Mi own connverse kids Ebony and Rohini are there! And technically Sakura and Zachary. (Please until now I don't know what else to name them. 😭)

And sorry the older Maheswarans aren't there. I don't know where to put them and I already had character overload. 😞

Speaking of shirt, another thing I avoided was thinking of their outfit designs. 😅 It's somewhere a little over a decade of timeskip since SU:Future and I'm sure at least one or two would've reformed during the time. So I'm gonna say they wanted to keep the vibe of a casual outdoors picnic-type event so they wore the casual themes.

Grace (11 y/o) is the oldest, and thus most mature, kiddo. She heavily resembles Stevonnie, though it isn’t a perfect match by any means. She's closest with the Crystal Gems, liking how cool and adventurous they are. Because of their influence, she eventually pressures her mom into (reluctantly) teaching her how to sword fight.

Lisa (10 y/o) is the middle child. She's extremely mischievous and can be quite rude sometimes, though she still has a pretty strong moral compass, albeit one that doesn't exactly line up perfectly with her father's. Because of this, she often clashes with her parents, and she even becomes best friends with Jasper. Don't worry, though: she eventually realizes her different ideology doesn't make her parents love her any less.

Gregory (9 y/o) is Priya's twin, and also a musical prodigy who heavily takes after his father and grandpa. He's extremely sweet and just wants to make everyone happy, even if that can be very difficult sometimes. At times, he can get lost in the music™ and neglect his schoolwork, friends, sisters, and parents. This especially becomes an issue in his teen years once he hits it big as a rock star and starts traveling around the world.

Priya (9 y/o) is Gregory's twin, and she really likes building stuff out of random junk she finds around town and in the woods. She's amazed by technology, and she really wants to be the next great inventor. Naturally, this leads her to be good friends with Peridot, who teaches her about the inner workings of gem tech. Priya also meets a boy at school who's just as much of a nerd as her, and he teaches her a ton about human tech.

Priya's passion eventually disappears, however. As for why, you'll have to go to my AO3 to find out ;)

Day 6: Vacation

Beach Day

Beach City in the summertime! Sun shining, barely a cloud in the sky, people and gems mill about with their ice cream, or slushies. Families gather together on the beach, enjoying the warm sand, basking in the sunlight or splashing around in the water.

On a single blanket with a large umbrella to protect them from the sun's harmful rays sits a new, young family. Majority of the fellow tourists steer clear of the small family with their giant pink umbrella, mostly because of the equally pink lion sleeping next to them. Though that doesn't always stop some of the more adventurous children from indulging their curiosity when their own parents' attention on them wanes.

Steven huffs as he discourages yet another kid, this one barely 4 years old, from trying to climb into Lions mouth. He and Connie know Lion would never hurt anyone, but the last thing they need to deal with while on vacation is panicked parents who, upon finally noticing their absent kid, see them inside the mouth of a massive predator!

“Try to relax hon,” Connie says as she smears a little sunscreen on the face of the small child in her lap, “Lion wouldn't bother opening his mouth for those kids anyways, let alone let them try to climb in!”

“I know, I know, it's just I want you to be able to enjoy your time off without dealing with angry parents.” He slumps onto the ground and gently pats his furry friend's head.

“Thank you, but really, don't worry so much.” She smiles at him, then hands the baby to Steven.

“Here, hold Amie for me while I put sunscreen on your back.”

Steven takes his favorite little bundle of joy from his wife. While he enjoys a light shoulder massage from Connie he plays with Amie, blowing raspberries and making her giggle like crazy.

“Steveeeen! Stevenstevensteven Steven!! And Conniiieee!!” A short green gem screeches as she zips across the sand towards them.

Peridot slides towards them, doing a perfect hook slide, and Steven quickly lifts Amie up and away from the impact zone. No sand is getting in his baby's eyes, not today, not on his watch! Peridot jumps up, dusts off some sand and stands proud, hands on her hips, giant grin on her face.

“Finished your gardening lessons for the day?” Connie asks.

“Indeed I have and I'm the first to arrive! Yes!” She cheers and leaps against Steven to give him a tight hug.

Connie takes Amie so Steven can hug her back, “You humans and this whole “growing up” thing! I can't even get my arms all the way around you anymore! Stop that you clod!” Peridot complains.

“Pretty sure I'm done growing now, Peri.” Steven snickers.

“C-mmm… cwrod!”

The two adults and Peridot freeze, all three heads turning towards the small human in Connie's arms.

“Did… did she just…?” Steven mutters, stunned.

“Her first word!!” Connie practically squeals with joy! “Wait… isn't clod a kind of… gem insult?” Connie asks.

Steven looks to Peridot, “You're the only one I know who regularly says clod… Peri did you… basically teach my daughter a gem swear word!?”

“YES!” Peridot shouts with glee, “That's right little Amie! Clod! Cl-od!”

“Cwod!” Amie says, then blows a spittle bubble. Peridot giggles like a little gremlin, positively delighted. It's obvious to her that Amie doesn't understand what that means just yet, but it won't be long before she does if Peridot has anything to say about it, and much more!

“Peridot. I can tell what you're thinking. No more teaching Amie bad words!” Steven scolds the green gem.

Amie just keeps giggling from where she sits perched on her momma's lap in the shade of their umbrella.

Later that day Pearl nearly faints when she picks up her sweet little Amie and she calls her a clod.

Honestly, ‘West Coast Avengers’ has the best low-key uses of Gwen’s powers whenever she was able (‘allowed’) to use them (addressing her ‘rebooting’ having been the plan for a future storyline before the series was cancelled), much like the 200 towels in the room (the implication being it was via the Gutter) — my favourite moment in particular being this one: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/497472479158206465/1064658241897898054/IMG_3473.jpg

The whole undercover plan going horribly wrong was great. Getting outed by pink hair. Randomly guessing the password and somehow getting it right. Getting caught because of how surprised they were that the password was SOMEHOW NOT WRONG?

Honestly, I love the concept of reality warpers using their powers offscreen, leaving everyone to question what they actually did. I'm not quite sure how her powers work when she's not currently in a panel, given the whole fourth wall nature of them, but Quentin getting super confused by it is so funny. He knows she can do SOMETHING, but no idea what.

I love their whole dynamic. Not huge on the ship, but I'm usually pretty neutral on those anyways. That's a whole other thing for later though.

His reaction to Gwen's arguably terrible explanation of her powers is... understandable. Hilarious, but understandable. Especially when he already thinks she's got a few screws loose. She didn't even try to explain the comic book thing. "Yeah, I could do stuff, but now I can't, so IDK"

The reboot could have been a neat storyline. As it is, her whole powers-disappearing thing wasn't really explained. It could have had something to do with the reality-show format or being part of a team making it work differently, but the series didn't last long enough for it to be explored. Too bad. I really liked it.

(Was hoping to be able to draw something for this ask, but that might take a while. 😅 So just using the most recent clear drawings of the kids.)

They do indeed have powers, I just hadn't actually gotten to be that detailed about it. haha Developing my OCs is something I'm bad at. orz

Ebony, though being the eldest, has the least variety of magic, and it's practically just, like, boosts. (e.g: enhanced strength) But she is the most resourceful one. She's also the most involved with Gem stuff because of her fascination with it, so she knows a lot of tricks under her sleeves.

Rohini, middle child, can adjust her gravitational weight. (If I'm using the term correctly.) Can summon a weapon without a gem, and can self heal and recover fast. Can't heal others though.

Excuse his language he's not really the serious and is not the most impatient one of the siblings. He's just unintentionally sassy sometimes.

The twins whom I temporarily call 'Sakura' and 'Zachary'. (It's been around three years and I still couldn't decide a settled name for them. ;-; ) Has the most variety of powers exhibited among the siblings. But tbh they preferred the causality with their lives so they mostly used their magic for aesthetic. lol

All of them can bubble.

Bubble, healing, astral project. How much else of the powers inherited from dad and if there are new different ones, is yet to be known.

How do you guys like the Connverse art week's prompts? If you need some ideas, I'll include some below!

Mar 17th: Glow / Dark

Fireflies, Jack-o-lanterns, glow bracelets, sparklers, jellyfish, mushrooms, lanterns. / A dark bedroom, a night walk, looking up at the stars from the grass, space.

Mar 18th: Casual / Surprise

Lounging around the house, going for a walk, a typical romantic date. / Marriage proposal, surprise birthday, positive pregnancy test, surprise romantic date, a surprise gift.

Mar 19th: Rain / Snow

Self-explanatory. Maybe they could be dancing or singing in the rain/snow. They could also be going for a walk or trying to escape to shelter.

Mar 20th: Nature / Nurture

Nature walk, laying in the grass, maybe Steven created some sentient fruits and vegetables to accompany them. / Taking care of their child(ren), in the hospital after baby was born, child's first day of school.

Mar 21st: Family / Friends

Hanging with/taking care of their children, visiting the Crystal Gems, visiting the Maheswaran or Universe families. / Hanging out with Connie's human friends, hanging with some gems, hanging with friends Steven met on the road.

Mar 22nd: Ceremony / Vacation

A wedding, a graduation ceremony. / A vacation to an alien planet (maybe even with their kid(s)), a trip to a different country, a trip to an ancient gem temple, a trip to a national park.

Mar 23rd: Journey's End

Very loose. What would you consider the end of a journey when it comes to a couple? Maybe their kid(s) is/are moving out, maybe they finally retired, maybe they're visibly old, maybe they're thousands of years in the future and on an alien planet, maybe the two of them are super battle scarred and patching each other up.
