Blood in DF is not a fluid. The only true fluids in DF are water and magma. It doesn't flow. If you pulp up a kitty or gobbo you get a pool of blood underneath it but this doesn't actually flow. In fact even if you get 1000 cats and pulp them to pieces on a spot and all you get is lots pools of the cat's blood on the same floor, so you can't just squeeze blood out of cats like orange juice from oranges.
However
contaminants in DF, can be spread by water. Yes, it's time to mix blood and water. You see once you get blood in water, it spreads pools of blood around it. So all you need to have is an aquifer( or a good set of pumps) and a set of spikes and voila.

everyone is talking about how the water due to that explosion in Ohio is contaminated and thus so shall the air/ clouds/ rivers/ oceans etc be which really really sucks but think for a moment about how sooooo very cool that concept is outside of contamination: the water in my literal body fueling my heart and organs and things was in a lightning storm weeks ago fueled with electricity and thunder loud enough to pop eardrums, and in the ocean years before that creating the world where sharks and fishes live where i cant, going place i may never see in my lifetime and once im done with it, it will go back to the rivers and storms and fishes miles away and be water that was human for a moment: a part of me. And this same water in my body now was drunk by spartan kings and African astrologers, it was used in rituals by ancient pagans and in holy water anointed on the heads of disciples this water has been the source of life for all of earth's existence and it is in me, and you, and in everything: we are everything and everything is us, shouldn't we care more about it?
