Two Upcoming Reblog Games

Hey there! In an attempt to increase fandom engagement and spur creativity, I'm starting two reblog games.

One is narrow in scope, but the other is open to the entire Pixelberry fandom. They will begin tomorrow and this upcoming Thursday, respectively. Totally Tobias Tuesday

This was an idea born of a conversation with @alj4890. It will be a small audience, but it's a little fun for Tobias stans to get to know each other's versions of the character we learned so little about in canon better. You don't need to have a Tobias pairing to participate in most weeks. This one may be bi-weekly. We'll see how it goes; these are both works in progress! 😊

Top Three Thursday

This will be open to all Pixelberry Choices fandoms. Some weeks may be about you (i.e., your three favorite Choices stories, LIs, tropes, etc.) Other weeks will be about your parings/ MC / OCs (i.e., three things your OTP will never agree on, the three characters who can always make your MC laugh, etc.) Again, this is a work in progress... we'll see where it goes.

It happened. 

The day he never saw coming. 

Never imagined it.

And yet here he was -- in the aftermath of it all.  

Dr. Ethan Ramsey had eight months to wrap his head around parenthood. He knew all the basics in keeping an infant alive - he’s spent his fair share in the NICU. But oh my god was Ethan Ramsey terrified of being a father. He wouldn’t tell Becca though. She was emotional and worried enough as is. Any and all his concerns were saved for the short conversations he had with his father.

“Don’t overthink it, son. The moment you lay eyes on your daughter you’ll know what to do. It’s instinct. Biology. That was your best subject in school, wasn’t it?” Alan would joke.

Dakota Dolores Ramsey was completely unplanned. Unplanned but not unwanted. Loved for who she is and the idea of who she will become. The kind of love parents are supposed to regard their children with. 

But no one could explain to him just how unprepared Ethan would be, or how in one instant his entire being would change. One look at Dakota and Ethan's entire world shifted. 

The first time Ethan Ramsey held his daughter time froze. Becca resting in the hospital bed, coming in an out of lucidity, as he sits in the chair next to her bed and cradles their daughter to his bare chest. Everything stopped but the beating of three hearts. The universe needed a minute to process the broad grin and full heart thumping rapidly from this stoic and reserved man. 

The earth was about to spin the wrong way but then Dakota opened her eyes. 

Ethan Ramsey could never have understood the verity of fatherhood. Not until this moment.

Everything was the way divinity had planned it.

OHFFs Advent Calendar 2021

As winter and Christmas approach, we’d like to invite you to participate in our First Advent Calendar Event, in which every day one person will share their creation related to Winter or the Holiday Season.

To make this happen, we will need 24 volunteering artist and writers to give each one a day to share their pieces with the fandom. You can sign up whether to write a fic, make a fanart, an edit, even moodboards! As long as it is related to this season, every creation will be welcome.

To sign up please submit an application using this form. 

It would be great if we could get a good mix of visual and written art, so please let me know what you are planning to donate.

Every participant will get a date when their contribution shall be posted (if you want to claim a special day, please let me know in the Pairing section, otherwise I will just choose one for you. I will be handing out requested days on a first-come-first-served basis).

Make sure you only sign up if you seriously want to contribute something. Your piece (no matter if drawn or written or whatever) has to be themed winter-ish and/or Christmas-ish besides that you are free to create whatever you want!

Applications close November 19th and Applicants will receive their given days on November 20th. 

We ask contributors to send your piece into our SUBMIT box a minimum of 2 days prior to your scheduled date. This way we can queue the piece up and your name still stays attached as if you posted it to your own blog. IF there is a specific way you’d like your post formatted please let us know in a DM to @eleanorbloom or @utterlyinevitable after you’re submitted.

Yes. My grandmother, but I don't have her exact name, it's more of an acronym of her name.

When was the last time you cried?

Hmm. Due to fiction? Within the past week. Due to real-life issues? Probably within the past month.

Yes, one.

I really am not a fan of horror movies at all. Thrillers, yes, gorefests absolutely not. Creepy? Yes. Horribly violent? No. BUT there are exceptions - I'm complicated. lol I do tend to love happy endings, but I also like realistic endings, and sometimes they are not happy.

Any special talents?

Public speaking. I'm great at it - but I hate it. I'm a decent writer - not that I think I'm wonderful - but I'm not bad. I also do some non-fiction writing IRL for work and for orgs I work with. I've been told it's mindboggling that I can throw together a great speech in under 20 min. So, I guess that's a talent. lol

Where were you born?

Don't like putting this out there (in case y'all haven't realized, I have people who don't like me. lol ) But lets say EAST COAST USA lol

What are your hobbies?

Writing, Reading, Current Events, Politics, Volunteering, Activism, Broadway/Theater - they're my favorites.

Do you have any pets?

Three. A dog, two bunnies. They're all seniors, and I adore them, but when they go, I am NOT getting any more pets. I'm at an age where I just want to take care of myself. (Having Covid and having to care for 3 pets while so sick solidified that for me lol)

What sports do you/have you played?

I never played team sports. When I was younger I did ice skate and did gymnastics, but it was a hobby, not competitive. My cousin used to take me bowling, but I don't consider that a sport. lol

How tall are you?

I'm tall. lol

Favorite subject in school?

Any courses dealing with history, political science, sociology, and psychology.

Dream job?

I would have loved to be a writer, screenwriter, or to have worked FT for an organization I truly believe in. When I was younger, I wanted to get into politics, and I did... but it was sooooo dirty I lost my taste for it. In retrospect, I wish I would have stuck it out, because there are ways to be impactful and not be a total douche. :)

WIP WEEKEND UPDATE

The past few weeks have been very challenging, so I have not gotten anywhere near as much writing as I'd normally like to do. As a result, my plans for the weekend have changed. I'm OK with this. I've gotten to a place where I am comfortable with plans not always going as expected, and change is required, especially in the fandom.

So I will be focusing on my Tobias/Casey HC, so I can get them to their big day next weekend. But I also want to get one work for Ethan done, and I want your help on that!

To facilitate Tobias/Casey's HC, I did/will do these things:

I restructured a series I had that told the story of how they met and began to come together into individual fics this week. That will help me tell the parts of the story I want to tell this upcoming week and allow me to come back to fill in their story as needed.

As a bonus, it allowed me to refresh my memory on little details I had forgotten and tighten some things up.

This week - I will try to put out a fic - some will be longer, but some will be short - covering the following:

The Attack and the immediate aftermath.

How they finally got together for good.

Some glimpses of their life as a couple - mostly happy but a few bumps.

We've already seen their engagement and they've shared the news with their parents and Ethan, now they'll tell their friends and start wedding planning - you'll see some of those capers - and what leads them to decided to secretly elope in advance of the big day.

The elopement story will be shared.

Then the wedding.

Yep, lots of writing to do, but a lot is already done. Now back to Ethan... my goal will be to finish one WIP this weekend, but I'd love my readers to tell me which they'd prefer to see. As long as inspiration shows up for it, I'll make sure that's the one that I finish! Here's a link to a survey. Let me know what you'd like!

Sending out some (much needed) love...

Hey, y'all... let's remember why we're here... our love of silly pixelated idiots that we love. There is so much negative shit going on in this world today - I don't know about you - but I barely know how I survived the past couple of years and, right now, it really isn't feeling much better.

This is my little slice of happiness, of escape... and I am going to control that narrative because NO ONE is stealing that from me.

Anons are off. If you want to send me hate, put your face to it. If you don't have that much courage, then keep quiet. And, please, examine why you need to be that way.

If you want to talk or ask a question, you can do that. If you're afraid to do that publicly, DM's are always open and always confidential.

My goal in being here was to write, read, meet like-minded people and have fun. I've done that, and I will continue to do so.

Dani. Most of the time when she does, it's because Tobias made a terrible joke or her siblings are annoying her.

Nat, no question. That red hair is like a beacon; she'd be impossible to lose in a crowd.

Hmm... Tobias, I think. He's the type of person who just draws people in so he'd be easy to find 'cause he'd be surrounded by others, telling jokes or being his witty, charming self.

35) Who picks up languages faster?

Ethan & Nat:

Nat. Her maternal grandparents are Polish immigrants and primarily speak Polish so she and her brother grew up speaking the language with them. Then, after spending a decent amount of time with Dani and her family, she's also picked up a bit of Spanish; not necessarily enough to be fluent, but enough to hold a conversation or two.

Tobias & Dani:

Dani, no question. She's fluent in four languages already: English, Spanish, French, and Italian. She's currently learning her fifth language: German. This is a skill that's come quite handy throughout her career as she works with many musicians from outside of the country and as she works on various Opera pieces that are performed in their original languages.

39) Which of the two is more artistic?

Ethan & Nat:

Nat. She loves musical theatre, she loves to bake with Sienna, and, when time allows, she loves to write. Ethan loves art but he’s not an artistic person, per se. So, out of the two, Nat gets that title.

Tobias & Dani:

Dani, no contest. Her entire career is based in the arts and she thrives in it. Tobias wouldn’t stand a chance if he tried.
