Wait hehe.
Modern au where Eddie has a decent following in social media and is known as both a guy who does ttrpg with a few friends and does cool metal covers of different song genres. He's weird, sure, and will also post two minute video monologues but it's done while camera is mildly unfocused on a worm on the wet pavement, or he'll rant about prog rock and then two minutes later go "I'm sorry my statements on Keith Emmerson were inappropriate and I guess" *pauses and looks off camera* "he totally deserves to be in the rock and roll Hall of Fame" like it's a hostage video and someone made him say it because he looks like he's having a terrible time about it.
Anyways he's an internet funny little man and one day he posts a tiktok or what have you labeled "tfw ur bf is sitting in his platonic soulmate's lap instead of yours" and it's just of Steve sitting sideways across Robin's lap on someone's couch chatting and smiling with her before turning to Eddie and giving a little finger wave.
This is of course met with internet hullabaloo because is that Steve Harrington and Robin Buckley? Famous indie music duo who are also starring in a popular new tv series? Social media weirdos? Beloved and popular and bizarre and memeable? Queer icons RobinandSteve? Was Eddie serious? He was dating thee Steve Harrington?
An hour later Robin tags Eddie in a post that is a video obviously taken from slightly under Steve as the angles are a bit weird, and Eddie can be heard saying "oh my god how could I have forgotten you're, like, really famous how'd I do that Steve! Babe, Stop laughing! It was supposed to be a silly relatable post! You're no better Buckley-hey why are you filming this? My mortification isn't funny!!" While the video is just shaking of Steve curling in on himself and Robin trying to focus on Eddie and you can hear them both cackling over Eddie talking. She captions it "tfw ur QPP's bf forgets you two are famous and that most ppl don't know they're dating. Or didn't, at least"

Tumblr has made me so jaded and bitter. I desperately need an app to share a unique personalities and creativity, not a place where people just consume and don't care about anything but consumption and politics and arguments about various other superficial vapid things that don't matter like every other app.
Or even just a personality, I would take that too. The world could be so bright and interesting and my mental issues with clear up like anything if I could just meet people that I spiritually connected with, which happens maybe every once every blue moon but it's only those blue moons that keep me going.

Chell 1's muscles pop out more because she's lost the usual fat under the skin. That fat underlying the skin is what gives women curves and makes their skin seem softer than mens.
Chell 1 has a different eye shape, nose protrusion, and hair texture (wavy somewhat crimped, even if it's not messy in some places.)
I love both of these character looks but their designs are different to fit the aesthetics of the game environment that they inhabit.
Portal 1’s soundtrack “self esteem fund” is a perfect illustration of how Portal 1 makes me feel. The Companion Cube is special because it’s the only thing with a semblance of comfort, a pink symbol of a heart.
Portal 2 is whimsical. There are so many more characters and it’s alive with robotic sentience. Companion Cube is drowned out by every one else being so expressive and personable.

Are there any specific writing exercises or practices you use to hone your skills in writing?
the thing that helps me the most is reading others' writing! whether it's indie fiction on here, mainstream novels, or nonfiction, it's all pretty great for getting your brain to see writing from another angle
aside from that, trying to write at least a little every day has really helped me to improve! Usually it'll be a paragraph (or more) for an existing series, but taking a prompt and writing a oneshot, or trying something new that gets you out of your comfort zone and really forces you to think can also be helpful (and fun!)
the only other specific thing I do, which is less for writing and more for editing, is read a finished piece out loud. It can help to hear the flow of your pride, and find spots where it feels off or stilted
If anyone else has unique practices feel free to reblog with them :) I'd also love to learn some new ones

I’m actually really fascinated by Jily and Lily now, precisely because it doesn’t look as if it bothered her that J and S were inseparable. She’s very clearly aware of how important they are to each other, she writes Sirius to tell him James needs to see him and it’s just like “yeah, this is How It Is,” no bitterness from James’s wife that James needs to see Sirius. She even signs it off with her love, she doesn’t resent Sirius’s place in James’s life in the slightest.
right?? it’s amazing and i think the only reason why i love jilypad as i do and can accept it wholeheartedly. i also think it speaks immensely to james potter’s capacity for love; it’s not easy to convince someone of their place on ur life, or to give them security and mental peace esp in times of extreme tensions, but that he was able to do that to the point that lily didn’t feel threatened? amazing.
i can see it happening bc lily accepts that her and sirius occupy different roles in james’ life and there truly is no competition. i think a fic once out it like? ‘sirius was his soul, but lily was his heart’ or sumn i’m not sure, and i do think that sums it up well. james has so much love in him, it overflows and fills in all the cracks and never makes the other feel inadequate. and i also see lily as coming into the relationship w an attitude of ‘i am finally ready for not just james but sirius as well’ bc she knows it s a duo, all jokes aside, which is the one thing most people don’t understand about them.

i think one of the most evil aspects of fundamentalist evangelical christianity is how it (and the general culture of those who follow it) encourages parents to treat children
first off, it treats having children as something EVERYONE should do, regardless of if they actually want and are capable of raising said children. in more extreme cases you get shit like the quiverfull movement, wherein couples are encouraged to have as many children as physically possible
and then, those children are referred to like they're their parents possessions, like they are just objects their parents were "gifted" with by god. they're not treated like their own human beings.
AND a core tenet of their religion is that humans are born inherently sinful. they think newborns, who can't even fully control their bodily functions yet, are automatically full of sin. an infant's crying for its basic needs to be met is seen as a sign of their inherent selfishness
a parents' main goal is supposed to be to "purify" that child's soul by any means necessary, the child's actual wellbeing is secondary to "saving their soul"
and, of course, free thought is discouraged in favour of obedience. they believe in a hierarchy: child < wife < husband < god. if you are to disobey the one above you, then you are considered to be disobeying god himself- even if the thing your parent or husband is commanding you not to do is not a sin in of itself. "honor thy father and thy mother"
and again, parents are taught that the best trait for a child to have is *obedience*. obedient to their parents and obedient to the church and scripture
parents are taught to force that obedience by corporal punishment. physical abuse (and yes. "spanking" is abuse. if you disagree then, well, i'm sorry that someone convinced you that raising a hand against someone so much smaller and weaker than you is anything short of abusive) is ENCOURAGED
in fact, if you DON'T hit your kids, you are seen as A BAD PARENT, who is failing to properly "train" their child, and who is dooming their child to a life of wickedness, sin, and suffering ("he who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him." or, put more simply, "spare the rod spoil the child")
parents are told to ignore their own despair and revulsion towards the idea of harming their child, and to hit them anyway. hit the kid and ignore the voice in your head that says hitting kids is wrong. remind yourself that this is for the child's own good. remind yourself that this is god's will.
you're also supposed to remind the child that you are hurting them for their own good, because god commands it. teach them that people hurting them is a good thing.
and many suggest that after you beat them, give your child comfort (comfort from the distress caused by being beaten by you, who is supposed to protect them from harm) and to give them affection (to drive home the point that hurting them is how you show love). which, if you know about the cycle of abusive relationships (tension, violent incident, reconciliation, calm) then you can see how this is pretty much a mirror image of that
it's fucking evil
look up the book "to train up a child" if you want to see this taken to the extreme. even many fundamentalists thing the methodology is too extreme, but they generally agree with the ideology/principles behind it

I have thousands of words I could write about my (lack of) popularity in the art spaces online, and I've written them many times over.
to spare myself the trouble of typing I'll just let my emotions be known very simply: I want attention. more of it. the amount you're thinking of? not enough. quadruple it and now I still want more

you know it's kind of fascinating how easy it is to flanderize lexaeus. he's like the least fleshed out original character outside of the dark road upperclassmen. he barely has anything there to flanderize. and yet people manage it

just heard somebody refer to the band barenaked ladies as candas' they might be giants, what are your thoughts on this
hehe was this the video "the rise and fall of geek culture"? altho I guess a lot of people make that comparison.
I've only listened to a few barenaked ladies songs, so I couldn't make a fair assessment. but from what I've heard so far, their sound isn't really that similar at all? like there's totally shared aspects to the bands; both did theme songs for sitcoms with more offbeat tones, both utilise snappy wordplay in their lyrics, and both often write songs centred around more esoteric concepts, which contributes to their... mm, "quirky" reps - but apart from that, I don't really hear much else. it seems more of a friendly crossover of fans, "if you like x you might enjoy y," kind of a deal.

i don’t know why people never mention it, especially people that used to be Christian, but almost all of the characteristics of angels in supernatural come from Islam. Being their own species, being beings of light, celestial wavelengths of intent, being genderless. Cas’s Boss Nora is explicitly named for it. All that’s kind of overshadowed and ignored in the name of feeling like you’re giving white American Christian’s the middle finger, in the fandom
let's GOOOOOOOOOOO ISLAM W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️🎉☪️
