#cosplaying civilians will simply be costuming

Note
Sending you a STS ask, because I stole your post. Hi! The question: Of your WIPs, which one do you most fantasize about having cosplayers showing up at ComicCon about?
Happy STS, Angie💜
I can't deny it, I'm a sucker for well-tailored military uniforms. Days of Dusk is centred around an army comprised of people with superpowers, in large part because of the outfits. And while it's very much inspired by 18th century uniforms, to the point that cosplaying characters may turn into historical costuming, there's one aspect of it which I'd love to see executed by cosplayers.
There are eight divisions and corps, each with a different purview and stereotypes. You've got the Winged Division, which is all about the tradition of the Winged Riders, and is considered elitist and stuck up by others - it's the one where Swords from noble houses usually go, so the culture reflects that. On the other hand, there's the Heavy Infantry, with most members being very chill, spending their days practicing their superpowers on the stadium, usually with large and brutal weapons - mauls, flails, maces, nothing as elegant as a rapier - and evenings hanging out in the pub with their buddies. The Artillery is the newest division, established when firearms became common, so they're in general fans of shiny new things, bonus points if they make things go 'boom'. They cooperate closely with Engineers, who're seen as a bunch of mad scientists and/or weirdoes, but crucial nevertheless. There are Healers, Infantry, and of course there's Intelligence and Internal Security Corps, for anyone who likes espionage and subterfuge.
I'd love to see what sort of OCs cosplayers would come up with in the setting, which division and rank they'd choose.

MLB ideas/hopes/predictions/prompts
Bunnix using her umbrella to fly like Mary Poppins
Ladybug coming up with an overly convoluted Rube Goldberg machine type plan with her lucky charm, but not having some of the components, so she just sends Pegasus to the store in the middle of a battle
Characters who are close slowly finding out about each other’s superhero identities in funny ways
Pigella picking up something massive and like 10x heavier than her and chucking it
I really want one of these heroes’ tools to be a comically large anime-style weapon, but alas I don’t think they’d do it
Season finale boss fight featuring all the new heroes, which is totally gonna happen at some point, but it would look really busy on screen to have them all running around at once, so I’d split them into smaller teams based on their skills to carry out specific parts of Ladybug’s Epic 36-Step Plan™️. It would make for a satisfying “oh yeah, it’s all coming together” montage and also give us some unique character interactions.
Ladybug picking unique combo teams of new heroes based on their skills to fight specific strong villains
Alya starting a school paper and getting the whole team in on it. I love the episodes where the class does one big project together, they’re so cute.
Someone/a group getting akumatized on purpose to disobey Hawkmoth and take advantage of their akuma’s power for a noble goal
Episode from the POV of a boring background character detailing how the life of the average Parisian is affected by LB and CN. Unreliable scheduling, monster traffic jams, the sheer embarrassment of getting got by an akuma...
I want an animal to get akumatized. Someone’s dog who feels lonely when their favorite human gets a new, demanding job and turns into a terrifying Cerberus beast or something.
Mayor Bourgeois allocates some taxpayer dollars into a LB bank account to support her, and she has to make the very important decision on whether to save it for a real emergency or buy 17 hamburgers.
Okay part of me doesn’t want to make kwami/future hero predictions in case I accidentally come up with something way cooler than what will really happen and then be disappointed, but the other part of me is like hee hoo predikshun. So don’t expect these to actually happen lol.
I won’t talk about Multimouse because we kinda know everything about her, but she looks cute and it’s nice to see two heroes who aren’t super skinny.
The silhouette of Minotaurox in the intro doesn’t offer a lot of insight other than his epic horns. I have no idea what his tool might be. His costume looks to be pretty simple/practical, though, which is in line with Ivan’s character. I heard a theory that his power will be increasing in size, and it makes sense looking at Stoneheart and the pattern of flipping the characters’ flaws on their head, but that sounds kind of boring to me, especially compared to all the other creative abilities.
Tigresse’s silhouette makes me think her design will be awesome. Her tail looks like it might be her tool. It kind of resembles Amethyst’s whip from SU so maybe she can use it to grab things like Ladybug does with her yo-yo. I heard a theory that her power will be invisibility which I support because it takes the flaw that turned Juleka into Reflekta (wanting to be invisible out of insecurity) and makes it powerful like the stealth of a tiger.
From the silhouette, Caprikid looks a bit like a beginner’s Trollhunters cosplay, but I’m sure he’ll be cool. I’ve seen people argue whether he’s Nate or Marc and I’m positive he’s Marc (making Nate CC) so if anyone asks for an explanation I’ll make the comprehensive post on why. He’s holding his tool, and I’ve seen debate over which direction it’s in. If he’s holding it pointed up it looks like a giant calligraphy brush, but I think he’s holding it pointed down and the “brush” is just a decoration on the end. I’ve heard a theory that it’s a shepherd’s cane which is my favorite one. Personal idea here: I’d make his power telekinesis. Pretty basic, but I can imagine it being very useful for the type of scenarios we see in the show without it being OP. I like the idea of using a cane to “shepherd” something through the air. This could reflect Reverser’s desire for control, but flip it to be more collected and useful.
I fully support Coq Courage’s ninja pants, they are simply Correct. It’d be cool if his tool was a bow and arrow, and that seems like a pretty popular theory. The shape to the left of his torso looks like it might be a quiver but it’s probably just his other arm. Thumb rings are used in archery, but what little we’ve seen of the miraculous (disguised on Marinette and Chloe) shows a different type of ring. Still tho. Also get ready for my crazy never-gonna-happen idea: the bow can turn into a hang glider. Roosters can fly, but not super well/freely, which could translate to gliding. It’d add some versatility to the way the heroes move around since a lot of the temporary ones can only run, and it would let him reach places LB might not be able to. I’ve heard a theory that his power will be supersonic voice which could contrast how Nathaniel is bad at communicating and quiet until he gets mad and blows up.
Orikko might be the kwami of illumination. Roosters are associated with the sun and Evillustrator’s power was sourced from light. At first I thought his transformation words might be “sunrise” and “sunset” but someone said the activation code could be “rise and shine” which sounds awesome.
Traquemoiselle, believe it or not, is actually in the intro, she’s just hidden at the very top and only a snippet of the head is showing. All we know is that she has round dog ears. Barrk is surprisingly one of the more fleshed-out kwamis as of now, having a few solid lines of characterization in Furious Fu. Kwamis are usually yin-yang to their holder, so Barrk fits Sabrina perfectly, being loyal yet independent while Sabrina is loyal and an absolute doormat. No clue about her tool. Her power is kinda in the name: tracking. Maybe she can track down some one specific thing of her choice, but maybe she can sniff out akumas. As seen in Dark Owl and Gang of Secrets, Hawkmoth can be creative with akuma placement, so she can probably save the team from some close calls.
I have no theories for the transformation words of the other kwamis. Ziggy or Stompp could include “horns” or “charge” and Roaar “stripes” but I can’t think of any phrase including those words that isn’t too similar to an existing one. There are some phrases based on powers, though, not the animal. Or maybe they’ll just give up and give us another iteration of “Sass, scales slither”.
I think the theme for one of these remaining new heroes might be “assertion”. A lot of them struggle with that as their civilian selves, and the animals that are left can all be associated with independence/dominance, not that the animal traits always play into what the heroes are.
Ok last one, long one: in season 3, Luka’s main traits were “cool and nice” which doesn’t make for an interesting, complex major character, and at first he seemed like the perfect love interest, but from an outside perspective the extent of his kindness is kind of disturbing. I’m hoping they can flip this around and turn it into a character flaw where he has practically no boundaries, and it turns into a problem. Maybe he could agree to run random errands for the background characters for nothing in return, and at first it’s just him being nice, but later people start seeing his help as an obligation. They get peeved when he’s unavailable one day and get akumatized into a “boss rush” of classic akumas, effectively trapping and forcing him to help them. Then Tigresse Pourpe comes and helps save the day, expanding on Juleka and Luka’s relationship. The resolution can teach kids that putting yourself first isn’t necessarily selfish, and that sitting back and letting people take advantage of your kindness isn’t heroic.
There’s probably some stuff I forgot which I can put in a different post later, but lmk if you want a separate post about any of these things in more detail! This was just me rambling out all my new hyperfixation thoughts. Also if anyone uses any of the hypotheticals/scenarios as a prompt I’d love to see it.

Behind the scenes
The Mandalorian Modern AU.
Pairing: The Mandalorian x fem!reader
Summary: You are a photographer and a cosplay convention worker. Nothing really interesting happens at these events, but this one... this one brings different feelings when you met that man wearing a glowing helmet.
Warnings: none.
A/N: Well, it is my very first time writing some mandalorian stuff. I'm sorry if it's a little too long and boring, I promise it will get better with time. I actually saw a mandalorian cosplayer at a convention I've worked last year so somethings here may be real. Since English isn't my mother language you may found some grammar errors while reading and if you do, please, let me know so I can fix it :). Hope you enjoy this!
----------------------
Tumblr media
You always liked cosplay, it was never a secret. In the beginning your parents thought it was just a hobby, then they told you it was madness and a total loss of time spending months organizing an event and then more hours strolling with a camera in your hand. But then they understood that it makes you happy, in your way of being happy.
It is almost a relief, both for you and for anyone who participates of these events, being who you really are. The vast majority awaits a whole year for the convention, it's like one of the few places where you can act according to your strange taste for space wars or romance about vampires. Or more recent, the k-pop fans. Once a year, you are not the weird nerd who sits alone at lunch break. Everyone there is in the same boat to suffer bullying from elementary school to college, even at work, but there we all are the same.
Cosplayers carry a little bit of each character with them, and they seem to do the magic of movie superheroes as they enter a dark alley like civilians and get out of there in extravagant fantasies. Their look changes, so as their physiognomy, all insecurities, low self-esteem, anxiety and the many social issues that plague most of us simply stays outside the event. People stop them while walking around the event, asking for pictures in character poses, and most of the time it's you who takes the pictures. In addition, you help them to wear the clothes and everything, like a staff. It does not pay much, but it already helps until something better comes up. You graduated at Design school about two years ago and has been a difficult time for professionals in this area, now that anyone downloads Photoshop and some more templates ready for small companies and many of them prefer to pay less for it. Still, you have good friends and they always designate you for some freelance that pays enough to insure yourself for a month or two, until something new appears. Being a photographer helps too, since being at an event full of people wanting good photos already yields a few hundred in your Paypal account. Most cosplayers look quite eccentric, in fact, and barely speak. When they speak, they do not leave the character in a scary, but funny way at the same time. Leaving insecurities without becoming one asshole is very difficult in these cases, but some are nice people. Like a guy who always brings his girlfriend to the event and every year they wear a different cosplay couple. This year, he was Han Solo and she was Princess Leia.
“Hey, (y/n)! Can you take a picture of us?” the boy approached, smiling, holding his girlfriend's hand.
“Sure!” You adjusted the focus of the camera the moment an armoured guy passed behind them.
You have seen that model of armour, of course. There is no way to forget Boba Fett's armour. You didn't know much about the culture involved, but remembered that there was some race or creed and thought it was cool. You could imagine the work he must have done to assemble each piece of this armour. It was silver, with very good details, as if he really was using steel and had been fighting against a dragon or something like.
Anyway, it caught your attention.
The couple moved closer to look at the photo and a second of you looking at the camera, still a little fascinated by the figure, was enough to lose the sight of him when you looked behind them again. Curious. You showed the photo to them while still looking around, looking for the armoured man who walked so calmly a few seconds ago.
“Thank you!” The girl smiled, looking at the photo. When she noticed the figure glossy in the background, her eyes sparkled. “Woow! Is this a Boba Fett or what?!”
“I thought the same thing! But I don't think it's exactly Boba.” You smiled, putting a lock of hair behind your ear. “If you guys find him, say that I want to take some pictures, something for… the event.” They waved and kept walking.
When you thought you saw the helmet strolling through the crowd again, Greef Karga, your supervisor touches your shoulder and makes your attention turn to him.
“(Y/n), I need you to help with some troubles in the dressing room, silly thing but they need someone with experience in dealing with those dickheads” He sighed. Greef, a black guy over fifty years. He also wore a dark blue shirt with the logo of the event as you did and had a moustache. He was like a second father to you, and always supported the event and even got you some freelances.
“Alright.”
The problem in the dressing room was between two women, one using a blonde wing and the other, using a long, red wing. The ‘blonde’ one swore that the redhead had stolen her blue eyeliner and the redhead, in addition to denying it, swore even in her mother’s name that the blonde one had stolen her Lancôme foundation. Nothing that had never happened before, but it was certainly something that should not spread out through the corridors.
“This red bitch steals my eyeliner! This is absurd, is there no security in this place? Cameras?” said the blonde, her wig gave an extra head on her size. Her makeup half-finished and still wearing only the pants of what would be her cosplay.
“Not here, because you change clothes in here.” You started, in a calm voice. Saying ‘please, calm down’ isn’t the better thing to say to someone who’s clearly not at the mood to calm down. The best thing is to transmit this through your voice and the way you look. “Have you looked calmly in the bags? Maybe near the mirrors?”
“I already showed all my things to this bitch and she keeps accusing me!” The redhead spoke between her teeth, her blue eyes burning in anger. She was wearing a 20 centimeters high heels and a white dress that make her look like a Greek goddess.
You started looking around, but to no avail, while they keep yelling to each other. It was better to find at least one of the things before they started to fight with the wooden swords they brought, if so things were going to get really worse. The anime songs playing in the background didn't help much and more and more cosplayers approached to ask what was going on.
There was nothing more hateful than kneeling on that floor, full of fantasy remains, hair - some wigs, others were real hair - feathers and scattered glitter. But still you got on your knees and started looking as fast as you could, touching under the various suitcases left on the floor and asking for permission where you were crawling. Until you look under one of the dressing room mirrors, the ones with the lights around, and see a clear bottle. The damn foundation must have fallen and the redhead, so worried about something else, didn't notice. The bottom of the bottle had “Kayla” written with red nail polish.
“Who's Kayla?” You asked.
The redhead looked down and her face fell into an expression that seemed a mixture of shame and joy at finding the base.
“See it? I said I didn't stole anything!” The blonde said, sighing and looking to you “How cool, she got the damn foundation back. But where's my eyeliner?!”
“Is that an eyeliner?” a modulated voice echoed behind you.
Slowly, you stood up and looked back to face the armoured man. He was pointing to the blonde, but not actually to her. It was something at her. You were very impressed with the voice, the helmet must have some technology stuff that could make his voice sound this way and it's amazing. Not every cosplayer pay attention to this detail when wearing a character that wears a helmet. It looks like there’s no difference, but it actually does.
Here are you again wondering about the “silver Boba Fett” (that’s how you decided to call him in your mind until remember what character he’s wearing).
“Can I?” he asked and after receiving a nod from the blonde, he approached her carefully.
You, Kayla and two other cosplayers were watching the scene. Lightly, he removed something caught between her huge hairstyle, without ruining the whole thing.
“Here you got.” He gently said with a smooth chuckle in the end.
“T-thank you". It was almost a whisper. She received the eyeliner and looked down.
“You’re welcome.”
“Apparently it was with you all the time.” You said, shrugging your shoulders and making a ‘I told you to look calmly to things, girl’ face.
They were both embarrassed, but at least they had stopped accusing each other and cursing in every possible way.
“I think it's everything okay now, right?” You asked and they just waved, without looking at each other. “Well, good luck in the competition, girls!”
“Sorry for the uproar...” Kayla looked at your little badge, with an expression still a little embarrassed.“(Y/n), thanks for your time.”
You smiled in a corner as you looked for the armoured man. “and you-"
He was no longer there. You stared at the place where he should have been, and for a few seconds you looked around, but to no avail. It was funny to still look for him, even though he is just a stranger with a very good cosplay with whom you would like to exchange a couple of words, take some pictures, maybe have a coffee...
After leaving the room, a cosplayer dressed as Geralt of Rivia approached.
A guy of almost two meters, in full costume and holding the saddlebag with both swords, looked like a wall standing in front of him.
“Hi, uh... I wanted to register for the contest, can you help me with this, (y/n)? - His voice was deep, but it didn't seem to have anything to do with the character, as he sounded naturally strong and calm. After a while in this environment, you learn to differentiate.
“Ah, yes, I'll take you there!”
---
You stepped away from the crowded areas a bit and went close to the backstage, texting other co-workers to see if anyone needed any help somewhere. There always was, but no one answered in a while, so you got a sandwich in the cafeteria and leaned close to the staff room to eat where the crowd didn't seem to notice you. Behind a big event, a lot happens. A lot of things go wrong, but also every little thing that works, each small problem solved without causing curious eyes, was a big good thing to the convention. The work was simple, in general, and you didn't have much to worry about except the public's entertainment and mainly: Don't annoy cosplayers. They suck at observing and praising good things, but are quick to see any loose wire on the wall to complain about the risk of electric shock on social media. Of course not all of them were like this but still, there are always a dozen assholes to ruin your year-long job in a few minutes by typing 280 characters on Twitter.
But the armoured guy... He seemed to be oblivious to the two types mentioned. You didn't see him in the dressing room, when you had to go there, or at the event's photo studio. There was always a glimpse of the shiny helmet standing out from everyone, and you always gave a silly little smile when he waved that helmet to you. And it's very important to remember the helmet, because you haven't seen it without it all day. And you have been curious, curious to ask several silly questions.
Did he not eat all day? Worse, didn't he drink water?! You finished the sandwich with that feeling that you should see if he ate just to see if he would agree to go to the cafeteria with you later. But of course you got busy sometimes, so there’s no way to be a stalker.
“(Y/n)??? HEY!” Greef waved his arms in front of your face, as if he wanted to wake you up from something, but you weren't sleeping-
Oh.
“Oh, sorry, Greef. I got distracted” You hugged yourself awkwardly.
He shook his head in disapproval and opened the employees’ room door to show you something.
“Well, there are some boxes to carry to the warehouse, back there.” he pointed to the other side of the place. At least you wouldn't have to go through the crowd, you could go behind the stage and then through the sides.
An easy work, however, there is always something heavy to do. You agreed and saw the image of Greef Karga getting lost among the nerds he hated so much, precisely because he was one of them since the 1980s. You faced the three boxes, probably full of cables and other production's stuff and ran your hand through your hair to arrange it in a high bun, so it wouldn't disturb you.
You carried each box out of the room and stacked the three outside, closing the door. Okay, you can do it.
Can't you?
Carrying all three at once would save time and of course it was unreliable to take one at a time, leaving it alone and being stolen, who knows? You bend down to try to load them, but it was kind of obvious that it wouldn't work. You try again and even let out a few grunts, but it still doesn't work. The crowd in front of you remains like a cluster of ants that have something better to do and by the rules you should never accept help from anyone but your co-workers.
“Alright.” You sigh and take out your cell phone, texting your closest colleagues.
Nobody answered, nor even read. In half an hour you should be on stage as a good staff and help the cosplay competition.
"That sounds heavy," again, the modulated voice caught your attention.
The helmet's T-visor focused on your eyes, you could feel it.
“Yeah... I don't know if they do this to me because it's my first year at this convention, I had worked in many other but-" a sigh comes out of your lips and he analyses you carefully, with his hands at his sides. “You don't even have to hear that, I shouldn't complain about these things with a-“
You stop when you were going to say something wrong, at least for the situation.
“With a strange nerd wearing an armour and a toy gun around his waist?” His metallic voice sounded serious, but in such a serious way that it was funny.
You kind of laughed, looking around.
“It was just a joke, I guess” he added and then laughed too.
His laugh send a heat to your heart.
“I didn't want to-, I don't even know which character you are, you know... I'm sorry for that, but I really have to start carrying this.” You try to change the subject.
“Would you... would you like some help there, (y/n)?”
The way he says your name behind this half-robot, half-Iron Man effect, sent a shiver down your spine. I wasn't the first stranger to say your name, of course, you carry a damn name tag on your chest. And you would love to accept help, but you shouldn't accept it or someone could see it and then you would lose the next two days of the convention by being fired.
“I thank you, really, but if someone see-"
“No one will see, I can walk behind the stage.” he pointed to the dark part where only employees pass from time to time.
“I can't, really” You smiled in a corner and held the first box in your arms, when an idea came to your mind and you looked to him. “Actually, you can help me...”
He approached the boxes and you put a hand on the path, almost touching the breastplate of the armor. He looked at you, probably confused under the helmet.
“You stay here and watch the two boxes while I take this one. So you help me and no one notices.”
“Okay, I can do this.” His voice sounded amused and you could feel his grin behind the helmet.
“You stay, okay?” You straightened the box in your arms and started walking. “Keep your beautiful armor right where. Don't move"
He laughed and raised his arms as if surrendering. So you kept walking to the dark part of the stage, walking slowly. Halfway there, you thought that you being followed by someone, but it was just an employee passing by quickly without looking at you.
When you arrived at the warehouse door, you turned your back to push this and went in that way with the box still in your arms. Walking around the warehouse was a little difficult with the amount of boxes lying on the floor, especiallyin low light, so you took a look at the box label to find out on which shelf you should leave it. Leaving the box in place, you turned to go back and gave a surprise look when you saw the two other boxes at the door, with a handwritten note on top of these.
“It is a mandalorian armor :) - D.”
A silly little smile formed on your lips and you kept the note.
Of course the most sensible thing to do, having just a few minutes until the competition, was to organize the boxes. After doing this, the first thing that comes to mind is looking for the guy with the helmet in the place where you supposedly left.
But there was no sign of him.
---
After touring the rest of the event trying to find the mandalorian, you gave up. Maybe he got tired of walking around with the costume, or him got too hot to stand with this or he simply had something better to do.
You just sat next to the stage, in the last hope of seeing you going to the cosplay competition in the shiny armor he wore. Each person who walked to the stage caught your attention, but none looked like a mandalorian, and neither they wore a similar armor.
After all, why was it so important? Armor guys comes and goes, it's not the first crazy person who incorporates too much the character to mess with you feelings. It's just a helmet fetish or something like that. There was once a guy who was cosplaying Halo's Masterchief; also had the red Power Ranger, and a black one, and pink ranger too... One time or another you would find him, or find a Boba Fett, who knows? There is still two days of event to find out.
Still, it was funny to remember how he disappears in the crowd, like he didn't really wanted to be noticed. But why the hell he wouldn't want to be? Himself chose to wear armor and come to a cosplay event, and walk around with all that bounty hunter's way around the place pulling out the eyes and whispers from all the nerds girls - and some guys too. And even though perfect in what he set out to do, apparently he doesn't want to be seen. And well, he kind of helped you solve two problems on the same day.
“And to close with a golden key, we will receive with a round of applause the our Witcher, Geralt of Rivia!” the female voice that announced each cosplayer made the thoughts stop a little while you enjoyed the perfect cosplay that paraded on stage.
The colorful lights danced as the cosplayer walked and shook his swords, even put some sound effects behind to bring a little more magic at the moment. Everything in the place became magical, in fact, the very energy that cosplayers exuded behind the stage was full of adrenaline and a touch of anxiety. But still, it was a very good energy. They felt alive to be there, to show that they trained and decorated each step of the character and that they could show it in front of the almost four thousand strangers without fear.
And when you looked at the audience, there he was, standing still and calm as he was all day. You wondered why he didn't sign up for the parade, and why he would still be there if so. The figure shone on the stage lights, with his hands on the bottom of his belly, and looked around like a security camera. It was funny, until he stopped and seemed to be staring directly to you, but not in a totally scary way.
Okay, a bit scary.
The audience went crazy with the cosplayers' performances on stage, you caught yourself with a open mouth now and then. Everyone clapped by the end of the parade and dispersed for a few moments, until the time the result would be announced. This take about 5 minutes at most, so you had to be quick and organize the awards together with Greef and one more intern, Rose. She was always so kind and very friendly to you, so that was easy to get everything prepared in a few minutes and you get up to the stage and gave the woman who presented the competition, so you could run to your comfortable spot behind the stage.
“Well guys,” she started saying in the microphone, looking for the paper on her hands. “It seems like we have our very first two finalists of our cosplay competition today!”
Everyone in the crowd clapped and yelled in excitement, but for the thousand time when you searched for the mandalorian he just disappeared. Well, in the end, he's not the ‘to be found’ type, but the ‘to find you'. So you had an idea.

Robstar Week day 2: Cosplay
Don’t Hide It
The only reason I put “Robstar Week” on the tittle, is so that people know that’s my entry. But it’s nice having a word that must be the center theme of the story, else, I would’ve never thought of writing this.
I’m sorry I’m taking so long. I have a few proyects going on and I must supervise all of them. You know how in every group of friends, there’s the “Mom” friend, because they’re the responsible ones? Well, I’m the mom, and I have to help my children not to fuck up
Enjoy!
——————————————————
Summary: Starfire doesn’t think she is the right person to cosplay. Who else can make her change her mind but the boy wonder himself?
——————————————————
Starfire stared at her reflection with a frown. This was the third time she changed clothes and hair style, and still not one outfit had convinced her. She took off her black wig and let her hair down from it’s updo. She placed the fake hair contraption on her bed, along with all of her failed attempts.
“Let’s see: Not The Wasp, not Hinata, and definitely not Sailor Mars...Ugh!!!” Kori plopped down into her bed and closed her eyes. There was nothing she could do at this time. She tried to think of a plan that could save her from not going. She could pretend to be sick...but that would make some of her friends worry and take care of her, and Robin and her would also miss the convention. What about saying that she had to go to a special and urgent mission that The Batman had encomended her and her only? No, Robin would immediately contact him, explaining that this was the Titans day off, and that was something NO-ONE messed with (after Tokyo, Robin took vacations seriously).
Starfire sat up and begun to gather all the costumes to hide them under her bed. What was she thinking when she said yes to cosplay?! She had never done this before, she only could do so much with the time that she had been given, and, most troublesome of all, she had ORANGE SKIN. No amount of makeup in the world would cover it up to look like the characters she liked from comics, books or anime. She would never be able to cosplay without looking ridiculous. But her thoughts were interrupted when there was a knock on her door.
“Star? Can I come in for a sec?”. It was her three month boyfriend, Richard Grayson. She remembered when he talked to her about the Con of the Comic. How marvelled he had seemed at the hundreds of entertainments and how his eyes had glimmered when he spoke about the cosplay. His exact words lingered on her head: “I’ve always wanted to do it, but it felt dumb to do it alone”. Well, she being his girlfriend, and not wanting to disappoint him, what other thing could she do but say yes?
“Y-yes, of course, boyfriend Robin.” She threw the garments on her hands to one corner of the room in an attempt to ignore them and not worry her lover. Richard came into the room and closed the door. He turned around and noticed the worried grin on her favourite alien’s face, almost like a fake smile, as if she was trying to hide something. He placed a quick peck on her left cheek, making her blush slightly. He took a step back and extended his arms, grabbing her wrists gently.
“Why the long face, Kori? Something I can help you with?”. Koriand’r looked to one side, then the other, avoiding his gaze. Finally, she closed her eyes and directed her head to the floor. Robin used one hand and placed it on her chin, lifting up her eyes so that they met his. She slowly moved her lips, barely making a whisper. Dick tried to close the space between them, so that he and only he could hear whatever she had to say. “Sorry, what did you say?”. Yet it didn’t work, as Starfire turned around and hugged herself. Richard, oblivious to what was happening, pleaded. “Please, don’t hide what’s wrong. I want to help”
“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry for how I look, and for not knowing so much of the shows as you, and for promising something that is simply impossible for me, and for disappointing you and...!”. She was cut of by a passionate kiss on her lips. Robin had placed his hands on her waist and gone for it. Star was so surprised, she didn’t close her eyes at first, but relaxed into it when the tears couldn’t let her see anymore. The small drops fell through her cheeks and into her mouth, allowing both to taste the saltiness. One of his hands trailed its way up to her face, cupping it and stroking the back of her ear with his fingertips. After a couple of minutes, Dick pulled apart their lips, but kept their faces close, making their foreheads touch to stay connected.
“There’s absolutely nothing to be sorry about. There’s nothing wrong with the way you look, the way you are, ever. Because you are the most amazing person I have aver and could’ve ever encountered in my life, okay?” Kori didn’t say anything, only nodded. “Okay, so in summary, and from what I gathered, you can’t find a costume, right?”. Richard stepped back and looked around. A couple of clothes were laying messily in the corner of the room, and a wig had hooked itself on the edge of an open drawer.
“No, you would be correct on that. My skin is too orange, while all of the characters have a paler complexion. Also, there are not many redheads that I like and can do the cosplay of them, at least, not without being too revealing”. Both of them blushed at the thought of her revealing too much. “Not for others eyes but mine” , Robin thought, although he knew it would be a long time until that moment came. “I cannot help but think that I will look ridiculous, no matter what costume I wear”.
“Star, that’s exactly what cosplay is about” Kori looked confused. “Sorry, let me explain. Cosplay is about feeling like the character you are portraying, and taking pictures with the people that admire them just as much as you do. It’s about getting into those clothes and feeling invincible, and everyone appreciating all the details put into the hole ensemble. Yeah, you can look amazing, but sometimes you can look ridiculous, especially if you are an amateur like us. But all the people on the convention don’t care, because they know they are dorky too. That’s the best about the convention, we can all be dorks together! And look ridiculous together!”. Richard took a step back and flung his arms in the air, making Starfire giggle a little. He then realized he was getting carried away, and took a deep breath. “Look, what I’m trying to say is that, yeah, we will probably look ridiculous, but we´ll do it together! And the people at Comic-con can’t judge us because there was a time in which they looked ridiculous too. It takes a lot of bravery to cosplay, and that someone shows up dressed up like a character is already something to applaud, even if they look weird and have a lot of things from the character missing. So, don’t ever think you could look ridiculous, okay?”
Kori blushed and rose a hand to her cheek, delighted by the words that her soul mate had spoken. It was one of the reasons they were both attracted to the other: they always knew the right words to say when the other was in distress. She smiled cutesely and closed her eyes, radiating happiness all over the bedroom. Dick secretly loved that smile from her, and she knew it. He stretched his arms out and grabbed both her hands. “So, do you still wanna cosplay? Or do you want us to go in our civilian clothes?"
Star softly smiled and asked "What would you suggest, Robin?". She looked at the stash of discarded clothes, still very unsure of them, as she kept thinking she hadn’t found the right one. The thoughts of not going crawled to her mind again, and Richard probably felt it too, as he replied.
"It makes no difference to me. I think you always look gorgeous. But if I had to choose, there’s someone that you can go as without having to put a second hand wig, and you are just as, if not more of a badass than her”. He went into her closet and got out a simple pale yellow t-shirt. He turned on his steps and headed through the door. “Be right back, I gotta go get something for you”.
——————————————————-
As the pair holded hands, they headed into the building, and both marveled on the wonders inside. Starfire could not believe such creations could come into live so realistically. Robin stared at his girlfriend up and down: A dark green dress, a pale yellow shirt and a blue bracelet, combined with her red mane, made the perfect Kushina Uzumaki.
“Oh, Richard, such a display of joyful people was not something I could have ever thinked of. You spoke incredible things about the Con of the Comic, but this is simply...spectacular!! And you had the best idea too!” She eyed him carefully, analyzing his ensemble: the white robe with the painted red flames, navy blue shirt and pants, a simple green vest, and a blue headband with a metal rectangle, engraved with a leaf, attached to it. “I must admit, you make a great Minato, although we didn’t manage to find the wig”.
“Nor the right vest either, but it really doesn’t matter, I’m glad that we came here like this. See that everyone likes it?”. Dick nudged his head to the side, signaling a couple of fans that were pointing at them in awe and taking pictures from afar.
“You were absolutely right. I did not know there was a thing such as a couples costume. It is the best idea”. She also hadn’t told him, but Minato Namikaze was one of her favourite characters from Naruto. Plus, having the day with Richard, dressed as one of her favourite characters, without him covering his cerulean eyes for her to explore? Starfire was having a blast, and she had all day to enjoy. What did it matter if their costumes were not the best? Or if they looked a bit ridiculous compared to others? She was having the time of her life, taking pictures with fans and others that were doing cosplay of her favourite characters. It didn’t matter that her skin was orange, or that her eyes were green and Kushina’s were blue. Fans appreciated courage, and creativity. But above all, they loved self expression, especially because events like this were designed to express themselves. Being on this embracing community, how could she ever have thought that she would embarrass Robin? So she embraced her weirdness just like she had before, and never hid her insecurities from him, or anyone, ever again.

Hope Everyone Enjoys. :)
RobStar Week 2018 Day 2: Cosplay
Starfire looked at herself in the mirror.
After a difficult month of finding the right fabric, she had purchased a sewing machine and gotten a hold of many books teaching her how to make her costume just right. To be honest, it was that different from how they would make clothing in Tamaran and she felt proud of her hard work.
Getting the spider symbol right proved to be quite the challenge though. Her design did not look nearly as good as the one in the comics.
The red and white smashed wonderfully on her and since she already had red hair, Starfire did not have to worry about getting a wig or doing anything taxing on her hair.
All that was left was a mask.
Starfire’s new found comic book friends had told her they were called domino masks. At that, she felt embarrassed for not knowing that because her boyfriend always wore a domino mask almost constantly.
The convention was in a week and was suppose to last three days. Starfire really only wanted to go to the Saturday event because the writer and artists of Renew Your Vows were going to be there for a book signing and give away merchandise. She wanted to impress them with her costume.
Starfire was going as Spinneret.
Her chance encounter into the comic book world had happen by accident a few months ago. She was going to the market to get some groceries for a surprised feast when she made the mistake of knocking into some guy. The guy was reading a book as he was walking so he was not exactly paying attention to Starfire, but the bump had happened.
Because of her alien strength, Starfire had accidentally pushed the guy a few steps back with the book jumping out of his hands. Once she realized what had happened, she had quickly flew to pick the poor guy up and grab his book.
When Starfire went to pick the book up, she notice that it was nothing but pictures of people in masks and costume swinging around the city (not to different from what Robin does).
As the guy was shaking his head to try and gain his composure back, Starfire took the chance to flip through the pages of the book. She had heard about these. They were about a group of superheroes just like her and her friends...but they were only fictional.
Before the guy even had the chance to say anything, Starfire quickly brought the book to his face and pointed at it. “Where can I purchase these books?”
And that was the start of her comic book obsession. In particular the Renew Your Vows comics with Spider-Man, his wife Spinneret, and their daughter Spiderling.
They were all so cute together. Starfire just couldn’t help but be drawn into a world where a family of superheroes not only fight crime together, but they also go through real life issues together.  The Spider-Man being cute was great too (though not as cute as her boyfriend).
But Starfire has also tried to keep this new obsession from her fellow teammates.
While it did not bother her, she knew the real superhero community might not be so keen about people writing about fictional superheroes. Of course she did not hear it from them personally, but it was a feeling she had.
Plus she did not want them to think she was more invested in fictional heroes.
Starfire was still admiring her costume in the mirror when she heard a knock on her door.
“Star are you in? Can I talk to you?”
“R-Robin! Hold on!” She dashed to find some robe she could throw on. Starfire had made it her sole mission to not let anyone find out, especially the person who she considered the love of her life.
After over a minute of trying to find a robe and making sure everything was covered, she finally pressed the button to open the door. He had on civilian clothes saved his domino mask.
“I was wondering if you wanted to go see a movie. Just the two of us and then we can go to the arcade.” He smiled at her and that made her heart almost explode.
She could not see why they should not go out. There was no crime to fight. There has not been any suspicious activity in the city for a while. Plus, she had a whole week to work on her mask for the convention.
“Of course I would love to!” She exclaimed. “Let me just put something nice right quick.”
It was not until they were at the theater that Starfire remembered the theater was inside Jump City’s Mall…where the mini arcade was also location.
It is also in the mall where her regular comic book store was located.
If she was suddenly acting strange, she sure hoped Robin did not notice.
He held her hand all throughout their walk to to the theater. According to him, they were going to see some spy thriller movie about a guy who goes undercover as a secret agent to take down a spy corporation from within.
Starfire simply nodded and said it sounded fun.
She could not concentrate during the movie. It was not that the movie was bad (though she wasn’t fully paying attention to it), but being in the mall let her to start thinking about her Spinneret costume. She needed a domino mask and there her boyfriend was, with a domino mask covering his eyes.
She stared at him almost through the whole movie. In her head, she was mentally drawing how he looked with the mask and how perfect it fitted his face.
Without thinking, her fingers started to brush his cheek and that’s when Robin turned to face her. “Star?”
“HIIEE!”
Starfire screamed without thinking and quickly turned to the other side so she would not be facing her boyfriend. A few people in the theater ‘Hussh’ her or told her to be quiet. She did not really pay them any mind, but it did cause Robin to pat her on the shoulder.
“Are you alright Star?” He said. He sounded so concerned. “If you don’t like the movie, we can do something else?”
“Tha-That would be nice.”
Anywhere else would be better than sitting in a room for two hours mentally drawing her boyfriend’s face. Not that she would not have any problems doing it under normal circumstance (he was very nice to look at), but she just felt wrong that she was using him as a mental guinea pig for her silly hobby.
After a few minutes of following him, Starfire was so preoccupied with doing something else that she did not realize that the something else requires still being at the mall. The booming neon lights and the sounds of video games being played woke Starfire to the fact that she was going inside the Arcade.
Robin did say he wanted to go to the Arcade today.
When they stepped inside, there was a huge list of eyes starring at them. Being a superhero means you were kind of famous and because the Teen Titans were fans of having fun, the team hung out here pretty often.
“Star look!”
Robin pulled her into room where the music guitar game was at. There the boy who was also playing stopped and smirked at him. He motioned for Robin to take the guitar onside of him as a challenge.
It was challenge Robing easily took.
Starfire stood there in awe as her boyfriend was easily defeating the other guy. She always enjoyed seeing him having fun. When they first met, he use to take things way more seriously and keep things to himself. Now he was freely having fun.
And she was having fun…for a while.
Then the idea came to her. Since Robin was busy playing music guitar, he probably would not notice if she just left him for a bit to go visit the Comic- No!
She shook her head and slapped her cheeks. Today was just a simply crime free evening for her to spend with her boyfriend and that was it. That was it. That was it.
That was really what she wanted to do, but as she kept saying that to herself, Starfire found herself further away from Robin and walking around the mall.
Her new plan was to simply go to the bathroom and freshen up. It was not like she was leaving Robin by himself or anything. She was simply going to wash her face. Sure the comic book was a store she had to pass up, but that was not her destination.
No.
Starfire felt guilty.
Not only has she been keeping her little comic book collection hobby a secret from her friends and teammates, but she has been keeping it a secret from her boyfriend. Robin was going to notice that she was acting strange in the move theater. He was going to notice that she has left him at the arcade.
She should just turn around and go back. Have fun with her boyfriend, play against him in that music guitar game he has gone to love so much and-
“Missy is that you? Come to shop around?!”
That is when Starfire jumps and realizes she is right in front of the comic book store once again.
Though she has never really said her name, she always had a feeling the owner of the shop recognized her as the superhero Starfire. He was always so polite to her. He would give her recommendations to a different comic book series very often. Of course Renew Your Vows was her favorite, but those only came out once a month.
The owner came walking out to the front of the door. He held up a miniature box and smiled. “I been waiting for you to pass by. We just got these in our shipment just two days ago. I’m not sure how well you are familiar with Funko Pops, but we just got a shipment of the Spinneret ones.” He stretched out his arm to her. “I am giving you one for being such a hero and a dedicated shopper here.”
A very warm feeling almost exploded in her chest. Starfire was ready to give the comic book owner a big hug when suddenly she heard a voice.
“Star!”
Both Starfire and the owner turned their heads to Robin. He was walking briskly towards them and Starfire could tell he had a look on his face. It was not a mad look, but one that was full of concern.
“Are you okay? You been acting really strange lately and then you just ditched me at the arcade.” He placed a hand on her shoulder. “Are you feeling sick? Is something bothering you and you need to talk about it?”
The owner was oblivious to her little problem. He took Starfire’s hand and place the Funko Pop in the palm of her hand. “Your girlfriend just won herself an exclusive Spinneret Pop for being such a loyal customer. It’s weird but I don’t get a lot of heroes coming to read comic books about heroes. I guess your lives are pretty exciting already.”
Robin looked at the book in her hand. “Comic books?”
Starfire’s face was now turning red. Was he going to be disgusted with her for her hobby?  Did he think she was weird now? Starfire hoped now. She could not take rejection.
The owner chuckled and padded her on the back. “This Missy right here is going to Jump City’s Comic-Con this weekend as Spinneret. Last time she was here she said she was even almost done. Are you going too? Make sure nobody tries to flirt with your girl?”
“Umm..umm.. Star?”
Starfire did not know what else to do in that situation but to just fly away. She hoped Robin could forgive her for running off without him again, but she did not want to see his disgusted look when he realized his girlfriend was one of those people who read comic books.
When she got home to her room in the tower, she just spent two hours just looking at her Spinneret costume.
It was way past the amount of time it would take for Robin to make it back to the tower, and to be honest, she could not tell or knew if he was already here. Maybe he just did not want to talk to her. He was a great person and true leader, so he would obviously still treat her with respect. Respect alone though did not mean he would like her personally.
She wondered how it was for Spider-Man when Mary Jane first found out his secret. Did she not talk to him for awhile. Did they break up? They are married now so she must of have forgiven him.
But her boyfriend was not Mary Jane.
It was almost midnight and Starfire was just starting to doze off when she heard a knock at her door. Her head jumped up and it caused Silky to worm away.
“Star? Are you awake?”
Starfire rubbed her eyes. She slowly got out of bed to go open the door. She took slow steps because it was not something she was looking forward to. Her boyfriend was going to reject her. He was nice so they were still going to be teammates, but that was going to be it.
“I am...opening the door.”
Starfire kept her head down so that she would not look at his face. It was night so the Titans Tower was already pretty dark within the hallways. That gave her the perfect chance to pretend she was talking to a dark void so that the rejection would not hurt so bad.
“Aren’t you going to look at me?” He said.
Starfire eyes stayed looking at the ground. She brought her hands to her chest. “Robin, I am sorry for leaving you earlier. I was ashamed when you found out about my…my weird hobby. But I really like comic books about heroes. I know it is weird because we are real heroes but they make me happy.”
She heard him chuckling. Was he laughing at the situation or at her?
“Star look at me. I’m not made.”
She sighed. Starfire slowly raised her head up ready to face the emotion that was going to show on Robin’s face. That was the plan, but “Robin! You?”
She could not see his face.
It was covered. In fact, his whole head was covered by a mask.
“How do I look?” He turned around so that she would have a full view of his costume, not just the mask. The red and blue fitted him so perfectly. It would match so good with her Spinneret cost-
“You are Spider-Man!!” She pointed one finger towards him before covering her mouths so that she would not wake any of the other teammates. Tears were starting to fall from her eyes.
Robin took off the mask so that Starfire could see his smile. “It took me forever to find a costume that fit me perfectly. Especially at the behind.” He balled the mask in his hands. “It’s not homemade like yours, but now we can go to the convention together as Spider-Man and Spinneret.”
Tears were definitively coming out her eyes now. Without warning, Starfire wrapped her arms around him for a big bear hug. She rubbed her face against his. “This is perfect! Now I just have to finish my mask and then we will be perfect! OH! The badges!” She stopped to look at him. “We have to get you a badge Robin!”
“That shouldn’t be to difficult. But Star?
“Yes?”
He padded her head. “No more hiding stuff from each other. We are in this together remember. Promise?”
Starfire’s grip on him became tighter. All of a sudden they were both falling to the floor. Now they were both laughing, mostly at each other and the situation.
“Yes, I promise.”

@akikido and @rantaroamamikun helped a bit with this one!
Angie Yonaga

And then the little “minions” of whatever she chooses to draw come to life and help her!
Drawing angels is her favorite
Superhero name: Angelica
Gonta Gokuhara
He can emulate the power of any bug he chooses

He can only emulate one specific power at a time
However, his vast knowledge and understanding of bugs allows him to switch at the drop of a hat
He’s mainly a hero who rescues others from disasters and accidents
Superhero name: Gentleman (Spelled this way but often pronounced “Gentle man”).
Himiko Yumeno
She can manipulate the elements, à la Avatar style
This is why she is known for being able to use magic
She uses a ‘wand’, which is just an elemental-resistant rod to help conduct where everything goes
Unlike Avatar, she doesn’t use her whole body to fight and mainly ‘conducts’ the elements with her hands
Superhero name: The Sorceress
Kaede Akamatsu
She has rhythmic premonition
She can foresee the rhythm of the world’s movements and uses that power to work around her opponent
She is also able to send sound waves through her fingertips that can cause damage

As well as for perfectly completeing every assignment she accepts.
Superhero name: Twoujo
Kokichi Ouma
Ouma has hypnotic powers
He can use his voice or even just his eyes to hypnotize people
Usually he uses this power for pranks, but he also convinces bad guys to let go of hostages, turn themselves in, etc.
He’s in trouble if they manage to block his voice and look away from his face, though, so he prefers to team up with a classmate while going on missions (usually Kiibo)
It’s rumored that he actually runs a supervillain crime syndicate, but no one really knows if that’’s true
Superhero name: Dice
Korekiyo Shinguuji
Shinguuji is able to speak to spirits and astral project
He receives specialized jobs because of his powers
Most of the time, though, he just communicates with spirits to learn more about humans and the past

Superhero name: Shin
Maki Harukawa
Maki can absorb other people’s powers
She’s one of the most powerful and ruthless heroes still active

She pretends she hates it, but really she’s glad he’s there to keep her from going to far or forgetting who she is
Once defeated an entire syndicate without sustaining any injuries
Superhero name: Harumaki
Miu Iruma
Iruma has the power to melt things at fast rates
She doesn’t use it in battles very much; instead, she uses it to create high tech gear that she can use against villains
Of course, she invents everything herself
She also revels in melting her opponent’s armor from time to time
Superhero name: Lady Deliquescense
Ryouma Hoshi
He has lightning-fast reflexes
Good luck landing a hit on him, because all he needs is a second and he’s gone
He’s trained himself to have pretty accurate aim as well
Once, he went too far in stopping a supervillain...
Ever since, he hasn’t been on a single job, and tried to turn himself in to the police
Superhero name: Blue Skull
Rantarou Amami
He can read minds and use a bit of telekinesis
When he and Kaede work together, the villain doesn’t stand a chance
Actually, he often teams up with Saihara and Kaede, and the three of them make up the most powerful trio of heroes still active
Amami specializes in strategizing and info collection
He comes up with plans on the spot for their team to win fights and avoid causalities
Superhero name: Emerald Mask
Shuuichi Saihara
He can pass through solid objects and negate the powers of others
If he’s touching another person, he can pull them through objects as well
His negation doesn’t last too long, but he trains every day to increase the time he can keep it up
More often than not, he is the one to save civilians in surrounding areas or back up the other two
But there’s nothing he’d rather do than protect his friends
He didn’t know what to name himself, so Amami gave him his hero name and it stuck.
Superhero name: Slyhara
Tenko Chabashira
Tenko has superhuman strength/senses and is able to generate force fields
She usually acts as Himiko’s shield, and the two of them are an unofficial duo

In this way, she can transform normal clothes into armor and vice versa, manipulate her hair to be able to stretch and harden, and other such things
Her costume changes nearly every single day
Often, she uses her power to imitate her favorite characters and their outfits
Because she “manipulates materials and her own personality” for her “cosplay outfits”, she is known as...
Superhero name: Manipulator

Spy Au
**This got very very long it could be it’s own story**
Anxiety is a spy for the independent organization  T.H.O.U.G.H.T. (Tactical Harrowing Omniscience of Urgent Governing and Hyperbole Tenacity. Pranks had come up with the name as a joke, and every adapted it to spite him. No one outside of the team knows the true meaning behind T.H.O.U.G.H.T.).
Codename Anxiety’s team consists of technical support: Codename Logic, Diversion team: Morality and Pranks, and Tactical Adviser: Misleading Compliment. There’s a sixth and final member of the team that no one outside of the group knows of. The secret strength behind everyone. Codename Imagination.
Anxiety’s been undercover for months, trying to take down an undercover network of business lead only by the one known as “The Blind”. They have there hands in every single business you can think of.
What they don’t know, is there team had been found out months earlier, “The Blind” were simply waiting for the moment to strike.
The day they decide to go through with their plan, A young man gets caught up in the mix. They take him by mistake, and now it’s up to Anxiety’s team to extract the civilian from enemy hands. (Because they are here to protect the innocent from the shadows and now because of them they’ve put an innocent in harms way).
They refer to the civilian as “Prince” due to the fact that he had been wearing some sort of Prince costume when he was taken (Prince had been cosplaying on the wrong day). They spend months tracking down where Prince was taken, and when they go in for extraction they find their enemies had been less than kind to him.
Anxiety, Morality, and Pranks were sent in to find and rescue Prince, and once they find him it’s a race against the clock to get him out and get him medical attention. During the mission however, Anxiety is badly hurt.
Cut to months of recovery for the both of them, and in that time they become close. Close enough that Anxiety trusts this innocent and, with the consent of his team, offers him a spot on the team.
This is how Anxiety gains a partner. Codename Prince.
Now, they all spend there time tracking down “The Blind” And his associates and making the world a better place.
Along the way, well, who’s to say a relationship wouldn’t blossom?
