HERE HE IS!! I fussed over his design for at least a week before I decided to post it and hope to God I don't think of something to add or change right after I do. Still haven't decided on a name for the AU though. ANYWAY this AU takes place during and after the events of chapter 3, where Angel saves Dogday and recruits him as a part of the uprising against The Prototype. Though due to his immense trauma, Dogday enters into a sort of delusion/trauma response where he begins to mimick the obsessive and abusive relationship he witnessed between Catnap and The Prototype, where he now sees Angel as his God and savior. Angel meanwhile develops feelings for him and tries their hardest to compromise with those feelings while they try to help him through it.

This AU deals with religious trauma, a one sided unhealthy attachment, and a sort of "morally grey" unhealthy relationship where the abuser is unintentional in their abuse due to their lack of knowledge about mental health issues and how to help and accommodate them. This does get better with time but the healing process from that stuff is complicated and heavy. If any of that is or can be upsetting for you please block me/the AU tag! I promise I won't be upset!

every time i think the "staff can do no wrong and any form of complaining or expressing literally anything other than "yaaay love it <3" with no further comments is bashing and literally evil we should never say anything that could even potentially be interpreted as mildly critical ever because ~some artist who worked hard on this is probably reading the forums and might feel bad if we ever express anything but praise~ also we must be constantly positive at all times unless we're passive-aggressively shaming someone for having an extremely polite and apologetically worded criticism and if you ask the staff for literally anything you had better be prepared to preface it with 3 paragraphs of apologizing for breathing air" attitude is bad on tumblr, i take one look at the forums, and holy fucking hell is it SO much worse on site

i think my brain wants me to play sims because i keep having dreams where I'm either playing sims 2 or some mishmash game of 2,3, and 4 (and the mashup game really highlighted how differently the personalities were handled in each game because they'd be in the same household together and the sims 3 sims would be so normal and the sims 4 sims would try to play in traffic)

and then there was that one goth family dream where i kinda fell in love with cassandra but she never noticed me (holy shit was i darren dreamer)

Also to update on my dogday au, I'm working on references for the characters I'll post soon and still workshopping a name. I have most of the lore down but I'm still flip floppy on names for whatever reason. I'm good on characters though cause there's really only two characters the au worries about which are angel and dogday. Easy work for me I suppose!
