My experience with doing a Joker Cosplay out on the streets

I`ve been doing this Joker cosplay with my beloved @missjoker96 for 3 days straight now. We walked down the streets, through the city, stopped at street cafes, did some shopping. We even found some stairs to dance on.

At first we thought peoples reactions might be bad (in the bus or at the store ect) but the big surprise was that people`s reactions turned out to be wonderful. So many of them asked us to take photos with them. Kids came up and asked us to do macic tricks. Many watched us while dancing on the stairs. Some people wanted to talk about the movie, others told us how much they appriciate us bringing some joy into this city,

I am close to tears thinking about how this is exactly what Arthur wanted!

He would have been so happy if he had gotten the same reactions. I feel like  @missjoker96 and I did this for him. I hope he watched us, I hope he saw peoples reactions. That they actually enjoyed him. I hope he is proud..

When we saw the police coming up to us we got a bit nervous but even the police men wished us a very good time and thought it was a cool thing to do.

Some told us it is brave to just go out dressed as Joker but I think sometimes you just have to do what you love and express how you feel.

We did this because we felt like it and we wanted to make people smile. See their reactions.  Show them that Arthut/Joker is somwone who wants to spread joy. And I really think we managed to do so.

We will definitely continue cosplaying Joker out on the streets. This is just the beginning. We will plan on getting better, learning the dances, magic tricks and stuff like that, so we will be ready next spring.

The weather is still warm enough to do two more cosplays this month. So we`ll be back for about  6 days soon.

If you ever felt like going out as Joker. Just do it. You might be surprised how much people will love it.

Last month, I was commissioned to make a Rose Crest ring from Revolutionary Girl Utena. I don't know much about the anime and have only seen the trippy ending sequence as part of a panel on magical girls, but I did enjoy making the ring! Rather than just ink the outlines, I left the outlines untouched and inked the insides. I think it looks better that way, and it's more accurate to the source material. I've included some of my progress photos in this set if you're interested in that. I may eventually add these to my shop, but I want to focus on finishing these keychains for now. Art by Kytri on tumblr...So over the years I've seen myself change, in some ways for good, in others, not so much. I've tried to keep learning new things to improve my cosplays, but in my pursuit...I lost my own style. I have tried to learn so I can be "just as good as that cosplayer" or "in the same league as this cosplayer", I started comparing myself and trying to change to be just like everyone else...but I came across a comment that made me stop...It talked about how they enjoyed the fact that I made my Eridan cosplay for only $25, and that it was cool to see, and I realized that in my pursuit to be just like everyone else, I was buying more expensive materials simply because "it's what everyone else uses" and I lost sight of the "budget" aspect of cosplay on a budget. And that hit me, hard, and made me feel almost like a failure at first. I made my channel because a friend urged me to make tutorials about how I make quality cosplays for cheap...and I had strayed from that. Am I saying that it's bad to learn and grow? No of course not, but in my growing I had lost myself...So I'm taking me back. I'm going to make that little challenge my thing. All cosplays that I make will be a challenge for me to make for only $25 or less (unless I give myself a bigger budget lol) it will make me stop and think outside the "normal" box for cosplayers, what I did when I first started my channel. I'm sorry this rant has been so long, but I hope if anyone else has been feeling the same way that this has helped you as well. Here’s a picture of the cowl I made my mom for Christmas, to accompany the rant I’m about to go on. I’ve lost weight, which is good! Yay #keto But now I gotta buy a new dress form & the corset I made for Bowsette is already too big. I gotta rethink her design & probably make it out of knit, so the weight loss won’t effect the wearability of it. I’ll probably have to make my next few costumes from knit, so I can wear them while I’m getting to the size my body will be happy with.
