This shouldn't be as hard as it looks but it is. Steve stares at the search bar on his phone like it has personally offended him and it has... for being so unhelpful.

"Wow glare at the phone any longer and you'll go from former Captain America to the new Superman."

Steve turns his glare from the phone to his best friend.

Bucky throws his hands up in surrender and laughs, "Sorry, pal. What are you doing anyway?"

"I need advice but the internet is being useless."

"Advice on what?" Bucky asks crashing beside Steve on the couch. "How to stop being so old and grumpy? Don't think the internet can help you there, buddy"

"Bucky..." Steve warns, lowering his voice. "I need help-" He wonders if he should tell his friend. Bucky will be relentless if he finds out what Steve is trying to search for but he could also be helpful. "--I need help figuring out how to romance someone the modern way."

Bucky blinks at him. Steve knows it's coming. He can feel it.

A smirk slowly spreads across Bucky's face. "You're searching for romancing tips?"

"Yes," Steve sighs. "Go ahead. Laugh it up."

Bucky presses his lips together and shakes his head, "Of course I'm not gonna laugh, buddy." He clearly looks on the verge of laughter.

Steve gives Bucky a pointed look which seems to do him in and he bursts out into fits of laughter. He falls back on the couch as he holds onto his stomach.

"Come on, Buck, it's not that funny." Steve rolls his eyes.

That only gets a louder laugh out of Bucky, making Steve cringe. Steve lets him have his fill. It takes a few minutes but his laugh finally dies down and he sits up on the couch with tears in his eyes.

"Sorry that was just too funny," Bucky says.

"Now that you're done... are you gonna help me?" Steve asks

"Sure, pal, what do you need?" Bucky asks smirking at him. "By the way, who are you trying to romance anyway? Sharon?"

Steve rubs the back of his neck as he says, "Sam."

The smirk falls off Bucky's face at that. "Oh."

"Why?" Steve asks, worried. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing!" Bucky replies quickly and the smirk returns on his face. "So try this..." he trails off.

Steve gets his phone ready to type the search

"How to romance a best friend stealer."

Steve starts to type until he realizes what Bucky said and glares at him. "Bucky!"

"Okay okay sorry," Bucky chuckles. "How to bang someone 6 ways into Sunday?"

"BUCKY!" Steve says a little louder this time

"That one could come in handy later. You should save it," Bucky suggests, laughing once again.

"I hate you. You're no help," Steve says giving up and tossing his phone aside. He closes his eyes and throws his head back against the couch.

Steve feels a hand on his shoulder and he opens his eyes to find Bucky giving him an apologetic look. "Sorry, pal, I was just messing around. But to tell you the truth, you don't need the internet to tell you how to romance Sam. Sam is a laid-back guy. He isn't about grand gestures. He enjoys the little things in life."

When Steve raises an eyebrow at Bucky, Bucky continues, "He cares a lot. About the people around him, about social causes, so show him that you care too. He's also dedicated. When he put his mind to something, he gives it his all - you two have that in common- so show him that you're dedicated to him. And just be present. He doesn't say anything but he's not having the easiest time being Captain America so talk to him about it and if he doesn't wanna talk then just be there for him instead of letting him deal with it on his own."

Steve is lost for words when Bucky finishes talking. "Wow, you sound like you're in love with him," Steve chuckles nervously. "You're not in love with him, are you?"

Bucky balks at him. "What?! No! I just have a lot of respect and admiration for the man. Just don't ever tell him that or it will get to his head."

"In that case, thanks, pal," Steve says appreciatively. "I guess I'll cancel the flowers and the chocolates then."

"You could still give the guy flowers and chocolates, Steven."

"What are you two conspiring about?"

Steve startles when he hears a familiar voice and looks up at Sam like a kid with his hand caught in a cookie jar.

"And more importantly, can I conspire with y'all?" Sam continues and offers the two of them a toothy grin which knocks the breath right out of Steve as always.

"We're conspiring about how we're going to TP Walker's house. You in?" Bucky replies.

"Oh hell yeah, I'm in!" Sam replies excitedly. He walks over to the couch and high-fives Bucky.

Steve ignores what they're talking about and instead just stares at Sam. The more he looks at him, the more he realizes just how much he loves the guy.

"Sam, do you want to go out sometime?" Steve asks before he can stop himself.

Both Sam and Bucky stop talking and Sam looks at him surprised. "What?"

"Will you go out with me?"

Sam seems to think over the question before answering, "Took you long enough." He throws himself into Steve's lap and grabs him by the face to kiss him.

"Oh come on!" Bucky complains somewhere beside them but Steve ignores him and greedily kisses Sam back instead.

Steve pulls away from Sam briefly look at him, "You still haven't answered."

"I thought my kiss was the answer," Sam replies and kisses him again.

Somewhere out of the corner of his eye, Steve notices Bucky give them a smile before leaving them to it. He'll just have to thank his friend later.

Let me start off by saying I've been into VAV since June 2018 and they're coming to my city in a few months. I will fucking die when I see them okay. Patton sat on his living room floor, surrounded by scraps and strips of wrapping paper. He huffed out a sigh of irritation as he cut a new piece off in hopes that this attempt would finally be the one. He knew unwrapping and re-wrapping the box was a waste but it had to look perfect. Unfortunately, nothing he had done so far looked good enough.

After the seventh time, he decided to give up and put the gift inside what he'd bought as a backup, which was a galaxy printed gift bag with a silver ribbon to tie the handles together.

"Finally," Patton muttered under his breath as he flopped onto the floor. He felt drained from all the stress he'd been dealing with lately, but today was a rare day off. And he had plans to spend it with his best friend who he may or may not totally have a crush on.

He meant to lay there on the floor until he had to get up and shower, but his phone chimed. He rolled over onto his stomach and reached for his phone, grabbing it from the coffee table. It was a message from the aptly named Gay Panic group chat.
