Test 3 Dream Scence Practice (07~08)

Inspired by Tawanwad Wanavit and Sandy Skoglund, I want to explore using light as a visual representation of emotions. For instance, when feeling stressed or negative, the light's color can shift towards cooler tones, or its path can become chaotic, symbolizing a cluttered mind and internal oppression. Conversely, when feeling motivated or positive, the light's color can shift towards warmer tones, or its path can become orderly and brighter, representing inner strength and a positive, sunny disposition.

Based on this theory, I plan to divide the project into two separate shoots (with two types of locations) to represent positive and negative emotions, corresponding to the first and second halves of the story, respectively. In the 3.0 test shoot, I focused on the visual expression of "positive emotions" in the latter half of the story. In Tawanwad Wanavit's photos, the subjects are often illuminated to a state of complete highlight by the flash, which in turn reflects off the subject to subtly light up the surrounding environment. This visual approach is ideal for depicting the protagonist's inner state after being healed by positive emotions or love in a natural setting, as if they are filled with love and positive energy, becoming a light source themselves and illuminating the surrounding environment and those affected by negative energy.

First, we need a flash and a tripod. After researching camera stores in Auckland, I found a cost-effective flash, the "Godox V350C," and a Manfrotto Befree series tripod.

The shooting location is selected at the back door area of the AUT WM building. This location is close to the studio, allowing me to import photos into the computer for immediate review and adjust the shooting parameters (such as the flash angle, brightness, and camera settings) accordingly. Additionally, compared to outdoor environments, the back door area has more grey concrete walls that can reflect the flash, ensuring the photos don't turn out too dark.

During the shoot, I connected the flash to the camera and mounted both on the tripod. The shutter speed was 1/125 seconds, with a 5-second interval between shots, capturing about 7 photos per set. With this setup, I have enough time after pressing the shutter to move into different positions or poses, while the flash has time to recharge (especially at full power mode). I also prepared a white long coat to act as a simple "reflector," allowing the flash to illuminate my entire body, achieving a final image with the subject in highlight and the background properly exposed.

Through testing, I found that the camera height needs to be at the same level as, or even lower than, the subject to avoid shadows on the subject's back. My aim is for the protagonist to become a light source that influences the surroundings. A self-illuminating object or person should not have one-sided shadows, while illuminated objects will have varying degrees of shadow. High-angle shots create unwanted shadows on the subject's back, so shooting at the same or a lower angle than the subject helps make shadows "disappear" visually while keeping the subject well-lit. Additionally, the subject should not be too close to the background wall. Maintaining a sufficient distance allows shadows to disperse more effectively, creating a visual "disappearance" effect.

Buildings are a big contributor to global warming, not just in their ongoing operations but in the materials used in their construction. Truss structures -- those crisscross arrays of diagonal struts used throughout modern construction, in everything from antenna towers to support beams for large buildings -- are typically made of steel or wood or a combination of both. But little quantitative research has been done on how to pick the right materials to minimize these structures' contribution global warming.

The "embodied carbon" in a construction material includes the fuel used in the material's production (for mining and smelting steel, for example, or for felling and processing trees) and in transporting the materials to a site. It also includes the equipment used for the construction itself.

Now, researchers at MIT have done a detailed analysis and created a set of computational tools to enable architects and engineers to design truss structures in a way that can minimize their embodied carbon while maintaining all needed properties for a given building application. While in general wood produces a much lower carbon footprint, using steel in places where its properties can provide maximum benefit can provide an optimized result, they say.

The analysis is described in a paper published in the journal Engineering Structures, by graduate student Ernest Ching and MIT assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering Josephine Carstensen.

Cyberpunk Edge Runners

Cyberpunk Edge runners was something that I had heard a lot of people talk about but I had never gotten around to watching it. It was a good watch, I just wasn't the biggest fan of it though.

Going into the analysis of this show some of the ideas that I pulled from it was those capitalistic ideas and problems that stem from capitalism which relate to some of the shows we watched in the beginning of this semester. The wealthy are looking to gain more and more power (who would've thought) and they want to have total control of society and this comes from the use of the advanced technology. I'd like to connect this to real life, while we are not in such an advanced technological state such as the show, I would like to point out how technology is still something we use everyday in our lives that has a lot of control on us and even does surveillance on us. Whether it be our smartphones, computers, smart watches, etc.. the fact of the matter is that we are constantly under surveillance whether it is for security purposes, or to feed us targeted ads to make us consume more.

Also I would like to touch upon how when Davids mom got in the car accident, the insurance people didn't even bother to attempt to pull her out because of her coverage not being high enough or whatever, this was literally just absurd. However I believe that this scence is attempting to point at the fact that as healthcare services and similar things get more and more expensive, those who cannot afford them are going to be isolated from these services. These effects could later snowball into bigger problems health problems because of the lack of checkups (because of the price of them).

Good: So Raph knows how to carve wood as well??? Between his knitting and woodcarving, and Donnie’s computer skills, they could honestly bring in some money for their family, like set Raph up with an Etsy and Donnie could do IT or whitehat hacking, and they’d be good.

Good: I love how Leo, Donnie, and Mikey are just absolutely desperate to get through the gate, like they’re watching their dad get hurt and they want so much to help him. It’s so emotional and I love it.

Good: I haven’t commented on Donnie’s tech pack yet. I love it and I want to know what it does.

Good: The scene where Leo, Donnie, and Mikey are being walked into the truck while being electrocuted with cattle prods makes me pissed at the Foot Clan because HOW DARE THEY HURT THESE TURTLES, so A+ on making me feel emotions.

Good: Raph being alive (I know they wouldn’t actually kill him but still)

Good: Splinter being alive (Him I’m afraid they would actually kill)

Bad: “…we will drain every last drop of their blood to get it [mutagen], even if it kills them” Um, draining every last drop of blood from somebody WILL kill them, wasn’t this guy a scientist at some point?

Good: The little ceramic turtle that Vern has on his kitchen counter

Good: The other scientists in the background looking at the dying Foot Soldier on the floor and being like “I DIDN’T SIGN UP FOR THIS, HE JUST STRAIGHT UP MURDERED THAT GUY”

Good: “The fourth cage is for you.” Proceeds to break out the huge freaking knives like he’s planning to murder someone

Good: “Four total turtles and one’s fighting a robot samurai…why not?” Lol, me too.

Bad: If Raph, who was able to build up momentum, was unable to break the glass, how were his brothers, who were starting from basically standing, able to break the glass?

Good: The entire adrenaline bit, from “I feel like cleaning!”, to tripping over the edge, to rambling at a million miles an hour, to Mikey spinning in circles, is amazing

Bad: Donnie’s “oh my gosh, they have guns” thing because they had guns before, now they have live ammo instead of tranq darts. (I’m sorry Donnie)

Bad: Raph’s slow-motion yelling as he launches the bullets back thing. Just no.

IDK: Leo just isn’t having a good day is he? He just keeps getting electrocuted

IDK: OK I WANT TO LOVE HOW DONNIE’S HYPED ABOUT THE WHOLE LAUNCHING THE CAR THING BECAUSE THAT’S ADORABLE, BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT’S THE STEREOTYPICAL NERD SNORT THING SO I REALLY DON’T KNOW HOW TO FEEL ABOUT IT

Bad: Vern staring at April’s butt as she leans out the car

Good: I really love the turtles using their shells as sleds thing, it’s pretty cool

Good: Instead of the elevator, it’s a bunch of Foot Soldiers

Good: I love the elevator bit, they’re teenagers who have had a really rough day nearly dying and still have to go fight a samurai in order to save the city, and are probably freaking exhausted, so they just start beat-boxing in the elevator while they wait because they need some form of stress relief before they go fight the main bad guy. It helps remind you that while they may have ninja training and all that, they’re still freaking teenagers.

Bad: If you watch the lights on the elevator buttons it says that they were only at the 34th floor when they get to the roof. Details, details.

Good: Mikey finally said cowabunga!

Bad: I thought Splinter said he saw April’s dad take her last breath and he never mentioned that Sacks straight up MURDERED APRIL’S FATHER, like I know it’s for shock value but come on

Good: Lol, it’s because Shredder’s got a bucket head

Bad: Ok, I get that Raph’s interrupting Donnie’s question was to signify how he’s respecting Leo’s role as leader, but honestly the whole “oh hey we’re fighting this guy but let’s play buck-buck” thing needs clarification, which is why Donnie was questioning what’s going on. Sometimes you just need some clarification.

Good: The slow-motion “using the game that we played as kids to defeat the bad guy” scene is awesome

Bad: …people still use Command Line interfaces, it’s what you use when you don’t have a GUI set up. (That’s my understanding at least, I’m still learning. We use a Command Line Interface in my programming class.)

Good: How hyped Donnie is that he managed to stop the toxin dispersal.

Bad: THERE’S BEEN DEBRIS FALLING FROM THIS TOWER FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES AND THERE WAS A COP ON SCENCE, WHY HAVEN’T PEOPLE BEEN CLEARED AWAY???

Bad: April SO fell farther than that, don’t lie to me like that

Good: I love Raph’s confession bit. It’s very heart-felt and I feel like a very valid set of reasons for why he always has that angry exterior. (also rip if Leo had anything he wanted to say, lol)

Good: The “heroes in a half-shell, turtle power” car horn,lol

Good: Donnie’s so proud of himself for how he tricked out the van

Bad: The end credits bit where Raph and Mikey hide on the Victoria’s Secret billboard. It’s so unnecessary and I hate it.

Good: I like the comic book style art they did for the end credits.

Alright, there was a lot of good, a lot of bad, and some IDKs in there. We got 73 goods, 35 bads, and 11 IDKs, giving us 61.34% Good, 29.41% Bad, and 9.24% IDK. All-in-all, I like this movie (even if there’s not enough Donnie in it, but I’m biased because he’s my favorite.), I wish they had not taken so long to show the turtles, but overall it’s a pretty decent origin story movie with lots of great little moments.

Oh yes. Just getting involved in any murder case makes you slightly more sus, so lying to say you were involved literally only puts you on someone's radar.

I still can't belive he murdered Inori. Not from a morals perspective, but just from a logisical one. Like, at that point in time, you've murdered Kakeru, came up with the PLAN to kill Inori, cleaned up Kakeru's crime scence, and captured Tsurugi, Inori and Mekaru. Why are you using this trap on Inori of ALL people?

If you kill Tsurugi, Akane and Mekaru become suspects. If you kill Mekaru, Tsurugi becomes a suspect. And they are both in the top 3 for smartest classmates alive!

The only benefit of killing Inori is that now she can't perform an autopsy on Kakeru, but rigor mortis stages are pretty common knowledge so its reasonable to assume someone else knows them. Also, you could injure Inori enough to prevent her from performing the autopsy w/o killing her. Blind her and break her hands. She's going to die anyway if you win. Same for Tsurugi and Mekaru actually, but I wouldn't to make them more suspicious.

Like, Inori's gonna die anyway. Either now, or at the class trial. You aren't saving her life: the only thing your changing is if you kill her directly or not.

Unfaithful To A Goddess |Chapter 6| {SaeyoungXMC}

This is a short Chapter because the next one will reveal MC’s past and needs really hard work with placing all the puzzle pieces together so it makes scence and it’s easy to understand.

You woke up to some strange noise buzzing inside your head. Your head is heavy and throbbing painfully. You slowly open your eyes only to close them shut again because of the sudden bright light. You try moving only to feel your body not moving. It felt like someone is pushing you into the bed of what you can guess is a hospital. The pain is getting worse by the minute and the noise is not helping.

You try to open your eyes again only to see 2 blurry forms above you. The first one is calling your name and the other one is holding your wrist. Blinking a few time helped clearing your vision. Saeran is standing above you with a shocked expression. His eyes scanning your face as you try to focus on your hearing. The other person is a nurse, holding your wrist with one hand and looking at the hand watch. “MC can your hear me?” Saeran said and leaned forward, blocking the sun completely.

“Her heart seems regular by now and-” she turned her head to the monitor besides your head. “-her breathing is stable.” She turned back to you and smile before saying something to Saeran and walking out. “Thank God you are OK. You don’t know how fucking terrified I was. You were pale white an-and shaking really badly with really painful looking purp-” he was talking too fast for you to understand any of what he was saying until you had to stop him with your dry voice. “It’s OK Saeran. Everything is OK now, right?” you smiled and looked at him.

His hair was a mess as his clothes ripped pretty badly. You tried to move your body once more but it didn’t respond. It felt like you had been laying like that for days but it’s probably a couple of hours. Wait, what actually happened and you are in the hospital? You looked on your body for any clues but nothing that would explain the situation. Your eyes fall on your ring and everything becomes clear. “Saeyoung…” you whisper to yourself and run a finger over the gem before violently pulling it of and throwing it at the other end of the room with a scream.

The memory of Saeyoung sitting on your shared bed, half naked with another woman on the screen of his phone fully naked was burned into your head so painfully that the pain from emotional turned into physical. Saeran was standing shocked before you started screaming and grabbing your head into your hands, digging into your scal to get rid of the pain. Saeran grabbed your hands from your head, so your don’t hurt yourself further. He pushed them into the mattress but you kept trying to set yourself free.

He has never seen you in a state like that, screaming for him to get away and to return to his cheating brother. Everything clicked in his head. The panic attack, Saeyoung crying, you throwing the ring. You knew.

Saeran screamed for a nurse as he tried to maybe reach and strap you to the bed but nothing. He tried to calm you don’t but you screamed louder and cried out of pain at the same time. The memory flashed in front of your closed eyes violently before hearing Saeran calling your name again and again but nothing could stop it.

You were screaming, crying and shaking from pain. A nurse run into your room and reached the drawer beside the bed before pulling out a shot. Searan tried to hold your one hand down and in a second cool liquid was running over your body. Everything became slow and calm, your head didn’t hurt and your body became heavy. Saeran slowly removed his hands and cautiously walked to the other side of the bed. You were facing the wall besides the window. He thanked the nurse and sat on the bed.

“How could he…” you said between shaky breaths. Saeran turned to look at you and whipped the new tears running down your face. You don’t have even enough energy left to turn and face him  from all this fighting. “You don’t know how ashamed and mad I am at him.” He said and slowly turned your head by your chin. He looked mad and his eyes had a dark light in them. “You don’t know how ashamed I am that I share the same blood with someone like him.” He slowly let your chin and turned to the window. The sun was setting by not but you remember it being early morning. The liquid started slowly taking over your body as you couldn’t keep your eyes open anymore.

Saeran watched as you slowly fell asleep. He promised himself that he find the truth about all this as well as the meaning of this. “I promise MC, I will find the truth and make him pay. I don’t care that he has the blood as me as long as his blood is on the floor.” Saeran whispered and touched your wet cheek.

Saeyoung was laying on the living room floor, drained from all energy. He had cried for hours before becoming weaker that a stick against the wind. He had cried about his choices, his wrong choices, his stupid choices. He had received a message from Saeran saying that MC had woken up and is stable.He didn’t know what meaning of stable he meant, emotionally or physically. Even if she was stable physically, she was broken and hurt. He didn’t have the energy to visit her nor the guts to do so.

In MC’s eyes he is only a filthy good for nothing but cheating fiance. He is the man she gave her heart to him but failed to keep it. If he had only made different choices from the beginning, things could be much different. He was a genius but he still made the wrong choices. There were no hints to help him know if he is taking the wrong path but that was the wrong choice, waiting for others to help him that take things into his hands.

He had failed before, because he was scared. He made wrong choices and didn’t see deeper and try fixing them. Now wasn’t going to be the same. He had to change, he had to become better as he always wanted and there is never a better time like the presence. He may have failed before but now he has been reborn from his fails and became stronger.

He stood up with the rest energy he had and moved to the computer, he hadn’t opened it for more that 6 hours. The rubbed his eyes behind his glasses as the bright screen opened. A message flashed in front of his screen, the first thought was that the agency had requests to him but he was wrong. The sender was unknown. 

Confused he clicked twice and opened the small animated icon. Tere were only two words on the screen with set panic into his system.

School Life Script E201 Susanne’s Preid

Warning this script contans scences not sutiable  for younger readers FADE IN INT, SUSANNE’S BEDROOM-DAY Its 7 am and Susanne is still in bed asleep then Her Mum Mavis enters the room and wakes her up. MAVIS Susanne sweetheart its time to get up! Then Susanne wakes up SUSANNE Yes Mum I’ll be down for breakfast as soon as I’ve  had a shower and got dressed! Then Mavis leaves the room to give Susanne some Privacy then Alice now age 3 enters the room she can now talk. ALICE You lazy bones! Then Alice leaves the room and Susanne gets out of bed as she gets out of bed we see that Susanne is wearing PJ’s and for some reason socks. IN THE KITCHEN Susanne has had her shower she is now wearing her purple dress with purple trousers her shoes are white trainers with laces she is sitting at the table having her Kelloggs Cornflakes she is sitting next to her 3 year old sister Alice. ALICE I  have Animal cereal! SUSANNE That’s good Alice! GEORGE So Susanne what are you doing at School today? SUSANNE Well today as it’s Friday I have Swimming and I really love that! ALICE I go swimming! SUSANNE Perhaps Dad will take us when he’s not busy like at the weekend! GEORGE Yes why not I’m not working on Saturday so how about then! SUSANNE Sure I don’t mind swimming twice! MAVIS I  can’t go but I will give you some money to buy snacks! SUSANNE Thanks Mum! Then Susanne looks at her My little Pony watch and sees its time for school. SUSANNE Whoops I’m going to be late for school! GEORGE I’ll take you sweetheart! SUSANNE Thanks Dad, see you tonight Alice and Mum! INT, PRINCE OF WALES PRIMARY SCHOOL-DAY The Kids are standing in the corridor waiting for Mr Bunting then he arrives. MR BUNTING Alright you lot I want you to get changed for swimming then I will teach you the lesson! SUSANNE Yes Mr Bunting! IN THE GIRLS CHANGING ROOM Susanne has changed into  her purple bathing suit but for some reason she has left her socks on. KATE Susanne can I  ask you a question? SUSANNE Yes Kate you can! KATE Why have you still got your socks on? SUSANNE Because I  don’t want people to see my feet! KATE And why is  that? SUSANNE I  have a birthmark and people might make fun! KATE I’m sure its not that bad take them off! SUSANNE Okay but you won’t like it! Susanne takes off her white socks and puts them in her shoes and on Susanne’s right foot is a birthmark shaped like Donald Trump. KATE If I didn’t no better I’d say it looks like Donald Trump the American president don’t worry Susanne I’m sure nobody will make fun! IN THE POOL Susanne is trying her best to hide her birthmark from Jimmy. SUSANNE I hope nobody will see my birthmark! Then Timmy walks up to her the boy with autism. TIMMY Not to worry Susanne I still have a hairless tail but I don’t care! SUSANNE I  think I’ll stay with you, you seem like a nice boy! TIMMY I  am and I love Dinosaurs! Then Mr Bunting blows the whistle for everyone to get out. MR BUNTING Alright everyone out and remember to take a shower! SUSANNE I’ve had one this morning! MR BUNTING I said take a shower! SUSANNE Alright keep your hair on, what’s left of it! IN THE GIRLS CHANGING ROOM Susanne is having a shower with her friends they are standing behind a boarded shower cubical then on the floor Susanne sees blood on the floor of the shower. SUSANNE Kate! KATE Yes Susanne! SUSANNE Take a look at this! Kate looks at the floor and sees the blood. KATE I  wonder where that came from? SUSANNE I  don’t know! Then behind the cubical board Susanne feels her bottom and then brings her hand back from behind her and sees blood on her hand. SUSANNE (WORRIED) OMG I’m bleeding from my bottom! KATE I  think this is something you should go to the nurse about I’ll come with you for support! SUSANNE Thanks Kate! IN THE NURSE’S OFFICE Susanne is sitting on a chair listening to what the nurse is saying. NURSE Its nothing to worry about Susanne  all girls your age get it its called part of growing up didn’t your parents explain it to you? SUSANNE No there too busy with my sister! NURSE Right I can give you some of these! She gives Susanne a box of Tampons. SUSANNE Right well thanks! IN THE DINING ROOM Susanne is sitting at a table next to Kate  and Mary and Timmy SUSANNE I  have to hide this problem from my parents! KATE I  think there going to know when they do your washing for you! SUSANNE I never thought of that I am in deep trouble! KATE Don’t worry Susanne your parents will be understanding and will be supportive! SUSANNE I  hope your right Kate, say Kate why don’t you come to mine after school! KATE Sure I can do that! SUSANNE Won’t your parents wonder where you are? KATE Well no Since my Dad left  me and my Mum she has stopped caring where I go and what time I get in! SUSANNE Your lucky but you can come to mine and have tea with us! KATE Love to thanks! Then Jimmy walks passed them and has overheard the conversation between the girls. JIMMY Can I come? SUSANNE No! JIMMY Lets do it behind the bikesheds! Then Susanne stands up and hits him across the face and walks away. JIMMY I think she likes me! TIMMY I  don’t think she does! INT. THE WILSON’S LIVING ROOM-AFTERNOON Susanne has brought  Kate home and she is talking to her father. SUSANNE Dad  I have something I want to tell you! GEORGE Go ahead Sweetheart! SUSANNE Today at school I discovered something and that something was it seems I’m having my first period! GEORGE Is that all Susanne that is natural it means your becoming a young woman! SUSANNE So your not mad? GEORGE Why would I be mad its normal sweetheart! SUSANNE Is it okay if Kate stays for tea? GEORGE Fine by me! KATE that’s good because I’m starving! SUSANNE Aren’t you going to  call your mum and tell her your having your tea here? KATE The good thing about my Mum is she has stooped caring where I am since my Dad moved to France! SUSANNE Okay then! INT, MR BROWN’S OFFICE-DAY Mr Brown is sitting at his desk doing some reports when there is a knock at the door. MR BROWN come in! Then Kate enters the room and stands in front of his desk facing him. KATE So you wanted to see me Mr Brown! MR BROWN Yes I did you were rude to Mrs Henderson weren’t you! KATE Excuse me sir! MR BROWN Close the door! Kate closes the door. MR BROWN You do know who I am right? KATE Your Mr Brown the headteacher! MR BROWN Don’t you know me Kate! MR BROWN Sorry but I don’t know you personally! MR BROWN Kate this is not easy to say this but I’m your Dad! Kate stands there looking shocked KATE (SHOCKED) I  think I need to sit down! MR BROWN Here have my chair! Kate sits on Mr Brown’s chair and he is now standing up. KATE I  don’t understand  how can you be my Dad when my Dad lives in France? MR BROWN I  did for a while but I came back to see you Kate and I took the job here! KATE I need a moment to take all this in! Kate sits at the desk thinking about what Mr Brown said. MR BROWN take all the time you need! Then Susanne enters the room SUSANNE Mr Brown Timmy is playing up! MR BROWN Not now Wilson! She leaves the room. MR BROWN On Saturday why don’t we go to the shopping Centre just you and me! KATE Okay! MR BROWN Do you have a computer? KATE No Mum says they are dangerous! MR BROWN I’ll get you one and some new clothes too and of course a new phone because yours is very old! KATE Okay thanks! INT, GREENFORTH SHOPPING CENTRE-DAY Kate and Mr Brown are shopping at the shopping centre then Mr Brown spots an apple store. MR BROWN Here’s a shop where I’ll get you a laptop! KATE Okay but if Mum asks I’ll tell her I won it in a raffle! MR BROWN Good thinking Kate! LATER IN THE FOOD COURT Kate and Mr Brown are having a meal when Susanne and her Dad walk up to them. SUSANNE Hi Kate! KATE Hi Susanne! SUSANNE I see your out with the headteacher? KATE Yes is the problem with that? SUSANNE Excuse us Mr Brown Me and Kate are going to have a girl to girl chat! Susanne grabs her by her arm and they stand facing each other in the middle of the  food court. SUSANNE Are you crazy or something you can’t be seen with the headteacher what will the other kids think? KATE Susanne its not what you think, he’s my Dad and that’s the truth! SUSANNE Mr Brown is your Dad but I thought your Dad went to France! KATE He did but it seems he has returned and wants to spend time with me! SUSANNE Does your Mum know about this? KATE No and nobody must tell her! SUSANNE I won’t tell on one condition let me and my Dad have lunch with you! KATE Not a problem! BACK AT THE TABLE Susanne her Dad  Kate and Mr Brown are eating at the table together. MR WILSON How is Susanne doing in school? MR BROWN I  can’t discuss that outside of school! Then a shoplifter steals something from a shop and Mr Wilson stops him. MR WILSON your under arrest! BOY your not a policeman! MR WILSON I  am! He shows him his ID card. BOY Oh Boy! SUSANNE And my Dad as you can see is a policeman! MR BROWN Yes and a very good one too Susanne! SUSANNE Since my Dad is busy with that boy I’d best catch the bus back home! MR BROWN No need I’ll give you a left back to your house! SUSANNE Thanks! INT, THE WILSON’S LIVING ROOM-EVENING Susanne is watching TV when Mr Wilson sits next to her. MR WILSON What are you watching? SUSANNE Coronation Street! MR WILSON Good anyway after your programme has finished I want to take a shower and go to bed! SUSANNE Yes Dad! IN SUSANNE’S BEDROOM Susanne is in bed and she is reading a book about Apple Computers that Mr Brown bought for her. SUSANNE Interesting! Then she puts the book on her bedside table and turns out her light. THE END

“I want to sleep, but I can’t. Every time I close my eyes, there’s a new doubt. Something else I have to think about. If I don’t, if I don’t remember it, I’ll... I’ll... I don’t know. But there’s something there, behind my eyes. Whenever I close them, it’s there. I can’t... I don’t have the words. But it’s there, and it’s getting closer. I can’t sleep. Not until I remember.

“Why can’t I remember?

“And everyone else... they won’t get to me. I’ll destroy the ship first... if-if that’s what it takes. I can’t trust anyone now. They’re all diseased, like rats, scrabbling over one another, biting and filthy. I won’t let them get to me. “The people outside – they’d thank me, if they knew what I was doing. I’m sure of it. It’s better this way. No disease. No drooling poisons. No claws or teeth. Just one moment of pure, white heat. DoNotTrack Episode 2

Today, I continued on my journey of DoNotTrack, where it will now be personalize for me?

In episode 2 they discussed the origins of cookies and how they work. When they were talking about the origins of cookies/pop up ads and referring to Fords ad on an anal sex page, it made me reflect a lot on ad issues today. A large issue on platforms such as Youtube as well as in TV is advertisers pulling ads from any segment that might be creating controversy. It made an odd parallel in my mind between the infancy of ads and how far we are today.

Their next point was about how consumers stopped wanting to pay for products but also don’t want ads and cookies on their machines. For me, this is a very interesting topic. It seems that people do not understand that if they are not paying for something, they will almost always be the product. It is not sustainable for companies to create products that fit neither of those categories, as there are not profits. A lot of discussion on the internet seems to be trying to find an alternate to these two choices of Ads vs Paid Apps. One of these suggestions is Cryptocurrency miners built into the websites where the user sacrifices their computer resources to help make the website money behind the scence. I think it will be interesting to see what the future of online money making will be.
