All it takes is a walk... Motivation & Inspiration.I found my heart on a trail in the woods.Nature is not a place to visit. It is home.Come home to a serene getaway nestled amidst the hustle bustle of the big city The foliage, thick and lush, forming an arch of fairy-tale green above.The brick bat track is but a mere leaf carpeted path soft on the knees. The sound of the creaking branches and twigs snapping is ever so often punctuated by birds chirping, bees humming and an occasional squirrel darting across. The ferns and thickets are beautifully ornamented with breathtakingly vibrant Heliconias. The excruciating summer months are eased in with the automated sprinklers which not only cool the area around but are a visual treat as well. Breathe in the fresh air whilst the mist touches your face like soft morning dew drops. Rejuvenate your senses , all it takes is a walk! Those are words said by @manishmehta celebrating his birthday. When I started training Manish, we set some short term and long term goals. One of them was to increase his strength in the gym, having a carry over effect of being more functional and efficient off the gym. We needed to work on his lower body, to get it balanced with his strong upper body. We started squats with barely 20kgs. Current body weight: 72kgs Squat : 65kgs @ 3 x 6 reps Almost getting to body weight squat. Getting stronger, leaner & fitter with every workout. Want to maximize your gains? Focus on form and range of motion.💯 . Focusing on form helps to ensure you are working the targeted muscles for the exercise as well as reduce chances of injury. . Using full range of motion will help you to recruit more motor units/muscle fibers to move the weight, which will lead to improved gains in strength and hypertrophic response. . Here is an example with #barbellcurls . Things to focus on: - shoulders back and locked in place - grip a little wider than shoulder width - keep elbows locked by your side - try to prevent elbows from drifting forward - wrists kept straight (no forearm curl) - control body swing by bracing your core - actively flex biceps during the reps (mind-muscle connection) - maximize range of motion by engaging triceps and fully extending arms at the bottom of each rep . If you do these things (and haven't been doing them previously) I am willing to bet that you won't be able to lift the same reps and weight that you previously were. A clear indicator that you have been short-changing your reps. . If you are going to show up and put in the time and effort, you might as well make sure you are getting a full return on your investment. Drop the ego, reduce weight and/or reps if needed, and improve your form. What up guys?!⁣ ⁣ I received a request for a more simple workout and so I put together 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗶𝘁. It’s simple and effective so it shouldn’t take you more than 20 minutes if you hustle 💪🏼😬👍🏼⁣ -⁣ We have:⁣ 1️⃣ 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗛𝗣 (this will primarily hit legs and shoulders)⁣ 2️⃣ 𝗬 & 𝗧 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀. We all need some posture-correcting exercises and so I chose this one for your rehab work. It’s not a shoulder exercise, it’s a shoulder STABILIZER exercise.⁣ 3️⃣ 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿. This is a nice way of leaving to monotony of the original exercise behind. This is a more effective way of doing it because it will involve more muscles working while still hitting your chest.⁣ 4️⃣ 𝗩-𝘂𝗽. This has a isometric element. This will light up the abs so give it your all🤘🏼⁣ 5️⃣ 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗺𝘀 & 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀. Clams hit your “side butt” the glute medius. One of the muscles in charge of turning your knees out preventing injury. Followed by the bridge. Injury prevention or not, this will light those cheeks up 🔥 ⁣ 6️⃣ 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗴𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘀. The icing on the cake. Plyometrics 😬 this will top you off and work whatever is left. ⁣ -⁣ -⁣ We can’t go on like this much longer. Shoot video to correct form! I was up and at 'em early this morning! Lower body today!! I'm working at getting my groove back so just used 8 pounds today. As you can see, my form on the lunges is not great. My back leg should be forward more so that when I am in the down position, both knees are at a 90 degree angle.
