There's a common thread in Charles' impulsive decisions

He possesses Esther in episode one because he dragged himself up from the ground to see that Esther had knocked Edwin across the garden with her cane. So he did whatever the fuck he had to do to make that not happen again.

He grabs the vase in episode two because they're on a deadline to get back to Niko, and he smashes it because the skeleton grabbed Edwin and he had to get its hands off him.

He knocks the Night Nurse into a sea monster in episode four because she put him through his own hell, and then she threatened to do the same to Edwin.

He abandoned his afterlife despite Edwin's protest that that is not how you make decisions, based on however you happen to be feeling in the moment, because he means to spend his afterlife the same way he spent his life: putting himself between other people and the bad shit.

Charles is impulsive, yes, but he's impulsive specifically because he's protecting his people, protecting Edwin, and sometimes that means you have to act fast.

Actually I do find the contrast between Phoenix Larry and Edgeworth very funny when it comes to the class trial.

Phoenix considers it the defining moment of his childhood, and takes from it the feeling of being alone and needing support and to be defended (it also is massively influential when it comes to his relationship with Edgeworth).

Larry does remember and feels a bit guilty about it (enough to eventually confess) but also... he's done worse. And hey, in his mind at least he made up for it

Edgeworth... barely remembers. He needs reminding. It's not important to him. You could say that with everything else that's happened in his life that this is a footnote. You could also point out that this kid wore a bow tie to school and spent his whole life talking about how much he loves his lawyer dad. This is not the only time he got his money stolen I think.

He used to have boundaries! He used to be clear about how much he was sacrificing!

And then at some point he starts turning around to go back to Gotham

Like this is insane to me! LIAN IS MISSING !!! LIAN?! And Dick chooses to listen to a Bruce summons over helping to find her.

These days writers don’t even bother explaining why Dicks in Gotham. Him dropping everything in Bludhaven is just expected

Part of it is I feel like that at a ome point Bruce stop sharing, he stopped asking for help. Dick is afraid that if he doesn’t show up when he’s called he’ll never be called again.

Our first real exposure actually beings with the Grand Oak tree in DAO! (Thank you @meganooooooooooooooo for pointing this out!)

Players began to notice a distinct cadence in Solas's speech during interactions in DAI. Notably, when he recounts moments from the Fade, his voice occasionally takes on a rhythm and tone reminiscent of a hymn or chant, evoking the cadence of "Hallelujah," specifically the K.D. Lang cover.

(note: @the-northern-continent does a great breakdown of the Hallelujah cadence vs iambic pentameter in this post. And @liaragaming does a good breakdown of Solas speaking in that cadence in this post.)

This has led The Fade Codex to theorize that this cadence reflects a dialect used by spirits—an ancient, rhythmic way of communication that blends emotion and intent through a deliberate structure. The 6/8 musical framework of the K.D. Lang Hallelujah cover. This framework prioritizes reflective pacing, 1-2-3 / 4-5-6 measures, and allows secondary stresses to create an emotional cadence.

This concept is further explored in Dragon Age: The Veilguard through various encounters with spirits. Below are examples that demonstrate this rhythmic, almost lyrical, pattern in their speech:

I wanted to do the design I have for Sky and here are some facts about what I used for inspiration

-He doesn't know anything about Zonnan or Oocca but his gear have their designs. Maybe because they were already extinct or because it's a civilization yet to come.

-Sun made a braid on his hair.

-His arms have some of his Loftwing's feathers that he uses to glide.

-He has a helmet like all the other knights on Skyloft, but he doesn't use it unless he needs armour or if he is gliding. It is personalized, so it fits with his Loftwing.

-He has a scar on his forehead. It has an x shape, just like the one that Demise had, and it's a physical representation of the curse.

it's very important to me that hermes rn is going through the EXACT SAME developmental stage apollo was going through back when they first met (people pleasing, intense workaholism, really unhealthy psychological dependency on zeus) and that hermes really helped apollo get out of it by introducing his more flexible thinking patterns (that are probably the only reason apollo's still ALIVE rn) apollo actually REALLY admires hermes. which is why it's so unfortunate that hey. the learning went both ways and those were hermes' fucking DEVELOPMENTAL YEARS and apollo was his ROLE MODEL

hermes has completely internalized the way apollo used to act. the toxic way of thinking that hermes was integral in helping him get out of. which is part of why he just gets so angry with apollo these days. isn't he doing everything right?? why is it still not enough. how dare apollo act in the way that was so wrong in the past. it feels like a sick joke being played on him
