can you tell us all the plugins / ad blockers you use

on desktop, uBlock Origin (NOT Adblock Plus! they sold out years ago! they literally take money from advertisers to make sure their ads get through their filters!) and SponsorBlock for Firefox. if you still see ads on youtube specifically check out this page. if it's green, then the problem is with your specific installation and you should check out this reddit megathread. if it's red, then tough luck, wait a few hours for uBlock's crack team of hackers to catch back up in their constant arms race with Youtube.

for Android, get ReVanced Manager from here and use that + an .apk download of the latest Youtube release (just google "youtube apk") to patch yourself together a version of the Youtube app that acts like you paid for Advanced even though you didn't, which means no ads. also, side tangent, that's where the name comes from: originally it was just "Youtube Vanced" because it was "Advanced" without the "ad"s. then the Vanced team got slapped with a C&D for being dumbasses and minting NFTs of the Vanced logo, which was literally just the Youtube logo, so ReVanced rose from the ashes to continue its legacy. oh also there are a shitload of boxes you can check off during the patching process and one of them just integrates Sponsorblock for you, so that's nice.

i should also mention here, for no reason in particular, that the Vanced Manager app lets you patch a number of other apps in the same way, removing ads and adding "premium" features without you having to pay. one of these apps may or may not be Tumblr itself.

as long as you're fucking with your Android, download xManager and use it to get ad-free Spotify without paying for it. iirc the app auto-downloads the apk for you but it's been months since i last fucked with it so i might be misremembering.

honorary mention goes to NewPipe for being a way easier to install alternative to all of the above if you don't care about logging in. it's an alternate frontend for youtube that lets you watch it ad-free right out of the box. the main drawbacks are that the UI is a little ugly (especially compared to the official/ReVanced version), you can't use Sponsorblock, and it doesn't sync with your Google account (this could be a plus for you if you're big into privacy but personally i like having my likes and watch history synced across desktop and mobile). although now that i just did some research to make sure i wasn't talking out my ass, it looks like the original dev is working on a forked version of the app named Tubular that does have Sponsorblock and is apparently trying to get google account stuff working, so that's cool. oh and it can also browse/play Soundcloud ad-free, if you still use Soundcloud in 2024

YouTube says it will intentionally cripple the playback of its videos in third-party apps that block its ads. guide to ad-free youtube for mobile via. youtube revanced

since youtube vance is no longer maintained and youtube is cracking down on adblockers here is how to download youtube revanced which has the best options for customising youtube features; including removing youtube shorts popups, sponsorship segments in videos, hiding unused buttons, bringing back dislikes, and more! this guide is for android only. sorry apple users idk how to help you. your device doesn't have to be rooted. even if it is, you should still be able to follow this guide. if you have youtube vanced installed, revanced shouldn't clash, so you don't have to uninstall it if you don't want to.

installation guide:

1. download all 3:

i. microg (this will let you log into your youtube account) [apk mirror] (scroll past description, download the latest one)

ii. revanced manager apk [github] (select the latest release, scroll to the bottom in assets, install the .apk file)

iii. latest youtube apk [apk mirror]

2. open revanced manager

3. select in this order: "patcher" -> "select an application" -> "storage" (note: if your phone asks you to let the app have storage access, say yes)

8. if this worked, you should have youtube revanced installed, and you can log in like normal. if this didn't work, read the next part.

1. select: 3 dots on the top right -> "export apk"

2. save it

3. open whatever file browsing app you use (most phones should have a default one that comes pre-installed called something like "files" or "my files". if you don't have one, you can go to the play store and search "files" and pick one. if you aren't sure, i use "files by google")

4. find the exported file and install it (it will be called something like "youtube-revanced-versionnumber.apk")

5. if this worked, you should have youtube revanced installed, and you can log in like normal. if this didn't work, you can read the next part.

issue b) can't build or install youtube revanced with no option to export

1. something may have gone wrong with the file installation at some point, so try a clean start. to do this, uninstall:

i. revanced manager

ii. youtube revanced

iii. microg

iv. (optional) disable/uninstall the default youtube app

2. follow guide from step 1 again, hopefully it works. if it's still not working, you can try other alternatives. i've listed some in the next part of this post

alternatives:

libretube, newpipe, songtube, vuetube, astron, puretuber

i haven't used any of these personally, but i haven't seen any problems with them. let me know if there are and i'll remove it from the list.

you can also use youtube through your web browser with adblock add-ons. i'm not sure whether youtube has affected their mobile site though. with the firefox app you can use ublock origins (for ads) + youtube high definition (for general quality fixes)

About the archive - The files here were previously scattered across multiple websites and cloud storage services, making them difficult to acquire to those outside the small Guilty Gear archival group. I did my best to gather them all in one place. Please contact me if more files are discovered and I will add them to the archive upload on Archive.org.

The ripped mobile port files - The mobile version of Vastedge XT was only online and available to even download for around a year before the servers shut down. The two .OBB and one .APK file were ripped from the Android port of the game and are what Tillman ripped the animated assets, meshes, sounds, and textures from. A lot could not be ripped because it was stored on the game's servers. The encryption also makes ripping files from these difficult. It's possible there's more on them that was not able to be ripped.

Japanese file names - The original name of the .APK was ﾊﾟﾁｽﾛ GG_com.dtechno.slotguilty.apk and had to be renamed to be compressed into a .ZIP folder. If the file runs into errors during launch/cracking attempts, try reverting the name. Likewise, the Japanese names of the videos could not be compressed and were also translated. There is a separate .TXT file within VXT VIDEOS that includes their original Japanese file names.

Duplicate concept art images - There were two archives of the concept art. One was hosted on e-hentai by Mister Guest and contained the full, uncropped, images. The second was from a folder that Volcanic had compiled. Volcanic's files were a higher resolution, but were cropped and missing some information Mister Guest's files had. I've included them both here as well as the files from a third archive where an anonymous user on Imgur had restored the colors on the character models to match how they look in the game itself.

Neon colors on the concept art - The neon sections on these character model sheets are temporary/placeholder colors and not how they appeared within the Vastedge XT game. Their true colors can be seen in the videos within the VXT VIDEOS folder or in the FIXED COLORS folder within VXT CONCEPT ART.

Dialog transcripts - What we know of Vastedge's story came from official story summaries posted by Arc System Works on the Guilty Gear websites. The dialog is exactly that: character dialog. There may be lines missing, that are inaccurate (due to typos), or other written/spoken parts of VXT not included. It may be possible to get this missing information from the videos in VXT VIDEOS or from other VXT video sources online.

he owns an iphone, completely in love with its aesthetics and simple interface in comparison to android. he doesn’t care much for customization outside of his wallpapers and phone case, which is a simple black case.

hermes’ grammar and punctuation is always perfect; he very seldom sends a message with an error in it. however, he has an awful usage of emojis. he will be texting about ares harming himself accidentally and end the message with the crying laughing emoji — whether this is intentional or not is still up for debate.

in regards to social media, hermes is somehow always on. the minute you send a message, you’ll see the typing bubbles instantaneously. if you post something at a late hour, he is the first to comment. nobody knows how he manages to be such a quick responder, but at least it can be reliable in emergencies.

his most used app is, of course, the calendar app. he has reminders for anything and everything if it involves himself. he takes his organization very seriously!

nobody is allowed near his gallery, ever.

ares

upon hermes’ recommendation, ares also has an iphone, but it’s an older model and his screen protector has some cracks in it. none of his apps are grouped on his homescreen, quite a few apps aren’t updated to the latest versions, and he doesn’t understand how to setup the cloud.

however, ares does know how to use the fitness app. in fact, it’s the only app he knows how to use properly. he owns a fitbit and will always make sure it’s charged and synced with his fitness and health apps before starting his day.

whenever you receive a message from ares, it will always be in full caps. you’re not sure if he somehow turned on a setting to make his keyboard stay in caps lock, or if he does it on purpose; all that’s for sure is that he is very loud in his messages! but he is polite, still.

ares likes the concept of social media, but he’s not very good at curating his space and has ended up with am instagram discovery page full of history facts and side hustle scams. his profile, though, is full of photos of his morning jogs and time spent in the gym.

he has a lot of followers because of his muscles and mirror selfies, but he doesn’t know how to make his page private for friends and family.

adam

adam has an android, but only because he had to pick a phone and he didn’t really have a preference on what he used; he just wanted to be reachable to his family. he doesn’t have a case on his phone, but manages to keep it safe from being dropped.

his favorite app is facebook! the intimate aspect of it appealed to him, and he is always able to flaunt his familial status with the about page — he likes listing his wife and kids on his page. he makes sure that the first thing you see when going to his profile is that he’s married with kids.

he really needs help with taking photos, though. adam doesn’t realize that after you hit the button you have to stay still while the photo is processed, so his pictures always come out blurry with major lens flare. (don’t worry, eve takes much better pictures than him.)

his typing style is very similar to his personality — very chill! adam only types in lowercase, but he will use proper punctuation, too; he also likes the classic way of emoting, with colons and parentheses! he doesn’t use modern emojis because he doesn’t know how to get to that screen from his keyboard, but he makes do.
