Ludinus mindset is stuck in a pre Divine Gate space and I'm honestly waiting for anyone to finally point that out. Like, the issues he has with them aren't even much relevant anymore.
He's talking like the gods are still waging war amongst them, but they're not. Everything going wrong in Exandria right now will still be wrong when they're gone, because the people will still have the same capacity for greed, lust for power, revenge, etc. (and that is assuming getting rid of the gods won't fuck them all over).
He's still barking at and trying to bust through a door that has been closed for almost a century, trying to "solve" a problem that the gods he wants to kill behind that door are minimally involved in at this point, arguing as if the door was still open.
I am absolutely obsessed with the scene in the opening where Will and Derrig turns into petals. It was so smooth and it just struck a chord in me. Like ow. How did you pack that much emotion in something so short.
Also someone in the youtube comment pointed out that it was perfectly timed with the lyrics "Two by two, we fall" and that hurts even more.
This is fucking fantastic
