha;skjfhas;j <33333 And the VAs were just… so “senior” and “experienced,” like actual SENPAIS. So much respect ;___;

And ZOOL… oh my gosh I’m just SO HAPPY FOR THEM. I cheered extra loud for them because I was so scared that some people wouldn’t, so I wanted to make sure that they got the love and support they deserved. But ak;dsjfha;skdj everyone was so supportive of them; the screams were SO LOUD and it made me so, so, so incredibly happy ;_____; They were badass and also had amazing stage charisma, almost like a Kpop idol group!!! And I’m glad they shuffled the lines so that Minami and Torao got to sing in their earlier songs, too ^^

Gonna list some of the highlights and parts that left the most lasting impressions and got me the most excited during the concert (not in chronological order):

-        “HOSHIKUZU MAGIC.” OMG. WHEN THE STARS APPEARED AND HOPE APPEARED WE ALL LITERALLY SCREECHED. I CAN’T BELIEVE WE GOT TO SEE HOPE AND CURSE MOVE. HOPE AND CURSE MOVED. THEY LOOK ETHEREAL AND JUST AS;DKJFHA;SKDJFH;SAJ I NEED THAT ANIMATED VIDEO IN HD SO I CAN WATCH AND SCREAM OVER IT REPEATEDLY. AND OMG THE VAS WEARING THE ETERNO OUTFITS A;SKJDFH;ASKJFH;AJSKD IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED?!?!? IS THIS REAL LIFE?!?!?!? AND ALL THE FABRICS REPRESENTING ALL THE STARS USED TO SEPARATE THE TWO WHILE THEY WERE PERFORMING. AND OMG THAT ENDING WHEN HOPE LEAPT INTO CURSE’S ARMS WITH TEARS IN HIS EYES? WE ALL LOST IT. I think this may have been my loudest screech in the entire concert. My friend was losing her sanity and I even had to pat her to calm her down omg xDDD I honestly was expecting them to announce a Hoshimeguri movie or something, since they animated a video already, but alas, one can dream xDDD (still not giving up HOPE hehe)

-        TRIGGER’S NEW SONG. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. I BARELY SURVIVED THE SNEAK PEEKS WE GOT OF THE MV. HOW AM I GONNA COPE WHEN THE FULL MV DROPS. THERE ARE WOLF HOWLS AND LOTS OF HIGH NOTES AND OMG IT LOOKS AND SOUNDS AMAZING AS;DKJFH;ASKJFHD;AJSK I NEED THIS SONG AND VIDEO IN MY LIFE. TRIGGER FANS (ESPECIALLY GAKU FANS)… *SCAR VOICE* BE PREPAAAAAAARED.

-        Massun pulling Onoken to the middle again because he’s the centre omg he sounded EXACTLY LIKE IORI and that’s TOTALLY SOMETHING IORI WOULD DO A;SDKJFHA;SKJFHAS;J

-        Massun angrily throwing the towel on the ground OMGGGGG HE’S SO ADORABLE IT’S LIKE HE’S THROWING A TANTRUM AS;DKJFHA;SKJF TOO CUUUUUTE DX

-        SUBARU PIGGY-BACKED ONOKEN TOWARDS THE END OMG MY TOURIKU BROSHIP FEELS ARE GOING THROUGH THE ROOF THEY’RE SO ADORABLE ASDKJFH;ASKJ I’M SO GLAD THE CAMERA CAUGHT THAT BLESSED MOMENT

-        There was a part when Re:vale were walking down the long part of the stage together and people around me were saying “play the wedding song play the wedding song” LOLLLLL like they aren’t married already ;P

-        Re:vale and TRIGGER made us do the “kanpai” thing twice each, and I ended up really, really needing to go to the toilet LOL but I just couldn’t leave? No I ain’t leaving during speaking segments and I was too scared to go even during the encore break for fear of missing out on anything as;dkjfhas;kj D:

-        Sogo’s VA twirling around in the frilly blue outfit with the big bow on the back omg SO CUTE. Tachibana also twirled around quite a few times during Re:vale’s performance xD Their outfits were all so beautiful. Especially the Eterno outfits omg the amount of detail and lace and sparkles and the gloves ahhhhh *___* But it must have been really hot and heavy, since they took them off pretty quickly after performing “Hoshikuzu Magic” only >_<

-        Speaking of outfits… TRIGGER’s outfits. So, so, SO COOL. Especially that one pink outfit of Tenn’s omg I can’t get enough of the criss-cross at the back and the long flowy skirt thing as;djkfha;sjkfh;asj it’s like an upgraded version of his Heavenly Visitor outfit and I LOVE IT *_____*

-        “ZONE OF OVERLAP” FULL VERSION. THAT IS ALL. *grabby hands*

-        I’d already been spoiled that Ryu would start off singing “Shine on the Sea” by himself, but it was still SO EMOTIONAL seeing the other two members rising up and joining him onstage ;___; Listening to this song and “In the meantime” seriously made me feel this sharp pang of guilt because moments ago I was screeching for ZOOL and then TRIGGER had to come out and make me remember all the terrible stuff that happened in Part 3 and I just a;sdjkfhas;kj Dx

-        “Daybreak Interlude” was AMAZING. THE WAY TRIGGER ENTERED FROM THE BACK AND WALKED THROUGH THE AUDIENCE SECTION. THEY COMPLETELY OWNED THAT STAGE AND IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST EPIC PERFORMANCES OF THE ENTIRE CONCERT.

-        I can’t remember which song it was, but there was a part where MEZZO were pretending to look really sad so they were kneeling together with their heads down and they looked like lost puppies omg awwwww a;sdkjfh;asjkhsa;j MUST ADOPT.

-        During the encore songs, everyone was on carts and grouped randomly or on one by himself. And they grouped Momo with the twins and it was the most adorable thing ever xD Soma and Onoken were being all sweet and cute and putting their arms around each other’s shoulders, and Momo’s just… awkwardly standing there third-wheeling xDDD

-        Nishiyama and Eguchi put their arms around each other’s shoulders OMGGGGGG I JUST WANT MINA AND NAGI TO BE FRIENDS ALREADY AS;DFKJHAS;DJK I hope this is a sign ;~;

-        There was one point where Saito Soma looked at Onoken with THE MOST SOFT AND LOVING EYES EVER OMG AS;DKJFH;ASJKHF;AJSD IT’S JUST LIKE THE WAY TENN WOULD LOOK AT RIKU ;_____; It reminds me of that one Tenn sprite from the game where he has his hand on his chin and his eyes kinda soften a;skdjhf;aksjh;asj SWEETEST TWIN MOMENT OF THE DAY DX

-        SAITO SOMA’S “DA ME~” OMGGGGGGG. JUST THINKING BACK ON IT STILL MAKES ME FRIGGIN BLUSH LIKE MAD. I CAN’T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT HE ASKED US. ALL I REMEMBER IS THAT THE ANSWER WAS AN OBVIOUS YES/WANT, AND THEN HE A;KSDJFH;AJSK DOES THAT POSE AND MAKES THAT EXPRESSION AND USES THAT VOICE AND EFFING DARES TO GO “DA ME~” AND INSTANTLY AHHILIATE MY ENTIRE EXISTENCE A;SDKJFH;ASKJFH;ASJK

-        Re:vale said that they were a family ;___; I can’t remember it very clearly so this may not be exactly accurate, but something about how they were the parents, IDOLiSH7/MEZZO were the cute children (cue i7’s cute expressions), TRIGGER were the cool children (cue TRG’s sexy poses), and ZOOL were the bad/naughty kids (cue ZOOL doing gangster hand gestures LOLLLLL). And they even debated who was the dad and who was the mum ahhhhh what a happy family ;_____; ZOOL have been officially adopted by Re:vale. You are now part of the family. There’s no leaving. Ever >:D

Okay now I’m gonna go by characters/VAs and talk (more like yell) a bit about my overall impressions hehe prepare for lots more caps~

MASSUN. OMG. OKAY I REMEMBER WATCHING A FEW I7 VIDEOS WITH THE SEIYUU AND SAYING “HEY IORI’S VA IS ACTUALLY PRETTY CUTE.” TODAY? I EFFING FELL FOR HIM. HARD. OMG HE’S SO GORGEOUS?! HE LITERALLY FEELS LIKE A PRINCE A;SKDJFH;AKSJHAS He’s so in-character during the whole live that I always wonder if he’s actually serious and sensible all the time, but no my friend says he’s just trying to channel Iori xD And omg all the Ioriku interactions ;___; THIS MAN IS BOTH BEAUTIFUL AND CUTE AND TALENTED. WHAT A THREAT. I LOVE HIM. OFFICIAL NEW SEIYUU CRUSH.

Yamato was my least-favourite character initially because I don’t like green and I don’t like glasses (SORRY ONII-SAN) xDDD I’ve grown to love him as I progressed with the story (and fell deeper into i7 hell), but today? ONII-SAN SLAYED. OMG SHIRAI SOUNDS EFFORTLESSLY LIKE YAMATO AND ALL THE FINGER POSES AND EXPRESSIONS AND THE GOOD NIGHT AWESOME AS;KDJFH;ASKJFH;SAJ AND EVERY TIME HE REFERS TO HIMSELF AS “ONII-SAN” I AS;DJKFH;AKJSFH;AJ I YELL

Wingu is another one that seems to sound effortlessly like his character omg HE’S SO CUTE?!?!? AND SO SINCERE?!?!?!? Like he’s just… always smiling and energetic and happy, like he’s truly enjoying himself, and it’s like you can just SEE Mitsuki’s soul in him omg. And he also has this strangely comforting vibe where you feel so safe and relaxed in his presence? Yet hyped up at the same time? I can’t describe it but omg perfect Mikki a;skdjfh;askjdfh;asdjkhfjas

KENN OMG. I didn’t really know him that well or care much for him beforehand; I just thought he did a really good job as Tamaki and really adored his sexy singing voice. But today? DUDE HE’S THE CUTEST THING EVER OMG. HE’S LITERALLY LIKE… A REAL-LIFE TAMAKI WITH HIS CHILDISH INNOCENCE AND ENERGY. LIKE AN EXCITED CHILD RUNNING ALL OVER THE PLACE. HE WAS HAVING SO MUCH FUN AND I JUST. A;SKDJFH;ASKJFHD;J TOO PRECIOUS ;_____; And he was so good at finding cameras and giving bright smiles a;sdjkfha;skj he was one of the most lively and energetic and really kept the mood going <3 He’s also a REALLY good live singer. Among the top 3, in my opinion. I ended up loving and appreciating him a lot more than expected <33333

Awwwww Abeshi as So-chan ahhhhh he’s such a sweetheart? MEZZO were practically on fire with their fan service and there were just so many adorable and sweet moments between them. You can just see how much fun he’s having, especially with KENN, and he was just such a cutie throughout?!?!? He had a bit of that shy and reserved So-chan vibe whenever he spoke but you could really see him give his all whenever he performed <333

Nagi ;_____; I feel like every time Eguchi did anything, everyone screamed extra loudly, probably because of all the Part 4 feels ;_____; He didn’t speak in Nagi’s voice or accent very much, but whenever he did, he just… stole all the attention xDDD SO ADORABLE OMG. AND HE’S SO FRIGGIN TALL ASD;KJFA;SHFKJDASHF;J TOWERING OVER THEM ALL XDDD AND I CAN’T BELIEVE HE MADE US ASK HIM “ARE YOU HAPPY” OMGGGGG AS;KDJFHA;SJKFH;SADJ WHY DX

Onoken was the most ADORABLE THING EVER. He was seriously JUST LIKE RIKU throughout the entire concert. He was an actual ball of sunshine, super upbeat, energetic, cute, and just so good at leading everyone a;skdjfh;askjfh;asjk I don’t know if he’s just being in-character for Riku or if he’s always like this but omg I LOVED HIM. HE WAS THE LIFE OF THE CONCERT, SERIOUSLY. His singing voice is seriously like an angel, too!!!!!!!!! One of the best live singers of the entire cast. He was just the most precious and adorable thing ever and literally LIT UP the arena with his voice and smile and presence and just a;sdjfkhas;kjfhsa;j PERFECT.

WACCHAN AHHHHHHH I REALLY LIKE THIS GUY? I don’t know that much about him but I’ve liked him for a while (ever since I got to know him through Yuri on Ice) :O I dunno, like he just seems like SUCH a sincere and nice man? And omg I love it when he puts on Gaku’s super deep and sexy voice a;skjdfhs;aj *___* He’s also a really stable live singer and a really good performer <3 And during the end when he looked like he was gonna tear up omg as;kdjfha;skjfha;sj DON’T CRY AHHHHH But omg when he said “sobaya ja nee” ASJKDFH;ASJKFH WHY ARE YOU SO CUTE?!?!?

SKIPPING TENN/SAITO SOMA AND LEAVING HIM FOR LAST (FOR OBVIOUS REASONS)

SATOTAKU WAS… JUST LIKE RYU OMG. He had that super pure and bright kind of joy on his face throughout the entire thing. You could just see and feel how happy he was to be there ;A; Another actual ray of sunshine and just… he has the brightest and happiest smile and I felt so happy seeing him so happy and just a;ksdjfh;askjdhf;aj WHY ARE THEY ALL SO PURE AND GOOD HUH?!?!? HE REALLY GAVE HIS ALL FOR EVERY LINE OF EVERY SONG, AND THE SINCERITY IN EVERY ONE OF HIS ACTIONS AND WORDS IS JUST INCREDIBLE

Momo’s VA didn’t really give as much fanservice, but whenever he spoke in Momo’s voice… CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!! It’s so difficult to imagine such a cute and childish voice coming out of his VA, but he just… AS;KJDFHA;SKJ HE DID THE “HAPPY~” THING TWICE (ONCE AT THE START AND ONCE AT THE END) WHILE TWIRLING AROUND AND AHHHH SO CUTEEEE OMG ;___; AND YESSSSS HE SAID “YUKI IKEMEN~!” WHEN YUKI’S VA ASKED HIM TO AS;DKJFH;ASJKFHA;SJK

Tachibana was such a blessing omg you could also see how happy he was to be there and how dedicated he was to the concert ;_____; He gave SO much fanservice, and every time he spoke in Yuki’s voice we all just collectively lost it. He’s SO GOOD at interacting with the audience and making us happy, and he really was like a big senpai who was not only taking care of everyone, but like… also returning to his own childish roots, just letting go and having the time of his life ;___; In some ways he felt more like Momo while Momo’s VA felt more like Yuki LOL xDDD

HIROSE YUYA OMG. DUDE THIS GUY HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE A KPOP IDOL OR SOMETHING. HIS SINGING IS AMAZING AND HIS DANCING AND STAGE CHARISMA OMG. He kind of commands attention as soon as he opens his mouth a;skdjfhs;aj AND OMG HE SPOKE IN HARU’S VOICE SO MUCH. AND SO EFFORTLESSLY. HE JUST PULLS OFF HIS CHARACTER SO WELL AND EVERY TIME HE EFFORTLESSLY SWITCHES TO HARU’S VOICE I JUST A;SDJFHA;SKDJFH;ASJ WHY IS HE SO GOOD?!?!?!? HE’S SO YOUNG AND HE’S ALREADY THIS GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES. SERIOUSLY. MAD RESPECT.

Subaru just… It warms my heart seeing him looking so genuinely happy from the bottom of his heart to be there at the live ;_____; You can just hear his joy and pride for his members whenever he speaks, and he’s REALLY good at getting the crowd hyped. He’s like ZOOL’s personal cheerleader when he’s not singing or something?!? And when he got the whole audience to say/chant ZOOL’s name… I may just be reading too much into this and filling in the gaps myself, but it’s almost like he’s just… taking in all the cheers and living in the moment where he can feel that everyone really does accept, appreciate, and support ZOOL. That all this is real—they really are standing there as part of the main cast and everyone really does love them. It just looks like it means so much to him, and I feel so warm and fuzzy seeing him looking so proud and happy asd;lfha;skjfs I’M PROUD OF YOU TOO ;_____;

NISHIYAMA. EXCUSE ME MR. MINAMI WHO ALLOWED YOU. WHO ENABLED YOU. OMG. So I was warned beforehand that a lot of people were swept away by Haruka and Minami’s VAs and prepared myself. But boy oh boy, if I thought I could prepare myself and become immune to the greatness that is Nishiyama, I was DEAD WRONG. AN ABSOLUTELY PERFECT EMBODIMENT OF EVERYTHING I LOVE ABOUT MINAMI. THE POSES, THE EXPRESSIONS, THE MOVEMENTS, THE GESTURES, AND THE FRIGGIN VOICE. I’M A SUCKER FOR MINAMI’S SPEAKING VOICE, AND HIS VA JUST KEEPS DOING IT AND MAKING ME FREAKING FEEL THINGS. RUDE!!!!! HE’S AN ABOSLUTE TEASEEEEEE AND JUST… I DUNNO IF IT WAS THE EYELINER OR THE HAIR OR WHATEVER, BUT I FELL FOR HIM HARD. ANOTHER NEW SEIYUU CRUSH RIGHT THERE. AND IT LOOKS LIKE HE ONLY INCREASED MY LOVE FOR MINAMI LMAOOOO SORRY TENN

Torao’s VA seriously took me by surprise because I really was not expecting him to look like that!!! I was expecting a big gruff man or something, but he’s so… smol and kinda cute? <3 But then he lowers his voice and IT’S STILL THE DEEP AND SEXY TORA VOICE OMG?!? He didn’t seem to give that much fanservice either, but he was clearly having a blast and getting SUPER HYPED UP during all of ZOOL’s performances, which was a joy to watch ^^

S A I T O S O M A. SAITO SOMA SAITO SOMA SAITO SOMA OMGGGGGGGGGGGG WTFFFFFFF A;SDKJHF;AKSJDHF;AKJSDHF;JKASHD;FKHASD;KFJHAS;JKDSA!!! I?!?!?!?!? CANNOT EVEN CONTROL MY FEELINGS OMG AS;DKJFHA;SDKJFH;ASKJDFHD;ASJ AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OKAY SO YEAH TENN’S MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER, BUT SAITO SOMA HAS ALSO SOMEHOW BECOME MY FAVOURITE SEIYUU OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS, SO PUT THE TWO TOGETHER AND YOU ALREADY GOT YOURSELF A KILLER. BUT LIKE?!?!?!? HOW DOES THIS MAN. LIVE HIS LIFE. KNOWING THE DEADLY EFFECT HE HAS ON EVERYONE?!??!?! HOW DOES HE SHAMELESSLY DO WHAT HE DOES AND SLEEP WELL AT NIGHT?!?!? OKAY I KNEW THAT SAITO SOMA WAS A TEASE AND REALLY GOOD AT FLIRTING WITH THE CAMERA. I WAS PREPARED FOR LOTS OF WINKING AND FANSERVICE. BUT NOTHING. PREPARED ME. FOR THAAAAAAAAAAAT. As anyone (including future me reading back on this) can see, the biggest highlight of the live for me was obviously Saito Soma lol. I basically came home screaming incoherently about him and announcing that I was going to marry this man LOL (jks jks). I also secured Massun as my other infatuation, and gained two more new seiyuu crushes in Nishiyama and Hirose lmaooooo xDDD These four had the biggest impact on me thirst-wise, and Onoken, Soma, and KENN impressed me the most performance-wise.

I’ll DEFINITELY be going again next year (if possible). And this time I’m gonna want to go to BOTH days. And this time I’ll have one of those cool penlights D:< I still can’t believe I actually ended up at a Nanalive live viewing, considering my mindset before I caved and watched the anime and eventually downloaded the game late last year. I guess the phrase “never say never” really is true xD

I wasn’t even there at MetLife Dome, but it’s so easy to forget that you’re only staring at a screen when the entire concert was just SO AMAZING AND SO IMMERSIVE. The VAs never failed to acknowledge and address the people at the live viewing, so the experience is almost just as good as if I had gone to the live in person. People who got to go to the live, you’re super lucky and I hope you had the time of your lives! And for anyone who didn’t and is feeling disappointed, don’t lose hope! There’s always next year, and the year after, and many more to come!!! And there are live and delayed viewings! And in the end, there’s always the DVD/BluRay, so no one has to miss out <3 It’s definitely an experience I would recommend to all i7 fans ;___;
