when i get my hands on Liam O'Brien i'm making him pay all my therapy bills
like. LIKE. look at his face. the sudden surprise as jester invades his space and proceeds to RUTHLESSLY unravel and acknowledge his pain after the traumatic events of the day, the way he's so carefully tucked away all emotions and tried to move on without worrying the group. look how quickly the layers all crumble away, how emotional and vulnerable and small he looks, how for a second we see Caleb Widogast without all his layers. if i had any power at all to do so i would give this man a thousand oscars and then ask for a milion dollars to compensate for the emotional damage he has wrought me
Clip from Critical Role Campaign 3 Episode 83 just after break while Ashley is leveling up.
Really appreciate her pushing back on backseat gamer culture among fans and asserting that she's playing in a way that's fun for her. And Marisha jumping in to reaffirm her. They've all gotten an undue amount of shit from people trying to play their characters for them over the years. Who often believe they're "helping" but have actually been ignoring the play style Matt said they were using literally first thing in the first episode. Story over stats. The female players have gotten it especially bad over the years because of misogyny. Gotta just let people play in the way that makes them inspired and creative and not push a different style on them. As long as everyone at the table is into it it's totally fine to imagine characters that have "flaws" or are less than perfectly optimized. Flaws are interesting.
FCG and FRIDA | Heart by Sleeping at Last | A LoveLetters Edit
Having Aabria and Christian as guests on Critical Role has been the thing I didnt know I needed. FCG and FRIDA were also something I didnt know I needed. I’ve loved seeing this story unfold and I can’t wait until next time.
