can y’all give me pretentious movie recs bc today in class my film professor (INTRO film btw) asked what movies we had watched over the weekend and i was too embarassed to admit that i spent the weekend watching hit fxx sitcom it’s always sunny in philadelphia so i had to lie and say fight club and then i was TRAPPED after class by somebody who didnt even watch fight club for the yaoi.

Man I wish it wasn't classified as transphobic to bring up that a lot of trans women [in my local community] still sort of see trans men as less than. Talking bad about our music, putting down our accomplishments, even saying our jobs are transphobic for hiring us and not them. Transandrophobia is real and i experience is most often from the transfems I know personally.

THIS POST IS NOT TERF SAFE
I made this post when I had 0 followers and I literally made this as a vent/hate/bitching blog. I was explicitly talking about the loudest and most well-connexted voices in the local community. In the local community, we have two very loud and well-connected trans women who have:
Explicitly called jobs who hire primarily trans people transphobic (reason: they didn't hire them)
Called all transmasc music bitching and whining
When i mentioned a relationship I recently entered, one of the women looked me in the eyes and said 'please tell me he's at least trans'
She also put down fellow trans women's achievements. One time, she (a passing trans woman who had been on E for several years) said that another trans woman (pre-everything) was 'privileged' over her because 'she passes better so all she had to do was ask and she got her birth certificate changed' (the woman in question had a lot of help from her also trans gf to accomplish this)
Claimed another trans woman was privileged over her because the OTHER trans woman (unrelated to the one from the previous point) had a better scholarship than her (this woman had spent time in the military to afford college and had been almost driven to suicide by her family after coming out)
Constantly publicly bullied trans men in ways that were 'acceptable' (making fun of their bodies, their dyed hair, calling names, the classic 'theyfab' stuff) and accused others of being transphobic if called out to the point that the local trans community was heavily divided into a transfem community vs a quieter, more personal transmasc community
These things matter because:
She founded most local community things
She organized like every protest
She had the loudest trans voice in the city
Literally everyone knew her
She held a lot of influence over younger trans women
So like. Yeah. It was a specific to me issue. I should have worded it better. If I had known this would blow up, I would have.
