Another World
this was supposed to be a quick study based on Escher's Another World II. but the architecture turned out to be much harder then I expected, as, although it contains relatively few elements, the odd perspective warping arrangement was not easy to work with
This also features a return of Crab Vessel with Double Spout, standing in for the surreal bird sculpture in the original piece.
the portal effect is done with ray portals in blender, they are a new feature, and this is my first time really using them. they turned out to really slow the render down, and added quite a lot of noise as well. that is the primary reason this isnt an animation

These were from two separate posts but I *NEEDED* them to be united

Ceramic Crab Vessel with Double Spout from the Calima Region Colombia, 1500 B.C.-A.D. 100. And Porcelain Crab Tureen from Jingdezhen, China, 1736-95.
Beautiful. Magnificent. Two artful hand-crafted serving containers whose creation was separated by at least 1500 years and the largest ocean on the planet. Both with the same glorious form.
Carcinisation is eternal
