i will just never get over how explicit aos became with showing daisys trauma in season 4. they basically wrote canonical hurt/comfort fic, even if they kinda smeared the landing in the end.

this is one of the things that elevates the show above everything else ive ever seen. it is so rare, and so important for any media to showcase struggles with mental health in this way, to not present people as victims, but as active participants in their own life that are using the wrong mechanisms to deal with their problems because they are completely overwhelmed and are reacting the only way they can.

this is not meant to belittle people who have different patterns or might not be in a situation where being active is an option for them. this just breaks the stereotype and that had a huge impact on me. i still think about daisy whenever im going through a dark time myself.

It’s also one of the most objective no-frills news outlets I’ve ever come across. Dunno still about Finn. The innocent farm boy gaining powers used to be the go to male fantasy but masculinity has lost its innocence for multiple reasons. The new male hero clearly is an underdog who has the world against him since birth and is still trying to be good or struggling with it despite his circumstances. Finn is a symbol of the shift in paradigm and the limits of that change. The male power fantasy started to get questioned the minute marginalized men couldve been accepted as mainstream heroes (id argue there were more progressive depictions in the 90s etc than 2010s)

Ok, so this is very likely me making a fuss over little things, but this pride month has made me a very emotional lesbian.

I love music, I think it's one of the best mediums to show emotion. I love deep emotional song, but I also like catchy pop songs. So I'm not against mindless dance/feel good music or anything like that but what I do have a problem is the sanitization of emotional songs (one of my main gripe with edm remixes)

Though this is especially true when it comes to songs about be queer. The fact that we get mainstream pop that is inherently queer is amazing. Though like everything else, a lit of things get ruined by trends and the repetitive nature of mainstream. Thankfully I've pushed myself far enough into just my fandom spaces/listening to my own music instead of the radio that I can listen to trending songs without getting annoyed.

This of course I'd bad, really for any music in general that isn't meant to be played until it's a rotting corpse. Though it gets to a point where any meaning is lost, then, at that point we get things like this

The loop of playing songs over and over again is bad but things like this just feel so much worse. We take songs that are emotional and about being queer and shove them into these cookie cutter songs

Can we just... stop? Not just these stupid edm remixs of raw emotion, but the push of art to be crammed into every video for the algorithm

My friends and I discussed this a lot but pretty much the reason mecha died so to speak even if we are in a sorta reboot phrase rn was huge over saturation which is a logical and understandable reason, there is so much fucking mecha to watch that it’s intimidating for newbies, but I realized the best way to compare this especially in anime context is mecha back in 90s-2000s is just wtf is happening with isekai right now and I don’t know if this is sad or just really funny or both especially when isekai mecha almost never fucking misses from what people say
